We recently dined at the Harvester in a large group of 8. We were served with impeccable service by Anita. Being a large group, it can be quite testing on staff, however Anita was patient with us and ensured anything we requested was well looked after. Thanks for the wonderful customer service Anita and keep up the good work!

A really good breakfast, very impressed. The app doesn't give opportunity to make requests like 'no tomato please' or 'beans seperate please' but I rang the restaurant and a lovely and very helpful employee sorted it out for me.

Despite an issue with one of the meals, our server Anita went above and beyond to create a positive experience for us. Anita ensured our visit was one to remember… she was the talk of the car during our journey home, thank you Anita!

We booked twice in two weeks since we had a money off voucher. Specifically asked for a booth and they placed us in no problem. Both times Michelle waited on us and she is a credit to the company! Such a lovely lady made us feel really welcomed and comfortable had a laugh with us and was super friendly towards my 1 year old daughter. We go out a fair bit and she stands out as one of the best servers we've had very personable. The food was just as amazing! Massive burgers and a delicious salad bowl it's my favorite place to eat. Very child friendly and a wonderful dining experience.

Forgot to book no problem lovely young lady on the door sat us no name ( tattoos ?) And Anita also was friendly & helpful.We actually used to come quite a lot but service and the waiting time had got really bad 😕 But presently surprised today it was steady but little wait between salad and main was just right for us to enjoy a drink.We only ate mains today which was delicious and good portion no room for dessert.But we will come back as service and food was excellent 👌

Visited with the wife on Thursday 2nd January for the Breakfast. The worst i have visited for cleanliness and if i wasnt there to complete my review we would not have even say down down to eat! The glass windows and doors were all smudged and the floors had debris all under the tables and on the seats. For a reputable chain you would expect higher standards (see photographs).Every eating establishment should be cleaning after every service. My wife had to place her coat on a bag to avoid the crumbs on the seats! It was obvious and clear that there are no regular cleaning schedules in place! This is poor management and if the public can see it is dirty then so should the management team. If you walk past this kind of clear dirty areas, then this is your standard and you are not leading or driving the cleanliness of your restaurant. The service was very good, and i have to say the food was tasty. We both went for an English breakfast, which was well cooked and good ingredients. I did complain and received an email back from the assistant manager stating that they would ensure the place was cleaned and introduce a rota for cleaning. All the floors were thick with dust and the salt and pepper pots caked in food waste. Under every table there was dirt! Why was this not already in place? Based on this being the dirtiest restaurant visited so far, i will go back in a few weeks to assess the level of cleanliness and see if they have improved. Guys, hang your heads in shame, because this was not acceptable by anyone`s standards. The whole place requires a deep clean and maintenance. So i have completed a return visit on Saturday 18th January to see how the cleaning was and if it has improved. Sadly i have to report, apart from the windows being cleaned it is still filthy and disgusting. The assistant manager assure me she was introducing a cleaning schedule and rota? This has not happened because there is food debris under every table so blatant lying about cleaning and shame on the management team for allowing this to happen, obviously this is your standard and level. We will not be returning to any Harvester ever!! Worst i have visited. dont go here!! Also not professional for staff to be eating behind the counters as you can see and it wasnt just this girl, there were others!!

The cold, the hot and the pink! Went here after going to the riverside with two kids, thinking it would be a quick dinner. Seated quickly and service started attentively, although once the food was ordered was a good 45 minutes before it actually arrived! On an average Saturday night in a not so busy restaurant. Food came, I ordered the triple combo, with one piece being cold, one being hot and the other pink! Sent the food back with the waiter who then sent the manager, who then came over and was unsure how to deal with it who then sent another manager, who then proceeded to tell me, it's all fine is all been checked, although this was barbie pink inside, not even a slight tinge, this was full on pink. Proceeded to talk to me as if I've never cooked or eaten chicken before. I find it ironic, he oversees all this, yet my partners kebab, which was cuts of halloumi and then raw onion, obviously that one slipped through too... They removed it from the bill which was fine, but not the point, the chicken was obviously sub par, yet tried to palm it off as fine.

Nice food, salad bar could do with a few more choices but overall OK!. Food off the menu was nice abit pricey these days for what it is, but what place isn't. Waiter we had was paul and he was great 👍. Would return in the future.

I never write reviews but I really want to give props to this place, the consistently delicious food and how great the staff always are, especially Zara as she's always friendly and never keeps me waiting on my mixed grill!

We were greeted on arrival with options for seating, no fuss and drinks followed quickly . Waitress was pleasant with a calming demeanor . Our party did not feel any intrusion but cared for at the same time . Only negative was the freezing wind when other customers arrived or departed. Outer door was fixed open !. Fully recommended. Walked in and upon being seated was informed they are low on stock on multiple items. Of which seemed like half of the menu. Waited just under 10 minutes and no one came to take our order not even drinks. Got up and left.

Poor experience Cold inside Cold food Wrong order

The restaurant was cold as the front door was left open. The starter came without the sauce, a small discount was offered with no apology and then didn't give us the discount. The waitress completely ignored us and we couldn't get more drinks or salt and pepper for our meals. The steak was mainly fatty and overcooked. Overall a bad experience and we couldn't wait to leave.

A modern purpose built box for a restaurant. The salad bar looked tired, and in need of a top up. This only seemed to happen if you asked. We waited an age for our food, when it came it had clearly been kept warm whilst waiting for the rest of the order of just four meals. Not your best effort, Harvester.

Service is the downfall of this place, the staff just couldn’t care less about their job! Staff love to congregate at the bar whilst tables of people are waiting to be served. Couldn’t complain about the food other than the fact it took to long to be taken away once everybody was finished. Overall, the waitresses need to have better training in customer service.

UPDATE December 2024 Took my wife, mother and son for a Christmas meal and thoroughly enjoyed the food . The only negative from our personal perspective was the amount of young and babies screaming and shouting. But this is just a generational niggle. Otherwise a good time out 😄 PREVIOUS: We popped in after a long day shopping and following our previous visit several years ago which easy great we we apprehensive. However the meal deal was good value and the food and service were good.

Got to be the worst meal ever. Salad bar empty. They ran out of chicken also. I ordered a bottle of champagne for my sisters birthday. It arrived open and REALLY warm. Steak was dreadful. Fish was tasteless and staff were rude and really didn’t want to be there on Xmas eve. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. £179 wasted.

We had a table booked for 6.15 and when we arrived we were shown to a table in the open area and we asked for a booth. We were told they were fully booked as if it was a problem to swap one table for another. The table we were meant to sit at never did get occupied so confused where the issue was. We were not given any cutlery and had to find someone to ask for them. We finally had our order taken at 6.35 and were told there was no salad bowls and we had to make do with plates and when bowls were ready we would receive them. Never did. Our food arrived by 7.10 no complaints over the food itself. Our waitress did not attend to us again and by 7.45 we had to go searching for her to ask for our children’s ’build your own sundae’. We watched her leave as her shift was probably over. I went to find someone else to ask who told me that she had to get our server to put the order through. I told her that she just went home and she took the order for me.. still not here by 8pm and there was around 4 tables at this point. We then had to find her again and by 8.10 (2 hours after arriving) we finally got our children’s deserts. As you can see from the picture, 20+ mins to serve this is appalling service and we won’t be coming back.

I enjoyed a delightful breakfast this morning; the service was exceptional. Anita provided outstandingly welcoming and helpful service. The food quality was superb, and I highly recommend this establishment.

The food was fairly good but it took ages to get the meal after ordering it.

Went on a Friday with the kids, took ages for someone to seat us and thats only because the person behind us flagged them down. Sat down for 15 mins and still no one had came over, kids were starving so we left and went to KFC next door. when we had left KFC the couple sat next to us who were in there before us were only just getting their food. Restaurant was only half full. Normally have a good experience at Harvester so very dissapointed

First visit to the Riverside Harvester ... and will never return. We had visited The Hub with our 10 month old and 4 year old. Before we 'hit the road' (which is around an hours journey) we thought it would be a good idea to get the little'uns in their PJs and fed so they could fall asleep in the car. We usually enjoy our local Harvester and thought this one wouls be no different, so booked a table for 6 pm. After waiting approx. 50 mins for our food, we were shocked to be told that it would still be atleast another 20 mins before our order would be plated. They were unable to expedite the food for the kiddies (which we didn't think was an unrealistic request). With two tiered children, we had to make the decision to leave hungry. The waiting time was so unrealistic and the staff seemed incompetent considering the restaurant was seemingly not at capacity. We weren't the only ones to leave. 2 other tables (who both said they had been waiting less time than us) walked out at the same time. Others were complaining left, right and centre about the service time and the food quality. We were shocked at how much food people were wasting. I would not waste your time going here ... unless you've got a lot of it to spare 🙈

food ordered @ 6.30 pm lead time 35-45 min , called restaurant order was ready but no one rider to deliver, i finally got the order after 1 hr 45 min , cold food went straight to bin and just eat refunded just £5.30 instead of full value.

Eve, the young lady who served us was fabulous! So welcoming, accommodating, friendly and attentive, without being overpowering. She was such good energy to have around our table. We were two friends meeting up halfway between our homes, so neither of us was too familiar with the area and she was able to helpfully advise us on visit to the area as well as on our meal and drink choices. Being on a strict diet at the minute, Eve very helpfully arranged for substitutions/switches which made me feel like I wasn't a nuisance, even though I know it's inconvenient for the chefs. I was very impressed that I was asked to sign a liability form for my allergies before being invited to the salad bar, it showed to me that the company and Eve cared for my wellbeing. We ended up spending far longer than we originally planned there, spending more than we thought too, however were more than happy to do so, as it felt like a really 'safe' space to catch-up, which, and neither Eve, nor Shanice (the other lady who helped us when Eve went on a break) knew, we were there for a last catch-up before my friend was having a massive 7 hour surgery just less than a week later to remove what was left of her bowel cancer amongst other nasty things so to feel comfortable was essential, so thank you!! P.S. I write this the day after her surgery, we wait to find out whether it was successful. Next few times I see her, will be at her own home, but when she's fit and able to, I know we'll be back as you all made it such a lovely visit.

Came in for a meal with family and Leah was our server she was very attentive and friendly, she also had great knowledge off the menu and recommended some great dishes. Would definitely go back. Leah is a real addition to the company.

Toilets were dirty and womens hand drier was not working no alternative to dry hands floors where wet and slippy generally poor. The waitress brought the wrong drinks after long wait for order to be taken had to take to member of staff to change. The salad bar had no bowls and half of the salad items were empty. General state of sald bar messy and in chaos. Long wait for food approx 40 mins for a chicken burger and a burger when arrived the bun just distingrated into much I imagine because it had sat in kitchen for long period

15-11-24... Went in just after 12 & the whole meal was a shambles. Took staff a while to take our order once seated even though there was plenty of staff around for the 5ish tables with customers. Once we started ordering they told us they were missing food items, but ok we picked something different, Unfortunately we waited well over 35 minutes for food & all we got was a sorry it's coming 2x, we had tables close by come in after us, eat & leave before we even received our meals. Once they showed up they had been under the lamps too long & food was dry & steak knife was that hot it burnt my hand from it being under the lamps. We had a passing comment from staff saying "hope it was worth the wait" before we even got a chance to reply she had left. We ate & left.!. No-one informed us why our food was taking so long & we felt like the staff wanted to avoid our table. 2nd time now service & food has been poor. We won't be returning.

Came in on my own. Looking for a quiet comfy meal by myself. Mentioned at the welcome. Sat in a quiet corner but a large loud group later joined. Staff subtly came over and asked if I wanted a move. Good job.

The place was cozy and warm. The service was good. The menu was interesting and the funny part is that the calories were written 🙌🏻😀 The food was tasty but I felt discomfort in my stomach after that... Overall i was satisfied with the place.

Extremely low food quality. It felt like I was eating burger van food at restaurant sit-down prices. I ordered the "Veggie Breakfast" with poached eggs. The vegan sausages and veggie fingers were low quality, the single mushroom was clearly frozen and rush-cooked. The provided bread was extremely thin and low quality, you would get better quality and thicker bread by just buying Tesco's or Sainsburys' cheapest own-brand bread (80p~). Only saving grace was the table staff, they were pleasant and attentive. The two poached eggs were okay but not worth the cost paid for the entire meal. Overall, not a good place for breakfast, try another place.

Food took about an hour to come out, everything was cold and overcooked and found a hair in the chicken wings. We asked to see a manager, was told 10 minutes later that he was too busy to come over. It wasn’t even very busy. Won’t be coming back again.

Stopped by Friday evening with no reservation. Our server Ruadhan was awesome, very friendly and helpful especially with my wife’s allergen and dietary requirements, taking the time to work out what she could and couldn’t have, and was very knowledgeable about the menu.

Eve was fantastic with service, serving twelve people she did an amazing job, nothing was too much and she kept her composure perfectly with our noise crew lol thanks Eve for making our night a banger👏

Bad service. Was not busy when visited but waited over an hour for meal ordered. They forgot to bring it to us. Forgot to ask if we wanted drinks. And food was awful. Garlic bread starter is just soggy pitta soaked in garlic butter slop. Never again

I would like to add to a good experience as it was my birthday yesterday the salad was delicious and the mixed grill was delicious Georgia our waitress was a sweet girl I gave her good feedback and at the end I left a tip for very good service I will be back another time but I came with my old support worker yesterday who is a very good friend of mine so good lunch all round thank you

When we arrived, our order was taken quickly. We ordered a rib eye steak (MR), a chicken burger, two salad bowls, and two refill drinks. We went and got our salad but had to remind the server about our drinks. There was no apology. When our food arrived after waiting nearly an hour, my wife's steak was well done. We had to find a server to complain. She said sorry, but there was no sincerity in it. They did not offer to take my food away and return with both meals. Instead, she said it would be 5 minutes to replace. We were happy to wait, but 25 minutes later, her food arrived. I had finished mine. The lady that delivered the meal said she would take my wife's meal off the bill. When we asked for the bill, we were questioned about the meal being taken off. We had to convince them that this is what we were told. I'm not sure why the manager did not come over to us to apologize. As a restaurant manager myself, we love coming to Harvester, but now have our doubts, as mistakes happen, but it's how you deal with it. There were two other tables near us that complained as well.

We had an amazing waitress called Zara who was funny, very nice and personable; the service, food and atmosphere were all amazing. 100% enjoyed our visit.

Superb 3 of us had bits and bobs as snacks included 2 salad bowls as helped by servers choice ...Superb never been there . V quiet v clean bubbly happy staff .

We came to eat here and we had the pleasure of Eve being our server. She was so polite, welcoming and knowledgeable, a real credit to the place. Tried some items from the revised menu, loved the hot honey bread. All food was well prepared, salad bar fresh, really tasty. Great experience as not been to Harvester in a while.

We visited this evening to celebrate our daughters 10th birthday. On arriving we were told about the new menu. But that food was taking a little longer than normal. Eve was our server who was brilliant and made the birthday girl feel so special. New menu and food was excellent. Well done Harvester especially Eve. 👏

Our table had empty vinegar no salt and no ketchup took from another table . My wife's ribs came out and the trainee came up to tell us the other 2 meals will be a few minutes as they are waiting for the onion rings . Our meals arrived about 5 minutes later . The trainee came back about 10 minutes later to check everything was OK. I told her I wasn't happy with the chunks of pineapple from the buffet microwaved wasn't to the standard we used to get .she replied I THINK they changed it with the new menu . I also told her the peas were cold she did offer to get some.more but I had nearly finished (didn't eat the.pineapple or the peas ). Maybe the trainee should have asked someone who knew the answer and not guessed . When we wanted to get the bill we had to call the staff at the bar as they were all there chatting!!!

Staff work very hard for demanding customers

Unclean salad bowls, incorrect orders, ice in all drinks including wine?!, ice in a drink where no ice was requested, 3 items ordered off the menu were not available, we weren’t informed that items were unavailable and unfortunately all 3 items were for the same person who was put on the spot to keep re-choosing something 3 times!! Requested a glass to go with bottle of beer which never arrived, had to go and find someone to get one. No on tap beers available. I had booked for my daughter’s 5th birthday and had family members with us. It was embarrassing to have booked such a place.

Even though we booked, arrived on time and was told our table had been given to someone else and the weight would be at least an hour. Poor service/ management

Stopped for a quick bite but ended up taking over an hour just to get kids meals. Place was grubby and food was very basic.

Booked a table with an hours notice. They had some issues with items that they ran out of and called us in advance. Didn't affect what we wanted. The food was excellent, we ordered small portions and it was just the right amount. The staff were friendly and professional, our server Baily went above and beyond to help us. They catered to an allergy well. We tipped because they deserved it. Will definitely be back. The seating wasn't comfortable at all, it's noisy and it echoes. The opening times on the booking part of their website and Google are incorrect.

Not the greatest i must admit the staff seem ok. But the fact they always run out of things is never a great sign. As the server told my friend she couldn't have 3 choices off the menu as had none. Ohhhh also note this was after she had ordered and the member staff had to return 2x. So thats crystal clearv (In response to there response) I agree to disagree sadly this wasnt my impression on this occasion

Went in today and was served by Ruadhan who was excellent and made our meal out as a family very enjoyable. Would definitely recommend and can’t fault the service provided my Ruadhan. 10/10!
