We had a fantastic meal - all of the team who served us were great but special shout out to Cassidy. We will definitely be making a return visit.

Well, this was by far the best door experience we had during our 4-day trip in Edinburgh. We stumbled upon Hendersons during our first night, and were determined to have dinner during our trip. Since it’s quite popular, make sure to book your table in advance! The food and cocktails were absolutely phenomenal. We ordered some starters, like the Haggis cheese crocquettes and the carrots tarte tartin. Both exceptionally well prepared with so much flavors! Following the starters we ordered the cauliflower and the vegan Haggis. Once again, excellent choices. So much flavors in both dishes, with the right portions to leave some room for the dessert. One of the waitresses advised us to choose the biscoff cheesecake. Although it was a bit much, it was by far one of the tastiest cheesecakes we ever had! With a perfect atmosphere, accompanied by great music, and helpful and caring waitresses, we had an awesome night!

First time visit to a vegan restaurant. Did some Research ahead of time and the menu looked great. Arrived early and walked into a warm inviting space. With sufficient privacy space between tables. Server had a good knowledge of the menu. Attentive but not overly so. Had sharing nibbles to start (recommended ) chose some starters, mains and desserts. Was not disappointed., Flavours were great and celebrated the ingredients. Plenty to eat and good value on price.

We had a wonderful family meal. We are all vegan and the food was amazing and cooked using a range of more unusual and extremely tasty ingredients. The wine was also excellent. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The restaurant atmosphere was stylish but relaxed. We will definitely return soon!

This is a great restaurant. Every single one of the dishes I had were great. Becky our server was honestly incredible. Nothing was too much trouble for her and she went above and beyond what I would have expected. Everyone else I came into contact with was also really happy and friendly. If I lived closer I would visit more often.

Everything was lovely, just a wee bit quiet hence the 3 stars for atmosphere but we did have an early booking. Food was wonderful.

We had a fantastic meal - really first class. The food was outstanding and the service excellent. Next time I go, I'll ask for a table upstairs as downstairs was a wee bit quiet - but this wasn't a big deal. Overall, our evening was a brilliant experience and I'll definitely be back next time we're in Edinburgh for a night. The starter of "roasted beetroot, saffron pickled pear, chicory & rosemary truffle dressing" was absolutely brilliant.

Had a delicious meal. The nibbles, starters and haggis were unbelievably tasty but the highlight was the cocktails. The passion fruit martini was divine.

As a vegetarian, was expecting to be a little more enthusiastic about the food that we ordered, some of the plates were phenomenal, some were just alright. The staff were very kind, Exit sign above our table created a weird glow that kinda took us out of the ambiance.

Food is great but won't be to everyone's taste.

Beautiful space! I had the vegetarian haggis dish and a side salad and everything was perfectly presented and delicious. The service was friendly and attentive. Highly recommend!

Henderson in Edinburgh is a very fine restaurant! The service was incredibly friendly and really made the visit special. We recommend making a reservation in advance.

We got soaked on route to the restaurant and the host gave us a a warm welcome, putting our coats on the radiator while we were seated. This was a sign of things to come as the service was perfect & the food delicious! Would 100% come back.

Excellent food, a lot of the menu is vegan, plenty of choices. A special mention to the biscoff cheesecake, amazing!

Have been raving our love for this place with my friends all the way home! Had three courses and mocktails and everything looked beautiful and tasted phenomenal. Very wholesome feeling food that feels hearty but not heavy. Had the celeriac, something I don't think I've ever seen on a menu before as a main and thoroughly enjoyed. All the staff were absolutely lovely, very friendly, and were very helpful with dietary requirements, as I have allergens not listed on the menu. All over vibe is really cool while still feeling very comfortable and cosy. We were all pretty mesmerised with the decor of the place. Been veggie for 10 years and I'd never been to a totally vegetarian/vegan restaurant before, and this felt really special. I'm afraid I'll never want to try a different restaurant any time I'm in town ever again!

Food was absolutely delicious and the waiting staff were very friendly and welcoming.

My wife and I were very impressed with our experience at Hendersons. The service we received was polite, fun and attentive, to just the right level. We were made to feel very welcome. The food was really, really nice and we couldn’t believe it was vegetarian. Highly recommend this place.

I had an amazing dining experience. The food was so good, (I had the soup of the day, a delicious cream of broccoly&roasted garlic, a seitan sunday roast and an amazing biscoff cheesecake for dessert) The drink menu is full of creative options whether you want something alcoholic or not. The servers were incredibly attentive and nice. I felt very welcome and had a great time. The portion sizes were generous and I got my food very quickly. Highly recommend.

A really tasty lunch with wine. My friends had a main course, I chose from the £10 lunch deal. Everything was so tasty. Delicious!

I personally don't think the food was worth all the hype, the mixed salad platter was great but the beetroot soup and haggis were a solid 5-6/10! Nice interior though but quite overpriced

We had a wonderful experience with great food and fabulous service.

We were particularly impressed with the choice and quality of the set lunch. One of our group has celiac disease and was delighted at the gluten-free offerings. Staff very friendly and helpful too.

Really amazing dinner. Haggis actually tasted like haggis!

Food was average, although the vegan haggis is what stood out and was the best. Pate appetizer tasted like cannelini bean hummus, black pudding was strange and very bland, vegan haggis was tasty wish it had a little more sauce, steamed greens were tough and had to ask for a sauce to season them, carrot cake dessert was nothing like carrot cake at all (very cute presentation, but the taste resembled nothing of traditional carrot cake and texture was dense and gritty). Service was very hospitable and friendly, atmosphere had very chill and calm vibes.

Who knew vegan food in Edinburgh could be so incredible, and that there would be so many options around. We went to Hendersons on a whim, many places were closed on Monday, they weren’t. Damn it was good! It’s not the cheapest meal you’re going to have but you won’t leave disappointed! Really incredible. Would 100% recommend and return.

Excellent vegan food with unique flavor combos in a beautiful, serene atmosphere on a lovely Edinburgh street. I had a mocktail, Mac and cheese with spinach pesto, and an unusual broccoli salad with kumquat and preserved lemon. All amazing!

Simply beautiful throughout the experience. The restaurant is laid out well, with plenty of space between tables, with a peaceful, calming ambience. The food is incredible, no seasoning was required for any of the dishes ordered, which is always a great sign, that the kitchen staff knows exactly what they are doing. We ordered the salad platter, all of which were absolutely delicious. The oyster mushroom and cauliflower puree dish was tasty. My favourite however was the ricotta gnocchi - so much flavour in a soft pillowy parcel. Desserts are equally delightful and the wine pairings are well matched. Value for money is incredible for the experience, I will certainly be booking again, when I'm next visiting Edinburgh - please don't change what you're doing, I love it!

This was my birthday evening and it was the best place to go for my birthday dinner. I really enjoyed the meal and the atmosphere.

The food is delicious, the prices are more than fair, the waitresses are smiling and welcoming. I had the Vegan Haggis, which was delicious, I recommend it 100%. The Henderson cocktail was also delicious. The cheesecake was also very good. The atmosphere is super nice and cozy. It is better to make a reservation to get a table.

We went to Hendersons for a Hen Party and the food was excellent and the service first class. Will be going back here again for sure!

Welcoming and attentive staff who walked us through the menu and told us about the specials. After some delicious cucumber and elderflower martinis and a complimentary Prosecco for the birthday girl we got stuck in. We were two carnivore parents taking our vegetarian daughter out for a birthday lunch. We then had the most delicious lunch I have had in ages. And certainly the best vegetarian restaurant I have ever enjoyed (and I’ve been to House Hiltl). The variety, choice and depths of flavour were off the charts. Nothing but empty plates, full stomachs and a desire to return to try some of the other dishes at the end of the meal. We were so stuffed we couldn’t handle pudding. So next time I will lay off the sharing nibbles and just stick to those delicious ‘nduja’ arancini so I will have room for the puddings.

Food was perfectly edible, but was overpriced for what were, to my mind, simple main courses that could be replicated easily at home or in any decent cafe. £18 for a Frittata or Caponata is a bit steep. What I love about vegetarian restaurants is seeing something a bit different, but this menu didn't offer anything adventurous. Staff were attentive and pleasant,but I don't see a return trip on the cards for me.

A fantastic restaurant that delivers in every way. The food delighted our whole table with the flavour, presentation and the choices available. The staff were freindly, funny and unobtrusive throughout. The atmosphere is cool without any pretensions. We'll be back for sure, even if just to taste the options we didn't pick!

Outstanding. We came to Edinburgh to celebrate our retirement. We had a fantastic meal. Everything was well presented, delicious and excellent value for money. The staff were friendly and efficient. The frittata, the best I’ve had. We finished with a baraquito, a favourite of mine from the canaries, and an old fashioned. Highly recommended. If we return to Edinburgh we will definitely go back. Hendersons is an Edinburgh institution, and quite possibly my wife's and my favourite restaurant in the city. Dining at the restaurant is always a lovely experience. It has a wonderful ambience, very friendly service, and a fantastic vegetarian menu. The quality of the food (and drink) is top notch, but doesn't break the bank. Hendersons also do event catering, and we asked them to cater our (fully vegetarian) wedding back in July. In the runup to the wedding, they were incredibly helpful and responsive in dealing with our many many queries. They also offered a tasting, which was very fun (we ended up taking home three days' worth of dinners!). On the day itself, they pulled off a fantastic meal, exactly everything we had hoped for. They even gave us a wedding present! We could not recommend Hendersons strongly enough.

A place we'll take cared of and you can feel the love for food and to provide a good experience.

Very good restaurant. Lovely vegetarian options. Service is good. I do wish they would eliminate the 10% optional service charge. Bringing american style tipping to scotland is not an improvement on restaurant experiences.

This Is one of the most amazing restaurants I have ever been to. The staff are super friendly and the menu was very diverse. We both had the vegetarian haggis and it was absolutely delicious, the flavours were divine. I highly recommend this restaurant to any vegetarians/vegans who want to try a different taste sensation.

Delicious lunch deal at 10 quid. Butter bean soup and then hispi cabbage salad followed by the blueberry muffin ice lolly - delicious! I'm not even a vegetarian!

the starter was the star of the show. the mains were a little disappointing in comparison. i got the battered banana blossom (mock fish n chips) which was really salty, though our waitress was really nice and offered to change it.

Probably one of the best vegetarian dishes with really exquisite taste I had by far and really good service. Tip highly recommend to have multiple starters.

We enjoyed eating here one evening while in Edinburgh. Food was creative and tasty, in particular the main courses. Desserts were less exciting but nice. Thought the menu could do with better signposting around mains and sides etc. Unclear how large mains were. We wished we'd ordered some sides after the mains arrived.

The 4 of us had 3 delicious courses. The only reason why I didn’t give you 5 stars was because the celeriac dish needed more sauce I felt, partly because inevitably it was quite salty.

We didn’t have a reservation but still got in. Staff was very friendly. The food was really good but the portions are small and a little pricey.

Absolutely outstanding! It was my second time in Edinburgh. I visited the restaurant during my first stay and I just had to go back! This time I brought my mum who travelled all the way from Poland and I just knew where to take her for dinner, it was an easy choice. Food is out of this world and the service is excellent. I will be going back as there is so much food I yet need to try. Being vegan, there is so much choice and the drinks are so good. If you in Edinburgh, you just have to visit, you won't regret it.
