Definitely worth a visit , traditional music and dancing in place most nights . I visited in a cold January and the atmosphere was very good . Weekends are very popular but do not let this put you off ..

Unfortunately really bad. Nothing authentic. Bartenders have 0 interest in anything but your money. Bands feel like they play the same thing 24/7. Audience partly to the point of embarrassment. Just skip it and go somewhere else!

Brilliant live music, went twice whilst in Inverness and there was live music both nights. Callum Campbell was great, fun and lively.

Highlander has great food and various beers & drinks to choose from. We had the steak and ale pie and the cheese burger. We happened to get there as the guitarist singer was setting up and enjoyed him selection of Scottish, Irish, and American ballads. Big thumbs up!!

Very good pub in Inverness. In the evenings with live music. The atmosphere was very good, the food was typically Scottish and the service was very friendly. We had an unforgettable evening here.

Mac and cheese with “local cheese sauce” was actually just a microwaved nuked bowl of pasta and not sauced cheese at the temperature of the sun. So hot the grease left the cheese and decided to make its own continent of oil amongst the pasta.

Live music, decent food, good prices on drinks. If you go early you won’t need a reservation.

I would not recommend the food here if you have any dietary restrictions. I mentioned to the staff that my wife is vegetarian prior to ordering. She ordered a veggie haggis. She was served a beef dish. I made this known to the staff and got the equivalent of an eye roll. They made a new, correct dish with a rather lackluster apology.

Wonderful atmosphere with live music at night. We visited once early in the day for lunch and came back in the evening to listen to the music. I had the citrus salmon salad and it was delicious with two types of cold salmon. It was very good and the music was fun.

Don't order food if you go here; they are liable to get your order wrong. This is highly problematic if you have allergies or dietary restrictions. Live music is good, but stick to the beer if you go.

Place is very crowded and there is ventilation which makes the temperature cold inside. Portions are smaller compared to other places we tried, but this place is worth it. Live music and the atmosphere is amazing, also the draft beer was excellent!

RACIST BAR MANAGER AND BAR STAFF! Unfair treatment for being a person of colour is never acceptable. For the last two decades I’ve lived in UK I have never been treated like this at a bar. I even lodged a complaint with the bar manager to be laughed at, the minute I turn around. For context we only had one pint from another bar when we got there so we were very far from drunk, never rude to anyone and all we wanted was to enjoy the live music and have a good time after our work trip. I was very calm and reasonable even when discussing my complaint with the bar manager. It’s horrible to be treated differently than everyone else around you when all you want to do is have a good time. Keep your racist thoughts to yourselves and at least act professionally.

Phenomenal pub ! Traditional music was amazing. Food was very fresh and well done. We actually ate here twice in our three day stay in Inverness because we had such a great time.

It was comfortable, but very cold. After saying something several times, it still remained cold. Pressing a button is probably too difficult. People are all sitting there in their jackets. Very unfortunate.

The Highlander is a super nice pub in the middle of Inverness. This is exactly how I imagined a traditional pub in Scotland. The food was really very good and there is an exceptionally large selection of local beer and of course whiskey🙌. We particularly liked the live music (Scottish country music) in the pub. We can definitely recommend the pub.

We arrive at 6 p.m., the waitress tells us there will be a 1 hour wait to eat. No worries, she takes our reservation and notes our name. We tell him that we are waiting while having a drink at the bar. After an hour and a half of waiting, we went back to see the waitress to get some news. She tells us that the meal service is over and that someone should have warned us. Indeed, it would have been good to warn us. We waited 1h30 for nothing and left without having eaten. The atmosphere was good that said.

We were here for lunch and ordered the national dish Häggis with Highlander Lager. Order and pay immediately at the counter. The food was very tasty. The portion was manageable. If you're really hungry, you should order a starter. The waiter was incredibly friendly.

Great atmosphere as soon as the typical Scottish live music plays, which was yesterday at around 6:15 p.m. today at 6:45 p.m. Then it becomes difficult to get a table. So come a little earlier, or from 7:45 p.m. Food pub typical, quite okay. Staff was very friendly. Good overview when allocating tables! I would go here again in a heartbeat, a real experience!

If you are passing through Inverness, it is a must to have a good time at the end of the day! The food is really good with a wide choice of drinks, but it's clearly when local bands play on a small dedicated stage that the magic happens in this pub. I have rarely seen such an atmosphere with a nice mix of local regulars and passing tourists (like me). The staff is adorable, I loved it so much that I left with merchandising sold on site. Go there at the end of the afternoon to be sure to be at the table, it fills up quickly during concerts. Little advice: if you have the opportunity to go there when Calum MacPhail is playing, you will enjoy the discovery.

Good food, cool atmosphere and great songs in the background. As a downside, I would say that it goes down quickly, it is a little small and some dishes need more garnish. I will return without a doubt. Also, the waiters are very nice.

Beautiful pub in the heart of Inverness, where for 34 pounds we had a good lunch of goat's cheese salad, breaded fish fillet sandwich and two pints of local beer. The service is friendly and quick, the bathrooms are clean and well kept.

What an experience and the food was good. The atmosphere was great with live Scottish music. Be on time because it fills up quickly. Unfortunately, the burger had become a little too black, but they resolved this without any problem. Order yourself at the bar and they will bring it to you.

Well worth a stop! Live music was enjoyable. Menu is limited to the usual but everything that was ordered was delicious and came out fast. Good drinks selection. Great atmosphere. But getting a table to eat was chaos. Despite the reserved for dining between certain hours, this wasn’t the case.

We visited the place on a weekday afternoon. A few guests occupied a few tables. You had to order at the counter, but the waiter brought out the food and drinks. Scottish dishes were also on the menu in addition to other specialties. The quality and quantity of the food was excellent, and there were several local beers to choose from. The place is cozy, a real Scottish pub. Local music awaits the guests in the evening. The prices are acceptable. I recommend it to those who want authentic Scottish cuisine and food.

Stopped in for lunch while walking around downtown Inverness. Great food, good service, friendly folks. No live music at lunchtime, but I bet it would be fun in the evening. I will definitely go back should I find myself in Inverness again.

It is nice upscale Bar . It has good space to accommodate people and good no .of sitting . It has nice music selection. And Live Music performances .

The food arrived a bit too fast and upon having the first spoonful it was lukewarm, really could have done with being warmed up a bit more.

Such an enjoyable experience that I had to go two nights in a row. The entertainment was top notch.. first night was the bagpiper and second night more acoustic. Great bunch of people in there. Fantastic for people watching. A lot of good banter and dancing. Large selection of spirits and beers. Doesn’t feel very old but still feels like a good successful space. Door men were very nice as welll as bartenders.

Normaly I would Score a 5 because it is a very nice Pub . We went there Yesterday ordered a Pint each everything great so far ( enjoied it very much) 30 Minutes later the Pint was empty and we wanted another one . There we're two very young Girls behind the Bar ignoring us for the next 20 Minutes ( busy talking to eachother, doing something on the mobile Phone and so on) so we went. We know you place the Order at the Counter by the tab, that was exact the place we were sitting. But apart from that a very nice Place.
