Airan was absolutely amazing, so thorough and efficient. Airan was polite and accommodating. The food was lovely, hot and fresh. Salad cart was fresh with soft buns. We were in and out within an hr and a half. Would definitely come back. Thank you Airan!

We had a great experience, food was nice. Our waitress Debbie was so lovely, she gave us time to eat our salad then came back to take our order so it was nice and relaxed. 3 women together have a lot to talk about.

Our server was really helpful. I understand the upstairs Ladies toilet was not hygienic.

Came here for Mother’s Day and was greeted by the lovely jamie who took us to our table, the food was great and the staff were also great all in all a good afternoon out for me and my mum and the rest of my family including my daughter who was working as well so just wanted to say thankyou to the staff for allowing her to join us for a little while

I had curry powder on my pasta tubes😔 from the salad bar....... awful. The sausages and eggs and black pudding were lovely. The steak was mediocre at best,and the ribs were overcooked. The curry powder overwhelmed my taste buds and put me off eating the rest of the Ultimate grill I had ordered....... What a waste of £27. Not recommended.

Had a quiet drink in the bar area. Thought it was gonna be busier coz of the Christmas season. Food was good, drinks were good too. 2024 The George has had a refurb and if looks great. Staff are friendly and helpful. Food was delicious 😋 Had a good evening. March 2025 Had another good evening at The George. Change of menu. No Dirty Bird but replaced with a chicken crunch which was nice. Chicken wings are always delicious 😋

Great visit, due to traffic was quite late for our booking, it wasn’t a problem managed to get a table on a busy Friday evening, great service from Airan.

Due to a power cut we were unable to enter but we were directed by a member of staff to alternative venues. Update In response to a request from the owner of this establishment. The star rating reflects the experience we had. Additional comments have been made to clarify the underlying causes of the venue being closed so does not reflect a bad response as to the actual venue per say. However, our experience was 2 stars due to it being closed. I will not be changing the star rating as we did not have a good experience irrespective of the cause. However, I have updated the Service star rating as this was acceptable and the member of staff was polite and gave alternative venues to seek out. This is the only alteration I will be making otherwise it would not reflect the true experience we had at that time. I will look to come back on another occasion and give a review on the next time we use your venue. 28.03.25 Returned in the hope that the venue would be open this time. Wonderful service, food was great (Chicken Rice Bowel & Salad Bowel). Very impressed with price and service. Highly recommend.

Really really nice ,I was pleasantly surprised. Try their new rice bowl selection. Fabulous.!! The staff were polite and helpful .The menu was very reasonably priced.

This place completely ruined what was supposed to be a special moment. My boyfriend had planned a birthday surprise for me, and the staff destroyed it with zero care or professionalism. A clueless girl came straight to our table and blatantly asked if it was the “birthday table” — right in front of me. So much for a surprise. That’s the kind of amateur service you get here. As if that wasn’t enough, the staff who came to sing “Happy Birthday” looked like they were being forced at gunpoint. No energy, no smiles, just awkward stares and a vibe so uncomfortable it was actually painful. It wasn’t a celebration — it was a cringe-fest. I’ve seen more enthusiasm at a funeral. If you’re thinking of celebrating anything here, don’t. This place has no idea how to handle special occasions, and they clearly don’t care about customer experience. We left feeling embarrassed and disappointed. Easily one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. Save your time, your money, and your night — go literally anywhere else.

After a refurb food is great and staff are good - thanks for everything

Honestly the best Harvester I’ve been to! As soon as we entered, the service was brilliant, got seated as soon as we got in and within minutes had a server greet us and take our order. Heather (our server) was absolutely brilliant! Incredibly friendly and accommodating. Thank you Heather! All food was amazing and came out within 10 minutes of ordering. The main point I’d like to make is how clean the restaurant was, the salad bar was all fresh and wiped down super regularly. Thank you!

Very busy so service a little slow

We had a smallish ( 17 people) post funeral celebration at the George Inn. The staff were amazing, very welcoming and accommodating to our needs. And the price made what is a very expensive day a lot more affordable. Thank you to all the staff, especially the two young ladies who served us, so attentively and with patience as some of our party are elderly and needed help with understanding the options.

Absolutely fantastic lunch, Hannah went above and beyond for us and we were a big group of 13! Greeted with a smile every time! Thank you.

Food is a hit and miss here. This time round my broccoli was hard felt like it was almost raw. My partners mixed grill looked like it was made up with scraps from other people's plates. The gammon was two small slithers the mushroom which was meant to be a flat mushroom was the side slice of a mushroom barely any stork. The chips became cold during the meal (were probably cooked too far ahead). The steak meant to be medium, was medium rare, medium and well done all in the same very small piece (quite a skill to do that to such a small piece of meat). The only good thing was the onion rings, lovely and fresh.

Don't have the jacket potato if you don't like salt. The camembert tart was nice the jacket was small and really salty skin not very nice.

I didn’t have an enjoyable experience. Our server was not very receptive and did not once come to check to see if our food was ok . Our family did not feel welcomed at all and I usually enjoy visiting Harvester . This was the first time I felt uncomfortable which is a real shame. I think training certain staff ( particularly the older ones) on how to treat all customers equally would help.

The two twin waitresses sara and Stella were very kind and their customer service was outstanding.

8pm reservation, half the menu wasn't avaliable. As we were eating our salad our starter came out within 5mins and 8mins after our main was out. Team were restocking and clearing the resturant around us and we felt as if we were being rushed out and didn't bother staying for pudding - shame and a downer on our first evening out as new parents.

Very busy for lunchtime, it seems only 2 staff on dishing out the meals.

Food was dry waiter/waitress putting wrong drinks orders on table salad bar with bread rolls not replenish often and was sick when got home

Went for lunch today. Food was great for all but burgers from there are one of the best. Great value for money, especially the re-fillable soft drinks. Highly recommend

Went out to dinner with the family, which was absolutely amazing. The water Maloj (I apologise if that's not the correct spelling), was serving our table, and was very attentive, ensuring despite the busy restaurant, we were still his priority. He took his time to explain a few of our questions, and recommended a few options for drinks. The food was excellent, and very well presented. Atmosphere was a little manic, but it is a Sunday and a couple days after Valentines so not surprising. We very much enjoy going to the restaurant, and this time didn't disappoint us either.

Lovely place to eat, staff are lovely. Tables are quite close together so can be very loud at times. I would recommend booking in advance. Quite steep stairs to the restaurant or a long double storey ramp.

Went a week ago - loved the salad bowls and the breads. As someone who works with breads, identifying the gluten free rolls was one of the most harrowing moments I have ever had in a restaurant as it made me question my life choices, still enjoyed xxx

Booked a table here and we were asked to wait by the bar area whilst it was made ready which is fine! The man who served us was fantastic. Really polite and great with the kids. It was our son's birthday also and although we didn't ask or inform any staff, the man serving our table noticed his badge, wished him a happy birthday and brought him his desert with a candle in and everyone sang for him. Nothing was too much and it made the evening even better. Sorry I can't remember your name but if you remember at all, we were sat by the podium at the front door table and had 3 kids and a baby. So thank you.

Ordered three different thing of the menu, did not have them this was on Sunday at 1clock, no vegetables apart from peas, had pasta but their was only 3 bits of pasta on the plate, nachos was filled with sauce with very little filling in them , overall very disappointing for the money you pay, will not be going back.manager reply was I will give feedback.

Great food and lovely management, particularly being so kind to me in our not so great New Year circumstances (house fire that kept us out of our home for three weeks!) Would highly recommend this place for good food and great hospitality! So welcoming to dogs as well which really helped in my situation. We enjoyed some really good deals as well on the app which really helped too. My teenage son and his friend loved the food and we will definitely be back… a lot!
