Waited 45 mins for overpriced mediocre food

Zero number zero way to contact them through uber absoulte disgrace they gave me pork dumplings . Never had pork in this house . Its a halal household if you ran out of what I ordered pick up an call and ask not replace with pork

Waited for 45 minutes for lukewarm food, service staff doing their best but clearly couldn’t cope with a mildly busy saturday night. Won’t be going back.

Unfortunately this place just wasn't for me. The music was so loud and struggled to have a conversation. Felt more like a nightclub than a place to eat. I didn't realise it was more like a food canteen than a restaurant. The food was also very average. I had the char siu vermicelli which had very little char siu in it and was lacking in flavour. The duck spring rolls also felt lacking of any duck flavour. I won't be returning

Smells amazing, the food was really good. Big portions, so beware! you will order too much. Taiwanese Pork Belly Stew was amazing, so much flavour and the pork melted in our mouths.

Great range of Asian food, cool vibes, good service. So many good ways to eat tofu - Korean tofu, salt and pepper tofu... just go eat the tofu!

Had another nice meal at Hello Oriental. Credit to Azim and the team who handled our complaint thoroughly and efficiently.

I am a deliveroo rider on Saturday I was waiting for 45 minutes as the staff told me that the food is coming the staff was very rude even I have to go downstairs to check my order what's not ready you guys need to make one place for drivers and I was waiting for free and I have to cancel my order 45 minute mean 1 hour for nothing you guys need to understand that we working hard 🙏

I have ordered from deliveroo and I was waiting more than 2 hours for my order on Saturday even the rider was waiting more than 30 minutes you guys need to make it quick for deliveries as well

Feb 2025 - What a difference a year makes. We came here to celebrate Lunar New Year, after such a great time last year and unfortunately we won’t be coming back in any capacity. Having spent £15 just to reserve a table and after having a good experience last year I was confident it would be great. Now I am £70 down and feel more than disappointed. I hate to leave bad reviews and very rarely find myself doing so. The place was chaotic, the DJ was fab but way way too loud for a place to eat, I literally couldn’t hear what the person sat next to me way saying. I get that it was a celebration, but it wasn’t really in keeping with a restaurant on a Sunday afternoon. The place was dirty with food and bits of rubbish all over the floor, tables weren’t cleared and it looked a state. I took my little boy to the toilet and was shocked to see it was even worse in there. Every toilet was barely usable, there were discarded McDonalds wrappers and a bag of McDonalds food all over the place and toilet seats that were half broken and sharp to touch, very dangerous with children around. With the DJ and the mess, it really did feel like a dirty sticky nightclub at 2am. I understand the food comes out when it’s ready, which is no problem, but you would expect drinks to arrive at some point. Myself and my children had virtually finished our food when they came. I wouldn’t mind, but the children’s drinks were just pre-made Fruit Shoots, so I have no idea why it took an hour for them to arrive. I asked a total of of 3 staff members 6 times about the drinks and nothing was done, the staff all seemed to have an air of being lackadaisical and not attentive to customers whatsoever. I was told I would be refunded for my drinks, but received nothing. I waited a full 15 mins after we wanted to leave to find someone to speak too about this, but there were zero staff around to ask. After walking back up 3 floors with 2 kids I found one member of staff, who told me I needed to go all the way back down to the basement to speak to someone. This was supposed to be a treat for my children and money I would be happy to spend if we received anywhere near the same experience as last year. I am actually rather upset today, I have lost a good amount of money and come away with nothing but a bad experience. It’s a shame as we did enjoy coming here, but the mess and the less than poor service has totally put us off. Feb 2024 - From texting these guys to book a table, to the actual service and food, this place was top tier. We visited on Lunar New Year weekend and safe to say it was busy. Even though service was slow, it was hardly noticed. The staff managed the influx of customers calmly and expertly. Despite how busy the bar and restaurant was, we felt well looked after. The addition of a fabulous balloon artist and dragon dancers was amazing. The balloon artist went from table to table making the most wonderful Chinese dragons and lucky cats; and the dragon dance came through the restaurant, making the whole experience a real treat. The food was just perfect, every dish was enjoyed. They catered so well for myself, a Coeliac, with the option to filter gluten free on the menu. They also have a fantastic kids menu. All in all it’s an asset to Manchester and the staff are a credit to the business.

The food was okay for an Asian like me. However, no one should order delivery as the packaging was awful, the sauce in my order was dripping out of the paper bag and paper box as I received it. It also took too long for 2 orders to arrive, I waited 1hr and a half and it was not worth the experience.

How have I not visited here earlier? It's absolutely amazing! Just scan the QR code on the table and order on your phone. So easy! And such a massive menu! You can even order a board game to your table!

Kept saying the order was preparing. Order was placed at 18:00 by 21:00 I still haven’t received my order. It was only 2 of the small chicken dishes and I live close to the restaurant??? By 21:18 it said it was delivered at 21:25, there is still nothing here. Great food if it ever actually arrives. I am extremely dissatisfied and frustrated.

Spent £16 on some very dry duck with very dry rice. Would not recommend anything from the roasts selection.

Been quite a few times now; it’s especially great for kids, food is good and service is quick. The place is big, so plenty of space and seating available, and it’s obviously a pretty impressive looking space. Food and drinks are delivered quickly, and dishes I’ve tried have been good; nothing super out there, it’s all pretty standard but equally all executed well. The menu is vast, and as such the QR ordering process is a little unwieldy but I can’t think of a better solution, given the set up. All in all I’m really glad it’s around and hope it continues to be so for years to come.

🤯 OMG JUST AMAZING 🤯 Update just come back and it's still amazing as the last time. The service and food was phenomenal. Ang is an amazing manger and she will make the NEW traffic centre one OUTSTANDING The food was outstanding and the service was out of this world. It shows when you are nice to people they are nice to you and give you amazing hospitality. Jay is the guy we had serving us and he went above and beyond. The members of staff that were working there from the chefs and the rest of the waitresses and waiters were outstanding. Myself and ash go to a lot of places we see on Instagram on Facebook and some of them are not up to what they say but this place went past anything I could have imagined. Just showing that there are still some outstanding amazing places out there that really do want to give you the service you deserve. This is a must go if you have not already been. Thank you again to all the staff #lifeisforlivingtobeamzaing

The service was great, Ange was really accommodating providing us with paper menus and helping us order when we experienced trouble. The food came out quickly and the portion sizes were really generous. The food was of great quality and there was a wonderful variety.

Had dinner at Hello Oriental and was served by none other than Captain Underpants. The food was amazing, but the real hero was our server. He delivered our drinks with the grace of a caped crusader and made the whole meal a comedy show. Highly recommend if you're into great food and surprise superheroes. 10/10 would dine again!

Was on my hen party in Manchester and came to Hello Oriental for dinner with my family and friends - we had such a wonderful experience. The restaurant itself has such a fun vibe and atmosphere, and the food was just incredible! Our server Jay really did everything to make sure our night went well and looked after every question we had. I will definitely be coming back the next time I'm in Manchester and be recommending it to anyone going! Thanks for everything Jay 💖

Food was great, friendly staff. Lovely aromas in the air. Personally I prefer a waiter taking my order to answer questions I may have and the interaction but it's all through a QR code so that was missing. Could feel a cold breeze also in the restaurant besides that a good evening was spent with the family. Will surely go back again.

Me and my partner came here for the first time last night and we will definitely be returning. Firstly the place is so cool, and has a very good vibe. The food was insane we got pork and prawn dumplings, tuna and breaded prawn sushi, spicy Korean wings and chicken chow mein. Honestly ever meal was so yummy we couldn’t fault any of them. The place was also super busy and there wasn’t many staff but they were all still so attentive and friendly. I want to especially thank the brunette waitress unfortunately I didn’t get her name but she was wearing a striped top - I wanted to get the January discount and it wasn’t working on the app so she took time to put it in on the till even though she was very busy and she was very patient. Overall such a lovely experience and good vibes. ❤️

My husband and I have been visiting Hello Oriental since it opened. Hands down our favourite eatery. The range of food is incredible and every dish we’ve tried tastes so authentic - personal favourites being the Bun Hue, Tibetan Lamb and Malaysian Beef Brisket curry (the variety here speaks for itself). The service reflects the quality of the food too - spot on. Shoutout to manager Jay, done a fabulous job renovating the whole space - the atmosphere and aesthetic aligned with the food makes this a go to for us multiple times a month. Good luck with the Trafford Centre branch, we’ll definitely be there!

Food wise, good food however it could use some authenticity flavour and preparation wise (eg chicken) One thing It could benefit massively is K-pop instead of anime on the screen (my mates words) but kinda agree. Overall spectacular. Ordered the Full Loaded Pho, Sui Mai and the sas-shoe-an “I cannot spell it” Fries along with another dish I forget the name. Great all round, highly recommend the bear head ice cream!

Was looking forward to this but honestly was a big disappointment. The server who greeted us was nice and the building is pretty cool but the food came out at different times (which we weren't told about) so our sides were cold before we got our mains. The dishes were very expensive and honestly not that good. £7 for bought in vegan soup dumplings which tasted like dry frozen veg inside a bit of plain dough is a rip off. It didn't help that our food got delivered to the wrong table twice and I think adding a mandatory service charge and then asking for a tip is pretty cheeky especially when the food is just dumped in front of you. We used the January discount but honestly that still didn't help, won't be back.

Went to Hello Oriental with high hopes however was unfortunately not the experience I hoped for. The host who welcomed us was nice but overall the service was poor, with food just been plonked on our table and almost been taken to the wrong table. The food was okay, but came out at all different times. Thank god it was the January deal as the food was on the higher side of expensive and without the discount very expensive.
