FUEL Restaurant in Daventry

Plenty of choice, hot and cold options. Plenty of tables which waiting staff kept up with, cleaning well between guests. Only disappointment were the cold mushrooms.

This is also in my Hotel Review. You can eat in the bar or in the restaurant, its all the same menu. We used the Fuel restaurant our first night, my wives meal arrived as completely the wrong order and my pizza did not have the extras as ordered. No Ale / beer available on tap just bottles. ! The waitress was very good at telling us it wasn't her fault as she placed the order properly. We had continental (not cooked ) breakfast in the mornings, very busy Saturday morning, tables were slow being cleared as people left.

The breakfast at the Mercure was what sold us on the hotel for our wedding guests - their sausages were fabulous. Despite being a little worried that they might have changed providers during the wedding pandemic postponement, we were not disappointed!

This is the name of the restaurant in the Mercure Court Hotel, Daventry. Excellent food. Superb staff. Lovely setting.

Stayed at this very poor example of a hotel last weekend very disappointed. Asked to book a table for dinner at reception and told not busy so no need to book. Asked restaurant manager when the doors opened at 6.30 just to be safe only to be told restaurant is closed until at least October and are only open for groups who have privately precooked ie a coach party and a group of locals. How can a hotel not allow guests to use their restaurant but also not advise it is shut before arrival. Restaurant manager said feeding back complaints daily but management not interested at all. Can eat in the bar (in reception) but at the full restaurant price.

Really bad service from restaurant staff, Ordered starter and pork chops!!! Asked to swap chunky chips for potato fries, said there would be a £2 charge which was £3.50, even though both chip options were £3.50 on the sides!!! Chef can not take one off and add another or just charging for the sake of it!! Then everything came together, starter, chop with chips then the potato fries!!! The general attitude of the bar abs restaurant staff was very disappointing for the mercure chain hotels. Whether they don’t want the future trade and custom, good luck to them, but first and last time for me, in this hotel and other Accor chain.

Breakfast was good but evening meals were not great. A £9.95 surcharge for a steak that was minuscule. Service was slow. As our meals came a young girl was sent round with bread rolls, need more training I think.

Really, really slow service. Most food acceptable but one burnt burger and a couple of failed attempts to remember what we ordered. Restaurant was half empty but the kitchen just couldn't seem to cope.

Look, I'm pretty easily pleased when it comes to restraunts, but this was actually shocking. We waited well over an hour for our meal despite the place being empty, and when the food arrived it was mediocre at best, with one of our party's meal being burnt and inedible, and others being the wrong food! On the plus side, my uncle says the gammon steak was the best he's had in ages, so if you're willing to put yourselves through intense emotional labour for a gammon steak go right ahead. Otherwise, steer clear.

Food is average and overpriced. Service is very slow. Menu doesn't even have a price on it. For dessert, you will get what you are given, not the menu item.

Stayed at the hotel and decided to eat there - wanting only something quick - I opted for the burger - it was moist and tasty served in a brioche bun - chips were greasy and frozen - fresh would have made a difference - accompanying onion rings were also of the frozen variety - only the taste of the burger saved it all.

Having stayed the night, the breakfast next morning was excellent. Full english, self service set me up for day.

I stayed here on business at the hotel and after a long day wanted to eat in the restaurant. Unfortunately I was told it no longer opened at night and was forced to eat in the bar area. The bar area was too busy because of this, and it was very difficult to get a table. People were told it was minimum 1 hour wait etc and I saw many people leave and go into town,. I persisted however and found the staff friendly and food very good. Bu please open the restaurant, I don't want to packed in to that bar area, unable to hear myself think.

Excellent food on both occasions I visited this restaurant. Meals for all tastes and the staff are very helpful, polite and friendly. Highly recommend a visit .

It depends who is on it can be excellent the night it. Was awful we waited over an hour for our food a nd it. Was cold

Service good. Food average at best. Cheeseboard an absolute travesty. Go a drive into town there is bound to be something off ONE of the roundabouts thats better than this.

Comimos aquí durante una estancia de 1 noche en el hotel, tanto para la cena y para el desayuno de la mañana siguiente. La cena era simplemente bien, no estaba mal, pero el estándar era a lo largo de las líneas de comida de pub, y no era lo que yo esperaría de un hotel de 4 estrellas, probablemente más como un 3 estrellas, en mi opinión. Estaba incluido el viaje estábamos en así que no puedo comentar sobre los precios. El servicio estaba bien. Disfrutamos el desayuno es más que la cena, así que si te alojas en el hotel, el desayuno es más que merece la pena. Había mucha variedad en cocidos y continental y todo era fresco y sabroso.

Nos alojamos en el hotel, pedimos algo para picar mientras esperábamos para las comidas principales, pero tardamos casi 45 minutos para ellos, ser servido. Ensalada de tomate y mozzarella hijas era pésimo para el precio, y era de 4 rebanadas de queso n cada uno de los tomates con muy poco más, excepto los baños de lechuga. Como plato principal cuesta casi 10 libras era pésima. El personal era descuidado y cuando nos fuimos al bar a la pregunta de cuánto la comida, nos dijeron que no tenían idea, pero probablemente no mucho más, ya que había un problema en la cocina con el personal. No comer allí, prefiero conducir a una comida para llevar.

Utilizamos este restaurante cuando nos alojamos en el hotel y quedamos muy contentos que decidimos quedarnos. El pescado y las patatas fritas eran muy buenas (especialmente las patatas fritas!) y justo lo que necesitábamos después de un largo día. El servicio es un poco lento, pero nosotros no teníamos prisa. Merece la pena probar si estás en la zona.

Por el precio que pagas, te esperas algo mejor. Puedo ver las críticas anteriores ya sin mencionar las cosas que me he encontrado, sin embargo, lo que tengo que decir es que el hotel es situado en, está siendo remarcada como Mercure, así que espero que las cosas mejoren. La comida era perfectamente comestible, sin embargo, el servicio era lento y por lo que pagas, estás invitan a la gente a quejarse! No es mega caro, pero el estándar es comida de pub y el precio no lo es. Vino es por lo menos 20 libras una botella - comida no viene con los carbohidratos que no puedo decir sin duda era evidente en el menú, pero no rápido desde el camarero cuando "extras" no estaban ordenados. También esperamos más de una hora para nuestro plato y nuestra principal se servía en 9:40. No intenta reservar una mesa para 7 pm pero no así que tenía que tener 7:30 no sé por qué, como el restaurante estaba vacío y entonces esperamos demasiado largo para comer, lo que nos llevó a terminar nuestras comidas en el momento de la cama. No volveré a este restaurante, sin embargo le daría otra prueba si han cambiado completamente en la cambiará su nombre por- cambie su nombre también, para dar a los comentarios un limpio pizarra.

new years eve ball and new years night had both meals there and they were both horrible- red runny steak even though it was sent back to be cooked and the next night cheap chicken legs and stale sticky toffee pudding- breakfast is nice though with plenty of choice

Had to wait 1.5 hours for food. Wasn't worth the wait. Onion rings out of a packet. Service is pleasant but simply not enough people working the kitchen and the dining room.

We stayed at the hotel on a Dinner, bed and breakfast package. The restaurant had 4 other people dining. In spite of that it was necessary to ask for service on a number of occasions. I think the Dinner, Bed and Breakfast rate was a mistake as so many of the good options were not included in the dinner option and a supplement of £7 was needed for ant grills including a burger! I settled for the soup which was extremely tasty. My partner had the pate again which was tasty. It was a promising start. My main of sea bass was spoilt with the insipid sauce and over spiced mash. My partner had the duck. Portions are small - giving a pointer to their aspirations of a top quality restaurant still in the 90's.The desserts were average and l had ice-cream. Nothing special and my partner had profiteroles which were hard and unpleasant.Funny I receive a voucher for 30% discount two days before I arrive and a free bottle of wine. sadly couldn't use them because of the package booked.Think twice about eating here on their so called special offers.

have a meal up in the town before you come to the hotel,and the meals where very small +disappointed for a 4 star hotel

We ate here as a family group, including a two-year-old, and we were welcomed and well looked-after. We found the choice of menu was pretty good, with something for everyone. The goats cheese panna cotta was light and subtle, and two of us had the feathered blade of beef, which we thought was excellent. It was accompanied by crushed potatoes flavoured with fresh herbs (thyme? possibly,) and red cabbage. My partner enjoyed fish with fresh vegetables. The beef was generous, and I was too full to consider a pudding, although two of us shared a sorbet. One small criticism - I found the red cabbage over-sweet, and felt a fresher flavour would have better complemented the rich beef - or maybe even a green salad. But all in all we enjoyed our meal and all agreed we would eat here again.

in Daventry Court Hotel Hotel Collection Group not far from the Country Park or Town Centre by car. medium prices and very enjoyable food. Hotel prices for drinks can spoil it. e.g. @£4 pint cider

Just returned from a works conference and facilities very good. Let down down by the restricted menu. The food when served was warm and not the biggest portion in the world. Would I eat there again? Not by choice. Breakfast very good!

Poor menu of selections and quality not that great.Pricey for what you get and no real atmosphere.I would suggest traveling a couple of miles extra to the local pub.

Its better than average but not very good so needs a 3 1/2 rather than 3 or 4.I would say a typical Hotel restaurant that some parts of the meal were very nice and other parts just average. Had 3 courses and the starter of pork belly was very nice but the apple sauce was too sweet by far. The main meal was pork lion and it was supposed to have a mustard sauce but i think they just forgot to add that on or if they did it must of evaporated on the way from the kitchen. Dessert was brownies and they were dry were a brownie should be slightly soft in the centre.Overall nice as I said but not great.

Drinks a bit pricey but that is to be expected from hotels. The service could do wiht being more efficient as on busy periods not enough staff were available to serve and a queue built up.

I have to comment, after reading other harsh reviews. The food was enjoyable, although overpriced. The service was very attentive & personal (despite the restaurant being busy) by the lovely Jazmine. When I mentioned I had arrived starving, the starter appeared within minutes.

Despite being the oyster customer's meal took 1 and a half hours to arrive.When it did arrive the adult portions were small (though the kids portions were large), it was over cooked and over salted.

Ate at this place as we were staying at the hotel. Not the best and such a shame as most of the food on the menu looked quite nice, well that is until it was brought out to us! Considering the prices of the food I would have expected better. Although the service was very good and they appeared to be trying their best. I think with a bit more direction and a bit more care, a few tweaks on the menu and it could potentially be a pleasant meal, however currently it's not I'm afraid time for a call to chef Ramsey I think? Or Chef Jones!

A very dated and shabby restaurant with broken stained chairs and our table was sticky. Service was painfully slow. The food served wasn't cooked properly and we didn't get what we ordered. The waitress laughed when we pointed out the problem and took it back. The replacement dish wasn't much better. It was served on a cold plate making the food cold very quickly. Then our dessert arrived and wasn't the dessert which we ordered, just a poor imitation of it. The portion sizes were tiny with very high prices. The hotel chain changed hands a few months ago, I understand they use agency staff in the kitchen, there is no pride shown in anything presented in this restaurant.

saw a few negatives about this place but we dined here on both nights of our weekend & were more than happy.

Tiny portions, very limited menu, reheated food when I attended, over priced. Served like haute cuisine, but very very poor value for money. Will not be attending again, my money will be going in someone elses till

Service is a major issue with this hotel.. I attempted to get a pint from bar only to be told the lady who worked the bar was on ' lunch' and had left the bar in the hands of someone who had never pulled a pint before!! After 4 attempts I eventually got a lager that didn't look like a nice cream... Person behind bar very apologetic but even stated 'this is rubbish' as left on her own with no experience!! I have to agree.
