Very welcoming, many things to do, events, dances and a great cafe. If you go once you will go over and over again.

Have been going here for years and I have never been disappointed with the food or the service. Everyone is so welcoming and friendly and Anita, the cook, makes amazing food. Try her quiches and pies and you will be coming back for more!

This Victorian school; converted into a community centre, has a delightfully nostalgic and a great community feel. Art and children's activities run alongside a local market and tea dance. And a fantastic cafe, Anita and her crew provide really tasty food - served with a smile.

Happened across this very active community centre in Newhaven. It has a fabulous cafe which not only serves the local community with delicious nutritious food but does it with flair. If I lived nearer I'd eat there daily. Highly recommended.

This is a really lovely cafe and tea room, particularly in the summer when you can use the courtyard garden. The real negative about it is the appalling way they dress their waitresses. They are all in Victorian style maids uniforms with aprons, so disgraceful in this day and age that women are expected to dress in this way. I’ve never seen any male staff there but if there were would they really be dressed as Victorian servants? So derogatory to women I’ve now started to go to the Green Welly down the road which at least appears to treat their staff with more respect. In light of the owners response I would like to add that I had no idea this was a 1940s themed cafe, obviously there’s a Vera Lynne room but otherwise it’s just a quirky cafe. Not sure where the piles of cakes, tea garden, huge breakfasts and avocado smash fit into a 40s ration book theme but these are welcome additions if not the treatment of serving staff.
