Ho Wah Court in Forest of Dean

We had a lovely Chinese from here just recently, I am from the area and it always smells nice. Only downside is that you have to wait long after being told how long to wait, but the food is great.

We stayed at forest of Dean cabins and decided on a Chinese great service delivered to cabin with in 30 min great food good sized meals and hot, only down side cash only good value for money

Having used this takeaway for many years, the food tonight was inedible. The sauce was thick & tasteless, & the Singapore fried rice was bland, undercooked & with undercooked chicken in it. On phoning them, they rudely put the phone down twice. Would not recommend

After seeing reviews of Huangs i was very disappointed. They were quck and efficient with massive portions but the food was mostly bland and the sauces were sickly and gloopy. We could not eat it and unfortunately had to throw it away. Not to our taste at all, shame.

Went there last night, the food was excellent, the staff are friendly, couldn’t ask for more. The closest Chinese to us, and the best by a very long way.

We had a mixture of food and the menu is typical of most chinese takeaways. Everything tasted fresh and was piping hot. Friendly service from the staff. Would recommend to anyone. Don’t be afraid of trying new things. And if you love ribs, try the salt and pepper ones as these were juicy the whole way through

We stopped using this establishment a while back as the food was not great. Now, with current management we decided to give them another chance and we are so glad we did. Food quality is so much better, portions are perhaps on the large side but good value.

Nothing particularly wrong, other than being typically over greasy. Ordered boiled rice, spare ribs (meant to be ‘dry’ but dripping with fat), vegetable spring rolls (same as supermarket ones), sweet and sour pork (heavily coloured), crispy chilli beef (not very crispy, all stuck together) - As my title stated; just an average Chinese takeaway! Oh, also only accept cash - no cards!

me and hubby was staying in forest of Dean wood cabins and fancied a Chinese i rang to ask about the veggie curry and was it suitable for vegans and she said yes so then I asked how she makes the curry and what ingredients and she told me they add chicken soup so needless to say we didn't order. I'm not saying the food is bad because we never got to try but veggies and vegans need to be aware the food they are eating can contain meat.

I use this take away on a regular bases and I can honestly say I have never had any bad food from here. The cost of there food is also one of the best in the area, I just wish they did a delivery service but I guess I’m just lazy.

Tiniest portions ever this time around. Also absolutely disgusted to find a hair (obviously not mine as I’m blonde)in wh my tiny bag of chips. Disgusted.

Really nice meal, good value for money and everyone enjoyed their meal. Some food pinching taking place as normal. Enjoyed by every one including the person that ordered the cod... now called Huang's, but planning on going back before the end of the break.

It's never easy for me to eat anything (I have an eating disorder) so I had worked myself up to this. I ordered spring rolls, lemon chicken and chicken fried rice - just to have what I could manage. Sadly I was disappointed with even what my ED allowed me. The spring rolls were crispy (good thing) but lacked flavour and seasoning. They were well filled but just bland. The chicken fried rice was, again, lacking in flavour, seasoning and all I could taste was the rice. Don't get me wrong, it was well cooked, just lacking in what you'd expect. The same theme followed with the lemon chicken - there was the merest hint of lemon but that was it. Sad experience especially as it's likely my ED won't allow this to happen for months again, but if & when it does I sadly won't be able to return. Sorry.

Very quick service. Pleasant staff in a busy takeaway. Excellent choice when you don't want to cook.

We have eaten here previously and it was OK, but today it was totally inedible, the sauce was so sweet it tasted like golden syrup not curry sauce, the barbecue sauce was the same. Just awful.

Called in for fish and chips after a visit to family and wished we hadn't bothered. Only ate about half and threw the rest away. Food was dry and hard with very little taste. Maybe the Chinese might better?

Estábamos de vacaciones en la zona y decidimos coger una comida para llevar. Es un poco limitado en la elección de la zona así que decidimos en un chino.

Esta fue la primera visita desde que cambio de barco propietario. Comida para llevar para ocho personas, en pedir un sábado por la noche. Todos ordenados distintas comidas y teniendo un tiempo para la colección. Al entrar Huangs nos recibió un amable personal, que fueron ocupados de otras comidas dentro del hotel está. No hubo demora las comidas eran de buena calidad, caliente y abundante (creo que tienen porciones más pequeñas). Sí, una próxima vez. Todos estábamos muy contentos con nuestra comida.

Pedimos a recoger durante la estancia en la cabaña del bosque de las vacaciones. Dulce y amarga, tenía pato en salsa de ciruela, arroz frito y especial chow mein. La comida era deliciosa, buen precio y servicio de la pareja que trabajaba allí por teléfono y cuando nos presentamos y añadido un par de cosas a la orden. Volvería si nos local

Could not be bothered to go out one night at the hot tub was too relaxing. Sent the oldies out to get food and was not disappointed. The food was hot and really tasty. The Szechuan prawns had so many prawns in it and the...

Still the best takeaway in the area. The day has been announced when Ling (the lady owner) and her chef move on. Thankyou both for feeding us over your time here. The new owners will have a hard job to match your service. We wish you well in your move. And sad to see you go.

After all the good reviews we though we would try the salt and pepper chicken was very salty the noodles were very salty the chilli prawn was nice but still salty very disappointed maybe we chose the wrong dishes

After a relaxing day in the Forest of Dean Cabins we decided we didn't fancy cooking. Saw this place online and drove over (3 minutes) We had chicken fried rice, Singapore noodles, 2 sauces, chips and smoked chicken. It was all plentiful, hot and delicious.

We had all but given up in relation to finding a good Chinese. We live in lydney and have tried every Chinese in lydney, chepstow and a few other towns and this is truly the best. We were a bit nervous at first given the bad and/or disappointing experiences that we have had before but we were delighted to find a taste sensation. It's great to know that we have found a great Chinese now. The food tastes excellent, it tastes fresh and not like a bought sauce. The hot and sour soup, the spring rolls are great and the crispy chilli beef is very good. We have finally found our new regular Chinese. If you are looking for a great tasting Chinese the look no further.

From the area, i always used to use the takeaways in Coleford central however used this one thanks to tripadviser. Will not use anywhere else now! Best crispy shredded beef i've had in a while and my family swear by anything in black bean sauce. Also the chicken used actually feels like real chicken, not the water pumped rubbery 'meat'.

We ate here while staying at Forest Holidays during July 2016.Having read the previous review on Trip Advisor which told us that the restaurant had recently changed hands we were concerned about what we were in for and whether the takeaway would continue to live up to its high rating on trip advisor. We needn't have been concerned as the food was excellent and amongst the very best Chinese takeaways that I have had. We went for the prawns in black bean sauce; sweet and sour chicken and egg fried rice. All of which cost a mere £12.50.I'm just annoyed that we only ate here on our last day, and so didn't get a chance to explore all the other dishes on offer!

Sadly this excellent takeaway has been sold. And it's time for Ling the lady that owns the place to move on.We wish you well Ling. We were staying down the road with forest holidays so decided to have a chinese on our final night. Was a quick service and friendly staff. My sweet and sour was the nicest I've had in a long time

We have lived in the FoD for around 15 years, but only discovered this gem about 5-6 months ago. To look at, the frontage and interior are in need of some investment, but don't let that put you off, the food is great! The warm and friendly welcome from the owner is also a welcome change in a takeaway. Try the salt and pepper squid! Only negative is that it is cash only.

Looks a bit worse for wear from the outside but really tasty food and good value. Ideal for those stopping at the Forest of Dean. Some advertising inside the forest holiday retreat would be handy though!

Get plenty for your money. Other half loves it, her favourite locally, I prefer Lucky's in Coleford but this is pretty good. Only down side is sometimes it gets so busy they don't even answer the phone to take your order. A sign of good popular food I guess! Chip portions are massive.

We are staying at The Forest Holiday complex and located the take away via google maps that turned out to be under 5 mins down the road. The staff were very welcoming and the meal was excellent well worth visiting if you want a chinese takeaway.

We were staying in Berry Hill and decided to try the nearest Chinese takeaway. The food definitely matched to our local restaurant in Loughborough - in fact several dishes were superior - definitely would recommend this restaurant - liked by all the family.

I am always a bit worried as to the quality of some takeaways but this one was recommended by my brother, so we thought we would try it. The waiting area was busy with a steady stream of people getting their meals, which I think is always a good sign. The lady serving was very polite and cheerful. The food was freshly cooked while we waited, very good portion size and we both really enjoyed it. Well worth a visit.

Became rather disillusioned with previous owners as quality was a little indifferent at times. However thanks to Carol for her review as we tried it last night as we do live in the village. What a change; it was splendid, food served fresh, it was still being brought out as I arrived. Staff very friendly and helpful. It is now back on our takeaway list!

Ate from here whilst staying at 'Forest holidays'. It is around a 10 minute walk from the cabins so we decided to go by foot rather than take the car. Ordered in the takeaway itself instead of in advance but the service was very quick and the lady serving was very polite. Food was lovely and fresh and price was around the same as where we live which I felt was good value. Would definately eat here if staying in the area again.

I admit that it is fully ten years since we made use of this fast food outlet and it was so bad we haven't been since. Clearly the current owners are providing a really good service and the takeaway we had last night was great. The ingredients are fresh and our dishes were freshly cooked as we waited. It was tasty and good value. I thought it worth writing a review for the benefit of visitors who may be camping in the Forest of Dean.

Great value = phone your chinese order then go and pick it up!! We often have a large portion of chips which does our family of 2 adults and 3 children if you put it with something.Definately recommend :-)
