No living in the area we though we would go out for a meal at a nearby location we found what we thought was a decent location for a meal, but unfortunately, we inadvertently became entangled in a conversation filled with right-wing rhetoric. This unfortunate experience marred what should have been a special day, and when we shared our concern with the staff, they disappointingly disregarded our complaint entirely. It is disheartening that as paying customers, we were not provided with a more welcoming atmosphere, and it is clear that the shocking content of the conversation should not have reached our ears. We strongly suggest avoiding this particular location. If you value treating everyone equally, I would advise against visiting this location. Our meal, consisting of Gammon served with chips, a fried egg, peas, and coleslaw, was unfortunately overshadowed by the unpleasant experience of overhearing right-wing rhetoric. The staff, rather disappointingly, displayed a lack of concern regarding the situation. While I am unsure what this particular group called themselves, they identified as the "Voice of Wales." It is disheartening that such individuals failed to uphold a welcoming and inclusive environment. My partner was scared that they would hear her voice so she kept quite through out. We left never to return.

Amazing dirty dog and cajun fries! So tasty. Welcoming staff' friendly atmosphere. Will definitely be back!

Decided to call in for a quick pint and something to eat after hearing there was new management. We felt a warm welcome as soon as we walked through the doors. A wide selection of beers available, I decided to go for a pint of Staropramen which didn't disappoint. A fantastic selection of Gins and spirits too. Food: I decided to go for the Liver and onions, and I'm glad I did, the portion size was great and it tasted beautiful. The wife opted for a burger and she also commented how nice it was and one of the best burgers she's ever had. We thoroughly enjoyed our short time at the Harry Watkins and will definitely be calling again very soon. Good work

Pretty good meal out with friends. 4 of us had a few drinks & a meal. All of us happy with quality of meals & didn’t have to wait too long for them. Girl behind bar was very good aswell. Would return.

We went to Harry watkins today for Sunday lunch and to be honest to everybody the food was terrible it went fit for rats to eat all the food was cold and dry my advice is don't bother

Me snd my family odered food from this restaurant for delivery we placed the odered at 7.25 and it did not arrive until 9-40 disgusting service disgusting food I phoned a number of times to complain but I was dismissed

Went here with my friends for food and a few drinks, staff were really friendly explaining the situation on what we had to do following government rules. We felt very safe here due to covid 19. Pub is kept clean, food was really nice 👌will definitely come here again x

Ordered from Harry Watkins for the first time and we weren’t disappointed. It was a really mixed order - a Carvery, a curry and a chicken burger plus a garlic bread - but everything was delicious, freshly cooked and delivered piping hot We only live a few miles away but it has taken lockdown for us to find you!! Lovely vegetables with the carvery and the best chips she has ever eaten according to my daughter. The kids are already planning what to order next time. Couldn’t fault it.

Had brilliant carveries and desserts delivered to me and my family on sunday, can’t fault them and would definitely recommend.

Wasn't even the fact it was cold as that I can deal with but seems we had the last of everything!!! Scraps of veg and hardly any meat. Complete waste of money.

We had two meals and a starter delivered to us on Saturday evening. All 3 dishes were inedible, the curry did not taste like a curry, the salmon was over cooked, buttermilk chicken was tasteless. All went to waste. I also found the food to be overpriced. I informed the establishment of this the next day via their Facebook page and asked for a refund, the response I had was that they will not be issuing a refund. Before I had a chance to explain further, I was blocked from their page. How disrespectful, unprofessional and rude. Awful experience. Awful food and disgusting customer service.

We as a family had a carvery delivered to us today by The Harry Watkins pub/restaurant. This was quite possibly the worst carvery we have ever eaten. Or not eaten as the case is with this. Horrible mash. Hard under cooked roast potatoes and wafer thin beef. And the cheesecake... shocking , Iceland special. Never again

Great meal and service. It was so good to be able to order a Sunday lunch from the Harry Watkin pub during the recent Covid 9 crisis. The meals arrived on time and hot and were really good value. It’s nice to be able to support local businesses who cannot open normally but who are trying their best to keep going for the community. We would recommend this service and hope to support them again each week in the future.

Our first visit was last Sunday evening attending a birthday party with friends. The welcome was warm and friendly, the service exceptional and the food absolutely delicious with not one complaint around the table, despite the variety of orders from the menu. We will definitely come back and maybe next time try the carvery.

Amazing service at the Harry Watkins! We had an after christening party for 40 people. They were accommodating, had amazing food! Well mannered staff and even offered to keep the christening cake over night to keep it cool and safe before the christening. The staff were very helpful and prices are reasonable. I would definitely go there again

Visited here for carvery recently and also a bar meal a few weeks previous. Carvery is very nice, and all plates cleared, yum. However my problem is with the dirty toilets, ladies and disabled used as ladies was out of order on one visit. Very grubby, dusty and back of toilets dirty. Menus on tables also not the cleanest with stains etc as they are not wipeable.

Before the current owners took over I’d refuse to go here for family meal- hated the food and the atmosphere. We’ve been here many times since the new owners took over and we’ve not once had a bad meal. I love a Sunday carvery and in my opinion this is the best in the area. We went for a carvery before Christmas and everything was perfect, the beef and roast parsnips were a favourite. For the price of the carvery you can’t go wrong. Superb

Went for a meal here on the off chance due to seeing the slimming menu on the Facebook page. Ordered starters, nachos with pulled pork. Mmmmmmm this was not pulled pork. It was BBQ jackfruit . Various main meals ordered from diet cola chicken, it was ok, just ok. Hunters chicken and fish. Again acceptable but nothing special. Why can't people put more chips on a plate, it doesn't cost that much. 15 chips ISH on each plate. Even though we were in the restaurant area there was a lot of noise and foul language coming from the bar. Would we go here again. Probably not.

This has become our lunch location of choice. My wife and I are both NHS with the weird shifts that come with that, and we come here for excellent food, a peaceful atmosphere, good prices, and very pleasant staff. The carvery is very good, and the menu dishes never disappoint. We also come on a Friday evening with my vegan daughter from and the mother/in-law - something for everyone.

Home cooked, great food at a very good price, the chips are the best. Huge menu if you are vegetarian and the Sunday carvery is the best in town.

I have been to Harry Watkins a number of times for Sunday lunch. Went today for Mother's Day and again did not disappoint. The prices are extremely reasonable and the dinner, especially the Gravy, is the best I have come across to date. Highly recommended and will without doubt return.

Having been here before for a Christmas meal I thought it would be good to go again. WOW, the food was amazing, served with smiles looking lovely on pretty plats and tasted FAB. The prices were very good and they do lots of deals in the week like steak for a fiver, burger and a pint for £6.95 and others too. We'll definitely be back to this very comfortable and friendly pub.

My meal was Ok, but they do serve a good coffee. It is an average chain pub serving fast food. It is handy though if you want a drink before visiting the theatre opposite.

Have just returned from lunch at the Harry watkins with my other half... we both had steaks cooked to perfection by Adrian along with sides of onion rings and peppercorn sauce...

I've been calling to the Harry Watkins more and more so since Jen & Adrian took it over. I can't seem to drag myself away. They are both FANTASTIC landlords of this fine establishment, i've been here for many functions and get togethers. I can't thank Jen & Adrian enough for their hospitality. They are ALWAYS on point to make sure you have a comfortable and enjoyable experience. They will always come and have a chat with you when they are there and have the time. Can't fault either of them, always have time for their customers. I always and will continue to recommend the Harry Watkins to friends, colleagues and guests at my workplace.

Large family party for my 60th birthday we had preorder food and again not let down plenty and hot food the vegetables where cooked to perfection and a fair selection and then on to the pudding I went for Christmas pudding very nice a great atmosphere in there everytime I have been here never disappointed well done to the staff on a very busy night keeping everyone happy

Hi ive recently been staying in llanelli on a work visited and wanted to eat out rather than stay in the hotel. This pub was just around then corner and looked lovely so thought i would give it a go. On walking into the pub was greeted by a lovely lady behind the bar who in turn served me. The pub was very busy with and had a lovely atmosphere. I went and sat down and began to look at the menu and waw there was something for everyone. I ordered a starter of garlic mushrooms and they were amazing. My main meal was a steak and what an amazing cooked steak that was. While eating my food the staff came over and ensured that all was ok. I then had a visit from the chef who in turn i found oit was the landlord. That was lovely to see and made you feel even more welcoming to the venue. After my food i stayed for a few drinks and began to chat to what seemed to be regular customers and they were lovely. I would just like to say thank you to you all for making me feel welcome and on my next visit you will see me again. If you are on a work visit or in the area then call in you wont be disappointed.Thank you once again for a lovely evening.

I call here regularly, recently I came up with a group of friends to have food and drinks, all my friends were made to feel welcome and the owners even came over to talk with us. Food was beautiful as usual and the choice of gluten-free and veggie options were wonderful, nice to see menus on each table for those options as well. Overall we had a brilliant night and would encourage others to pop in if you want a fun night!

The most uncomfortable we have felt in any establishment ever. We walked in and it was obvious the venue had changed to more of a drinking pub, and seemed to be a sporting hub.

Have visited this place a mumber of times over the past few weeks. The food is amazing and the staff cant do enough for you. This week I had steak and ive never eaten such a nice steak. Even better than miller and carter. What a great family friendly pub that welcome you with open arms. You will see more of us and pur friends.

We had a lovely main meal tasty and well presented. However disappointed to be told at 8.30 that we were too late to order dessert as the Chef had gone home !! ,

The staff are very friendly, the pub is clean and well kept with plenty of space, the food is hot, tasty with good portions and best of all its the best value meals I have purchased for many years. I will be returning to enjoy this eatery many times

Very welcoming pub . I visited on a saturday evening. Very friendly bar staff aswell as the landlord and landlady were friendly and mixing with visitors. Not been in pub for few years but definitely be visiting more regular.

In Llanelli for the half marathon, ate here the night before the run and all four of us agreed that the meals were lovely. The whole pub was very clean and it is definitely a place we would eat at again.

There were twelve of us that went to the Lovely Harry Watkins for our Christmas Do. What a great time we had no rush or hurry. We were asked to pick what we wanted beforehand which was nice as it took the pressure off everyone.

Had a great time and such a welcoming had by all from staff. Would definitely recommend paying a visit whether it be for drinks or for food. Overall great experience.

We arrived at the Harry Watkin for a family meal to be greeted by a polite young girl who pointed out where we would be sitting. We waited to be served so we went to the bar to place our order as no was coming. We ordered 2 mixed grills, 1gammon, 1 steak and 2 kids meals which arrived in decent time. When they were served I couldn't believe the small portions that you were given. The steak, g ammon and chicken were pathetic in size as that actual meal was £13:50 to make matters worse the steak was like leather. The g ammon in the g ammon meal was also very small, with tasteless chips as did the rest of the meals. The kids meals were very cold and they could not eat the beans which for them is very odd as they love beans. The food came to £53 which I must say is the worst £53 I have ever spent. After we finished our meals nobody cleared our plates and we just got up and went out, my advice to anyone who was going to visit is stay in your car and go elsewhere.

I hate having to write poor reviews especially when it's my home town...but that what this site is all about I suppose. A pre wedding meal in a recently refurbished local pub, mmm what a shambles. Orders were placed two days prior and when food was eventually served there was an hour between the first and last person eating.. food was all average and some had been kept warm.. all in all a poor attempt at running a pub in my eyes. Basics all wrong and not even an attempt at being the slightest bit embarrassed from the landlords.. disappointed to say the least. Lucky the company was good.

A works party 39 in total which we pre-booked our meals. All meals came out In very good time everyone enjoyed there food so much we've booked our xmas party at the harry watkins and a few of the lads who live local have booked xmas day. Great drinks offers on and very reasonable priced. Will definitely be calling again.

Si quieres estar bien alimentados, entonces este lugar es imprescindible. La comida siempre es tan buena como la última vez, si no mejor, el personal es fantástico, nada es demasiado problema. No puedo recomendar este lugar.

As usual excellent night out ,for all 8 of us. Sat down at 7.00 starters served at 7 10. Whitebait was EXCELLENT , steaks, lamb,burgers all served at 7 30 hot and tasty and well presented. Food was excellent, service just as good and price was well worth it.Really well looked after.Looking forward to Sunday Lunch next week.

After been told how busy the Harry Watkins was I thought we would give it try for the carvery as if somewhere is busy it's normally a good indication of what to expect. So after a very average meal I felt let down by what appeared to be frozen veg which was over cooked, I had some beef and pork which was nice but the the whole dinner was ruined by the turkey gravy offered.I can only give it an average three stars as I have had far better elsewhere on many occasions at several places.If you a regular to the Harry Watkins I suggest to widen your horizons.

I must applaud this place for it's lovely food however upon my visit with my sister (we were frequent visitors) we requested beef as our meat of choice for dinner and the owner cut the tiniest pieces (not slices) of fatty meat off and put it on her plate. I was disgusted and asked my sister if she was happy with that but she was too polite to say anything. I verbally stated aloud that what she received was disgusting but the owner blanked me and gave me the same amount of meat. I understand meat is costly but when there are literally four people dining at your restaurant you'd think you'd be a little more willing?There were no smiles, no hellos, no goodbyes - nothing from the owner. I will say though that the young lad working there was very kind.If you go there for the food then you'll really enjoy but don't expect anything from the owners/employees. Rude, rude, rude.

What a beautiful lunch. Good selection of starters, Carvary with a Vegetarian option . Lovely variety of vege with roast potatoes ,parsnips and Yorkshire Puds, home made Pigs in Blankets. Fabulous desserts . Excellent value for money.Wonderful staff, they ensured we had a really enjoyable time. Every one of us, we were 11 , would like to say "Thank you All at Harry Watkins. I bring my dad and family when visiting here for a Sunday Carvery nearly every week. Lovely atmosphere and super friendly staff.My dad is quite elderly and walks with a stick. So struggles carrying his plate back to the table. There is always a staff member at hand to help and offer to take it for him.And as for the food. Always a choice of 4 or 5 meats and large selection of veg. My favourite tho is lovely tasty thick gravy. If you have not been, I'd defiantly recommend that you pay a visit. You won't be disappointed! It can be very busy though so I recommend ringing up and booking.

Make sure you phone to book! Cheap, good selection of food all of which fresh and hot (especially if you go at 12) good sized portions and really friendly staff! Will be coming again. It was so busy but everyone was really efficient!

Enjoyed a simple no fuss yet delicious carvery. Great choice of roast meats along with tasty sausages and/or faggots, stuffing balls ,yorkies ,crispy roasties and veg. Have got to mention the most tastiest gravy ever, absolutely gorgeous! Great price for £5.95. Staff friendly and efficient.

My wife and I had been wanting to try a Harry Watkins carvery for several years, and a couple of weeks back we finally did.It was worth the wait, as there was plenty of food on offer, the meat was lovely and the gravy tasted home made. I went for the beef, but turkey, pork and sausages were also available. It was melt in the mouth good, and I could have sliced it with my fork. The boiled potatoes didn't look brilliant, but they tasted fantastic. The mushy pas and carrots were also excellent. A sis often the case, I thought the roast potatoes were the best part of the meal,. Nice, crispy outsides and light fluffy insides - just the way I like them!We only paid 6 for an excellent lunch, but I think it's more expensive on a Sunday. We are planning another visit soon, as we left the pub very full and very happy.

Went out for Sunday lunch with friends and family on Sunday 18th Sept. Booked table for 2.00pm seated as soon as we arrived at 1.50pm drinks sorted, went up for the carvery and faultless as ever. Plenty if hot food , fresh and full of flavour. I believe it was a "Jason" who ensured my Roast potatoes were perfect and "Shannon" looked after our table, with impeccable care and attention.Crumble and custard, ice cream and roulade were the choices for desert. Fed and watered and left with a full belly ! Can't wait 'till for time

My friend and i visit harry Watkins regular. Never had a bad carvery. Meet is always cooked to perfection as is everything else. My favourite place for a carvery

I eat a healthy diet, so vegetables are a part of my every day diet. So I don't see the point of spending £8 upwards for a carvery. But £5.95 is a fantastic price and the food was 10/10! The meat was cooked to perfection and the veg was cooked beautifully. I recommend to anyone. Fantastic price for fantastic food.

We went for Sunday lunch today but we were rather disappointed with the carvery. We had been a few times before and has been busy , today was a little quiet and we think it's because it's the tasteless bland dinner we had. The veg all tasted the same usually it has been tasty but it all seemed to be over boiled. The meat you cannot fault but we don't think we be returning for a while. Come on chef make it back like it used to be !

My husband and I decided to go to the Harry Watkins for a meal tonight and both decided to go for the carvery. I got mine first and he got his after me but when he got his gravy there was a very long black hair in it !!! I was mortified !! I told him he couldn't eat it and pointed it out to the waitress who promptly apologised so he was given another carvery meal and the gravy was changed after requesting. We also had an apology from the manager. So there was I expecting at the very least a free pint or pudding for him... Nothing happened !! So when I asked the waitress if this would be the case she went to check (presumably with the manager ) I was told that as he had had another meal and the gravy had been changed there would be no 'pint' apology !! So there we are!! I'm speeches at their lack of customer service ..., The swede,carrots and roasties we all frozen veg and tasteless but my wine was fine ....

This is a top place to have a roast dinner, it's one of the best, it's like a home made meal, there is also plenty to chose from other than dinner, but I must admit the dinner is their best side,

This was just an out of chance visit! But so lovely we now return weekly, very good value for money, beautiful fresh local food and the staff were so good :)

We arrived at 12pm my daughter and i ordered drinks and went straight to the carvery the first in line,Beef,turkey,Gammon,i chose all, we helped ourselves to veg and gravy with the option to pile on more if you like at no extra cost,stuffing and cranberry jelly and horseradish,mint sauce in plentiful supply,all for just under £7.00,there was a good selection of puds but we were too full after the second helping of veg,when we visited Vicars and cardinals and parishioners were wall to wall hope they didnt mind me pigging out on my delicious carvery meal,i dont believe in small meals so if your a hearty eater like me and my clan it's definately worth a visit.

Good quality Carvery always on offer. On our visit I had a perfectly cooked rib eye steak and my wife had a chicken chilli special. Good selection of real ales to wash it down with.

Harry watkins is a fantastic pub with a very friendly atomosphere with serves cracking food! And last night had the best steak of my life hats off to the chef amazing!

Recently met up with a group of friends for some food and drinks here and it did not disappoint. The staff were excellent, Bex behind the bar couldn't do any more for us and the atmosphere there was really nice and allowed us to enjoy ourselves. I was informed that it has been recently redecorated and I would advise anyone to go there to take a look for themselves on how good it looks. Keep up the good work!

Had a table booked for Sunday lunch today, the carvery was excellent , so tasty.The staff were so friendly and helpful, lovely quiet atmosphere.will certainly recommend it.

Went last minute for Sunday lunch and it was, as always, spot on.Ten of us at three o'clock on a Sunday and there wasn't a scrap of food lef on any of our plates, and that was with two fussy children.Then to cap it all, out in the beer garden, sun on our backs and a couple of good beers to boot.It's no wonder you have to book to get in here, it is THE most consistently good place I have ever eaten.The service is good, the food is good and therefore it is great value for money.Keep it up Harry Watkins.

Turned up on a Saturday lunchtime expecting the carvery but were told it wasn't served on a Saturday so only the regular menu was available. That wasn't a problem.Really impressed with the regular menu, was good pub grub.I had the gammon & chips. Others had the chilli chicken and corned beef pie. Everyone was impressed with their meal. Lovely real chips as well. Was excellent value.Two real ales being served. Staff were very friendly & helpful.Will definitely be back.

We called t the Harry Watkins for a late lunch after a family day out. The carvery was absolutely beautiful, and those in our group that had meals off of the main menu commented that their meals were delicious. Speedy, friendly service. highly recommend. will definitely be returning.

Booking is advisable, when you arrive order drinks from the bar then we found a table, so we go up to the carvery, a great choice of meats cut to perfection, a good choice of vegetables and roasted potatoes and boiled, we would recommend this restaurant and will be going back very soon.

Visited on a wednesday evening.Very good choice of food on the menu.Two of us had carvery and two had mixed grills.The carvery was one of the nicest i have tasted and the mixed grill looked nice too with proper home made chips.We all cleared our plates and two of us had dessert which was equally delicious.Staff very friendly and chatty and actually look quite happy in their work.Would definately go back again.

We quite often visit here on a Sunday lunch time. It's the only place we have found that the children will both finish there dinners. Lovely meat and you get plenty. And a big variety of fresh veg. The kids often have a ice cream too. Very reasonable priced. We come from 25 miles away just for the dinner.

We visit here every Sunday for a Carvery. Staff are friendly and helpful. Food is always lovely and fresh . Choice of four meats, usually six plus choice if Vege, beautiful homemade gravy. Good choice if desserts and reasonably priced. We used to try different places for Sunday lunch, but now we know we will have a good lunch here, we are happy to return week after week.

Always end up coming back here. Awesome friendly staff. Quick service. Bar meals are stunning with loads to choose from. Carvery is amazing. Will even make you home made veggie sausages (which are gorgeous) and veggie gravy if you ask. Great value for money. One of my favourites.

Booked a table at 4,00pm at Harry Watkins, seated at 3.50pm, had drinks and a quick chat, looked around and it was busy !, Here we go I thought it will be 6 oclock now in no time !!! - Oops I was wrong , the waitress called over and said "Would you like to go up for Carvery " It was at 4.00pm , I was wrong thank goodness I thought. As we approached the rather dashing Chef (so my wife said lol ) I was astonished by the variety of fresh veg, the sumptuous looking meats and overall appearance of what can only be described as food heaven. Gorgeous succulent Turkey and Tender Beef for me and the best'est outstanding stuffing ever, followed by crisp roasties and 3 yorkshires , (as no one was looking), accompanied by fresh veg. Kids had the same and my wife had chicken . Kids enjoyed, so much we were stuffed, until they saw ice cream on way out so had a tub !!With out a doubt the best Sunday Carvery I have ever had !! Warm Welcome, polite staff, excellent HOT food and fresh. What more can you ask for ?

Heard a lot of mixed reviews over the venue but decided to give it a go, not expecting much, But without doubt the best Carvery i've had in Llanelli for a long time and definitely one id return too. Large selection of fresh veg and a good choice of meats at a very reasonable price, the bar, Just as good, great selection of alcohol at a great price, Just a shame i didnt have time for a dessert!

Visited here for my mams 70th birthday meal. When booking the conservatory we wr advised that we could have the area to ourselves as that's what we wanted on time of booking. But when we went they said other people would be in that area aswel. There was 25 of us and was told there wasn't enuff people to fill it. But was not informed of this at time of booking. Wasn't happy as we would have not booked it there. Wen the meals started to come out. There was one waitress bringing one plate at a time out. We had to ask if there was anyone serving us our food as the service was very slow. It may be different on a carvery as all the meals would have bn done at the same time. But as for individual meals the service was terrible. I would never visit this place again.

Lovely, welcoming staff and plenty of good affordable food. A wide choice of menu with great puddings for dessert. Will definitely return.

Really tasty and hot carvery food. Good choice of meat with a fine selection of veg. Friendly and helpful staff. Good bar with a good choice of real ales.

Had Sunday lunch last week, we have dined here often the quality of the food is always very good, you have to stop him putting meat on your plate or you won't have room for veg. The Best.
