Popped in for the first time had the platter for my Sunday dinner was delicious the staff were friendly and welcoming I will be coming again

Beautiful little town, ideal location , great pub and restaurant with very helpful staff, food was excellent, and place is dog friendly. Only downside is checkout time is an hour before it actually opens? So you are walking about trying to hand in a room key? No information as to where to leave it/post it etc.

Excellent solo 1 night stay. Staff were friendly and service was fab, both in the restaurant and the hotel. My room was clean, comfy and really luxurious, I couldn't fault it. The food I ate for Sunday lunch was fresh, tasty and excellent quality. I will definitely be returning.

Have eaten here on many occasions. Really lovely location and nice decor and atmosphere. Usually have the pizzas which are absolutely delicious, probably some of the best around locally in our opinion. The 2 for 1 offer is fantastic! Staff are always friendly, service is usually great. This week it was extremely slow and we were forgotten about which was a little frustrating. Our Waitress didn’t write down our order so when pizzas arrived a topping was missing and no one checked if everything was ok. Second round of drinks and a dessert ordered after, which were forgotten about and we had to chase 15-20 minutes later. When the dessert arrived it was really disappointing (chocolate sundae brownie, definitely not worth £9.99!) which had the tiniest square of brownie lost in lots of cream! Mocktails were really nice. Lovely night regardless and will return again as we do really enjoy it here usually. If you’re looking for amazing pizza and chips then this is a great spot to try.

We did not stay at the property but dined there the food was disappointing I ordered a burger which was extremely greasy had to keep drying my hand on a napkin, my wife ordered fish and chips with some sort of green mushy peas overall not impressed we will stick with the boot next time having returned to Harpurs the food now was exceptional small bites are very good value for money and very nice food, staff are very good. We will return

Great food and even better customer service. Nothing was to much to ask for regarding advice for allergens. Our meals took a while to arrive which was due to an issue of the ticket not going through to the kitchen, the staff couldn't be more apologetic and removed the drinks from our bill. Overall a great night and will definitely return.

Service a bit slow but it was a Sunday lunch and a Bank Holiday themanager made an adjustment to the bill without being asked food was good and staff friendly Will go there again so perhaps five stars

Outstanding food, deserves SIX stars. For a Wednesday night service was attentive and impeccable, and perfectly complimented the wonderfully prepared and presented food. Well worth all the praise and more. Highly recommend, stop by when you're next in the area.

Convenient for an overnight stay in the centre of Melbourne, with free parking if you are a guest. The pub was quite lively with some associated noise, but we had a great night's sleep in a smart room with the most comfortable bed. Breakfast was delicious. A the stagg were friendly and polite Melbourne is a lovely location to visit with many places to eat and drink

The food was divine. Service was very friendly and helpful and we couldn't recommend Harpurs enough.

We didn't stay in the hotel but went for a meal . It was absolutely delicious . We had Sunday lunch 22.99 for two courses and we were spoilt for choice, some items had a supplementary charge but it was still worth it as the food was perfect. Selection of veg all the relevant trimmings and loads of meat. The staff are lovely and very professional. Although we didn't see any rooms if the standard of the restaurant and pub area was an indicator then I am sure they are great. I went back a couple of months later mid week and had another wonderful meal from the lunch menu . I can't rate this place highly enough and I would recommend you book as it soon gets busy .

Really great Mother’s Day meal. Sunday roast was absolutely bang on. Service ideally would have been a tad quicker, but given how busy everything was, I wasn’t at all bad and when you did ask everyone was very attentive. Pricing is about right, not cheap but not bad value £35 for 3-courses. £13 for kids.

We were there at about 4pm on a Sunday . There was live football on TV in the bar area so it was very busy and rather noisy . However, we found a corner to sit and enjoyed our pre meal drinks. The restaurant part was much quieter and calmer. Our meal was delicious. Very nicely presented and plentiful. Service was great considering just how busy it was. I would definitely go here again as it's a lovely place and the food was really good

Great local establishment offering good food and it's own made beer in the center of the town. The restaurant has a lovely pair of dinning rooms, one of which is located upstairs. The bar area is very spacious and has many tables available for food service with an outdoor courtyard area adjoining. All of the patron areas are clean in design and have decent spacing between tables preventing the feeling of overcrowding.

We went for a meal with friends. We weren't too sure where in Melbourne it was, but found it, & were pleased to see a carpark belonging to the restaurant next to it. Only a small restaurant, but good service, not a huge choice on the menu, but we had a lovely rump steak, well cooked, with a little basket of chips, &some green leafy accompanying stuff, with a choice of only 2 sauces for the steak. It was nice, but expensive, & not a plate full of food.

Food was lovely and the staff really attentive, will be visiting again. It forces to give the room stars, we didn't stay we only ate in the restaurant.

Staying here for the week, very noisy environment. A very loud quiz night on a Wednesday night, very loud guy on a mic and loud music. How are you meant to relax in your room when the room is shaking with the noise. Not want you want after a long day at work mid week 😒

We came for a Sunday lunch, the food was fantastic and everyone working there was really friendly.

I spent one night here and really wanted to like it but I just didn't have a good night's sleep. Positives: lovely service, good food, place looks nice, tidy and clean. Negatives: noisy (next to road), noisy water heater/pumps (wake you up if someone has a shower early), don't serve breakfast, only have feather pillows (are are WAY too soft), heating not on in the morning (was 2c outside!). It's a shame, as it could be a great place.

The staff make this place! Happy and always remember you by name! They make you feel special and individual which can't be a bad thing - excellent venue and good selection of food, wine & spirits. Also serving coffee and breakfast making it an ideal location for business users. Wifi??? Not sure? Probably - but not used yet.

We visited Harpurs recently for a meal. We were a group of ladies having a pre Christmas meal & the guy who I assumed was the manager provided exceptional service. He was really busy but still had time to have a laugh with us & even a spillage of red wine didn't fluster him. The food was great & the whole experience was faultless. Thankyou

Good pizzas, very large and excellent value. Their draught beer from the Boot Brewery in nearby Repton was truly excellent.

Absolutely brilliant food and the staff were absolutely 💯% being patient with my daughter and her diet needs.. She and I really enjoyed our self's.

Had lunch. Wife had pea and leek risotto and I had the beef burger. The risotto was the best I have ever tasted, next level and my burger was the tastiest I have had in a very long time. Staff were polite and very helpful.Would recommend

We only ate in the restaurant the food and service were great.

Breakfast was really nice. Fresh cooked and well presented. Serving staff were very helpful and polite. Did not stay here, just met a friend for breakfast.

Unfortunately, we wont be returning, ive never really done reviews before however the service was absolutely appauling. Too many inexperienced and under-trained staff, kind of sums it up. however on a plus side the food was good hence the 3 stars. I think overall we waited 20 minutes for a drinks order and didnt receive our mains for just over an hour after that it was like we was forgotten about we had to ask for more drinks several times which felt like it was effort to take our orders. I then went on to ask for the bill and after 2 attempts and 40 minutes later we finally received, paid and moved onto almalfi white which is exactly where I wish we should have started and finished the night as that was lovely.

We went there to eat on a busy Friday evening. Service was very slow- took us about 30 minutes to be served our first drink. Ordered a pizza which, whilst tasty, was a bit undercooked - base was still a bit doughy.

Superb Sunday lunch, best I have had in a long time and reasonably priced in a proper pub environment.

Excellent service and fabulous food, always so well looked after when dining here.

Been with my misses for our anniversary for dinner in restaurant area unfortunately the service was very poor many times has to ask for everything and even that been forgotten to serve as well later on both of us felt sick so bad that cannot go to work,we ordered fish and chips, very disappointed
