Hedera Bar & Restaurant in Wigan

This place is probably the best restaurant in the country that I’ve ever been to. I got the chicken gyro, it was AMAZING! The waiter was so nice.

6 diners, all had starter and mains, food and service were excellent

Had a big party for bottomless brunch in August. I was so disappointed with the customer service on the day when I walked in as the bride on the hen party I heard a member of staff say "Can't be arsed with this already" A friend walked in shortly after as asked where the stairs were to he greeted with " Maybe if you looked for the stairs you'd see they are there". Another member of staff said on serval occasions " I shouldn't even been here got concussion" The bar wasn't stocked they had to get go get ice and juices from downstairs. There was no coffee or espresso martinis which where promised on bottomless brunch. Also said there wasn't the right glasses so was served pornstars in wine glasses. Eventually when another member of staff took over the food and drinks we did have a good time a young girl who was working was lovely and tried her best to make us all happy and settled.  After trying to dicuss problems we had with the business itself it has taken months to get in touch or even give an explanation. It was discussed on the day and on several occasions we said food was missing and even discussed how the staff acted when we walked in with another member of staff. I've had messages ignored and been spoken to like rubbish by staff over messages. Cctv doesn't have audio so cant be proved 0 Apology. I am so disappointed with the customer service and won't be returning and the people who joined me on the day won't be either.

Tried pizza there one day, one: it was strangely small like a kid's pizza, two: it tasted like a cheap pizza you buy in the supermarket, to have an imitation of the real thing. I'm not sure if that's normal or some sort of a strange accident /shortage day, as I have never eaten there before, but the quality of that pizza was very far from what it should be.

The food was excellent and plentyful helped with the 50% off offer, young lady that served us was very helpful and friendly, only marked the atmosphere down because we were the only ones in when we got in and it was a bit cold but it was filling up nicely when we left.

by far the best place we have both been to for a while. The food was absolutely insane and the service was great. The staff were so lovely and the atmosphere was amazing. We live an hour away and would definitely travel to come back to this restaurant.

I was appalled at the price of a pint of diet coke. £7. £3 for a fruitshoot.

It was so disappointing that we were there for 45 minutes without receiving any food or drinks and were seated upstairs alone. The lack of service and isolation greatly impact the overall experience. It is important for establishments to ensure timely service and a pleasant atmosphere for their customers. However we did not receive any of that. So after 50 mins of being there ( for our 2 hour time slot) we asked for a full refund of our deposit back. Very disappointed as this was booked and paid for 4 weeks in advance.

First time eating at hedera, well what can i say the food was absolutely delicious 😋 cant fault any of it highly recommend the sharing menu, it was stunning food and half price on a thursday my new fav place to eat 😊

This is the first time I've been to hedera and it's definitely the last. Went for a meal for a 1st birthday. When we got there it felt like we were pushed in the back room. We were told that we were on the long table. There were 23 of us . The tables were sticky. A girl came to ask about drinks so we ordered went to pay and was told it would all go on one bill. We objected to this because we specifically asked for separate bills. Anyway that got sorted. The meals started to arrive me and my friend had ordered the sliders which was two mini cheeseburgers, chorizo sauce with salad plus a portion of hand cut chips. We didn't want the sauce. Everyone had got their meals and I was still waiting. My friend got he's burgers no cheese on them and a bit of green leaf which was the salad. Waited a good 30 minutes for chips. I eventually got my chips nearly 45 minutes late. my chips were chuncks of fried potatoes not chips. Still no burgers. When eventually my burgers arrived I asked where was the cheese and was told "oh that's in the sauce that you didn't want " so why call them cheeseburger? My friend went to bar for a drink and was told he would have to wait until they'd finished serving food. One of our group asked about o% beer they don't sell it. Apparently there was only 3 staff serving which is ridiculous when a party of 23 and other customers as well. We had got a drink before we went home and the next thing we were told was " we're closing in a minute " not very good customer service. Never no more if I want cheeseburger in future I'll go McDonald's .

Food today was exceptional as always prices reasonable for the quality. Staff were attentive and professional.

We walked, in and was seated. It was obvious that they weren't ready for service. Cardboard and rubbish was around the place. There was a young lad running around trying his best. His I believed boss, was busy doing something on her phone. Our order of our 1st tapas came and we waited 30mins and still we hadn't had a drink. Usually I don't mind a wait it's normal, but on a bottomless brunch, with a time limit is unacceptable. We decided that the service wouldn't improve in our time slot. It was a shame. Frustrated, we decided to leave.

Don’t bother going to Hedera Wigan for bottomless brunch. Got a rare occasion of a date day and we got there at 12 and at 12.30 still didn’t see anyone remotely making any drinks for anyone in there. One staff member was unboxing stuff behind the bar- one chilling on her phone. People were served full meals before one drink was made. We had to walk out. Such a shame.

Defo recommend this place. Great value for money and great service really enjoyed the bottomless brunch and the food was amazing x

Our Daughter had her wedding reception on the 24 May at Hedera we had the Pasta buffet and pizza it was lovely food and the staff were friendly and very professional thank you for making our evening special.

Visited this establishment today and had a wonderful experience. The staff is very friendly and the service is quick. It seems like they have changed their menu recently as the duck pancakes were no longer available, but we didn't mind. We ordered two dishes, and they were prepared within 15-25 minutes. The food was delicious, and the drinks were excellent. We'll definitely be coming back again!

This is a hidden gem.... Amazing food and I'm very fussy... Great cocktails in really sorry I didn't get his name but front of house was just incredible very friendly helpful and worked so hard Can't wait to go back👍💯

Great food and drink offers. Staff were all lovely and the decor was very cool

The food was nice but not as hot as I'd have liked, this is understandable because it's tapas, you're getting all the dishes at once so they will start getting cold as the chefs cook the other of your dishes, if you order several at once. I think you probably could order one at a time though or as many as you want. I had creamy, truffle mushrooms and the sauce was so nice! The subtle hint of truffle worked so well with the cream. The portions are small due to the tapas dishes, so if you are sharing do get two, as the prawn pil pil came with three prawns. ( it was very nice though, I recommend ordering extra bread to tip in the spicy, garlicky oil that the prawns are cooked in ) There is other options for food such as pizza, hanging kebabs and gyros. They also had 50% off the tapas dishes, this was on a Wednesday, I believe they do it a couple of other days during the week too.

There's not many places we dislike but this is one we love. Wait staff are incredible, big shout out to Lucas who always goes above and beyond. New menu is incredible

No brandy. Waited nearly 20 minutes to be told so. And no bottle beer. Had the bottomless brunch with a group of 20 people. Cocktails have very little/no alcohol.. Disappointed. Would not return, or recommend

Wowza! I feel such a Karen right now with this review but after our experience yesterday evening thought I’d share. Turned up on time had to wait 10 mins to be seated. The place was hectic understandable for a Saturday but still no one seemed to know what was happening was so strange. Finally sat down waited almost 20mins for the 1st drink which came and was of a thick consistency definitely not what we expected.(bork) We then asked for another drink and waited half n hr we had to ask Twice for a drink not once but twice. We got 1 drink in a hr. Food well the meatballs was defo cooked 3 days prior n warmed up the lasagne looked lovely tasted rather odd. No one ate the food on our table so it wasn’t just mine. Again then we needed a drink and so again the palavour of ordering one just put us off. We got a free shot and a 10% service charge. Which was removed. I do not recommend this place honest worst experience in a bar ever. I gave 2 stars for atmostphere as the fish in the tank looked like they was having more fun, definitely consuming a lot more liquid than us haha. Karen.

Had a great afternoon at Hedera. First time visiting and enjoyed bottomless brunch. Our server Jack was great, nothing was too much, fast service, never waited for drinks, very friendly. Would highly recommend

A little late with my review, but visited for a bottomless brunch a few weeks ago with my group of friends and had a brilliant time! The food and drinks were great- however the menu was a little limited for a vegetarians (although I appreciate that the tapas was more targeted at meat eaters!). But the main reason the experience was so good was the staff- they were so friendly and accommodating, which really added to the experience. There were a few issues with food/drink taking a little long- but the staff sorted this straight away and gave us a free bottle of Prosecco (which more than made up for it!)

Good food, and decent portions.

Seemed very unorganised. No menu but staff gave list of options. No brown sauce available for breakfast and asked for butter several times before giving up. 😕 asked twice by different staff how much deposit we had paid for kids event. Lucky my little boy loved the event so didn't spoil the day.

Just called in for a bit to eat and it was lovely. Food very good and service excellent.

We walked in as we hadn't booked and got seated straight away no problems. A young lad explained the tapas dishes and how many to get. Didn't wait too long for food. Lovely place, really kind and helpful staff too. It did get quite busy but that didn't phase them. Have recommended to family and friends already and we can't wait to go back. All 6 of us really enjoyed the food and the kids even said so too. The food itself was insane, big shout out to the chef.

Bottomless brunch- food was really quite nice, small tapas style portions but enough to fill us. There was no atmosphere and the place was completely empty, the coctails were very nice, we realised that they was going down a bit too well, then realised we couldnt taste any alcohol. Had a total of around 8 cocktails each over the two hours and came out completely stone cold sober.

I live in Florida and visit Wigan to see my family as often as possible, my sister is always trying to show me the best restaurant when I visit, and compare to what I am used to, I am very fussy due to having the best. Today I found a favourite that I will be back to next visit. It is for all budgets, eat small or big, a little of something or a lot of anything. I tried a few dishes and all were very tasty, I even asked for more bruschetta. Service was excellent and attentive. Lovely atmosphere. Hell I might be back before I leave this visit. Lol Thankyou .... great experience.

Came for tea wednesday night food was amazing , staff lovely and friendly but not , over at youre table constantly asking you , is the food ok or trying to force youre choice on the menu , price’s very reasonable , and was 50% off when we came , the restauraunt itself is very nice inside , chilled vibe

Strange experience. Food was hit and miss but overall ok. The atmosphere was strange. Felt like we were sat in a back room with dance tracks playing over the radio

Been here twice now and it is amazing. Portions aren't very big so best to buy a few dishes but they're absolutely delicious and good value for money. Staff are always wonderful, and they have cocktails!

We love this place, been lots of times. Especially good when the food has 50% off. Best hand cut chips ever! Only negatives are the lack of parking and more vegetable choices would be better.

Lovely friendley Staff Delicious Food

Had our Xmas Do in their function room last night and it was an amazing experience! Staff were incredible and extremely patient and hardworking all night. A few of us ordered food and it was all delicious and so photogenic in presentation, complements to the Chefs. Also as an added bonus the function room was FREE to hire (a £100 deposit, which is perfectly understanble given the time of year, but this was fully refunded on the night) we will definitely be back for more functions there and also ourselves for the food! Thanks again to all those involved for a great night!

Went to an 18th party upstairs and the young waitress with dark hair had a miserable face and was rude to customers all night. Also swore when being impatient as people was walking past to get through.

Great place we'll worth a visit

Really enjoyed my night there, Jack was a gem to us all night!

We had an alright night at the quiz tonight the staff where amazing and did everything possible to make us comfortable… only problem was the quiz “master” didn’t seem to know what he was doing or saying and quite a few of the answers where wrong! I’d recommend you for food and service but we won’t be returning for a quiz night again. Especially since we paid to be in the quiz it just seemed so un-organised.

The food is absolutely amazing, cannot be faulted in anyway and the staff are so friendly and accommodating. I would recommend everyone to go. I had steak Gyros and my Wife had the marinated chicken kebab. We will definitely be going again very soon.

Function....I think not. A bunch of kids with no idea about customer service. Very little choice on drinks. No ice at one point. Badly organised for a function. Will not be going again. Some of our guests left and went to the pub. Nothing like the pictures on Facebook. Disappointed.

We went tonight expecting the same experience as previously. What a disappointment. The menu has changed and the quality of the food has gone from fantastic to appauling. The waitresses were lovely but rushed off their feet. Complained to the staff and asked to speak to the manager but he never came over so we left. What a disappointment.......all as we wanted was a nice meal with our son and dad. NEVER AGAIN

We came here yesterday for a birthday meal 50%off all food excellent service,the food was delicious. I can 100% recommend this restaurant.

Service was great, very efficient with taking food and drink order. Can't fault the staff at all. Food and drink was just average. They had no lemonade of any kind not bottles or on draft. Food was alright but nothing super special. I was kind of expecting something a bit more based on the menu presentation the decor etc. Luckily it was 50% off food so it didn't feel too bad. The tables we thought are not spaced out enough in the bar area. We had a booth and it felt weird having a laugh because the 3 other tables could hear every word even when we were talking quieter and it felt as though ehen we were laughing and enjoying ourselves as though everyone was looking at us because they could hear. Maybe it's a different atmosphere on a Friday night than midweek? Glad we came to experience it, wouldn't necessarily make it my first choice to return to but wouldn't refuse the offer to come back.

Not the best. The food was average at best and none of the staff had a clue about the very limited wine. Only one beer on draught as well. Sorry but won’t be going back

First time at Hedra for my daughters 23rd birthday on the 24th march. Went with my daughter 2 sons and daughters boyfriend. Absolutely amazing food cant fault it will definitely be visiting often. All staff were so lovely and polite made you feel welcome. My daughter said that man is lovely turns out he is the manager. My daughter got 2 free cocktails for her birthday. Thank you to the manager and staff for making a nice night for my daughters birthday and making us feel so welcome.
