Harvester Boldmere Sutton Coldfield in Birmingham

I did go for the the lunch with my husband on 22.9.24 and was shocked when I saw the salad bar, the tomatoes were half green, the pepper was dry and lettuce looked like was thee for last 2 days because looked more yellow than green. The rump steak is not on the menu anymore. Paying for the ribs £17 is like robbery.

Very good food, everyone was nice our server gorge was lovely very kind aswell. Overall the place was amazing and I would come again

I wanted to share my recent dining experience with you. Unfortunately, I was quite disappointed with the rib eye steak I ordered. It was extremely tough, to the point where I struggled to even put my fork into it, let alone bite into it. This was the first time I've ever been unable to finish a steak in any restaurant. I felt that the steak was a waste of money, which made me feel that the overall pricing of the food did not reflect its quality. On a more positive note, the pork ribs and sauces were delicious, but the issue with the steak overshadowed my experience. When I mentioned the problem to the waitress after she asked if everything was okay, I was not offered a replacement or any other solution, which I found disappointing.

First of hats off to all of the staff everyone was super sweet and helping. George was our server, and he was absolutely lovely and very friendly. I couldn't have wished for a better server. The food was fabulous, and my spinach and cheese pasta was gorgeous me and my friends and I had a lovely meal after completing the 3.5km walk for Alzheimer's Society charity so very much neeeded! 😊

Our server George was fantastic and made sure everything was perfect for us, the food was delicious and reasonably priced! We would definitely come back again.

Impressive service. I came, walked around the halls, tried to find a table to sit down. I was told not to go, but to stand at the entrance and wait. I finally left because I was just being ignored. A worker in a white shirt pushed me in an empty hallway and didn't even try to apologize. Thank you🙌 The facility was filled to 15-20%.

Great service by Toby, despite it being very busy and the 40% offer on, he did his very best to provide a good customer experience for us. Will definitely continue to visit Boldmere Harvester.

Out last night with friends for an evening meal. Been to many Harvester establishments in the past with no complaints about service or food. Last night was so disappointing as 3 out of the 4 meals were cold and returned. Not only was the meal wasted but a 35 minute trip there and back ruined our evening. We were only charged for 1 meal but that one had the chips returned as they were cold. Not very impressed with the standard of service. Regards Jon.

Zane served us very nicely the food was delicious and was cooked by Stuart. I'm stuffed now. 2 teenagers with me enjoyed it as well. Win win.

Not bad food took forever to come

Excellent food and service,this Harvester in Boldmere has been long standing and a regular dine for most of us locals. Staff are attentive and understanding. Have been to various Harvesters over the years and Boldmere is one of the best.

I came with my cousin and the service was fast and amazing. I didn't get our waitresses name but I feel that ALL of the staff working at Harvester Boldmere deserve a pay rise

Went there for lunch for two today. Food was lovely, best beef burger I've had in ages. Loads of choice at the salad bar, waffle desert was amazing. Libby the server was really helpful and friendly. All the tables were spotless or cleaned very quickly after people left. Back soon!

Went to harvester on Tuesday evening 28/8/24. The staff were friendly and very helpful at our table. The food we ordered was delicious. Classic Chicken, rotisserie chicken & Simple chicken. All meals for £8 each. Finished off with sundaes & mini sundaes and coffee. Our waitress Michelle was amazing and so helpful when ordering our food and drinks. We had a fabulous evening at Harvester Boldmere.

Nice quiet Harvester, food was really good and the service was very friendly. Reasonably priced as all harvesters are, it is worth downloading the app as a new sign up we managed to get 25% off which was an added bonus.

Serving people were smiley and hard working. Quality of food was 7/10. That's the best feature. Rotisserie food was perfect but anything involving batter was overdone to the point of being burned. Fortunately, the meat/fish within the batter wasn't burned. Our main problem with advising someone else to come here is that we ordered starter, main course and drinks at the same time, and the drinks came just ahead of our starter and the mains just behind the starter. We didn't have time to enjoy our starter - we'd just had time to get our unlimited side salad and then the starter arrived. There was too much food on the table at one time (and we had "small" dishes), which was offputting, and we didn't enjoy a leisurely meal. Even the serving person who brought our main courses, who we spoke to when she asked if we'd enjoyed our meal, said she thought the mains had come out too quickly. She advised we could have asked for the mains to be held back until we'd had our starter, but the starters were deep fried fish and chicken and the batter was already nearly burned and only just edible. Actually, we took the batter off the food as the batter wasn't really edible. If we'd asked for our food to be held under warmers in the kitchen, the food would probably have been returned in an even less edible state. We may have been unlucky with the speed the food came out of the kitchen - but we observed people got served quickly, generally. This is normally a good thing when you order a meal, but the experience does have to be controlled, somewhat, otherwise we could have gone to a fast food restaurant. This was an ocassion for my birthday and this wasn't a great experience. We'd all advise people we know to avoid Harvester for that reason.

A very pleasant breakfast experience. The only issue was when we changed tables due to the size of the breakfast trays and found the one we preferred hadn't been cleaned.

Great staff, very helpful today when they seemed pretty busy appreciate the hard work guys!

Service was good initially and then it was as if the team had forgotten about us. This meant that we were in the restaurant for 2 hours and only had a main course during this time. We would have liked to order dessert but we were fed up and our young grandchildren were getting very restless and difficult due to the long wait. The restaurant was not very busy at this time.

Lovely meal today. Chicken,cooked to perfection! Mixed Grill, fantastic too. Children's meals,fish fingers great. The usual salad bar,works well. Drinks all served as needed.

Came in for the lunch set menu. Amazing service by Kayla, really lovely food, quick service, and a nice chilled atmosphere. Highly recommend!

We had a lovely birthday meal here today The waiter was friendly and polite The salad before the main meal was all full and fresh. Rolls were warm and fresh Food was served very quick and it was piping hot and very good servings. Very well presented meals We had a bit of an issue when paying as we wasn't told we couldn't use the birthday voucher along with the 2 course meal. So we were charged more than expected When we questioned it the waiter went to speak to his manager Manager came to us very friendly and polite and apologetic. He sorted our bill out and pleased to say we were more than happy 😊 . Very helpful and friendly manager who obviously cared about his customers. Couldn't fault the food or staff Our birthday meal was very enjoyable. Highly recommend this place.

The food was excellent. On 2 separate occasions, we have been lucky to have George our waiter, he's was such a pleasant young man and very attentive.

Michelle served us & I've got a dairy allergy, she was so helpful, I was so grateful to her for helping me with dairy free foods, even the salad bar. Great experience & Michelle got us a doggy bag to take home the food I couldn't manage to eat. Highly recommended.

We celebrated my sister's birthday at Harvester Boldmere, and it was a fantastic experience! We had a private room, which made the occasion feel extra special. Our servers, Toby and Suzanne, were outstanding—friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect throughout the evening. The food was delicious, and the service was top-notch. We couldn’t have asked for a better celebration. Highly recommend Harvester Boldmere for any special occasion!

Been going to the harvester boldmere for years now. Admittedly over the last few years it declined and I stopped going as much. Decided to go for my birthday today and am happy to say the improvement was very noticeable! Very friendly staff, immaculate food and even kind enough to offer me a free desert for my birthday!

Had a lovely full English breakfast this morning. Booking through the app was easy. Our server Jake was great! Really attentive and polite. Been to this Harvester many times over the years. The recent revamp inside has made it even better!

At our visit, we got served very quickly despite paying for the unlimited salad we felt we did not have enough time to enjoy it as the mains came very quickly. The desserts took way too long and nobody cleaned our table before eating the desserts and coffees. The main dishes food quality was very good however the salad bar some items were not fresh and the bread was hard, cold and tasteless. Desserts were very good just the wait as it took us over 20-25 minutes waited to be served.

Went for a steak on a Monday evening, fair number of people in. Served very promptly by Linsey who was very friendly. Steak was OK not tough or really tender but quite enjoyable. Several sides included and of course the free salad bar.

We've always enjoyed visiting Harvester as a family and had another very pleasant experience this morning when we went for breakfast. We had some allergy requirements and the team were nothing but supportive. We had a couple of waitresses help (one of them I think was Rachel, who was a team leader) and didn't feel like we were causing any more hassle than normal. The food was on-point, as usual and we had no other issues at all.

Visited on Saturday and was welcomed by Jake who accommodated us well and dealt with a missing food item. Overall, service was great throughout the evening from Joe aswell and will be returning soon.

Was served by a lovely young lad called George who answered all 1000 questions we asked and if he didn't know he asked his manager instead of palming us off. Food was as expected but very impressed with the service. The manager was also a delight in sorting out an issue with our bill! Thanks guys.

Great location, friendly staff and great food. I adore the unlimited salad bar, tbh, it's the only reason I go. You can't have a salad like you do here at home easily, as it would require too much effort. I can't wait to go again. George and the young man who used to work at The Bishop Vesey are lovely,young men. It's always a pleasure being served by them.

We were told we could order online using the QR code however our order was misplaced when sent through, meaning we had to go and chase them at the bar for at least our drinks. Luckily the kitchen had our order and it didn't take any additional time for that. I mistakenly ordered an unlimited salad even though our combos came with a salad of our choosing. My mistake but the staff happily refunded this. The food was delicious. I was absolutely shocked. Why I'd not been to harvester in over a decade was crazy. The ribs and chicken combo was the best "pub grub" I've ever eaten. I can't wait to go back!

I ordered the Ultimate Breakfast. While I was waiting, I decided to look at a review online. I was immediately disheartened by the first result, describing it as "putrid pigswill". Despite this revelation, I decided to give it a chance. Here's what I found for myself: The cup of tea: PG Tips isn't my favourite tea, but this tasted like it was made with several times boiled water. Bacon: Tolerable at best. Seemingly "chargrilled" yet soft. Sausages: Cheap, vile abominations. Suspiciously even in colour, probably deep fried. Tomatoes: tasteless, strangely watery and weirdly seasoned. Beans: Supposed to be Heinz, but tasted like melted plastic. Served in a metal pot. Maybe the pot gave them the weird taste. Fried eggs: horribly oily and underdone. Mushrooms: hard and rubbery Hash browns: probably the best thing on the plate, but the rest didn't take a lot of beating.

Food was dreadful. Staff service was good and helpful. The place was a little dull, it needs updating. There was a stand/ shelf thing with plants on making it a ridiculous challenge to get to seats. Will not be going again.

Food was lovely great selection for adults and the kids menu was also a varied and plentiful selection . Service was ok we had to find them a couple of times for different things, also were charged for drinks we didn't have, we don't usually check our receipts but this time we did and found the overcharge, but they did sort it out in a pleasant manner . Will definitely go back

Visited the harvester Saturday evening, we were greeted my a polite welcoming young man who’s name I believe is Cameron, as we were seated at the table Cameron explained the salad and the menu to us, he took our drink and food order promptly afterwards our food arrived presented beautiful my steak was cooked to perfection. All our food was amazing and perfect temperature! Thank you for a lasting amazing experience

It was okay. But the Vegan Mediterranean vegetable tart is not very nice at all. Seems like a simple thing just to please vegans, which is not good. Presentation, imagine a round crinkled cardboard bowl, then filled with mixed veg. Look at other options if possible

We came in for some food was stood at the host stand for 10 to 15 mins before anyone even came over to come and seat us. There were many staff members talking or walking around without doing jobs such as cleaning the tables or even aknowleging the customers waiting ie us with even a smile or I’ll be with you in a second. We were then finally seen by a lady who had been pissing a bout a bit in the pub who could of potentially been the manager. She then told us there was a table free but she’d have to clean it so wait in the bar for at max ten mins. Apparently time moves slowly in harvester as ten minuets our time is 40 mins their time. So we were sat quite hungry and hungover at a table by the bar where we didn’t even get a knowledged once even when servers and bar staff passed us. Who were all aware we were waiting on a table. So in the end after experiencing harvester time which moves slowly we decided to leave where we passed some other customers at the host stand who were experiencing the same fate as us. As we passed the tables loads were free it was dead. I would’ve cleaned the table my self as one my friend works for the same company and two I also work in hospitality. I never ever complain but as I was hangry and hungover I just wanted some bloody food. Have a nice day :)

The staff were very friendly and helpful, although my friend and I were sat at a small table due to my disabilities I would have struggled with the seats so we were moved to a booth. I was also given a kids menu as I cannot eat a full sized meal and everything on the adult meal was too much of a struggle for me. I was very happy with the small fish fingers & mash! Believe it or not that filled me 😂. But was very nice thank 😊 I have been a diner here for some time and never been disappointed. Would recommend to anyone.

The staff were lovely but the salad bar was probably the best element of my meal there. In our party we had lukewarm meats, chicken that looked under in the centre, cold apple pie, melted ice cream, and the best one was no eggs for the gammon when you have a Tesco and a Sainsburys across the road . Definitely not in a hurry to come back.. my chicken was tough and the jacket potatoes was like leather on the base

First time we as a family of 4 tried this harvester and have to say pleasantly surprised on how the layout was setup and how well the food was prepared! A very open plan pub with plenty of room with the normal main attraction of the salad bar in the middle. I can imagine parking could be a bit tight as there is a hotel at the back which uses the same spaces! The 4 star rating is because they never had the rocky horror dessert 😱 the 2nd reason you goto Harvester after the salad bar ! We settled for very lovely alternatives as per the photo Final mention on the staff who were good but special to mention George who is brilliant very attentive and so on the ball a great ambassador to Harvester

The burgers are very poor quality. Almost certainly from frozen, likely imported from a wagon outside a football stadium of your choice. Chips were dry. Overpriced below average food. No amount of free salad would make this value for money.
