Went to Ho Wong with a group of friends. The food was expensive but very good. However, the service was unfriendly and surly. Not one of the serving staff smiled at any point during the evening. It felt like we were an inconvenience to the serving staff. The staff would benefit from some customer service training. I do not recommend this place and won't return.

The original Ho Wong had justifiably legendary status. I simply had to assess the reincarnation. The staff exude a peculiarly disdainful demeanour. The lunch menu was vastly overpriced for sub-mediocre food served in embarrassingly small portions. I am amazed that this pretentious establishment has survived so long. Is it a case of the (Chinese) Emperor's New Clothes?

We visited Ho Wong with our friends who had highly recommended this restaurant, and it didn't disappoint. Beautiful decor, great service, and most importantly amazing Chinese food. All course were delicious, but the Fantastica desert was outrageously good. Highly recommend this restaurant for atmosphere, food quality & service, will be back when next in Glasgow.

A varied menu that never fails to satisfy. It is real food, nicely made. They are also able to modify dishes for allergies ( a testament to the live kitchen)! The staff are attentive, professional and helpful. The decor is beautiful and it is a pleasure to eat here. Prices are reasonable for the quality and ambience. Definitely somewhere you could keep coming back to.

Great food. Overpriced. Everything including soft drinks and water had a significant mark up. Don’t mind paying for quality food but not the added stuff which is clearly the same anywhere.

My husband and I ate here last night for our wedding anniversary. We were booked early at 6pm and the staff were ready to greet us and take our coats. We ordered a bottle of wine and the meal for 2, the food was served very quickly and was amazing and the staff were lovely and very attentive. We were aware you only have the table for an hour and 3/4 but never felt rushed at all. Lovely evening and we will return.

Unfortunately had a terrible night after being served 3 wrong dishes in our group. The prices were absolutely ridiculous and the portions were half the usual size. After ordering 3 fried rice we were given 3 tablespoons each at £4.50 each. The meals were very bland and had hardly any meat in them at £28.50 each. The restaurant itself was nice and had plenty of staff but totally overpriced and quite tasteless food.I certainly won't be returning.

To be fair, the food was nice, but it is one of the dearer lunch options available in the city. What has brought me to come on here at write a review, though, is the fact that they charge £3.90 for a small bottle of water (or any soft drink, I believe). We simply asked for water - we expected tap, not a £4 drink. My husband and I drank two waters each and were therefore charged almost £16 for WATER. That is a total cheek, and means we will not return.

Went with work, quite a large party. Wasn't paying so I won't comment on value however feel I must comment on food. I've been to many Chinese restaurants and have never tasted a better satay. Outstanding. And the crispy shredded chicken also right up there with best I've tasted. Very classy restaurant, food fantastic. Probably above average price wise on the a la carte but I reckon worth it.

My first time in the new location, delighted to see the decor & styling was unchanged from York St. Was there with my brother and it was an exceptional night's dining. Food was incredible, starting off with the prawn toast, one of the 4 set menu starters. My experience of prawn toast is of a pretty bland, free add on with a takeaway, this prawn toast was phenomenal. That's all I'm going to single out about the food as every mouthful of every dish was incredible. The Ho Wong arguably produces the tastiest Chinese cuisine in the country. Its excellence is reflected in the price. There are many less expensive options, not better value just not as pricey. If you can afford their prices then it's the place for you. My brother and I were there during the week and although it was busy it wasn't mayhem. The service we received was perfect. Courteous and helpful, knowledgable and efficient we couldn't fault them. I'm a wheelchair user and can say i was treated to a completely dignified dining out experience. Their disabled facilities are top notch. A grand night out.

I’ll start when we walked in to be greeted by a not so very nice manager. Seemed very grumpy and to be honest rude. Sat at a table to wait for our other guests we ordered a couple of drinks. There was absolutely no interaction with us - think the server had better things to do The food was always rushed at the old restaurant on York street ( we were usually in out in an hour ) no bowls and chopsticks were offered. No prawn crackers The food was definitely average. Salt and pepper chicken. Salt and pepper k prawn. Satay chicken which is just not great. Bits of pineapple bits of onion some chicken and a small jar of satay sauce £22. My local Chinese does this for £9 and I can assure you it’s 100% better Grand total inc some rice and noodles and 4 drinks £170. Was always expensive but now ridiculous There are so many much better Chinese restaurants in Glasgow. This one is definitely playing on past success We definitely won’t recommend or return

Bland, tasteless food in a cheap chintzy unfriendly interior. Totally left cheated after the hype, couldnt believe how poor the food was. I tried 5 dishes from the 6 at the table and each one could have come out an air-frier with a packet sauce. I left the restaurant with a plastic taste in my mouth which probably came from the coffee but I couldn’t be certain. The staff whilst I’m sure doing their best are unfriendly, bordering on rude to requests for drinks/extras anything actually. Better Chinese restaurants in Glasgow, wouldn’t be hard to be honest.

Service was random and frantic. Some staff members genuinely wanted to ensure your meal was going well but most had the personality of a stone and seriously couldn't care less. Food was ok but really not worth the price , particularly on the appetisers/ small plates and desserts. The dim sum were bang average and clearly bought in from the freezer department and the ribs were tiny and dry and that was a total of about £30. Deserts: if you want to see the definition of misrepresentation then have a desert @ £8.30 each, for bought-in tasteless Asda deserts, I felt ripped off. Décor and ambience were as good as it could be for the soulless box it's situated in. It will take me a long time to try them again as China town and kakalok are superior in quality, taste, costs and service. Wine list actually made me laugh out loud. It quite literally promised the earth but delivered a standard Tesco's metro wine isle. Other things to note is that they are against families and have NO facilities what so ever cater for children - truly appalling in 2023/2024

Came here under recommendation, was not disappointed, lovely restaurant, friendly staff and great food, crspy duck pancakes followed by fillet beef with ginger and spring onion and salt and chilli chicken. Will definitely be back ❤️

We had our first visit to the new Ho Wong tonight to celebrate a friend’s birthday. We were slightly nervous that it might not be as good as the old restaurant but from the moment we stepped in the door it was clear that nothing...

Great Chinese, food is delicious, always the same quality, great prices. Some portion sizes are quite small though but can’t really complain with the prices being so good
