Hellidon Lakes in Daventry

Spent two nights at the hotel and our deal provided us with a meal in the restaurant. Food was enjoyable and staff very friendly. Variety of choice on the menu. Breakfast was excellent with lots of choice. All the cooked breakfast items were hot and the fruit bowl was delicious. Pancakes and pastries also plentiful. The jam option is like a mini mountain. We sat by the window and enjoyed watching the wildlife potter around the lake. The best bit was Vicky who has worked there 17 years. She is a huge asset, so friendly, helpful and welcoming.

Beautiful place, staff are so friendly, Marion on front desk was so lovely and helpful, our evening meal was amazing, breakfast was great to, we had a lovely stay and will be back.

Stayed on a bed and breakfast deal with use of Spa. Spa was wonderful with a warm pool with jets and heated loungers to relax on admiring the landscape view. Shame they have new carpet at the entrance that was wet to walk on. Evening meal had a good choice and served efficiently. We had a room with a view of the golf course and lake so very relaxing. No fridge, coffee and tea making facilities and toiletries. Breakfast was good quality and hot apart from water for tea stored in a dispenser rather than boiling for a good cuppa. However asked for a tea pot and the waitress obliged. The hotel seems geared to corporate events but we enjoyed our stay and would return. Friendly receptionist who was very welcoming

From checking in for a two night travel zoo special to checking out late at 1300 this was a great experience and very good value for money. I would have no issues with highly recommending this hotel. We were upgraded to a family room which had loads of space for the two of us, the room had obviously been updated and furnishings replaced recently so was very new. All the staff from check in to check out were exceptional, very welcoming and professional, the waitresses in the restaurant and bar deserve special praise, particularly Vicky the breakfast waitress who was outstanding and a wonderful cheerful character. The management team should be very proud of all the staff. The spa experience was very good but the highlight was without doubt the evening meal which the chef served up the finest featherblade piece of beef imaginable. Should a good offer be available again I would definitely consider a revisit.

Booked for 2 adults 1 child on dinner bed and breakfast. Was given 2 single beds then asked for an extra £25 on top before arrival for a zed bed?? I booked dinner bed and breakfast for 3 so expected 3 beds. Beds were extremely uncomfortable and we wakened with extremely sore backs, like sleeping on a door. We were booked Friday and Saturday and actually left on Saturday as couldn't face another evening in the bed. Dinner was good and had gluten free option's as requested. No kids meal offered so child had to choose adult style meals but we worked it out. Drinks very expensive Breakfast - not as great - no gluten free options and never came with my bread/roll as requested. No coffee machines ( one in bar not working) as requested a cappuccino but was told £2 for a paper cup and use the urn filed with instant coffee, no thanks declined the offer of spending £4 for 2 of us and had the coffee from our room. House cleaning, threw cover over, I had to go to reception for toilet paper as none in the roof and the towels were as rough as sand paper. Reception not very polite didn't even bat an eye lid at us leaving a day/night early due to the issues in the room Never again

I was at Hellidon Lakes for my daughter's wedding. On the whole the experience was great but the lady on reception when we arrived was quite curt and not overly polite.

A very well organised Wedding for my son Matthew & his partner, Kass. Everything to do with the Ceremony & Celebration went extremely well & pretty much on time. An excellent 3 course meal was served. Quality of the food was superb. Staff were very welcoming, polite, & efficient. Food was served quickly & smoothly, with very hot plates for the cooked courses. Very well done! A very big ' Thank You' to Sally & her team. Now , one criticism: My wife & I booked an "Accessible Room" some months ago when the Wedding event was booked. Unfortunately, whoever took the booking over the phone, did not listen or execute the booking correctly, as we were not allocated the room type requested. This did cause us some inconvenience, as my wife has mobility problems. However we managed for one night. Sunday morning breakfast was superb, with very freshly cooked & well presented English Breakfast fare. Again , very well done with this, compliments to Chef.

Lacklustre for a passing traveller and has all the trappings of fleecing wedding parties! Food is poor and overpriced. Rooms "scruffy" and unkempt. Nuf said?
