Wonderful tea room, gift shop and b&b. We stayed for two nights in their lovely b&b - immaculate, spacious and very comfortable. Tea, coffee machine, fridge and a complementary bottle of local wine. Really lovely hosts too.

We called in for afternoon tea, with 2 dogs, when it had just started to rain, we asked if the dogs could come inside to the tea room and were delighted to find they were very welcome, even given a biscuit each and a bowl of water. The afternoon tea was delicious, with tea served in lovely china cups. The place is full of character and despite a previous strange review, the couple running this well stocked little store were lovely, and neither had tracksuits or slippers on!

This is probably the best village shop & tea room in Dorset. Excellent coffee, cakes & lunches at reasonable prices. Beautiful sheltered garden tea room. A warm welcome from hosts Rick & Jan - nothing is too much trouble.

I am at a loss to understand why this couple are running a shop, let alone a tea room. The shop is dark, gloomy and freezing cold. Very little stock. A wait to get anyone to man the Post Office counter, then an even longer wait to get man to find out the cost of a bottle of water. Shuffling around in track suit bottoms, bloke went upstairs then came back with a calculator. After about 5 mins a price was decided upon. No apology, just an instruction to pull my mask even further over my nose. This, in an area where there is no Covid. I left. An unpleasant experience with absolutely no redeeming features. Shop is untidy, poorly stocked and completely unwelcoming. Never again.

We received a warm welcome when we stepped inside the pub. The food (Jamaican lamb curry) smelled divine! We will definitely return for a meal and for many drinks stops when we are cycling.

So very sad to hear that Massimos has closed. We have spent many happy times there, with lovely food. We are left with our memories, and offer our good wishes to all the family in any future endeavours. Tim and Janet.

Proper pub. No meals only bar shacks but a beautifully kept beer at really good prices. Great atmosphere, staff, locals and visitors. So few proper pubs left.

Scruples is a little gem. Unpretentious, homely, welcoming, with a real community spirit. So much so that we regularly make the 30 mile round trip from where we live to have lunch there. The food is always freshly prepared and delicious. The service is attentive without being overwhelming.
