Harry Ramsden's in Amber Valley

After always wanting to try Harry Ramsdens I was appauled at the meal I was served the fish was OK nothing special but the chips were rock hard and dry, I took them back and the assistant offered me fresh was which was worse than the first, the whole lot ended up in the bin as they were unedable and certainly were the worst chips I have ever eaten in 60 years, I will never step foot in a Harry Ramsdens and would no recommend anyone else to either

Staff always very polite and service is also prompt even on busy periods. The fish was cooked to perfection. Will definitely be back in the future.

Had a lovely fish and chips at harry ramsdens today top marks for the fish lightly battered to my liking when asked for it just dipped. My husband and I really enjoyed it nice and hot and freshly made. Staff are very friendly and polite and adhere to your attention would definitely recommend this to my family and friends

I stopped for lunch at Harry Ramsden's at the food hall. There was no evidence of the meals being cooked on site, no smell of Fish & Chips, I ordered chips with curry sauce, I was handed the chips pre-packed, they were luke-warm and dry as though they were cooked ages beforehand,. The set-up looked false, no fish sitting above a fryer, no smell or signs of cooking, I didn't like them and won't be eating there again, you're better off going to a proper Fish & Chip Shop.

In our opinion, we thought it very expensive just for for lunch. Small fish, small chips, large beans & small bottle of water X 2 was nearly £30 !! Won't be visiting again at those prices.

Over priced cardboard, Been today shopping, had lunch there. Coffee was bitter, microwaved pie ( under cooked ) Tasteless chips & diluted vinegar. Really couldn't be bothered to complain because of the queue. We left half and just went. £23

Called here whilst shopping very pleasantly surprised of how nice the fish & chips were and the service was great. I will definitely call here again of I'm ever on the area.

debating how low to score this as the food was really nice, but the service from the two young girls was appalling, I fully understand it was a busy weekend (19/20) dinner period but i dont think ive ever seen two more less enthusiastic people to be at work, the little one in particular looked like your typical sullen teenage who would rather be anywhere else then serving customers. not nary a smile or 'your welcome' from her in sight just snappy little comments, very quite rude if im honest. you can get food just as good from one of the other stores in the food court and be served by actual nice friendly staff instead of little children with an attitude problem

Came last week. The service here is shocking. Teenage staff standing on her phone not interested in the customers. It's no wonder the few times I visit the centre this place has no customers.

Really nice service definitely would recommend and food is great. Abi and Paul were both very helpful and both very nice people

Had battered sausage which looked like it had been there all day, and was only 11.30 in the morning, batter was very brown and not fresh at all. chips were acceptable.

I love coming to Harry Ramsden’s as it is really nice and also if you are in one of the armed forces or have a DDS veterans card they give you 30% off your bill. They also take the blue light card and give a similar amount off. The food is always nice and my daughter loves it too.

Grabbed a couple of breakfast rolls (cobs to us locals) here while waiting for Clark’s to open. one foul deep fried bacon, and one tasteless sausage one for the wife. Mine went directly in the bin, followed by the wife’s sausage one after a few experimental bites. Never again.

We are regular visitors to the outlet, and no trip is complete without visiting Harry Ramsdens. The food is always freshly prepared and delicious! Staff are friendly and efficient and we have never been disappointed.

Cold over cooked chips, watery cold gravy, soggy fish burger and a flat drink. Just don’t even bother. So over priced.

Just had a very very poor experience here, soggy fish, everything luke warm and the worst onion rigs ever , if they could be described as that, mainly onion skin lacking in coating

I've been here a few times and always enjoyed the food. I went today, ordered 2 lots of cod, chips and peas. (about £16 with one drink) The fish was over-cooked, dry and grey in parts. The chips had obviously been cooked earlier and warmed-up. Dry, stale, barely warm. You'd expect better, at 12.30, when it is lunchtime. I won't bother with this place again.

My wife called in a few weeks ago and both of us had the Legendary meal and really enjoyed it.The fish was a meal in itself and at the price of just under £20.00 for both of us we were very happy.Fish was freshly cooked too

Popped up to the outlet and fancied Harry Ramsdens. Only wanted something light so had Fish bites and curry sauce! Tasted delicious, fish bites were fresh, tasty and hot... the curry sauce was really nice! Looking at the other meals from other customers it all looked great really Quick service too throughout. Dreadful meal cost me over £17 for two of us,teeny tiny fish,chips looked like they'd been cooked sometime last month and included some bad black ones, bread roll stale and just one butter pat, miniscule portion of mushy peas,asked for white coffee got black,the diet cola was alright tho, rip off, go to one of the other outlets in the food court

Food was great and service provided by Adam was outstanding. Helpful, polite and friendly. A credit to the company.

Never eaten at Harry Ramsden's before but I definitely would again! Chloe was very knowledgeable about all food and drinks and recommended the best choice for us. She had brilliant customer service and made us feel very welcome, a true asset to the company!

Been to East Midlans designer outlet many times over the years but had never ever even stepped inside the foodcourt but did today Thursday 11th April 2019 and glad we did.

We visited HR’s whilst shopping, Jean was friendly, polite & knowledgeable. She made recommendations about the food & drinks available. She is a great brand ambassador! The food was hot, fresh & tasty! We’d certainly recommend visiting 👍🏼

Delicious food cooked to order - which only took a few minutes. Fair size portions too. Helpful friendly and polite staff, particularly Joan who was happy to help. Would recommend.

Joan was a star. I asked if I could have a fish without batter. She said of course and offered me rice flour. She explained that it would be cooked in oil where batter had been. She offered to poach the fish for me. She then asked if I wanted butter and pepper on it. She served it in a tray with mushy peas.

I enjoyed my visit to the Harry ramsden’s at the designer outlet the people are friendly the food is great never had a bad experience and it’s reasonably priced I had a large cod meal with curry sauce it was awesome

Worth a visit for the theatre of seeing the staff cope with two families orders. Unconventional but brilliant service, although it does take time. Food does not have the same intrinsic value. Disappointing and expensive for what you get

Visited Harry’s for fish and chips and wasn’t disappointed. The food was lovely. A short wait whilst it was cooked - don’t mind a little wait if it means it’s cooked fresh. The young girl who served me (Chloe) was very good, professional and chatty. She also gave the little ones with me some Halloween sweets - nice touch. I will be visiting again.

I visited this weekend with my husband and 2 grandchildren aged 5 and 10. We waited a little while to be served because it was a busy Saturday lunchtime, but when we got to the front of the que we was greeted by a lovely young girl called Abbie S her full name was on the receipt but won't put that on here,she was very helpful and extremely polite. She served us our food with polite mannors and lovely smile. The food was delicious and enjoyed by all 4 of us. People are always quick to write negative reviews but I believe in giving credit where it's due. Keep up the good work abbie and the rest of the team. We look forward to coming back.

chips just did not look or taste like the average harry ramsdens, sausages were also a bit bland. prices are similar to your average local chippy but food portions are way smaller.

As title says we got our food left only to find a long hair in the gravey.small portions for what you pay, very greasy but to be fair the staff were nice.

Always choose this when visiting Junction 28 but not so good today. Was always consistent but today was ok-ish, lukewarm, lots of inedible bits in the chips and the fish wasn't up to usual standard. Could do a lot better!

Whilst out shopping decided to grab a quick lunch. We both had fish and chips. I had mushy peas and my husband had curry sauce. The food was delicious, hot and plentiful. At £6.95 it was great value. The service was quick, even though it was Saturday and quite busy. A lovely hot cup of tea finished off the meal perfectly. I would highly recommend this Harry Ramsden’s .

My hubby and I ordered Cod legendary and we were served by a lovely lady on my receipt it says CHLOE ,MARTIN. She was very polite. as she was serving unfortunately she decided to put the gravy pot on top of the fish and the other two pots next to the fish which is what normal hygiene certificate trained people do -PUT IT NEXT TO FISH NOT ON TOP!!. LOvely girl apologised and I politely asked her to change my fish and to never do such a thing because I felt it was unhygienic.

Very tasty fish and chips, friendly, efficient service and lots of seats/tables to choose from. Yes, it’s a bit pricey compared to local chippy - but it’s great for an occasional treat.

I have eaten at here on & off since the restaurant in Nottingham closed 6-7 years ago.

Had a takeaway children’s meal - to take home and a third of the chips were bad ! Not just ‘eyes’ many had holes right through - so worn holes!!

Same with some other comments chips are very strange some undercooked and some really hard and crispy with s strange after taste. Nice staff but I left most of my food

Clear allergy advice. We eat here often with my daughter with severe peanut allergy. The fish and chips are always great tasting but they are quite pricey.

Called into the outlet between meetings with work nearby...decided to eat here as never had ‘Harry Ramsden’ fish and chips before. The lady who served us (think her name was Jean???) was very friendly and efficient, the food - cod, chips with mushy peas and curry sauce was really tasty and it was a very decent sized ‘regular’ portion.

We ordered food towards the end of the day, so were advised that we would have to wait while they cooked our order. Much to our surprise, we were handed our food in about 4 minutes and it was delicious. Excellent service from the team, in particular Chole who served us. Keep up the good work!

Went for the big meal, one haddock and one cod, both came with plentiful chips a side, mushy peas and guerkins pies a buttered roll Good portion size and very fresh Nearly couldn't eat it all :-) Would definitely use if in the area again

Visited again and had my usual dish fish bites meal with curry! Lovely as always! They really do work hard! Paul the cook is always smiling! Monica the manager is very sufficient! Food court can get really busy but the centre is great!

Had the £6.99 regular cod and chips. It was ok, nothing special. Tasted a little dry, think it had been sitting in the hot cabinet for a while, there seemed to be lot of food in there. Although it was lunchtime they were not busy (nowhere near as busy as the surrounding concessions) and looked to have cooked off more food than needed. Side dish of onion rings were tasty and quite a generous portion.

What a pleasant surprise - I stopped here today and ordered fish, chips, mushy peas. The quality of the food was excellent and the staff were so helpful and friendly - really impressed. Thanks !

A regular stop off for lunch when my wife and I shop at East Mids Outlet, this place always serves consistently good food with a smile. They are always busy but waiting times are kept to a minimum with the seemingly hard working team keeping things moving. We were served by Monica who was polite, professional and served us a hot fresh lunch that hit the spot. We’ll be back!

This is not in Mansfield or even in Nottinghamshire but is in the food court at East Midlands Outlet on the A38 just on the Sutton in Ashfield side of J28 of the M1. The food court is home to 5 food outlets who jointly make sure the place is clean and tidy. My meal tonight (Regular Fish Chips and Curry ) was cooked to order and therefore hot, as was the coffee I bought with it. The fish was tasty and the curry one of the best in the area. Plenty of free parking and loads of shops in the outlet to go with the meal. Try it for yourself and enjoy.

The food was very good. The batter on the fish was light and crispy. The staff were very polite and efficient. All in all it was a very good experience. I would recommend a visit when visiting the outlet.

We used to love Harry but in recent years, it's been in decline, to the extent that we don't visit any more. But on a recent visit to The designer village, I decided to give it another try. So glad I did, this is how it used to taste, lovely fresh fish ( i did go large so can't comment on the size of the normal cod) homemade chips and mushy peas. All served piping hot with a smile by lovely Jean. Yes they're not cheap, mine was about £9 with a drink but it was worth it (and i'm a tight git so that's saying something). Well worth it's great rating on trip advisor.

We visited the food court this afternoon after some shopping at the outlet centre this morning. I opted for a regular portion of "cod and chips" which was priced at £6.99. The meal was nice enough although it would be more accurate to describe the portion size as "small".

Me my hubby son and mum was shopping at mcathur glen, they all decided on other meals, but I wanted fish & chips. There was only one person in front of me, so didn't have to wait, when it was my turn this lovely lad called ADAM served me.

We used to go to this shopping place to buy clothes and stuff , now we just go for the fish and chips at Harry’s .

I’ve been many times and each visit has been spot on! They don’t get enough credit for what they do! Hard working teams are hard to find! The food is lovely and fresh! Fish bites are my favourite!

As we were shopping at the outlet, we thought we would use the food hall. Opting for fish and chips and getting the standard portion for £6.99 each, whilst it was tasty, the price is extortionate for what was little more than a jumbo fish finger and a tiny portion of chips.

Just had lunch on our way to hull to catch a ferry. Monica served us and was lovely.Had fish chips and peas and tasted amazing also daughter had chicken wrap which she demolished. Will up back!!x

Whilst shopping at the outlet we fancied a bite to eat, so we headed for fish and chips, they have s varied selection and we had fish bites,chips&mushy; peas. The bites were perfectly cooked with a lovely lite batter,the chips were fresh. The whole meal was beautiful and served piping hot. Even though very busy all the staff were very friendly and took time to speak to us. A real friendly atmosphere was present as all the staff seemed happy to be there. Will definite be back.

Shopping in McArthur Glen and decided on an early lunch. Picked Harry Ramsdens - but not impressed. Ordered 2 fish and chips with 2 teas. Fish was OK. Batter good quality and hot. Chips had been sitting round too long and poor. meal came with two pots of mushy peas (there are other options) tea was in a paper cup with plastic lid. Milk in the usual small sealed containers. No spoons just those sticks that look like the stool sample collectors from the bowel cancer test. Decided last minute to get extra sauces ( Only salt & vinegar free I'm afraid. 2 sachets of tomato (Heinz) and two pots of mayonnaise (looked like they had made it themselves, very tasteless and sadly in need of a good splash of lemon juice in the mix) cost another pound bringing the total to £18. Even P&O; ferries only charge 20p for extras. Don't think I will be going here again. Trying the noodle bar next door next time.

My elderly disabled Mum lives quite near to the Outlet so we often go to Harry Ramsden's for lunch. The staff are excellent, always very helpful (special mention to Monica & Jean) and today even kept our food hot in their cabinet whilst I found a table for Mum and got her seated and settled. The food is always lovely, whatever we choose.

We ate lunch here today. Fast food joints in shopping mall food courts aren't my usual preference. Hubby had haddock chips and mushy peas while I had the hot dog meal. The older lady who served us was extremely polite and efficient making sure we got exactly what we wanted and how we wanted it. Good was hot (something that we have been unlucky enough to find very rare from fast food places) and tasty. Value for money was ok. Food rated a 3 star, the extra star is for the staff, both the lady who served us and the young lady who carried an older lady customers tray to a seat in the crowded seating area and got her settled as the customer appeared a bit shaky on her feet. Very good customer service!

Gosh, did I really do this? Settled for a chain fish&chips; stall in a shopping mall (albeit a designer outlet)? So help me I did, because I can't resist the lure of a chippie and this one was beckoning, it was lunchtime, and it had been 5 hours since breakfast. But it hit the spot and satisfied the cravings. I had a large cod fillet (you can also choose haddock, too), battered and crispy, hot, moist flaky fish inside, accompanied by plenty of chips - fries - that weren't quite as crunchy as we like it in the States, but a bit soft, just the way the Brits prefer it. And I had the mushy peas, too. The Harry Ramsden's chain provides a decent and affordable fish and chips, and although it no longer comes in the classic newspaper wrapper (it has an ersatz plastic one instead), it was nevertheless a convenient, affordable and satisfying quick-service meal. I feel very guilty eating the whole thing, but secretly very pleased that I did. More stairmaster later tonight ...

Never had a bad meal here. Tasty meals, prices are high but so are everyone else's. Friendly staff. Serving area is kept clean.

Regularmente me coma en Harry Ramsdens porque estoy siempre garantizado para conseguir lo que pagas - excelente comida servida en forma eficiente y con una sonrisa. El servidor esta vez fue Adam, que hizo todo lo posible para mantener el alto nivel, mi pareja y yo esperar. La comida y las bebidas estaban calientes y bien presentada. Si solo los establecimientos se mantienen a un nivel de calidad tan alto. Volveremos de nuevo.

Nos volvíamos a casa después de un fin de semana y decidimos parar en el centro comercial outlet para conseguir algo de comer. Vi un Harry Ramsdens así que no era un brainier aparte de para conseguir algo de pescado y patatas fritas. La señora que nos servía era muy amable. Tenía picaduras de pescado con patatas fritas. Realmente disfruté de ellos. No grasos y no patatas fritas pescados grasos, a buen pescado y patatas fritas!

Después de una tarde de compras para trajes en el cruce 28 nuestros estómagos estaban empezando a retumbar, pero más que un bocadillo y nos dirigimos a la zona de patio de comidas para ver qué era.

Hoy me sirvió una señora encantadora que se llama Jean. La cocina señora también estaba bien. Mi comida no fue demasiado largo de espera y fue encantador como de costumbre. Sí, este lugar puede ser un poco más caro que otras opciones, pero es más reciente y la pena, con lo mucho que recibes.

Que la gente que raramente sucede escuchar cuando usted pide un café negro débil. Mónica será no sólo escucharon pero entregan el café perfecto. Tenía una salchicha roll/bap también y quedé muy impresionado no sólo por la comida sino también por la presentación. Nivel de servicio de monica fue impecable. Sin duda recomendaría

La primera vez que he tenido Harry Ramsden y tengo que decir que el servicio y la comida era excelente, Pablo que nos servía oí me diciendo mi hijo estaba compartiendo la mía con mi madre, así que no sólo no me darán más cubiertos y bandeja puso comida extra en demasiado. Nunca sabido en cualquier establecimiento de comida de todos los años y tengo que decir que no me di cuenta de la onu, fui a gracias Paul por su amabilidad y prometió que volvería pronto.

Paramos en Harry Ramsdens para el almuerzo durante un viaje de compras recientes. Tuve el bacalao y patatas fritas para regular £7, que incluye una parte "gratis", pero la bebida no está incluida en el precio, así que me costó £1. 60. He visitado este centro comercial que estaba ocupado debido a unas vacaciones escolares. Para comer he usado Harry Ramsdens en el patio de comidas. A pesar de la cola que fue atendida rápidamente por Rachel que parecía estar a cargo. Toda la operación estaba resbaladiza y se aseguró la cola avanzaba rápidamente. Los peces picaduras pedimos eran recién preparado y la porción suficiente para justificar el precio. Mi esposa y yo le encantaría volver aquí.

Staff are always very pleasant and the place looks clean and tidy as thought the staff take pride and yet again the food was faultless, certainly recommend to any fish n chip lovers. 👍🏼
