Easy to find as it’s just off the road, a bit noisy with traffic zooming by but who cares it was nice to sit outdoors and eat a deliciously huge veggie breakfast with nice touches like braised vine tomatoes, spinach and pepper . The waitresses were really friendly and served us quickly and efficiently.

Where do I start describing one of the worst breakfasts I've ever had? Maybe the fact that we had to wait 45 minutes for it to be served then a further 5 minutes for cutlery and my wife's tea to arrive. When it eventually turned up the sausages and beans were practically cold, the fried bread was soggy, the whites of the eggs were snotty and they somehow managed to brew a nice dark mug of tea with absolutely no taste to it. I appreciate they were quite busy but this really was a waste of a Sunday morning and £25. This may have been a one off blip but personally I won't be going back again to find out

My girlfriend and I chose this place for our all-day breakfast spot of the day. Just down the road and with good ratings we had to give it a go. My missus got a Greasy Monkey breakfast and i got the Builders Breakfast (XL). The first thing to note was the atmosphere, it had a local, homely feel to it and just from talking to staff you could tell they made everyone feel welcome! Service was really fast! A perfect amount of time to look at the menu and a drink, our server who was a lovely woman around 40s (i make this specification in case she sees this in which case thank you, you were lovely!) took our order and was really jolly despite it being a busy and hot day. She brought the card machine just after we ordered which i actually prefer than right at the end of the meal. This meant that my partner and I could leave whenever we liked after we finished eating! Food came out around 10 minutes after ordering, piping hot and ready to eat. I heard the server we had say to another table that all their produce is fresh and locally sourced and you could taste that difference. My big breakfast came with unlimited drink, a nice touch! Will be 100% coming back. It was everything you could ever want from a place like this. It was rustic, great food and lovely service. 10/10 in my eyes!! If I was to pick for improvement and this might have been sold as an extra but i didn’t see it, but i love a piece of Black Pudding with my fry-ups. I know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea but maybe something like ‘Add a slice of black pudding for an extra £1.50’. I know i would have paid it and i’m sure a lot of other people would. Like i said, not a gripe with the place at all, just a fun extra i would have liked to see. (Again this might already be the case i might have been too blind) Thanks again!

Lovely cafe with lovely staff. The food is earthy and freshly cooked, all day breakfast available and they have an option to build your own breakfast which is great. Simple, home cooked food.

Came here yesterday at around 9am and had the Builder's breakfast. The girl who was serving me tried to shortchange me straight off the bat so a very bad look for her. Wasn't waiting for very long before being served and the proportions were very good. The beans however were served in a small pot not on the plate which is very unnecessary and when i tried to pour the beans onto the plate the pot was piping hot nearly making me drop the pot. It was rather busy in there for 9am which was a surprise. The bacon was way too hard and crispy, i prefer my bacon to be soft and tender. The sausages were excellent although quite small, the eggs were fantastic the tomatoes were quite good although i didn't like them being on a stem which made it hard to separate them. The sauté potatoes were cooked which i didn't like so ended up not touching them. the mushrooms tasted great. The atmosphere was quite homely with them playing a lot of classic rock on the radio. Overall this place is decent but nothing to write home about so i don't think i'll be returning

Very friendly, have ordered from here before, they were quite busy at time of collection, never the less they were friendly and smiley! I think unfortunately due to being busy, 3 sausages got forgotten about in one of the breakfasts I ordered. That said not a reoccurring theme as normally when they’re not packed they’re spot on!

I got a nice English fry up which is exactly what I was expecting with a cup of tea. It was all cooked nicely and I finished it. The waitress wasn't overly attentive as after waiting for my bill for so long I had to get up and find her to pay at the til. Not the end of the world though...... If you fancy a challenge try the Builders Breakfast, it's a beast!!!

2 of us had a breakfast at about 10:30, it was quite busy and I think we got the last available table. I almost ordered the large breakfast but after ordering it and ordering a cup of tea I upgraded to the large builders breakfast which had extra food and unlimited hot drinks for an extra £3. The food was really good and plenty of it. The service was friendly and efficient. The place wasn't posh but any means, a bit like eating in a conservatory really with an outside toilet. But it was clean and tidy and enjoyed my visit.

Great traditional food. The staff are friendly and welcoming. I had a regular sized full English breakfast and it was a incredibly generous size. My colleague also had a vegetarian breakfast that he also enjoyed. If you're looking for good, well priced, proper food, this is it.

Have been coming to this cafe for years. It is definitely better, it’s good you are taking on board what customers say. Will continue to use for years to come no doubt. Also a shout out to Jill and Lucy, the place wouldn’t be the same without them, the atmosphere has been so much better since they have been working there. Keep up the good work.

food we have had is fantastic. however very disappointed we can't ever get delivery anymore. I can't drive and medically can't leave the house some days and their delivery was always a nice treat. been months where I've not been able to order.

The breakfast here is absolutely superb. One of my favourites in the area. I say “one of” simply because there are a small number of breakfasts available in and around Norwich now, which are equally excellent and I find it difficult to choose between them, but the Hilltop is definitely up there sharing the number one slot. Every single item on the plate was perfect. Quality butcher’s sausage and bacon (no cheap bulk catering rubbish here), eggs cooked perfectly with a good quantity of runny yolk to dip the beautifully crisp sauté potatoes in. Rich baked beans served in an individual dish, soft and perfectly cooked whole button mushrooms and toast cooked to a gorgeous golden brown. Tomatoes were the cherry variety cooked on their vine, which was a lovely touch and looked fantastic on the plate. Sauces are top quality Heinz and HP in PROPER BOTTLES!…there’s a huge point scored there for not using sachets which are a pet hate of mine! The current pictures here on google, although still good, do not really reflect the small but excellent improvements which have put this breakfast up into my joint number one slot (Scooter’s in Acle being my other personal favourite if anyone is wondering) since those pictures were taken. Hilltop’s breakfast was much better value than Scooter’s though, costing a mere £9.75 as opposed to £13.50 for a comparable offering at Scooter’s. Only 3 stars for atmosphere? Well,I figure the stars should stand for: * poor ** fair *** good **** very good ***** excellent I have to be honest. It’s a lovely little place. It’s clean and tidy, but it is still pretty much just a conservatory with a decking area. Depending on the day, there are probably cosier and more inviting environments to eat in. On a sunny day, it’ll be lovely, but on a wet and grey day like the day of my visit, not so much. So it’s still good and therefore an honest 3 stars. However, if it’s the standard of the food and value for money you’re interested in, then you’ll be very pleased indeed.

The hilltop was recommended to us, wasn't dissapointed, the staff were very friendly, chatty and served a wonderful fried breakfast, many options available on the menu, tables cleaned regularly and a prompt service. The owner has produced a gem of a cafe hope it continues to be so. We look forward to our next visit. Thank you to the staff and chef for an enjoyable breakfast.

Went in with about 30 work lot so thing were going to get tuff , although very stressful the ladies serving where calm and still had a laugh with us ...Good food, great service.. unfortunately the owner was not so great , having constant a pop at the ladies serving because he was getting stressed out. Not very professional.. but the 5 stars is for the amazing services and to be fair , the grub was pretty good too

Had a breakfast here on our way back from a seaside holiday this morning and we genuinely left grinning from ear to ear. The staff here are absolutely lovely, food was spot on, portions are generous, other customers are clearly all regulars creating a friendly atmosphere and the prices are amazing! Cheapest breakfast we've ever had, hands down! Couldn't recommend more, a must try.

One of my favourite cafes. If a cafe has a bottle of real HP sauce on the table, it's a good one. Food is great. Had the odd problem over the years but rectified immediately. Always accommodating, even for a group of 9 off-road motorcyclists. The Sunday roast is lovely too, always best to book.

Fantastic food, very tasty Still piping hot when it got here, very helpful customer service; just eat app did the usual thing and assumed it delivered before it was but a quick call to a helpful young lady who explained that occasionally the app can be a bit premature and all was sorted :) 10/10 would order again

We generally go for breakfast on Saturdays and decided to try the Sunday Roast. We had a very enjoyable meal that we couldn't fault and the price is amazing. We will definitely be back.

Great tasting breakfast delivered on time and hot.

Sat waiting for 15 minutes before our order was taken, then waited a further 35 minutes before our food came out. People who ordered after us was served their food before us. Not impressed

Visited recently but no chance of returning. Prices on website looked favourable but actual table menu prices were higher - website prices need to be updated. Coffee was only warm not hot - this was instant coffee so it shouldn't be difficult to boil a kettle, £1.99 (website £1.50) Breakfast was quite nice but unfortunately not hot either, £12.75 (website £9.75). Nobody else in the cafe during our visit, staff not very engaging nor attentive. We sat indoors.

The quality of food and customer service is great! However operationally Hilltop is failing majorly. Never properly staffed for delivery and when ordering a meal with extra bacon, it arrived with absolutely no bacon. Order if you don't mind waiting, or chancing that items will be missed from your order.

Lovely grub and great sausages as always! 1 small annoyance is that the beans cover everything else and it can be messy trying to dish up... also we never eat the bread so would happily see that excluded from the 'inclusive' bit of the ordering! 😉

That was the best fry up I've had for years. Food tasted lovely and was piping hot and I live outside of rackheath. Absolutely love the black pudding. The lady who came to the door was really polite and quick delivery

We decided to pop in for breakfast on fathers day last minute. Great to find out it is dog friendly and even brought out a bowl of water for our pooch. The food was lovely and my partner was very happy with his free fathers day beer. The staff were really lovely and friendly. Would definitely recommend and am sure we'll be back again soon.

What a great place, between business meetings we dropped in, what a great choice it was. We had great food to set up our day met with fantastic service (who engaged everyone with the same friendly cheer), making an enjoyable visit for all. Difficult road to get back onto, the only downside.

Perfect just what we wanted and nice and hot

We arrived wanting to eat in and were assisted by multiple members of staff. We were told that eating in had been trialled, without much success, however, the service was brilliant. The food was brilliant. Steak was cooked to perfection. Highly recommend!

A really nice venue for breakfast sat outside and was quiet warm so worth while, could sit inside if weather was bad. Breakfasts are huge and tasty staff were very plesent and can't do enough for you Jill said to say she was the best 🤣 but to be honest all the waitresses were great, shame the only negative point is the main road to Wroxham was so busy and noisy but can't change the location so thats life, 10/10 for the Hillside cafè

Tasty food, outstanding service and a nice atmosphere. I must say I'm impressed. Service was prompt and articulate. They clearly pride themselves on good ingredients simply made, which I think is a recipe for success. The member of staff had to deal with a few curveballs from me, and handled them expertly and politely. I'll be returning for sure.

All breakfast produce is grilled, not fried which is good. You can build your own breakfast which is a nice change, rather than omit items from the regular menu. You can have exactly what you want, they will even poach the eggs for you rather than fried or scrambled. A little gem of a place and good value for money & friendly staff.

Good home cooked food plenty of it too well worth the money

Our go-to Cafe in the Sprowston/Rackheath area. Always get the English breakfast, the sausages and black pudding are good compared to other cafes. Only reason for a 4 star service rating is they've gotten our orders wrong a couple of times.

The food was set to be delivered between 12:05 and 12:25 the food arrived at 12:50 and the restaurant had to be prompted to remind of the time. When the food arrived it was cold and the hot drink wasn’t what I ordered.

First time visit. Personally it didn't agree with us. I'd give it another go though .service great. Couple synthetic hairs on my bread and butter. Could of come off anything .food tasted good. Extra large does weigh in at £12.50 with tea though.
