Hawthorne Farm in Leeds

Went to Hawthorne farm this evening. It was busy as expected. It did take a while for our food to get us however this was expected. We were served by a lovely girl who was very busy yet she still smiled and helped us order our meals online. She made us feel very welcome, I think she said her name was Eva. She was very kind and polite, we would definitely come back here again. Calvary was lovely!

Waiting for flights to Poland, great place to grab some food a d a pint, walkable to Check-in at Leeds Bradford. Dee's lasagne is to die for!

Denise was a luvly host to our group. Very friendly and welcoming. Beer tasted nice and the food also was nice. All very nice.

We visited here after it Been recommended by a relative who visits when travelling abroad, we arrived around 4-30 and my husband got our drinks I sat at the table and put cutlery out with the drinks a lemonade and appletise in a bottle and we both went to get the carvery which no one seemed in a rush to serve came back to the table to find the waitress had removed our drinks and cleared the cutlery how you would remove a full unopened drink and one that hadn’t Been touched when the table was set ready to sit down my husband asked her where they were she said something can’t recall what and went away after a few minutes I went to the bar to the most miserable bar man I’ve ever come Across I explained that she said she would sort it and his reply was she told the Manager not me which then he game Me the drinks now onto the food it Was the Worst meal I have had for a long time couldn’t cut The beef at all the cauliflower was rock hard and Roasts weren’t much better just a very sorry place to be in where no one seems bothered about 1 being courteous and 2 walking round with not Much enthusiasm we most certainly won’t be going again

Popped in for a quick bite before our flight our server was Eva she was lovely very helpful food was great lots of choice on the menu we went for the chip shop supper it was lush

Had a lovely time with my mates before we headed off on holiday. The customer was outstanding and the food was lovely. Was served by two lovely ladies Densie T and Julie who were so helpful and friendly.

This is a lovely friendly pub. The food is excellent and staff are attentive and friendly. Very clean environment and a lovely atmosphere. Highly recommend a visit.

Lo tenía mejor, lo tenía peor. El asador es barato y se obtienen porciones generosas. Por lo general, está saturado, por lo que el servicio puede ser un poco lento si ordena fuera del menú principal. Hemos visitado Hawthorne Farm varias veces este año y nunca nos ha decepcionado. Cómo el personal se las arregla para hacer frente a un establecimiento tan ocupado y todavía sonreír es un misterio. El asador de todo el día fue realmente bueno y los postres (los ojos son definitivamente más grandes que la barriga) son una maravilla para contemplar. Las carverías no son las favoritas de todos, pero esta fue una clase y una excelente relación calidad precio Altamente recomendado.

Paramos para un almuerzo rápido antes de tomar un vuelo. Increíblemente ocupado, pero el personal también nos vio rápidamente debido a mi madre visiblemente enferma.

Llegamos a la granja Hawthorne para una gran comida antes de volar a las carreteras y luego para el desayuno la mañana después de nuestro vuelo de regreso.

Carvery anunció 11 am. Se le dijo a las 11. 10 Ya no pude pedir el desayuno, así que compré un asador, que estaba disponible en 1143. También los empalmes de carne eran del día anterior apenas calentado. No se moleste en ir temprano, ya que aún estaban preparando bien la comida después de las 11 am. No estoy seguro de por qué es tan difícil cumplir EL TIEMPO anunciado que hacen todos los días.

Huge lovely feel to the place. It was super busy as we visited on a Friday evening.

We came here for luncheon, the place has a very welcoming and relaxed atmosphere and staff were friendly. On a whim, I decided to go for the "luxury macaroni cheese and streaky bacon" which was nice enough and a decent portion size.

Came for sunday carvery, very nice ,meat portion was big, veg very nice, plenty of choice, also was roasts, boil potatoes an mash, lashing of lovely gravy, my partner chose the Yorkshire wrap with roast beef,he enjoyed it, but need a lot of gravy to soften it, good value for money ...

The guy serving at the carvery counter needs to be trained in customer service and portion sizing. Paid £8.59 for a slither of meat and a plate full of veg!, could have got two chicken breasts for £7.99 which would have been 3x more meat. Not good value for money. And the quality was poor - Yorkshire pudding and veg were very dry as been sat there a long time and the veg selection was poor especially at the peak time. Would not recommend

Me and my partner come here alot which was why for my partners birthday we choose to book a table for a family get together. Well so apperantly they do no accept bookings on a sunday i discovered.. Fine not my issue. My issue is i called to book as my partners mother is wheelchair bound and wanted to make sure we could get a table that was suitable for her. The gentleman i spoke to was extremley rude even after explaining my concerns as to why i wanted to book. His attitude was asif to say not my problem take it elsewere.He told me if he took bookings it would just be a booking restaurant pretty sure most places do both. We would have been travelling 15 miles just to have our family gathering here for my partners birthday i was not prepared to stand and wait and wait until a table that was suitable for my partners mother became avaliable whilst watching everyon else been seated. Having worked in the industry myself for many years i would be ashamed if my team spok to someone how i have been tonight.I feel you may need to retrain your team on DDA law and what it means.I will be writting to management as i feel his attitude was disgusting which is a shame as me and my partner have had some lovely meals here. Very upset and let down by how your team spoke to me with no compassion or genuine interest.

Went here with friends for Sunday lunch, extremely busy and long quews for Carvery. Food eatable but not brilliant, roast potatoes soggy and cabbage undercooked. Plus side sweets massive. Ideally situated for LBA airport.

We often visit Hawthorne for dinner and it was great as always and service was great. The staff are always so friendly and helpful. The desserts are to die for and it amazes me how they can produce such great cakes.

Four of us called into the Hawthorne Farm on Sunday evening 2 September before flying out from Leeds Bradford the following day. We walked up from the Travelodge and seen how full the car park was. On going into the pub, it was heaving with people, but the young lady at the door welcomed us in and showed us to one of the only vacant tables available. We were given menus and then went to the bar and ordered drinks. We seen the long queue for the carvery and elected to order meals from the menu. To be honest, with the amount of people ordering food, we expected to wait at least half an hour, but within about 15 minutes, four different meals we had ordered were brought to our table. I have to say that each meal was really well presented and we all cleared our plates. For the amount of people in the pub and for the meals to be brought out so quickly and well presented was very impressive. The staff were all very welcoming and cheerful, that if I lived nearby, you would be sick of the sight of me as a regular! Can't recommend this pub highly enough.

A Sunday carvery that doesn’t serve mash is disappointing but to get my order wrong despite checking twice is ridiculous! I would recommend that you train staff to know the options available for the carvery!

Well they try to make up size for the lack of quality. It doesn't work. The service is pretty poor too.

We visit this pub regularly but were left disappointed today. We ordered 3 meals, food arrived quickly, well two of the three meals did. Waited nearly 10 mins for 3rd meal to arrive after complaining. Management dismissive not very apologetic. Third meal finally arrived but had to be sent back as chicken was cold and cheese not even melted, by which time daughter had finished her food and partner was half way through his meal. So much for a family meal out and don't get me started on the cost of the soft drinks total rip off!!

I Would highly recommend the carvery. The Hawthorn uses fresh veg and you can tell in the flavour. The meat is so tender and they are not skinny with their portions. The cakes are to die for. Very helpful staff, manager can be seen, he walks around making sure tables are cleared. A great lunchtime experience. Their prices are very competitive. You can even watch the planes landing and taking off while you eat. Great venue! Ive recommended to friends and had good responses back from them.

We only go for carvery as we find the other menu a bit hit & miss. Carvery always good & plentiful. Chef carving was miserable & just grunted when I spoke but other than that staff all seem very nice. Maybe he was having an off day.

Lovely carvery lots to chose meat veg etc never had a bad meal . What I like is food always nice and hot very good value just have small plate but still enough unless you have a big appetite.room for lovely deserts Denise t great member of staff asking if anything was ok very friendly. Had breakfast here during the week a few times and always good. Went in on Friday morning, not realising it was classed as weekend and was buffet breakfast. The bacon was hard, black pudding dry, we were told there was no hash browns ready. The toaster was not toasting and customers were putting it through three times, which took forever. We settled for a slice of bread. I went back after our meal, to see if we could get a slice of toast and found it was now so high, it was burning the toast. Always been impressed the way someone comes and enquiries if everything is ok, no one did.The lady who was clearing tables was doing a good job and was very busy. Disappointed it was not the usual standard.

My brother took me to Hawthorne Farm, for a birthday meal. It was my first visit, my brother goes there often.

This was quite nice not the best ive. Having said that it was a nice sized meal at a good price. The staff are friendly i would visit here again

Went for breakfast and it was terrible. Bacon was majority fat and covered in black charcoal bits and the 'giant'pancakes were the size of a saucer! Had to go and ask for one of the meals we had ordered as th3y had forgotten it. When the food arrived it looked like it had been dropped onto the plates from a great height, would not recommended!

Staying at a local hotel before an early flight next morning we popped in here for a 5 O'clock dinner. We ordered a fillet of salmon with hollandaise sauce and new potatoes, and a steak and kidney suet pudding with mash and veg. The service was very quick. The salmon was very small but tasty. The suet pudding was steaming hot and delicious. But the two veg were lukewarm and the potato mash was cold. I took the plate back to the bar. 10 minutes later nothing had happened. I went back to the bar and they apologised, saying it should have been a replacement meal. 1 minute later the meal reappeared. However this must have been the replacement meal which had sat ten minutes. So guess what? The mash was stone cold again. By this time my partner had finished her salmon and I was hungry so I ate the cold veg and hot suet pudding. When the blonde lady who's name I didn't get asked if everything was O.K. I told her the whole story. I asked for a refund. She came back and said they couldn't do a refund???? But she said I could have a piece of cake free. So we took a huge chunk of the carrot cake back to the hotel and it did two of us.

Popped for a family meal as staying down the road at the travelodge for an early flight. Friendly staff and lovely food. Recommend the Yorkshire pudding and the ploughmans. Great to sit out and watch the planes too

Called in here because when we've flown from Leeds/Bradford airport in the past we often say we'll go there one day for a meal, so as we were picking family up from the airport we had an hour to kill, peckish and dinner time so we did, with regrets, very busy, understandable, bang on 1 o'clock, the que for the carvery was quite long & slow moving so decided to get something off the menu, Quiche Lorraine, jacket, salad coleslaw & an extra side of onion rings, washed down with a lime & soda, well not long to wait about 5 mins & pa ding it arrived soggy bottom pastry, with chewy jacket potatoes, & (rubber ring) onion rings, didn't taste of onion at all, in fact they didn't taste of anything, wished we'd gone for the carvery, you could tell it'd been microwaved. Left most of it salad was ok, so was the coleslaw probably cos it couldn't be microwaved, anyhow glad we went but next time all stick with homemade sarnies instead.

Brilliant meal, quick service, Especailly Tinks as she was making sure everything was ok, as well as clearing up my table pretty quick. Totally worth a visit to anyone who’s either landing or flying out anywhere. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

I visited Hawthorn farm on Monday (Bank Holiday) It was very busy but we got seated on arrival! Each member of Staff was lovely, the member who seated us, the one who took our order, the chef who served or food and our table waitress! They were all very happy to help! The food was absolutely delicious, and piping hot! There were lots to choose from (carvery) and it all looked delicious- especially the desserts. We got a ‘cakeaway’ to take home as wee were so full up, it was huge and tasted lovely. Hawthorn farm is most deffinitly worth a visit and I will most certainly be back! The pricing in the resteraunt is also excellent, very cheap for the standard of the food served! 5*

We when for the carvery which was lovely had a big selection of food, beef, pork, turkey or gammon yorks lots of vegetables and potatoes, there is also a large menu to choose from good desserts ice-cream and a large variety of cakes

We visited here as a family. The menu is extensive and includes a carvery option. Lots of choices from light bites to full meals. Food well priced and portions large so very good value. Food good for mass produced food, and arrived hot. Desserts are massive; we shared one between 4 of us

Been twice now to this lovely pub. It's right next to the runway at Leeds Bradford airport, so great to plane watch.

On having a meal on sat tea time at the Hawthorne we were faced with mucky tables and the table we were given was terrible it had not been cleaned staff were not helpful and clearly there was not enough staff working it was not even that busy at the time we were there..we ate carvery and the mash potatoes were appalling ...on complaining which is something we do not do as a couple we were told it was because it had been under lights to long ..I ask myself whats that all about !!!! I was highly disappointed with my experiance and will not be returning

We visit this restaurant at least once a week and have not had a bad meal yet. The carvery has an excellent choice of vegetables and the meat is cooked to perfection. It is excellent value for money and the staff are always very pleasant.

Pub was very busy ... had the carvery which was good plenty of choice If you are a plane spotter this is the pub for you as the runway is right outside it.

Visited on a week day at 6pm. Very busy, although chef cutting the carvery didn’t seem to appreciate how big the queue had become, waited about 15 mins. He was oblivious.

Could not fault this place at all. Was greater by a lovely waitress called Robyn who was more than accompanying to our disabled friend. We also were served on the bar by a lovely blonde lady who was very patient whilst we ordered a large number of drinks and then we received excellent service from a man called Connor who took our food order and was extremely attentive to our order.

Average food, but good friendly service from Christobel. Will come back again, good location and plenty for the kids to do.

The menu gave a wide range of choices, ensuring that there was something desirable for all 4 in our party. The food was served promptly and very enjoyable. Two of us decided to join in a sharing platter starter - it was enormous and enough for 3 possibly 4 people. The main course portions were also ample. The crust on the beef and ale pie was quite thick but there was plenty of meat in the pie. While there is a good choice of desserts at reasonable prices we were all too full to order desserts. The servers were efficient and very attentive. A very enjoyable evening. and we will definitely go again.

Ordered a breakfast, sausages were not nice. Boys ordered pancakes and they were hard so not impressed. No waffles!! . Play area was closed for cleaning so kids were unhappy as it was a treat to visit and by the time it opened it was time to go.

Great service, the lady on the till Alex was very polite and met all our needs when asking for modifications on food! And is always polite and friendly when she serves us.

Visited last Sunday - very busy but staff were extremely polite and helpful and got us seated within 10 minutes. We plumped for the Carvery, plenty of choice and the meats were absolutely delicious. Vegetables were piping hot and regularly replenished. Too full for dessert but had to have a ‘cakeaway’ - which was also very good - no way we could eat one each. Overall - very pleasant and reasonably priced, would be happy to return.

My partner and I came to eat here with a few friends.

Couldn't find any disabled parking, no greeting by staff, tables left uncleared, cold food even after asking for our meals to be reheated and loud music.

Visited with 6 adults and 4 children.

First time visit with my partner and mum and dad for her 80th birthday. Lovely spacious place with the added bonus of seeing the planes come in to land at LBA. Shown to our table and was told the procedure for ordering drinks and food. Food was lovely and all had clean plates at the end. Lots of choice on the menu and a good choice for veggies too. Service was good and the tables were promptly cleared and cleaned by the staff.

We arrived at the Hawthorne Farm at about 6 o'clock on Friday 10th August, which probably is one of their busiest times.

I love the lunches here but I can’t believe how wrong they’ve got the buffet breakfast.

Booked in for 14 people very short notice, had everything we could have wanted! Staff were lovely, couldn't fault it! Very impressed with the the young ladies and gent on the bar, would come again just for them

i visited this restaurant a week back and was served once by alexandra? with the purple hair, and again by dannii and they made me feel very welcome, very chatty and friendly and looked very happy in their job, im not sure how you have got such happy cheerful staff working on hot days like these. we chose the carvery which was lovely and hot, it all looked fresh. my wife chose the giant yorkshire wrap which also looked great! big portions! this was served to us by a young male with longish shaggy hair, very attentive and helpful. luke then checked to see if our meals were okay and cleared the plates very efficiently once we had finished.

Generally a very poor experience. We went for food due to its close location to LBA the evening before our flight. When we got there we were waiting to order food at the bar whilst others arriving later were served before us. 2 of the 4 bar staff were gossiping not 3 metres from us without even attending to us or several other people waiting. Upon placing our food, several items had to be reordered as the had 'run out' but failed to inform us of this before coming over to our table in no less than several trips. We also saw other customers being refused refunds due to them running out of beef at the carvery, as "it was the customer's choice not to have the carvery". Food was poor when it arrived, either greasy or dry for everything we tried, with salad crusty from being evidently left out for several hours. Their drinks were overpriced and weak. Following all this they failed to come and check on our table which mirrored another review left here where other tables were checked on routinely but ours seemed to be 'forgotten' due to our relative dissatisfaction. In conclusion we would suggest AVOIDING this place if possible, especially if you are passing travellers to the airport or otherwise like ourselves.

You can`t miss Hawthorne Farm especially if you are flying from Leeds/Bradford airport what a way to start your holiday with meal beautifully served superb choice of menu all swilled down with beverage to suit your taste, now food we had a carvery plus 2 Jacket potatoes with various filling YUM YUM if they have not got anything you want you only have to ask & they will do their best to accommodate your taste but I am sure you will be very satisfied as we were. It does not have table service for the carvery but does for the main menu.

I've eaten here a couple of times recently....the staff are really excellent so it's clearly a well managed business. The food is really good too - great portions & not pricey. Easy to park too.

First time we have used this pub for food as we normally get it in the airport but not anymore! We all got the carvery and it was lovely, half the price of airport prices, friendly staff and really good portion on the deserts, we enjoyed it that much we called in before we set off for home.

Highly recommend a visit food is excellent family friendly and children's menu too everyone enjoyed it definitely going again

Been a few times last twice wasn’t good. Went a couple of months ago wasn’t so good we ordered fish shop supper and was sooo over cooked couldn’t eat it, server I think knew as I saw him ask other tables round us is it ok he never asked us . Hawthorne farm at birkinshaw is much better.

Visited twice and yes you get plenty on your plate but it's poor quality, lukewarm buffet food served by chefs wearing grubby whites ! Would not recommend or revisit.

Visited as a family. Have visited before and enjoyed it but sadly standards have slipped on the carvery to the point of it being a waste of money.

I visited for lunch with my daughter and our dog. Unfortunately when we got to our table our dog was taken poorly and had an accident, I cleaned up what I could but needed some water to completely clear away.

Went to Hawthorn Farm to have a meal. We sat outside and watched the planes whilst enjoying a lovely tasty meal. The waiter service was excellent. Luke looked after us and was very polite and friendly and when we needed extra sauces he was really quick to help. The meal was excellent and plenty of food on the plate.

Called for breakfast today.. just missed the time so ordered meals...my son had the carvery which he said was good...i ordered the all day breakfast.. but i am very fussy so i altered the meal quite a lot...the lady who served me didnt bat an eyelid with my requests and said they would add extra of the other items.. when the meal came it was all cooked spot on and a nice decent plateful...icecream after which again was really nice...will definately be dragging the hubby out here...

Excellent staff was very polite and cheerful it was my sister 75th birthday and one of the staff sang happy birthday to her and gave her a slice of 🎂 cake. We had a great day out. We will be back very soon

My last review was not very complimentary of this restaurant however we have just had breakfast there and we were very pleased that things were much better than last time. The breakfast was excellently cooked and a joy to eat. We were served by Denise J and she was extremely pleasant, courteous and friendly and we hope that our thanks will be passed on from the management. We are planning another visit next week and hope Denise J will serve us again.
