I can't believe a doctor send me home when he takes blood pressure, which was 149/109, and your pulse is 120, and tells you to take paracetamol after he does an ECG and says it's okay, that it's not an emergency, and that he only treats emergencies. this is my experience with them

Just like to say a huge thank you to all the staff at Hinchingbrooke, had a visit to A&E, for their attention sincere care and friendly relaxed way of going about things. Also big thanks to the ambulance crew, although did not need their lift to the hospital, the way they made me feel relaxed and able to get across my problem and their sound advice, which I followed. You may have to wait a while, not the only person with a problem, but never forgotten and you do get there. Once again thank you all.

If your thinking of having your baby here, don't. We had our baby here, on a stupidly understaffed and overpopulated ward. Baby delivered prematurely, high risk mother. No protocols were followed, she should have had a pre elected c section, then they released the baby home at just 34 weeks when she wasn't feeding. Needless to say we were readmitted to addenbrookes where the care was a million times better and we stayed until our baby was term and feeding correctly. I have made an official complaint and I am yet to receive a response.

I come from a thread world country south africa and never had to sit on the floor in any waiting room of any A&E the United Kingdom 🇬🇧 is supposed to be so much better ha ha ha . Don't get me wrong I live and work in the UK and love most things about the country. However there is really something wrong when you sick and injured have to sit o the floor waiting for 5 hours to be seen by any one .......... As a tax paying contributing citizens we have to start asking the right questions.

This hospital is small, but quite nice. I don't go here anymore as I've moved away. I feel I need to say, that if you have problems or a complaint about the staff or service, the only people who can impartially address hospital complaints are the PALS Department (Patient Advice and Liaison Services) they are available in all hospitals, but surprisingly not many people know they exist unless something major happens. The PALS Team are there to sort out every calibre of problems, no matter how big or small and support the patients all the way. Having previously worked here and many other hospitals as a Medical Secretary for years, most NHS staff are kind, caring, thorough and helpful. Obviously, you get good and bad medical professionals, services and other medical staff, such is the nature of human beings and life. Hospital systems and the humans working there can and do get it wrong. It's awful hearing when hospital services especially A&E aren't as efficient as they should be, but many problems and issues that do go wrong sadly go unheard. Anyone reading this or those who have awful experiences, please complain to the hospitals PALS Department, so it can be investigated thoroughly by them and dealt with accordingly, your role is just to point out what happened, nothing more. If you do this, you can help others including you in the future, so it hopefully doesn't happen to anyone else again.

I have been seen twice this week at hinchingbrooke for two procedures, a CT colonoscopy and today an endoscopy. I would like to thank both clinics for the superb care and understanding they have shown me. I was incredibly worried about the endoscopy, I was made to feel calm and comfortable during the procedure. Afterwards I was taken back to my cabin where I was checked on and given drinks and biscuits. Thank you to the CT scanning department and the endoscopy clinic for your wonderful care.

Went there after waisting all my day. From emergency to local surgery to pharmacist. I learn something if you can crawl out of the house it's an emergency. I was simply shocked. Anyway if you got an emergency and if local surgery are in St Ives you likely to skip that as then are a joke . Just over two hours wait but least I was seen. They were quite busy. I dare to say this but it's because the incompetence of local surgeries. Since most doctors start run this as business they are simply a mess. Unfortunately Google haven't told them you can't do the job look for other profession where care is the main role. St Ives River port surgery should shut the doors .

So to bother you but I would like to make a complaint about your ambulance crew who dropped of someone in GROVE COURT tonight ,don't respect any of the other people who live in the block of 5 flats. We have a secretary door . When they have dropped the person off , they slam it shut but they don't have to slam it shut all they have to do is pull it too, or when the door is almost shut just pull it too. So it doesn't slam shut. Some of us work nights and sleep in the morning, after noon, and part of the evening. So could tell your people not to slam the security door at all. If you think you are professional, I don't think you are. Also you don't act like one.

Awful experience, my son was rushed into this A&E department after being blue lighted due to not breathing well. We got seen quickly, but my son pulled through, had amazing oxygen levels and they jumped at the chance to send him home. Didn’t try to run tests to see what could have caused it. To top it off my son is fed through a feeding tube in his stomach and doesn’t take anything orally as he will just inhale it into his lungs. They decided to send us home with a numbing throat spray which we said we can’t give to him as he’s non oral. He will not take anything in his mouth. They ignored both me and my partner and still hurried us on home. Socking night staff, god forbid if we have to go back in the future.

Fiona from Jasmine triage was absolutely terrible! Unsympathetic, patronising and I feel most likely prejudiced towards Indians. My wife had an infection 4 days after having a C Section. She could not walk and needed a wheelchair. Fiona said to me in a patronising tone infront of the other midwives, surely she can walk to the toilet. Does she not do it at home. She refused to give us a step for my wife to get down from the bed, even though they had one available. When I asked her to help me to change my baby's nappy, she said change your own baby's nappy yourself.

I have to start by saying the day shift nurses and doctors were absolutely lovely and such a credit to the hospital. They were understanding more than willing to chat and very attentive. However the night nurses on the short stay unit that I was in completely mocked me for being on the autism spectrum. Even going as far as referring to me as “that autism kid” I have never felt so belittled before and I am extremely disappointed that these people are working in a place of care and treated me like this. The next morning you could hear them slating me for being heightened and saying how I should have been sent home because I annoyed everyone . I was a vulnerable autistic 17 year old in their care and doctors had said I had to be there. I am so saddened this happened and I honestly think these night nurses really discredit the rest of the hospital staffing.

Have used this hospital on occasions over 30 years, both for myself and my family. Never experienced anything but the very best, considerate, friendly highly skilled attention Amenities are good for a hospital this size and parking reasonably easy. Had emergency major abdominal, life saving operation here and more recently plastic surgery for skin cancer. All brilliantly done from my perspective as a patient. Very strange experience recently though which is worth mentioning. Plastics said they would book me for a biopsy to check out two small remaining spots. When the appointment came through the booking service, I was referred to Peterborough for a Saturday appointment. I attended and was treated,on time by a very friendly and clearly skilled consultant. When I asked if this was a waiting list reduction at weekends, the consultant said it helped but was a side hustle to fund a new house they were having built. A couple of weeks later the NHS booking service called me to book me for the operation and said it would be at Peterborough and there were no appointments at Hinchingbrooke. I queried why no appointment to discuss the procedure and why I had not had the biopsy results and if they knew what surgery I would need. They agreed to have a clinician call me back who said I should have had the results and couldn’t say what surgery I would need until I arrived for the procedure as they wouldn’t know what was required until then. I was unhappy at being separated from the excellent team at Hinchingbrooke and a little wary of the unknown nature of this proposed surgery. So, I called Hinchingbrooke and discovered there are appointments at Hinchingbrooke and I didn’t need to go to Peterborough and could book with the team and hospital comfortingly familiar to me. But my usual consultant would need a preview appointment to check what was required and to explain the procedure to me. I explained that an appointment had been confirmed at Peterborough. They told me the booking service had been hived off to a private organisation and that the weekend appointments at Peterborough were undertaken by a private consortium of consultants from nearby hospitals doing operations at weekends, called TCS. Which was why Peterborough couldn’t tell me who would be doing the surgery until the day. They cancelled my appointment with this TCS consortium and booked me back on track with the amazing consultant and his team who have looked after me for two years now GREAT RELIEF and a good amount of stress now disappeared now I am back in the care of the very best hospital I have ever experienced and I’ve lived in a three countries and various UK locations, so it’s a view from experience. Never had bad NHS treatment anywhere but Hinchingbrooke are just that bit special due the staff there.

We took my 3 yo child to the A&E, last weekend after a bad fall. The doc that visited her was really superficial, didn't check her properly , just made her do some movements with her arm and sent her back home with ice pack ( ours) and paracetamol, despite the child was complaining for the pain. Few days have passed and the situation got worse. My child couldn't move the arm and was complaining constantly for the pain on her shoulder. We took her back, and after more hours waiting, this time they decided to do more deep investigation ( x-ray) and found out she broke her collarbone. If the first doc would have done the job properly, my child would have been spared by pain and possibly repercussions on her health.

Took a friend AnE with eye lose vision due to a medical issue she had been diagnosed with by a neurologist (special doctor). They told her to go AnE if she had any symptoms including; vision lost, pressure on the eyes or nausea. Which she had experienced today, so took her straight away. Doctor/nurse we saw didn’t know of her condition or anything to do with it, so we had to explain it. They still didn’t understand and had to keep leaving the room due to not knowing the answers to the questions we were asking. They then came back with eye drops and told us she had conjunctivitis, which I challenged - He wasn’t able to tell me what conjunctivitis was nor the symptoms. After that I asked for someone else with information to help us - then they decided we didn’t actually need the eye drops and a CT scan was needed immediately. Absolute awful experience, will never be going there again.

Sadly have a lot experience with the children's A&E department here, however thank god for them! The nurses and consultants weve seen are a credit to the NHS, considering they are overworked and under appreciated by those that should support them. Thank you for always being so wonderful with our son and giving us an alternative to Lister or Bedford!! Not the same experience!!

All the staff work so hard looking after people. I love the NHS and I am so grateful for it. Just EPIC.

Husband had a outpatient consultation with a Mr Lwin in the orthopaedic dept. We were both extremely happy with it as he spent plenty of time asking questions, doing an examination and explaining everything in detail, and showing us the xray and scans. Very professional and pleasant person.

Had to attend A&E this afternoon. Having had a very unpleasant experience at Peterborough A&E I chose to come here and the difference was like night and day. From the moment I walked in, I was warmly welcomed by two compassionate and caring receptionists, cared for by a lovely triage nurse and a gentle and kind male nurse and then seen by the most wonderful, thorough doctor. Yes, I had to wait several hours, but everyone did. However, the waiting time was made so much easier because of the calm and kind manner of all the staff who genuinely wanted to help. The doctor also said if things got worse not to hesitate to come back and has made a personal referral for me in order to try to expedite things. Really impressed. Thanks to all.

An often busy outlet with long queues, however there is always an infectious smile from the staff especially Erin and Zoe. The shop is stuffed at the back of the Spar shop and there is poor phone signal at that point in the shop making the Subway app slow to load. Their ability to make a tasty fresh and enjoyable sandwich is great. Thank you for providing the food to get me through the afternoon albeit a bit to regularly.
