Hibiki Sushi& Ramen in Liverpool

Delicious Tonkotsu Ramen, black garlic oil and Mirin Beef Rib. I’ve not had a beef tonkotsu before so this was a nice Dish to try out. The garlic oil gave a deep flavour to the soup. The beef was tender and combined well with all the various ingredients in the bowl. I found the servers to be welcoming and smiley.

There's a little place in Caen which we always went out of our way to visit when holidaying in France because the noodles are that good... Hibiki is SO much better! It's so much better that I wasn't aware there could be such an improvement over my (now) second favourite ramen place. Seriously. I took the beef rib ramen and it was truly excellent, and reasonably priced at around £12. I strongly recommend the black garlic oil addition for a rich, smoky flavour but the soup on its own is still amazing. Very generous portions of beautifully cooked beef rib too! I spoke with a member of staff who told me that this is just how ramen tastes in Japan and I can believe it. Every time I am in Liverpool, or indeed somewhere in the northwest of England, I will come here because it's that good.

The food is beautiful, love the relaxed vibe and it is such good value for money. The staff were really friendly. A new favourite for me.

It was a very busy lunch hour, so we were asked to return in 45 minutes, which was at 1 pm. We went for a walk and came back, and to our surprise, the beef ramen was exceptionally good, and the sashimi tasted incredibly fresh. No wonder there was a long wait. We loved it!

I absolutely adore this place - so much that it is now a weekly spot for myself and my partner. We've invited our friends and family who all agree that this is THE place for ramen and sushi. The sushi chef is a dedicated individual who sees the art of sushi and treasures every creation he makes. The chefs in the kitchen are astounding at creating glorious dishes that taste incredible. The service staff are lovely, looking to always improve and create the best service possible. The atmosphere is calm and relaxing. It feels like a community of people who come together to taste authentic food that has clearly had a lot of thought put into it. My recommendations are to try the ramen dishes as well as their variations of sushi.... though the ramen is to die for. Definitely the best in Liverpool. Overall, I love this place. Seafood ramen was incredibly disappointing. The broth lacked flavour and depth and the seafood within it was overcooked and at parts inedible (squid)

Outstanding food. Quick, freshly cooked and so tasty. Authentic Japanese sushi just what we were looking for. Definitely recommend! Just make sure you book in advance because this place isn’t huge. We sat at the bar and loved it!

Great food, good service, very reasonable prices. What’s not to like? To start, we shared a delicious selection of sushi, sashimi, tempora, and vegetables. We followed that with a bowl of noodles each, one with seafood and the other with pork. Both dishes were tasty and filling. Recommended.

We made a booking for two and were seated immediately on arrival. The restaurant is small and slightly cramped but doesn’t detract from the overall experience. We ordered two sushi rolls, some maki and a few appetisers. The sushi was delicious and reasonably priced. We also ordered the karaage chicken, tempura prawns and crispy tofu which all arrived quickly, well presented, and were also very tasty. The only thing that detracted from our visit was the absolutely vile condition of the toilets; the toilet roll was left in a pool of liquid on the floor and no soap anywhere. A complete mess. Otherwise, I would recommend hibiki.

Well, how do I put this? Let me start by saying what I got; I got the sushi special box, chashu pork ramen and salmon nigiri. The bill came out at 40.30 pounds and honestly a disappointing experience for the price I was paying. The food was subpar compared to the price listed. The chef special’s sushi box was nothing special at all. There was a disproportionate side of appetiser compared to the sushi and sashimi provided, too much appetiser and too little sashimi or sashimi. The worst part of this box was that the karaage tasted better than the sushi and sashimi where they were supposed to be main stars of the box. Nothing seemed fresh with the worst offenders of this being the shrimp tempura and salmon. Set at around 25 ~ pounds , it fell far from expectations and crashed horribly on my taste buds. I would personally skip this item on the menu. Next up was the chashu pork ramen. Again, nothing special to ride home about. The broth was too salty and lacked the basic pork element. Noodles were basic at best and the accompanying ingredients provided no standing for the dish to shine. However, a honourable mention should be given to the chashu in the midst of mediocrity. Set at price at around 10 ~ pounds, give a try if you wish to. Lastly, the salmon nigiri lacked freshness and was okay at best.

Lovely food, however we asked for a booth seat to which we were told we couldn’t have one as we didn’t book, but for the entire duration of our visit one booth was empty and the other had staff members on it rolling up napkins or sat on their phones. I thought this looked quite messy and very unprofessional considering the amount of food we were going to order. Let down by that.

We had a lovely lunch at Hibiki. We had been looking for a good sushi spot in Liverpool and Hibiki did not disappoint. From the outside it looks like a quaint restaurant but oh does it pack a punch. It has limited seating so I would not suggest it for groups bigger than 4. The Prawn Tempura Dragon Roll was the stand-out dish for us - potentially one of the best rolls we have ever had (which is saying a lot!). All in all, a fab spot that deserves 5 stars. We contemplated going back for lunch the next day but decided maybe that would be too much sushi - we will be back when we are next in Liverpool that is for sure.

Stumbled on the great sushi bar trying to find a car-park. What a find. Small restaurant with limited covers. Compact menu and both Mackerel sashimi and Octopus balls superb. Good service.

Daughters lunch choice. Sushi!! Thus place came up on our search, glad we decided to come here. Very delicious. My daughter loves sushi and she said it was the best. Hubby was happy as I made him try this style of food. We will be coming back before heading home.

Great sushi. Fresh and flavoursome. We shared ramen and 5x plates of sushi and two drinks and that was £51 which is great value for money for japanese food! Would go again for sure! Note: Place is small, book in advance !

Went in quite late on a Saturday - and a table was available. The food came out beautifully presented and quickly. Was undoubtedly the best Katsu curry and sushi I’ve every eaten. Can really recommend.

The food was just stunning, every single bite was savoured and I miss it dearly. One of the best if not the best Japanese place in Liverpool. If they keep up that sensational quality, they’re destined to go big and wel known.
