Kokoro in Liverpool

I got terrible food poisoning after eating chicken here. I vomited for two days.

Went to visit today to take away food as usual. The food didn't make the walk from the shop to Lime Street station before the sauce container they charge extra for exploded in the bag. Thank you.

Suitable for Asian people who want real Japanese food. Delicious fresh salmon sashimi Salmon sushi rice was a little hard for me. Delicious chicken gyoza The vegetable dumplings weren't to my liking but my wife said they were delicious. I'm here to remind you because I went to eat at another Japanese restaurant before. But it was cooked in a different way, I wasn't happy.

I took a chicken katsu curry and sweet and sour Chicken . This wasn’t as good as people on TikTok are saying . Really disappointed , I rather eat chopstick

Asian fast food/Japanese food (sushi) place in Liverpool. I tried the chicken gyoza and the nigiri, both were great. The service is good. The atmosphere leaves something to be desired, the tables outside are a little untidy and dirty. But, to eat quickly or take away it is a good idea. Thanks!

I come here often and never get bored. Foods are tasty! Big portion, quick service, worth the price.

The best fast food you can get in Liverpool.

I ordered a large chicken katsu curry with noodles, and given the price, I expected it to be freshly prepared. However, to my surprise, they microwaved the noodles right in front of me. While the dish was extremely hot initially, it cooled down fairly quickly. The chicken was decent, but nothing exceptional. Overall, I'm giving it 3 stars because I've had much better chicken katsu elsewhere for a lower price. It wasn't terrible, but it went below my expectations.

We were given samples to try as we were unsure about the flavours and level of spice. Portions were of good size, options plentiful. We had spicy chilli chicken n noodles, prawn tempura with noodles and chicken jjajengmyeon n noodles and veg spring rolls. Seating upstairs was like cafe and clean. Definitely will come again as we loved the food.

the most affordable shushi option in town… but it tastes so weird… Salmon cant go too wrong but the texture of Tuna is like a rubber… they made japanese rice like overcooked sticky rice… just when you have tight budget but still want some shushi and starving…

the poke bowl is fantastic, and the portion sizes are great. I highly recommend tuna onigiri as well. staff are nice & friendly, atmosphere is great

Walk by and we try to get some snaks, end up having a main, because the woman in front is was so exited friendly and full of positive energy gives us free samples. I grab Tuna Poke! It was freash full of vegies so colorful and obviosly delicous. Also grab Takoyaki is worth it to try xx . Thank you for amazing experience and amazing food!!

Amazing place for sushi, very courteous staff amazing. I can visit the place again just because such amazing people running the place everything else is secondary when you have great people at the counter.

£6.90 for Ramen this good!!! Others will want to add meat of course but for me its all about the noodles and sauce.

Not the best for sushi, it was very dry, salmon was slimy. Dirty tables and generally not clean.

Visited this place for a quick lunch. I was delighted to see the range of menu options, and the Korean chicken with rice was delicious. Authentic flavour, plenty of side dishes as options. The portion size was generous and the staff were kind and attentive. Such a shame that I was only visiting Liverpool, would definitely visit frequently if I could.

I watched them build my little cardboard tub of food. And I thought... I can do that. So the following week I went the shops bought a box of 4 frozen chicken covered in batter (1.69) some maygay Chinese chippy curry base (2.55) and a kilo of basmati rice ((1.80). Washed and boiled the rice 20 mins, chicken things in air fryer 15 mins and added boiling water with half a chopped onion and a few frozen peas to curry mix 5mins. So for 2 quid less that what it cast me for me scran from this place I made the same dish for 4 people and have enough rice and curry left for 8 more servings, just need 2 more chicken packs, so, essentially for £1.50 more out lay I could make 12... Yes 12 servings that they sell here. The food from Kokoro was well cooked , nicely presented and tbf not a bad price for a hot fast food takeaway and I would probably go there again as the Lob Pot is now garbage since it's been taken over and the staff are like walking corpses... Unlike the happy, chatty ladies in Kokoro which has a quick service as well. But watching them build my scran inspired me to a great new idea for home cooking. As well as curry, we have served the same scran but with sweet and sour, satay sauce etc. A great place. Thanks Kokoro

Lovely place and I always love visiting when I’m in Liverpool. They have lots of vegetarian options and quite a large menu overall. The veggie roll and tofu katsu curry are my personal favourites. Staff are always nice and the service is fast, and they also have some seating upstairs too.

If you want to meet the nicest people and get the most delicious chicken in town, you need to come here😍 we even got free samples for trying the chicken and it was amazing 😍 the prices are perfect, the staff is nice, what else you would wish from a restaurant!

Had sweet and sour chicken with noodles and the first bit of chicken tasted off and then looked properly and the chicken was RAW! Not just one piece either! Wont be going back. Do not recommend

Very good sushi for a good price

The yummy smell of the food attracted me to visit this place. I ordered chicken katsu curry with rice which was as expected, The taste was similar to Indian curry, but I liked it,and the menu had various selections I am going to try other items very soon. As we can see from the front as open kitchen, the food and hygiene standards were followed, and it was clean and tidy. The prices were affordable and the staff were friendly. If anyone looking for a quick lunch around city, you should visit this place.

Absolutely delicious sushi ! Had the Salmon lover set then went back the next day for the chicken katsu curry. Freshly prepared and very tasty food, will visit again when in Liverpool.

The food here is always so good, I love how they have so many hot and cold Japanese dishes to choose from. The service is very speedy, if your looking for a quick eat in meal or grab and go. The only thing I felt was missing was some music in the eating area upstair, just to filter out noises and bring some energy to the room.

I sometimes go to eat cutlet curry. You can also take out, the price is cheap, and the portions are large.

It's not Japanese its now a Halal Islamic practice and last time I checked that is not Japanese food. I wonder when this changed? I don't like religion won't be going back.

pretty good for a japanese fast food place, it’s not everywhere in the uk you can get a decent katsu curry. portions are deceptively huge i could only finish half of regular size. will be coming back to try the sushi sometime!

Hmmm... a bit dodgy. Japanese restaurant with a big sign "Arabic owned selling only hand slaughtered products". Put me off. Beware of that if you are veg/vegan. And unfortunately not japanese at all judging by the menu. Shame, as I was really planning to eat there.

My daughter is a regular and took me here. I had Korean fried chicken with rice and couldn’t finish it. Deceptively filling. We tried the seaweed salad and it’s really tasty. Would go again for sure.

This place is great I always eat in. The hot food is also good. For a place to drop in an ear it's good.

Our first time visiting Kokoro and we'll definitely be coming back. The staff are very friendly and prompt with service. The sushi was fresh, flavorful and filling and the katsu chicken was hot, full of flavor and unlike other reviews, covered in sauce. The upstairs seating area is pleasant and clean. Very nice relaxed atmosphere.

Where's the sauce?! Got the chicken katsu (large) you would expect with this you would get more than a dash of katsu curry. It didn't cover the chicken and didn't even get to the rice. If you ask for more then you get a surly look from the assistant and pushed towards ordering a whole pot of sauce, which is too much for one meal. You would think I was trying to take more sauce from their own plate!! The old boss/ owner was never this stingy and never had this attitude. I can only guess the reduced reported cleanliness goes hand in hand with the current manager with their stinginess and bad attitude either with them or the staff under them. The food is still nice but improvement is needed on multiple fronts!!

Amazing sushi, also ordered teriyaki chicken which was served hot👍. Outdoor seating area, as well as indoor upstairs. Great value for money, generous portions, clean, friendly staff

My first time and the last one. I know Kokoro as a company and, this one, doesn’t represent it at all! The staff was bored, annoyed and rude, was looking like they didn’t want us to take the order. If I could give a vote for the costumer service, it would be 0. I usually go to Kokomo in Nottingham because I live there and today I was in Liverpool with friends and I was so happy to see that there was a Kokoro here, but once left the place, all of us we were unhappy. ❌❌❌

It was very helpful when I was traveling with my child. Warm cutlet curry and large tuna rice balls. The curry is not spicy so it is recommended for children. The sushi roll was moist and delicious with rice. The children, who were tired of eating out at hotels and eating out, competed for food. The Japanese clerk was very kind (and the other woman was also friendly), but it was a short time, but I had a great time☺️

Korean Fried Chicken is incredible.

Kokoro is a really nice place to grab a snack or a hot meal on the go when passing by. I love their onigiri, they are fresh and tasty and make for a filling and healthy lunch. There is a good choice of beverages and hot meals as well.

I moved down to Cornwall a couple of years ago from Liverpool, whenever I come back I make sure to come to Kokoro 💖 lovely food at a lovely price

Been coming here for two years and it’s always tasty. Staff are nice and plenty of seating upstairs. Plus there’s aircon for hot days! Sweet chilli chicken is what I usually get Recommend this kokoro branch

This place is horrific. Used to order tuna and salmon set, £9.10. They made it without fish eggs as I have an allergy Now they try to charge £18,20 because apparently they cannot sell the rolls without her fish eggs to any other customer. It’s shocking they do not care for people with allergies and want to capitalise on it. Won’t be going back.

Food was absolutely amazing, service stellar. Best sushi I've had, better than any big chain I've been to. Rice was insanely soft and the tuna onigiri was to die for. Cannot comment on their hot food as we didn't have any (other than some delicious takoyaki), but they served other customers quickly and it looked amazing. Sat outside, but they have indoor seating upstairs. Excellent value for money - went back in and bought another sushi roll to have later. 100% recommended. Disappointed that we were only visiting the city for a day or we'd eat here every day.

The staff are so kind and will give u help with anything they do absolutely fabulous food for cheap prices which is really helpful if u don't have much and want Japanese or Korean food the atmosphere there is so nice and it's not too hot inside very quiet as well

definitely a great place to quickly grab your meal. i ordered spicy chicken curry i believe and it was good! 😋 the regular portion is filling despite its size and it's nice to choose your own base (noodles or rice). vegetarian option is also available! the place itself isn't big hence why it's perfect for a quick takeaway/dine in. i've yet to order the sushi but i will definitely return to give it another try!

Restaurant that looked nice at first but after taking away, 2 platz of sushi were missing. They didn't want to know so no refund, nothing it's a shame! £15 thrown out the window

First time visiting this branch, it was a different feel to the other branches I have visited but nevertheless there was a lot of choice of food, the staff were nice and there was seating available. We asked for some sushi not to have wasabi on the side and we asked for some sushi to have avocado in instead of cucumber and it was no problem for them to make us new batches up. The portions are good sizes, even the avocado maki you get a big chunk of avocado not like other sushi places. Really great and I would highly recommend

I use to realy like comming here almost 2 times a week, but as of recently the portions and quality have started the lower. I got a medium chicken katsu, and when they was puring the sauce "if you could call it sauce at this point, more like a curry water" they only use half a ladles worth, and when I asked if they could fill it with a decent amount, it was gonna cost me extra. Very sad that it's getting this way as I use to realy enjoy going.

The food is always very good. I bought a bento box with sushi a couple of hours ago for my trip and the tuna is grey, tastes weird (I had to throw it away) and now the carriage is stinking of smelly fish. Be careful, you may give people food poisoning.

This place is always busy but there is a reason for that the food is perfect and the amount for the price is amazing. I cant fault here at all.

Food quality and choices felt cheap for the price paid. Food had to be microwaved, expected it to at least be kept warm.

Staff not friendly, they do not give tray when we buy a lot sushi to eat and the food spill on floor just on right when she take from counter. Later my friend bought plastic for 10p and the staff just throw the plastic in front of her. It happens today and this is my last time. Takoyaki is tasteless, and sushi is so so. Never repeat again here. I feel ashame because I bring my friend here and sadly, bad experience for her.

An amazing meal every time. I wont eat pre made supermarket sushi but the pre made sushi here is so fresh and tasty! The hot food is also really good. It's very affordable and a quick efficient service. 5 stars
