Hithe + Seek in City of London, Westminster

Came during LCW and I must call this place a hidden gem. This hotel bar is located on the 3rd floor and has a beautiful secluded view of the Thames. Take a seat by the window and you can see the Globe theatre across the water. The drinks were great but the reason I rate this bar is the exceptional service. The waiter we had was great and even went above and beyond to run after us to return and item I had forgotten at the table. Will definitely be back next year

Giving 2 stars because I gave my belongings to the cloakroom and was given a ticket with a number on it. When I was leaving I went to collect my things and they had given my umbrella to someone else and told me they didn't have it. I understand it is just an umbrella but it's the principal. You leave things in a cloakroom to be safe and I don't understand why it was not placed with the rest of my items. I was given another umbrella by the staff but this was a large pointy one which I will never use. It was 10pm after a work event so I was not going to make a fuss. But I am very disappointed and quite annoyed if I'm honest. Warning to others, don't leave your things in the cloakroom, and they really don't care.

Hidden Gem in London! I was surprised this place wasn't packed with people. Great atmosphere, drinks, and service. Cristian and Aneesh were very welcoming, knowledgeable, and attentive to our needs. Perfect place for special occasions or a casual drink with a view.

We had some delicious drinks with a beautiful view. Of course a bit more on the pricy side, but service and atmosphere were with it

We went here regularly for a few drinks after dinner. Service was always very polite and very quick. Even if you wanted to order something or pay, it was very quick. Overall, a great place for an evening drink. We didn't eat here, so I can only judge the bar's performance.

All food was slow, wrong or both. Marmite toast with no marmite. Bacon and egg sandwich with no egg? No problem we will bring it back 10 minutes later with cold bacon. Salmon and scrambled egg with a bagel ? It arrived looking like sick with no bagel! Sorry we don’t have any bagels! We even ordered drinks on line and these were wrong as well. Awful and awfully expensive

I recently visited The Shard rooftop, and unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing. While the view is undeniably stunning, several issues detracted from the overall experience. First, the service was subpar. The staff seemed inattentive and rushed, which made the experience feel impersonal and unwelcoming. Despite the premium pricing, it was difficult to get anyone’s attention to place an order or ask a question. Secondly, the food and drinks did not live up to expectations. The quality was mediocre at best, especially considering the high prices. The cocktails were watered down, and the food lacked flavor and presentation. For such a renowned venue, I expected much better. I recommend finding an alternative rooftop.

There’s tapas style and then there’s taking the piss. Dishes were way too small to share. Another one of those style over substance places. Beautiful venue with beautiful views but the food was over priced and nothing special. The bread was lovely and other dishes were nice but definitely not worth £18 each. You wouldn’t even pay that at a Michelin star restaurant. Zero atmosphere as the restaurant was empty and I know why now. Service was good but that was it. Absolute shame as it was a stunning venue. Another missed opportunity to do something great 😔

Attended a corporate event. Location wasn’t super clear as to where it was. Nice place, good river views. Bar staff were a bit confused by it all - they ran out of pint glasses at one point. Finger food was underwhelming - too fiddly and small for my tastes

Nestled in the Westin London city, I enjoyed a very fancy 5 course dinner that comprised of croquettes, octopus, baos, tiramisu and some Oyester mushrooms as their hero ingredients. As delight as the menu was, I felt that there was a little more wiggle room for example a bit of sauce to prevent the dryness in the pork bao and a slightly quicker service. Nonetheless, the ambience is gorgeous and the servers do take every measure to ensure you have a spotless experience.

It’s a long overdue review but I have not forgotten! Great venue and lovely staff. We booked a table for drinks and as there was a mention of my recent birthday, I was greeted with a lovely little birthday cake so I was a Birthday Girl again, how wonderful!! Beautiful panoramic view over the River Thames, delicious small plates and good cocktail selection so nothing more to wish for. I absolutely loved everything about this place!

I went to Afternoon Tea after an amazing day at their spa but it wasn’t the greatest. I think their menu items are very creative but when it came down to taste, it was the best. I recommend the Moroccan Tea! The sandwiches were somewhat decent, the best one if the ‘Grilled Vegetables, Hummus, Tomato and Bread’. The ‘Charcoal bun, Horseradish Creme, Dorset Beef’ was horrible. The bun was served inedible, had to return to the kitchen, hard but crumbly like play dough - even the waiter had a try trying to squeeze the bun to see the issue but we were offered another sandwich of choice to be replaced. Our waiter was amazing with ensuring all was well afterwards. Scones were amazing as per usual. Pastries were a miss. They looked pretty and have that picture worthy/instagrammable factor but just overloaded with creme than anything else, however, the Nutella & Berries Tart were delicious!

I went to have the afternoon tea at this restaurant yesterday and it looked okay. One day later I have food poisoning I have been vomiting non stop I’ve not eaten anything else other then this and the food did look weird so I am certain that it’s that. Please close your restaurant down or fix your food. I would write a longer review but I need to go vomit again.

Afternoon Tea food was fantastic as was the location. The service was really slow, only one member of staff serving the whole restaurant (He was lovely) - he was really let down by whoever sorts out the staffing. Unfortunately, I don't think this experience was worth the money it cost.

Confusing website and booking system. I booked for drinks (and possibly small plates) for this bar as loved the look of the menu and views of the river. Upon arrival was informed that they could only offer afternoon tea. Went to the restaurant upstairs but the cocktail menu was entirely different and no view! Nice enough place but wouldn’t have booked and travelled to a venue which is a bit out of the way. Friendly service though and they did their best to make drinks from the downstairs menu.

The view is nice and service is good. The cocktails are just not good, particularly for 18£.

Drawn by the fantastic reviews, I booked a table for my partner's special birthday and looked forward to enjoying what others said Hithe + Seek offer. The two guys who looked after our table showed little preparation and lack of interest from the start: they could not find our booking (a better-prepared female colleague came to the rescue). They mentioned that the menu was based on tapas and recommended sharing two tapas, which was odd and sounded too little to feed two adults, but anyhow. When I inquired about the difference between two different Italian wines by the glass on the menu, the waiter went blank. He only managed to offer a taster for both. We ordered three tapas dishes, including the house bread, which we had to remind them of not once but twice (the first two times, we got "it's on its way" as an answer). Around 40 minutes after we ordered it, we finally got it. The other two dishes were gone by then. The bread was yummy and the only good dish of the night. We also had to remind them about the glass of red wine, but only once. The octopus (£18+SC) was anecdotal in size (see pictures) and dull in taste. The potato and mushroom shawarma was disappointing, too. Our two waiters proved to be uninterested at all times. Although the place was not very busy and there was additional staff for the rest of the floor, they hardly paid attention to us or our neighbouring tables. We ordered an additional dish. The menu is not extensive, yet the staff was not in control of it. A couple of minutes later, our waiter came back and said that the dish was discontinued. No problem, we ordered another one. That also looked fine, yet a minute later, the waiter returned with the same news: unavailable that night. Third time lucky, we managed to get an additional dish: moussaka fingers. These were unexpectedly cold, and only the name suggested any connection with the moussaka. How difficult is it to train your staff to know what is available and what is not in an uncomplicated menu? The staff kept showing how uninterested they were. When booking online, I requested a little sweet dessert for my partner's birthday (something habitual here in London for this kind of occasion). There was no trace or acknowledgement of said request, which was disappointing. And when it was time to go, our guys did not even bother to return our good evening wishes (the nice lady who looked after the other tables corresponded did so, though). So, the two-star score goes as this: the first star is the minimum rate Google allows, so everyone gets that. The second stars is for the ambience and river views, which are stunning. And the missing three stars are due to staff, food and overall experience. Dear Westin management: as a 5-star hotel, you mustn't have staff who are not trained or interested in doing their job. And you also have to raise your game with the food and wine on offer.

I along with my parents went to Hithe + Seek, located on the third floor of The Westin London City to celebrate my dad’s birthday. We absolutely loved everything about the place. It’s cozy, perfect for family, couple, friends, celebration, chill outs, afterwork hours. Upon my request, they allocated us the best seat right next to the floor to ceilings window which overlooks river Thames and it feels like you’re in a Titanic/cruise ship. The ambience was top notch, perfect ambience lights, aesthetic and modern decor, comfortable seating arrangements. We ordered Adobo chicken ballotine, Westholme steak sandwich, Red Mullet "Fish & Chips", wines, juices. The cuisines and wines were sumptuous, delicious and listed at an extremely reasonable pricing. I have to especially mention Mr. Giovanni, the manager, who not only was kind, generous, extremely personable but literally made dad’s birthday one of the most memorable events by kindly treating us complimentary cake, wine for my dad’s birthday and came to us multiple times to make sure everything is perfect. He made us feel like home away from home and we had a wonderful conversation with him. A place with such great reputation and facilities certainly needs a special person like him. All the other staffs including the waiter, Mr Nathan who served us was really sweet. It was lovely place!! And we had nice views from our table. The waitress was really helpful and nice, what a shame I didn’t ask for her name. This was on Thursday 13th July in the evening around 18:30. Food was really good and my octopus was delicious! Cocktails was also really good. Ohh thank you so much for my Bday pudding. ☺️

While waiting downstairs we were told by security that only hotel guests could take pictures which is a huge shock and slight a bitter taste in my mouth.This is not how you treat your customers. I almost left as a result but as I had come for the restaurant i couldn’t leave without grabbing some food. The waiters made us feel very welcome. The vegan dishes were exceptional and full of flavour. For non vegans, I highly recommend the octopus. it’s absolutely delicious.

Incredible view of the river and london city, came here to celebrate with my partner and was given great service. Food was incredible especially the Octopus with forbidden rice, definitely would recommend coming here for a special occasion.

Ate here while staying at The Westin. All entrees are small plates but packed full of flavor. The cocktails are AMAZING TOO! We’ve gone twice and the service was on point both times.

A lovely bar within the Westin London City Hotel. Live music is played at 8pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

An outstanding experience. We came here for my wife's birthday and the staff truely made an extra effort for it which was greatly appreciated. The food was excellent and the wine list was impressive.

Felix was a fabulous host and the drinks, delicious! Add in the view and a light snack it was a wonderful way to chill on a Friday evening.

Beautiful bar with fantastic views of the river. The staff were very professional and passionate about their craft which was great to see. Cocktails were really nice and well made. Nice to see snacks with the drinks although maybe they need to rethink the Iitchies. Looking forward to coming back in the summer.

We had such a lovely date night and loved the wine bar. The atmosphere and location are really nice, the menu interesting and varied without being overpriced. Great service and staff.

All food comes from elsewhere prepared. Nothing made fresh in house. If you have an allergy and are not okay with cross contamination, you cannot eat here. If you are okay with cross contamination, they will not serve you anyway. Allergen menu is vague, even the deserts contain mustard... Had one drink and ate elsewhere.

Um.. No. No no no no no. Not at all. Nice waiters but the food is atrociously made and atrociously overpriced. No.
