Hinchliffe's Farm Shop in Kirklees

Staff were super friendly but some of the products were somewhat questionable on ingredients. Banana milkshake filled with sugar and E numbers is not what I’d expect of a farm shop

Oh dear! what’s happened to the quality of your cherry scones ??! Bought 3x packs and on cutting them I discovered virtually NO fruit within (a few odd pieces at the edge only, non in the middle) - very disappointing to say the least; they would have been better from Morrisons at 1/2 the price ….

Great Farm Shop, large variety of products available from gifts, homeware, fresh produce, store cupboard essentials, frozen foods, pet supplies, gardening supplies, chickens, butchers, fresh deli foods are delicious (hot and cold menu), great quality, very friendly service.

Great selection of delectable goodies at as good a price as you will find that quality.

Nice homeware section, amazing meat counter and you can buy the epic cakes they sell at the rusty bull to take home 😋 I recommend the vanilla slice, it's epic

Cold coffee and tea but was offered another, which was fine Good selection of cakes. Wasn't tempted by the plants but there was a good selection.

Great food and niknaks, fantastic staff and quality merchandise. The butcher is amazing with outstanding quality and the pastries were top quality. Will be back regularly

Brilliant farm shop with quality products.

Such a great range of produce, price matches value which is very good, we had lunch at the Rusty Bull, the best hog burger I have ever had, my wife had the hot beef sandwich, made us think we had just finished a main lunch meal, great.

Lovely farmshop with great local produce. It was quite expensive, though.

Just called in at the farm shop to have a look and see if there was anything to take home for tea in the butchers and cake selection. There was no other customers walking around the store, but not one member of staff attempted to even make eye contact with either me or my little boy, yet alone smile and say, “Hello” we walked out because of how rude this is and you have lost yourself a customer. What a way to get custom!

Great location, beautiful shop and butchers. Amazing burgers! I even grabbed some lovely Angus & Oink rubs!

Top quality products at top quality prices !! Be very careful when buying the bread because on four separate occasions I've picked up tea cakes and thrown them in my basket and then got home and realised I've been charged for 4 when there was only 2 in the bag!! Check the label on the bag carefully before purchasing because they don't check when they scan it and the prices are steep enough without paying double for bread.

Best farm shop ever. Everything you could want and the restaurant was superb as well.

Very nice cafe and farm shop. Bit pricey but you pay for the quality of the goods. Update just been today actually, i must say the cafe is very nicely done, inside and out with a great view of castle hill in Huddersfield. Worth a visit. Just for the cakes 👀😋.

Nice shop to visit for your food stuffs. We had a vanilla slice which was wonderful. Attached to a nice cafe but there is a bit of a wait at weekends but it was to be expected.

Not the cheapest but you get what you pay fo . Quality beautiful meat fabulous cakes. Very helpful staff. They always help me with a smile to carry my shopping to my car as I am disabled. Great place.

Bought a thickish slice of shin beef last week it cost approx £4 for the one slice and I've come to cook it today and it had a massive blob of fat attached to it. So all i can say is never again Hinchliffe Farm shop you can keep your rubbish meat.😀

Had a lovely full English breakfast. Very enjoyable.

Popped in for coffee and a snack. The coffee was delicious and the hunters biscuits we had were chewy and sweet. Great range of coffee, tea, alcohol and snacks and the view is lovely too.

It's a hidden gem of a farm shop, we originally went to buy laying hens, but were encouraged to go into the shop as its so inviting and busy, would definitely recommend

Had blt sandwich in the rusty Bull, bacon cold fatty, I asked for it crispy wasn't even told it was cold bacon and no taste

Farm shop is lovely, but I do not rate the restaurant. Passable food, with cold sandwiches that should really be hot. Who wants cold bacon? 🥓

I took someone here with mobility issues and was very pleased with the car parking and access to the shop,he was able to zoom around the shop getting his Valentine's gifts.The staff were very friendly and the pork pie I got was excellent.

good morning, I don't have a good opinion about this company, I drove a long way today, after arriving it turns out that there are no chickens for sale, so let the company clearly write on the main website that there are no chickens for sale, and not mislead people, I am disappointed , I will definitely not go there again and when we recommend it

Always buy my meat at this farm shop but after buying this week's rump steak thought I should leave a review wow 👌 👏 got the steaks on offer 2 huge cuts enough for easy 4 people but I managed to eat one myself it was the best steak I've ever had and value for money you would never beat. TOP TOP QUALITY 👏

My family has been going here for at least 3 years. But all of a sudden today, we get asked by the ‘owner’ to never come again. Asking for a reason, he said we stole. Proving him wrong, instead of saying sorry, he was being stubborn and his new excuse was we were “looking around too much” and still not allowed to return.

Some Nice Produce, But Terrible Service The farm shop has a good variety, nice baked goods and butchery. the Rusty Bull again has a good menu and the area is extremely pleasant. However, we’ve given the service a generous 2 STARS as it really ruins our experience almost every time. Terrible attitude and unacceptable service from not only the younger staff in the Rusty Bull (who are the worst we’ve experienced anywhere, ever) but also the maturer staff on the Cakes / Pies Counter. We come from an area of the country that have similar farm shops, with an abundance of similar establishments, and it’s fair to say if there were more in this area we would avoid giving The Rusty Bull (in particular) any business at all. You’re busy because you have no immediate competition locally. Rusty Bull, give your staff some training PLEASE some people like to enjoy the experience, not just the food!

Expensive and poorly cooked food. Sausage was raw, bacon undercooked, pancakes dry and almost unedable. Pancakes came with the minimum of maple syrup and had to £2.25 for additional small jug. Coffee was cold and poor quality. Service was good though with the two waitresses helpful and attentive. Fair to say we won't be returning.

Great farm shop and impressive selection of wines. Somewhat on the pricey side but hard to resist.

The farm shop was well stocked with lovely food, relishes, stock and meat. We had a good lunch outside in the cafe seating area. Lovely sandwiches. Hot beef a must. We will be back all the way from Wakefield.

It was my first time going to Hinchcliffe's Farm Shop a few days ago and wasn't disappointed. They have an amazing range of products with such fab quality. The beef sandwich and éclairs were to die for! The chocolate in the éclair wasn't like the usual cheap stuff you usually get on them. They have a good size car park and it was very busy. Just proves how popular this farm shop is :-)

Absolutely lovely place. Stopped of for some light lunch. Had a cheese and pickle sandwich and cappuccino and it was splendid. Nice surroundings and farm shop full of interesting quirky foods and gifts. Worth a visit definitely

Very disappointed for a so called farm shop that dosent stock calves liver. I called on monday to be told they had none left and were getting some more on Wednesday so i called again today been Wednesday to be told this time they're getting some on Friday when i explained what i was told on Monday his answer was we might have some on friday we only get whatevere they send us.... Really?? To run a business is it not wise to order what your short of? I'll use the butchers shoo in Honley in future. My advice use this farm shop if you want a fancy jar of honey or an expensive bottle of wine...

Fabulous breakfast and friendly staff. Nice outdoor area but the inside is a little gloomy - shame they can't do anything to give it a little atmosphere. However I'll be back again. Food is of a very high standard

Had my staff meeting and birthday breakfast here, the coffee, food and service is excellent. The staff kept coming over to check we where happy, the price is reflected in the quality of the food which was cooked to perfection. The tables are well spaced out with outdoor seating area that is also comfortable. The decor is modern and nice with a vintage farmhouse vibe ✨️ 👌

The Hinchliffes chocolate cake is just too good best I've had ever.

Bought 4 laying hens from here. The chap tending to us was very helpful Also had lunch which was delicious

Amazing place, top tier staff who are polite and can’t help enough, very informative, beautiful views and amazing food. The farm shop its self is very impressive with hundreds of choices and items . Can’t wait to go again! Highly recommend the cakes ! And the home made lemonade!

Great farm shop and good food at the Rusty Bull bar that is attached. Only reason it wasn't a five is the wait for our order of drinks and food took a little too long . Other than that spot on !

Blunt cutlery, sausage harder than a brick. Bacon swimming in fat. Mushroom so over cooked it turned to dust. Worst breakfast ever

A fabulous selection of lots of delicious things!!!! I've had their fresh made sandwiches and cakes. Haven't tried the Rusty Bull cafe yet but it's on my list.

Friendliest of friendly. The curds are second to none. The Kick-A** mature cheddar is a factor in my 5000 mile journey to Yorkshire. Yum!

Enjoyed it very much, a good selection of good for a farm shop, no excellent selection. Coffee next door was really nice too.

Very disappointing visit late Monday morning 1/5/23. 8 of us sat outside for 10 minutes then went inside to ask for a cloth and cleaning spray, cleaned the table then returned them. After 20 minutes of not being served my cousin went inside again and asked if someone could take our order. Ten minutes later no one came. So after half an our we decided to leave. Not one member of staff came outside for the whole time we were there. The restaurant wasn’t even busy, inside or out. The service has been slow on every visit. We won’t be returning.

Friday 28th April. My Husband and I went for breakfast this morning. We ordered 2 regular breakfast with no beans and an extra egg and toast each. I ordered 2 softly poached eggs. When it came the server asked if everything looked ok and I looked at my eggs and they were like hard boiled so I sent them back. The second lot were better but not perfect. Half way through eating I said shouldn’t we have a hash brown??? Having asked one of the waitress, we were brought our hash browns! The bacon was undercooked and re heated. £47.90 for two breakfasts! £1.50 for an extra egg each, £1.50 for a slice of toast each. We weren’t offered a replacement for our beans, we weren’t offered anything off our bill, no free drink, nothing! The one star is for the waitress who dealt with all our issues very professionally. We were very disappointed with the whole experience and won’t be returning.

Meat and potato pies are amazing, nice big chunks of meat in each one.

We love Hinchliffe's Farm Shop and the Rusty Bull. I often take my 97 year old grandmother who is in a wheelchair and the staff are always so helpful - nothing is too much trouble. Thank you!
