Below average pizza for the price. Same quality as a standard takeaway. Not even home made dipping sauce, just 2 tiny pots of store bought for £1.50 is crazy.

Who knows why Harpo's have changed their pizzas. They have consistently been the best in Leeds for decades. But over the past few months it's been a soggy wet mess. We used to order once a fortnight. After 4 orders in a row of frankly very poor meals we've finally given up. A damned shame. We've been using them for 28 years.

Just dropping in a note of appreciation - been coming here for Leeds and love the pizza. Highly recommended and they even do their own beer now!

Used to be great, gone down hill a bit. Silly as it sounds, too much sauce, too much topping and not enough cooking. Base was really soggy, almost soaked through box. Busy Saturday night, but rushed out and just not cooked properly. Won't be going back, better options locally.

The pizzas at Harpos always have plenty of fresh toppings and are cooked perfectly. The staff are friendly and you get exactly what it says on the box.

Proper pizzas, dough was light, really tasty fresh ingredients. Better than many a restaurant pizza I’ve had. Not cheap but you get what you pay for; this will definitely be my go to treat takeout from now on. We ordered as takeout to the pub and everyone was coming up to the table saying that looks and smells amazing and asking where we got it from.

Sorry to say but for the first time ever these pizza's were terrible, they were only just cooked and when I got them home they had almost soaked through the boxes because they were boarding under cooked. The base which is normally lovely was wet and stodgy I had to take each pizza and put them in my own oven to try and cook them through properly and dry out the crusts. Kind of defeats the object of spending £30 on a take away. Massively disappointed And whoever it is that cuts them needs either needs retraining or a new pizza slicer but that's just a small gripe

Not sureeeee whats happend to this joint. It use to be good back in the day. Its now mediocre, full of dry herbs and over priced

Been a returning customer of harpos for 20 years and it seems something has changed.. not sure what is going on but the quality is not the same. Sloppily created it seemed all the mozzarella dumped in the middle of the pizza and so overloaded the middle is soggy. Chips cold on delivery and tasted like dirty oil not impressed at all. Such a shame as it has been our favourite pizza place in leeds but now will give other places a try in future.

Had pizza from here, the first time in a long time. Only a 20 minute wait which was good. Pizzas were average, nice toppings but not a fan of the thick base they use. I normally love the crust but couldn’t eat it, far to thick and chewy. Ok for a quick fix but there’s better pizza around

We go again and again. Great pizza, great value. Fours seasons and Groucho are our favourites. Their craft beer is good too.

Dreadful. They were burnt underneath and had been dropped. After scraping everything back together they were just a salty mess consisting of cheap toppings and badly formulated dough. These clowns need to visit Italy to understand what pizza could and should be. Although I doubt they would give a f&&k.

First time back for a while and was disappointed. Five staff, one not wearing a mask at all, four wearing them under the chin. If they don’t do highly visible hygiene what about the hygiene they should do and you can’t see? Order taken and prepared promptly. Peperoni was good, the Toscana was not good, overloaded with shredded ham. Fries were cool.

I'm surprised seeing all these recent reviews, myself and my boyfriend both had a lovely pizza with excellent service. Very generous on the toppings and great price! I recommend the Kiev pizza, will definitely come back!

How disappointing, been going to Harpo’s for over 40 years and I can honestly say it the worse pizza i have had. Pizza’s not cooked and very doughy, dry, small and bland. As for my Bolognese (the famous”Chin Dribbler”) well nothing was dribbling and Ipaid an extra £1 for 8 extra pepperoni. Come back Harpo’s we miss you.

Really sloppy pizza-ordered a chicken and mushroom so it wasn’t supposed to be sloppy. When you picked up a slice of the Margarita the cheese slid off it was so wet. Also the people behind the counter didn’t have masks on properly

3 times we have tried ordering now.No gluten free optionsAccepts online order then to reject later and not deliver. Refused to swap out chicken for peppers and wanted to charge £1 extra to make a meat pizza veggie suitable.Very limited veggie options, vegan options. May have been around years but clearly not moved with the tines.Extremely disappointed.

I have been getting pizza from here since I was a kid, and their dough recipe is amazing! Nothing like it anywhere else I’ve been to. However, the way they do the toppings has really decreased in quality since the old guy with white hair left. I have to order extra toppings so it’s not 40% crust, and they often chop the peppers and onions too large so they end up undercooked. Ordering with no extra toppings it ends up looking stingy, I’m not sure why or how they do it this way as I remember how amazing it was when I was young. If they chopped toppings finer and spread out the cheese and tomato better so there’s not so much crust it would be better, like the older white haired man would - proper class pizzas! Undercooked onion thickly sliced I often have to pick some off. Either way, lovely staff, brilliant service; girl with the pony tail and dark hair very polite. Good social distancing measures in place.

I ordered a pizza last night (Toscana).I was very excited as I had seen a photo, but when it arrived it looked nothing like it did in the photo. The ingredients that were on the pizza were raw and it was also missing some that were advertised. The delivery didn’t take longer than 20 minutes which suggests the order was rushed. I would have rather waited longer for a pizza that was properly cooked and not missing half the ingredients.

Great , authentic tasty food. Remarkable how you can choose your toppings and this makes it personalized! Really enjoyed them . Keep it up guys :)

Collected 2 pizza's last night. Staff was very friendly and polite. Insured everybody followed the COVID instructions. The pizza's were delicious. Looking forward to be ordering again.

I have been using Harpo's on Street Lane Leeds for 20+ years and I have never tasted better pizza's anywhere. They are "delicious" The Best Ever!!

We had a couple of pizzas and some chips this evening, the chips arrived a bit cold but they were quite nice. The pizzas were average to be honest, the base was hard and not tasty at all! Much better pizza from Franco manca, pizza loco or proove pizza. Quite disappointed really, the dough was just a bit rubbish! Will go elsewhere next time...

Ordered 2 pizzas last night from Harpos ,and having reviewed other pizza eateries, having ordered there from the origins of Headingley late 1970’s, they still deliver the same amazingly great cooked and tasting pizza

He estado yendo a Harpo desde que tenía 7 años. Ahora tengo 37. Amé estas pizzas toda mi vida desde los días en que Leroy y Mario las cocinaron en Headingley. El especial de Harpo es probablemente el único alimento para llevar que más he comido en mi vida. Por lo tanto, me decepcionó enormemente mi última visita porque, sencillamente, no sabía igual. We love the pizza from Harpo’s - even though they don’t deliver and don’t accept cards, we go out of our way to go there for our pizza and won’t go anywhere else. Great base and generous toppings.

They once were the best pizzas in Leeds. Haven't been for a while but couldn't believe how the standard has dropped. The base has been changed, it was as hard and tasteless as a frozen supermarket pizza, the size of pizza has shrunk too, which wasn't too bad as we lleft most of the three pizzas we ordered. Toppings were ok but with arguably the most important part of the pizza that grim it didn't matter how good the toppings. Must be new management?

Realmente quería agradar a Harpo, pero no veo de qué se trata todo este bombo. En dos visitas separadas, nuestras dos pizzas solo probamos puré de tomate, estaban grasientas y quemadas en el fondo.

Lea las excelentes críticas. La pizza de Madras no era buena en absoluto. Muy grasoso y parecía que tiene muchos ingredientes artificiales. Los poppers de pollo eran basura. Me sentí como desperdicio de dinero en efectivo. Probé este lugar para evitar los lugares habituales de pizza, pero estaba equivocado. La próxima vez me quedaré con pizza express de Sainsbury's.

He estado en harpos muchas veces y siempre he tenido una comida deliciosa y un gran servicio en todo momento. Tuvimos comida para llevar de 3 veces durante el verano y fue horrendo. Cuando hablé con la chica que estaba haciendo la orden, le pregunté por el tipo que generalmente hace las pizzas. Ella dijo que Bob / Rob se había ido, así que nunca volví y la comida no era un parche en lo que solía ser. I have been going to Harpo's for over 10 years and it's never let me down. Other take out pizza leaves you feeling guilty and slights ill after all the stodge, but not with Harpo's!

There is a great range of pizzas to choose from, all freshly made and cooked in front of you. I have the Calzone special nearly every time, it's fantastic. Always friendly staff and spc to ark just outside the door.

I had the American hot pizza, which was delicious. but when i ordered and sat down i saw that there was a specials board that i didn't see and would have preferred. maybe a little expensive, but oh well i guess was worth the few extra quid for a good quality pizza.

Lovely fresh pizza. Iv been going since they had the shop in headingley 20+ years ago. The only thing that lets it down is firstly they don't deliver and secondly it's very expensive £8.50 for a small (11") pizza

It's practically an institution - I first had Harpo's pizza 26 years ago and the last time I had one was about 2 weeks ago.The pieces are the prices are the prices - none of the dementedly inflated prices of the big chains with spurious "massive discounts" (I'm looking at you, Pizza Hut and Papa John's)great range of combinations, ever-reliable pizzas. Vegi Classico is my personal favourite, American Hot is a family hit too.

Just had a take away after being recommended and was not disappointed. Good value for money and far better than the chain pizza take aways nearby.

How does the mighty Harpos lose its way? I love tell you. It now sells smaller pizzas that don't bubble around the edges. They have the taste but not the thin crust base that I loved of old. Somewhere along the way they forgot what made them so good. The passion for food seems gone. I've been buying pizza here (wherever they were) since '85 and I KNOW how good these boys can do pizza. They could really do Pizza. Now it's like you get anywhere. Flat base, not the crispy, bubbly edges we all loved, something has gone. It's not just me. The pizza are definitely smaller than they used to be. Why? You guys were the best...really...so why compromise and sell smaller, more commercial pizza? Maybe you sell more but you've lost the passion for the best pizza in town, no, England, and may sell more but no longer sell the very best. Too bad. It's the last time I drive 40 miles for the pizza I loved.

Been eating harpos pizzas since the mid 80's the formula never fails. Great ingredients expert cooks and love. Delicious every time. chips are good too

Definitely the best pizza in Leeds by a mile! Always ready within 10 - 15 minutes, and always done to perfection. The chicken goujons are great too. Really friendly service and the pizzas come with lotds of cheese :)

Harpo's offer a fairly unique style of pizza, so I should preface this review by saying it might not be for everyone. However, this reviewer thinks it is great. Hearty fare, good value and the best pizza takeaway on Street Lane. Have eaten from here several times and never had a complaint - always punctual, warm and pleasant service.

Get takeout from here fairy regularly as it is extremely tasty and good value for money. Try the belly buster and the chicken goujons.

We Travel to pick our pizzas up use you quite often but tonight's pizza wasn't the same the base of the pizza was so thin there was nothing there you might as well of just put the toppings in the box not happy...

Although they are pricey you cannot fault Harpo's. Consistently good pizzas from a good old fashioned Pizza house. Made quickly by hand and ready in 15-20 minutes. I have been to expensive Italian restaurants and not tasted as good.

Harpo's is one of those places that just doesn't falter. I've been eating their pizzas for 17 years since I moved to Headingley. They moved to Roundhay so we travelled a bit further to get the pizza! Consistently good pizza with an ever changing specials board so there's always something different. Just can't fault it.

Harpo's is without doubt the best take away pizza in Leeds, and probably much further than that. Consistently good for whatever it is - 30 years? Well worth a trip over to Street Lane, where it moved from Headingley a few years ago. The menu has moved on a little but all the old favourites are there. Really, really brilliant.

Harpos never skimp on toppings. Pizzas are always loaded with plenty of toppings. No low quality ingrediants used here.Give the bellybuster a try its great.Only negative is that they dont take credit cards, its cash only.

I had my first Harpos in Headingley when I was 17 and it's still faultless.... Full of flavour great choice and loaded in toppings. Owner/chef still loves providing class pizza every time. Bit of a trip for me to Roundhay however it's well worth the effort....I'm now 47 and over 30 years it's never been better

Like many in Leeds, I first discovered Harpo's as a student in Headingley. I've tried pizza all over the uk in the last 36 years, but i keep returning. Its not the usual pizza chain offering with pepperoni cut so thin you can see through it and my teenagers agree. The owner very kindly relocated to Street Lane which happens to be nearer to me - so for all you ex Leeds students its still going strong and still has the Harpo's taste!

Been a customer of harpos for 25yr now, they used to be on Compton Road but now reside on Street Lane. People travel for miles to feast on the unique pizza and pasta. Quality ingredients not chopped up into little cubes so you don't know what they are In our view the best Pizza takeaway in Leeds.

I've been to harpos on a number of occasions and the pizza are the best around. Fresh, fantastic choice, great ingredients and they taste amazing. The only thing is that they don't deliver, if they did I would go much more often. Highly recommended

Over priced and quite ordinary 11' pizzas. They take only cash! Mediocre pizzas - ebetter piizzas available in most other places.

Harpos pizzas are renowned for being fab and they don't disappoint. What does disappoint is that if you want to phone your order in to save waiting, they quoted 40 minutes wait time because they say that they give priority to the walk ins. Surely if they have a phone and they answer it to take orders, the order should just slot in the queuing system, not be left on the side. At Harpos they only take cash too, which really shoots them in the foot because if they took cards people could order it, pay for it and it is up to them if they are late for it - its paid for.They are really the dinosaurs of the food takeaway industry. Shame because we have often though of ordering from them because the pizzas are amazing, but we don't want to have to wait around in the shop or in the car for it to be cooked.

Harpo's is without doubt the best pizza in Leeds. Had most things off the menu and never had a bad pizza. More expensive than most takeaways but well worth it for the quality ingredients. No skanky mystery meat here! Just wish they delivered. or not actually as I would be 18stone.

In today's competitive market to not provide delivery you have got to be good. Harpos is! The Pizzas are as good as I have tasted. The salami is delicious and all the family really enjoy it. Just a shame I have to drive but it's just not worth risking a takeaway from anywhere else if it's pizza that's on the agenda.

I like my pizzas cooked fresh including the dough - if you want a proper pizza rather than the stodgy kind you get at Dominoes or Pizza Hut give Harpos a try - its a North Leeds institution for a reason.

If you haven't already, you MUST try the Schneider Belly Buster pizza from Harpos. It is the best pizza I have ever had. My boyfriend and I dream of it at night and it's hands town our favourite takeaway in Leeds.
