Best fish and chips in a wholesome/family setting! Laylaa and Kreidi was so accommodating! Apple cider draft is so refreshing!!

Fish and chips was delicious we chose this place for the gluten free options and it didn’t disappoint. Fast and friendly service, freshly cooked food and options for everyone. Save room for pudding we had gluten free sticky toffee pudding with icecream it was yummy 😋

Fish and chips were ok but the service was awful. We had our order taken and it took over almost two hours to get the food. After almost an hour, I inquired about it since others had come after us and received food before us, I found they had missed our entire order. It was put in again and took another thirty minutes to receive it. During the time no one checked to see if we needed more drinks or how our meal was which would have tipped them off to the meal issue. Lastly, I waited another 20 minutes to get the check to pay and when I asked about it the waitress said she would bring my food right out. This was after we had eaten. It was a busier time, but I doubt I’ll try them again I wasn’t expecting stellar just a fair meal. What I got was less than reasonable.

I've lived in the UK for six years now, first time at Hobsons. The best fish and chips in the UK. Everything was full of flavor. Family visiting from America and they loved it. The staff was very accommodating for our group of seven.

Not happy at all. Food amount is a sad thing, I ordered fish and ships and it was rather like a sardine size, so disappointing. Fish was watery in the inside and tasteless, horrible experience wouldn’t come back again.

Agressive waitress, small portions. I would not come back. It’s a shame as the small amount of food that came was good. :(

Wir waren mit der Familie da und haben Fish und Calamari jeweils mit Chips als Take-Away mitgenommen. Ohne Getränke in jeweils zwei Erwachsenen- und Kinderversionen kostete das Ganze 34 Pfund. Geht billiger, aber haben wir in London in Touri-Lage schon weitaus schlechter gegessen. Die Panade war kross und der Fisch war gut. Gegen die Calamari gab es nichts einzuwenden. Sicherlich war es recht milde gewürzt und die Saucen fielen nicht so üppig aus, aber es hat geschmeckt. Und darauf kommt es an. Wenn man im Lokal isst, muss man sich auf ein hektisches Treiben einstellen. Aber das ist wohl in der Gegend auch nicht anders zu erwarten. P.S.: Uns hat das Lokal angesprochen, weil vier Polizisten dort ihre Mahlzeit einkauften. Also kann es ja nur gut sein… ;-)

Smallest fish ever for a very expensive £16.95, with soggy batter and very watery fish inside....lived in London for 30years and worst (and smallest) battered fish ever, clearly bored staff and unclean table...

Visited this location tonight and was not impressed., bottles of sauce on tables not wiped and dirty. Fish and chips not worth the price in my opinion Viewed better places very close near by and cheaper and looked better. So choose the right PLAICE because you COD do better

The restaurant is very clean, bright, reasonable spacing between tables. Welcome was non existent, so we seated ourselves. A server then appeared quite soon and brought us menus, they were friendly and welcoming. We chose immediately and they were helpful and responsive. Food came quickly (it should since it is already cooked 😎). The chips were under cooked, the haddock cooked perfectly but probably the smallest served since people started cooking fish. The mushy peas were not mushy peas but crushed peas and were cold. The bread cake was a similar micro size as the haddock and the portion of tartare sauce similarly minute. Why 3 stars, not less? Cleanliness, speed, charm of the servers. Won’t be coming back there are better fish and chip restaurants all over London. Feedback given to server who promised to pass it on. She was similarly smiley and helpful as the others.

Came here after riding the Thames Rocket ( a must ! ) Promptly seated and served pretty much straight away. Massive tourist restaurant but couldn't complain about anything tbh. Had two different types of battered fish .. both of local fish shop quality . Good size portion of chips which could have been better but tasty enough . The bill for 3 was 90.00 with drinks so middle price range. Would not put anyone off of coming here..it's Nice . Service throughout was very good.

This was a bit of a tourist trap - avoid going is you’re looking for authentic fish and chips you can do better. And the service was very lacklustre- we had to ask to be seated, for someone to take our order, to bring a drink refill and the bill. We basically had to tell the workers to work. £58 for 1 fish/chip, 1 kids meal, 1 appetiser, one beer and two desserts.

Really nice staff that is ready to help and inform about the food. The food where great and was done fast. We where served by Khan.

Visited Central London Yesterday and looked for a clean decent looking restaurant to have food with friends. We walked past and the restaurants look shows that it is very clean which is important for us. The staff are amazing, warm, very friendly and they all have wonderful smiles. The food was tasty and not one thing any of us could fault. We will be visiting for sure everytime we visit London. Thank you so much Hobsons and staff for a very pleasant restaurant experience.

Good spot in a tourist area for a quick bite. Had the Haddock + Chips (£16.95) and Fish Cake starter (£6.95 -- which was a mix of several fish they had and what I felt was potato). It all tasted great. Note that this is not some fine dining place. Because it's right in the middle of a tourist area, the staff is very busy so I'm taking that into account. Seated quickly. Servers/Waitresses were polite. Truly no complaints.

Good food and friendly staff but when it got busy the service was chaotic. Wasn't happy with the 10% automatic addition of a service charge given the time I'd had to wait to be served.

Megi was very friendly and fast in ordering. The food was delicious :) Could be more chips as a portion, but summing up really good!

The most delicious fish & chips in London! I was greeted so warmly by Mansi who went out of her way to check in on me & my server Megi reassured me about my gluten allergy, all with smiles all around. What a treat to be able to eat such delicious food without having to worry. Shoutout to Shawon for bringing the energy. I highly recommend coming in for the most amazing food & incredible energy & vibe.

Excellent gluten free fish and chips as always. It was a little busy but despite that the service was excellent and Shawon was lovely!

I order cod and chips was cooked really well and taste great the only thing I think is that it's slightly over priced but you do expect that with places like this over charging because of tourist . The other thong is you need to pay 5 pounds just to sit down and eat you food which brings your fish and chips up to 20 almost without a drink .

Mansie, our waitress, was lovely. The chips, mushy peas, tartare sauce and Camden ale were absolutely gorgeous. The vegan fish was awful. Jackfruit is not a great substitute. Hallomi would have been much better.

Stumbled into here as our planned restaurant was full, and was so glad we did, it was absolutely delightful. Good sized, Friendly staff, and very helpful, was served by the lovely Mansi - will definitely come back!
