Hindelinis Cafe in Ribble Valley

Emailed the restaurant to say how disappointed we were with our visit. Received no response. I attended with my boyfriend for afternoon tea which was a gift for my birthday. Firstly, the food was not as advertised with 3 of the desserts/puddings changed from what was on the menu. As in the picture the menu advertises - Strawberry panna cotta - Mini Victoria sponge - Lemon meringue pie - Chocolate caramel tart Instead we were given chocolate brownie, Eton mess and “cheesecake”. Therefore we lost 1 dessert from the 4 advertised and also were not informed of these changes and the food was just given to us as if that was what it should be. It meant we were given eton mess and cheesecake, and as you can imagine with the addition of scone with cream and jam we felt like all we had eaten was the same jam and cream over and over. The cheesecake was just crushed biscuits with cream on top and the Eton mess was just strawberries with cream on top. Additionally the ceaser salad was essentially a pile of lettuce with 2 anchovies on top. You may wonder why we didn’t bring this up at the time which brings me to the fact that the service was very poor. We were served promptly but ignored for most of the meal. Staff saw that we had finished but ignored us with a group of around 5 staff members stood chatting at the bar without attending to us or asking if we needed anything. We waited for that long that we just got up and went to the bar to pay without our table being cleared or the bill offered to us. To say we paid £50 for the meal which was not what was advertised and a very poor standard of service we were very disappointed. Nice restaurant and the portions were large . I had fish and chips , the fish was nice but the batter was a little soft , my wifes salmon salad was good as well. The staff were friendly. The only downside was a little strange in that considering it was on a site , shutting for food at 4pm on a sunday seemed a little strange!!! Also very dog friendly.

Amazing service. Lovely food. We was up for the week and visited here twice both times brilliant. Sitting outside and seeing the deers was just magical.

Lovely place with indoor and outdoor seating. Delicious food Good, helpful friendly service Ralph the deer was a charming surprise! Strolling around the tables looking for treats! Well worth a visit to Hindelinis and Ribblesdale Park.

Really delicious food in a fabulous setting and the staff are always very friendly. Outside seating is great and love the peacocks and wild deer wandering around.

I have had a few casual meetings at this establishment a few times over the past 3/6 months as the location is right between North Yorkshire and the East Lancashire motorway. During my visits we have typically been helped by either Lexi or Emma - both of which are a credit to the company, genuinely they couldn’t do anymore. The breakfast in my opinion is the best around and for us, we will continue to meet here as it ticks all the boxes.

We booked a table for 2 for our Anniversary, 28/07/2024. Credit to the chefs , the food was FAULTLESS ! We have been here quite a few times over the years , this time was by far THE BEST ! Thank you .

Absolutely fabulous service from beginning to end. Arrived at about 10.45am for breakfast and were swiftly seated at a comfortable booth. Ordered 1 full English, 1 vegetarian breakfast, 1 Nutella & marshmallow pancakes and 1 fried eggs on sourdough toast. Impeccable food, amazing service. We will be back soon!

My husband & I called in for brunch last Saturday morning. It wasn't too busy & we were shown to a table. We then waited 15 mins for the waitress to come to take our order. Our drinks came after a further 10 mins, which we had drunk before our food order came after a further 20 mins. I had ordered toast & marmalade. I saw my toast waiting on the serving counter for a while before my husband's order was ready. Consequently, my toast was hard & cold. My husband had ordered poached eggs on toast. Again the toast was cold & the eggs were overdone. Not exactly a good gastronomic experience for pretty basic dishes. All in all it was a terrible experience & we shall not be returning.

Not at all happy eating a lovely hot cooked breakfast with dogs around! Please stop allowing dogs into the restaurant, not only is it unhygienic they were barking as dogs do. Not what we expected to have around us when eating and enjoying a leisurely breakfast. There’s plenty of outside seating for people to sit with their dogs.

Stayed at Ribblesdale Park Lodges over the New Year period and booked into Hindelinis for New Years Eve! We received a very warm welcome from all the staff and were able to book a booth for the evening, as one of our party had slight mobility issues. Nicky the Manageress was so friendly and extremely efficient and the food was outstanding, far superior than we were expecting for an onsite restaurant. We were also glad we treated ourselves to cocktails to start the night off in style, which were absolutely lovely, extremely well made. Then what can we say about the entertainment and atmosphere, it has to be one of the best New Year's Eve's we have every had, the singer and especially the DJ were brilliant. All the staff were so happy and could not do enough for you despite them being so very, very busy and it was lovely that they all joined in bringing in the New Year with their guests with a complimentary glass of fizz! Thank you so much to all of you, what a great team, we will definitely be back!

Fantastic place! The food was excellent, the service was spot on, the staff were very attentive. Will definatley be back for another visit soon. We were lucky enough to see the reindeer on our way out which was lovely and christmassy.

Have been to this place several times, always a bit slow but usually good. Booked in for Sunday breakfast 11am, it was quite busy on arrival. Waitress didnt take order for 25 minutes, coffees came and the nothing until 1pm... 2 hours after we arrived. What came was wrong and then 5 minutes later what did arrive was slop on a plate - raw bacon, cold beans, barely cooked sausages, frozen toast.... just garbage. we told the supervisor and as we were so fed up, we just left. Other people on other tables also did the same, some waiting even longer than us. Very poor, much better service and quality elsewhere, wont be returning. Shame really.

Visited whilst staying at Gisburn Park and was not disappointed! The vibe is so friendly and relaxed! We stopped off everyday during our stay for refreshments after long muddy walks with the dog, who also loved it due to the fusses she got (and treats) from the very dog friendly staff. We’d booked in for food one night and ended up going back. Everything was very fresh, tasty and plentiful! We both had burgers (chicken and beef) which were huge! But cooked to perfection. I also had fish the second night which was equally as delicious. Felt the prices were very reasonable, too and the happy hour is an added bonus. Stayed in a few lodge holiday sites and this onsite restaurant is definitely the best we’ve been to. Thank you 😊

Me and my friend visited recently and just wanted to leave a little review… Our server (BEN), exceptional. The food, sublime. The drinks, perfect pours all round. Affordable, Timeless and Warming. This little slice of heaven is nestled in a perfect little pocket of the Ribble Valley, and is a must visit!

We visited Hindelinis on Saturday night for our mum’s 80th birthday. Staff at the restaurant supported me in ordering the food in advance so that everything went to plan. The food came out on time, the staff were efficient, friendly and helpful at all times. My husband and I had the fish pie and both thought it was one of the best we’d had! Everyone really made sure that mum’s evening was special. We’ll be back next year!

They were so busy but still managed to find us a sit on the sofas - which was best seat in the place. (I had not booked) the staff were so welcoming and lovely, the food was amazing and reasonably priced. The staff were spot on ! I never write reviews tbh but I couldn’t help myself 😊

We visited here on a Monday night whilst staying in one of the lodges on site. Initially I thought the menu seemed a little limited but after reading so many good reviews we still really wanted to visit. We are so glad we did. We both ordered the chicken goujons to start, and what a treat they were. Fresh, succulent chicken, seasoned perfectly and incredibly moorish - I could have eaten them all night! We then ordered the fillet steak and the stir fry. My partner said the fillet was one of the tastiest he has ever eaten, and my stir fry was also delicious - although vegetarian it was packed full of flavour and didn't miss not having meat in there. My partner ordered the toffee sundae and I ordered some ice cream to finish. Both were lovely, as was the local lager. The waiting on staff were friendly and polite, the kitchen were hard working and talented and the general atmosphere in the restaurant was relaxed and welcoming. Although the service was prompt and we weren't kept waiting long for food, we didn't feel rushed. We would definitely return next time we come to stay at Ribblesdale Park.

Good food, nice people, chaotic service. Over an hours wait for breakfast and not as ordered when it did arrive. It's an expensive breakfast, and the experience wasn't worth the money, sadly.

Hindelinis is my go to restaurant when l have family and friends visiting. Amazing food as always, the Friday night fish super is fantastic value and the huge portion of fish is so fresh with the home made accompanied with hindelinis homemade tartar sauce which is to die for. Followed by there sundaes. As usual the whole meal was 5*. Friendly attentive staff makes you feel so special.

Bad day? We have visited here a few times over the last few years and it’s always been excellent but today was not a good day, poached eggs rock hard, black pudding not the same quality as usual and overall breakfast was cold , butter had melted to oil so could not spread on toast , also we sat outside as we had dogs and we were bombarded with wasps, must be a nest nearby needs sorting , we will come again but hopefully it was just a one off bad day for the chef?

While staying at Ribblesdale Lodges regularly we have eaten here every evening. The food is amazing and I’ve just had a Chocolate Sundae which was perfection. Dave highly rated the All Day Breakfast too. A visit is highly recommended

What a fantastic place, we had a breakfast meal, a belated 80th birthday for me, great and ever so polite staff. I couldn't eat all on my plate. This place could be amazing! We went one late afternoon for nibbles and a drink which was lovely. Staff fab. However we went for breakfast at 10am and the staff could not be bothered. A young lady seated us and was our waitress. We have an almost 9months old. The highchair was FILTHY and clearly hadn’t been cleaned. I advised it hadn’t been cleaned and if she wanted me to I would do it. I asked for cloth and some spray. I was given a cloth and had to ask again for some spray to be told “it’s there”. Instead of a simple “I’m sorry, I will come and clean it” (there were only two other guests at this point, hardly busy). The side of the table where baby was sat was also covered in food. Knives/forks/spoons/glasses/cups not the cleanest. The young girl wouldn’t even look at me after this even though I was very polite about it. We ordered a veggie and traditional breakfast. My husbands bacon was absolutely cremated but the rest was lovely. My pot with beans in had dried on mushy peas on the inside so I didn’t eat them. No one checked on our table so I mentioned it to the young man on the way out. In all honesty the lack of cleanliness put me off which is a real shame as this place could be absolutely lovely. It’s the fifth time we have stayed at the park and the past few years we’ve always found cleanliness and the attitude of some staff a bit of an issue. They just seem not bothered. It’s a real shame as some of the food here is amazing. We did opt not to have an evening meal here and I am glad as it isn’t the cheapest of places. The basics such as cleanliness and attentiveness need to be addressed to charge such prices, it is after all part of the experience!

The food was lovely, the staff were pleasant and efficient but some of the customers...how the staff put up with them I'll never know. The table behind us arrived and after 30mins (and two pints) started saying they had been waiting over an hour and started demanding free drinks and snacks. The table behind them was screaming back at their screaming kid and having a conversation so we could loudly we could hardly hear our own. I would eat here again but hopefully not at the same time as highly unpleasant recent table neighbours. You could not pay me enough to continue to smile and be as pleasant as the staff were.

From the moment we walked in we were greeted by the beautiful Sammy who showed us to our table in the conservatory. We were presented with the menu and continued to order drinks and food . Our food and drinks arrived and I must say categorically it was the best Fillet steak I've ever had!!!. My wife also said her dish was beautiful. On the whole a superb relaxing tasty day out and I will definitely return and anyone reading this we would 100% recommend.
