Great place to have a few pints, food and they have a large outdoor area, where its possible to watch sport on a large screen.

Popped in for a pre cricket beer. Bar staff were simply rude, beer was ok

Live band so good atmosphere but just took ages to get served, 30 minute wait at the bar two pints and that was it.

Stopped by for a quick meal for two at about 5pm on a weekday. Pub was not busy but had enough customers to make you feel comfortable. Interior decoration and fittings were past their best. The Building must have been grand in another age long gone. Ordered from the bar (2 meals for circa £12 plus a pint and mug of tea for wife, total about £18). Meal came quickly fish+chip and ham+eggs both OK for the price. Nothing to complain about but no reason to rush back again.

Good pub with lots of TVs, and events such as Kareoke on a Friday night. The food could be better quality, but for the price it is decent pub grub

Food (all day breakfast) was amazing. The waitress was rushed off her feet but was professional and welcoming. Would definitely return.

Staff and atmosphere is always good here. Dog friendly and relaxed, so a great Sunday afternoon boozer. The food was tasty but the side plate of cheesy chips was quite a small portion. Sport was on the telly, wide selection of drinks, outdoor garden, dog friendly indoors...overall a great afternoon at a nice pub.

We went when it was a bit dead, but food was lovely and drinks are very tasty. The service is great, even cracking a few jokes. The outside bit is lovely. Will come again.

First visit here, came to watch the rugby with friends. Great place to watch the sports. Loads of big screens around. Staff very friendly and helpful. Didn't have food but it did look good. Will be back

Went here for a friends birthday lunch and to watch the rugby. Family pub,dogs allowed also.Range on the menu at resonable price,good atmosphere,staff hard working,would definatly return.

It's a nice place and I really enjoyed my gammon and chunky chips. However, the three others in my party ordered a variety of burger and they weren't impressed. I have to admit, the patties didn't look great. They had a different colour around the edges to the middle. It looked like they'd been reheated a few times or spent time under a heat lamp. Another thing: The burgers came with fries whereas the gammon had lovely thick-cut chips. Because of that, my score is based solely on my experience

I have been here twice just recently and i got to say the food is excellent and great value for money.

Went there with family , had a lovely Afternoon , grand children loved it .

We come here about once a month so decided to book for Xmas day & we weren't disappointed, from the lovely details like a Christmas card with my name, the fantastic food and amazing service we cannot fault. We definitely Will be booking for Xmas again. Thank you so much.

Ordered breakfast, and it was lovely and hot. Egg was just how I like it, runny, and chips were lovely crispy & soft on the inside. Excellent all round.

Reasonable Sunday lunch with the family. Very nice ale at a very low price and excellent value Roast Beef dinner. Brilliant.

Nice pub which is near the park We had a little snack - curry sauce and chips - fantastic! We noticed they also have live bands on at the weekend so we will definitely be back.

I didn't eat here but others have said the food is good and very well priced. If you like sports then this pub is out of the way of the main Wellingborough road crowd of 18-30's so you can watch in peace and the staff are very nice indeed! Download the app and you'll get 10% off your drinks too so the prices fall into the reasonable category. Afterward, you could always go to the neighboring Abington park for a relaxing stroll.

Love that dogs are allowed, thr cocktails went down to easy and nice gluten free - simple but nice menu

Excellent service as always from Simon & his fantastic crew. Simon poured the Guinness, & in all fairness could have served it as it was, but the barrel went, & he changed it for a minimum amount of top up. That's how brilliant it is there!

We have always had great food and service at this pub but unfortunately on this occasion we were disappointed. We took friends for a treat on us. On ordering food we were informed that there was no Sunday roast left (it was only 4.45pm) so we all chose something else to be told those choices were also not available. In the end we asked the bar attendant to tell us what was available, it was very limited and not really what we wanted. I just hope this was an isolated case, but not impressed.

Took my parents for Christmas Dinner yesterday. It was really lovely, the staff couldn't do enough for us and the quality of the food was amazing. We will definitely be returning next year! Thank you Will and his team

Large group of us went to celebrate Xmas , a lot of money spent behind the bar however one member of staff who I think is the manager was extremely rude when waiting to get served to one of my friends for no reason at all. Not the first time we’ve experienced rudeness at this place. Won’t be spending any money there again.

Not a great experience in there last night. Stood for 5 mins waiting to be served at an empty bar while one of the bar staff chatted about her holiday to a punter, the kitchen shut an hour early, coffee machine was broke, hammered locals bouncing round the place…… won’t be returning. Very amateur.

Very impressive pub! Great value. Good food. Compliments to the chef. The food was cooked perfectly. Friendly bar lady. Green king. Lots of choice on the menu. Dog friendly!! Yay. No dog biscuits available though 😌 The Abington is a beautiful building. Inside & out. It’s a sports bar, but don’t let this put you off. .. if you’re not into sport. Parking is a bit of an issue. But plenty of side street parking to be had. It’s a town pub, with lots of character. Bus service is available to here. So it’s all good. #Buddyfriendlypubs Definitely a rovers return. Great pub it has changed over the years but it is now a great family pub and has lots of character. Food was average but fills a gap if your hungry. Beer is great cold and clean youbcan tell the lines are cleaned regularly.

When they tell you their customer service is on hold , do not believe them as they are toying with you.it is in full view.

Can’t remember much about being in there to be honest after a gig at the cricket ground on a Friday night but bar service was good, beer was reasonably priced and karaoke was good, I didn’t have to wait long at all to sing 😂

Took approx 45 mins, which wouldnt have been an issue if the food was good. The Food was a mess and when we politely pointed it out to the staff they got very defensive and rude. Sludgy batter and over cooked bullet peas. Welly Road has much better options, just walk a little further and save your self the disappointment

Went I'm with clients in wheelchairs never been the a pub that was so rude obviously got out of the wrong side of the bed. Every question we asked was answered by attitude

Very disappointing. Slow service, extremely rude staff (especially the cocky little guy with the rubbish tattoos that had WAY too much attitude and seemed more concerned with chatting to his mates than serving the 7 people queueing). Food was average, standard Greene King stuff. Perhaps some proper customer service training may be needed for the barman. Grunts and snide answers aren't really a good look

Nice pub. If you like watching an unimaginative guitarist, with a vocalist who is good but sounds like every other vocalist, playing text book middle of the road songs (Oasis, Toploader), who when they say this is the last song play 10 more, causing 1 and half tables to leave and one grown man to cry (Im only reprorting what I saw). You will love this place.

Came in for the Harry Potter quiz night, didn’t come first which I’m not surprised with to be fair…but the staff were lovely and the service was amazing, Chloe was very helpful and kind :)
