Many thanks to the staff at the Harewood Arms for declining our request for drinks and a few packets of crisps on the basis of not having reserved a table and having children. It motivated us to cook a fantastic lunch at home and saved me a small fortune. Good luck with the new business model.

What a shame. We used to visit this bar frequently to have Sunday dinner as we have Harewood house membership. Today we walked in as usual and were notified that it was under new management and they only accept pre bookings. Now we are stood with a 3 year old who is expecting Sunday lunch. I quickly hop on Google to find a new place to get lunch and was told in a pedantic manner that I can’t use my phone inside as this was the policy. I can understand the policy, but surely use some common sense of when to enforce this. Needless to say, I will never go back.

Really Bad service and bad altitude. You can hear people walking around in their room due to the thin wall. bad hardware, toilet and chair were broken. The room is missing standard amenities that should be provided, including a water kettle. Never come back, and as a person who travel around the world, it the first time I give a hotel a bad review

I tried to buy two beers, Apparently you can’t use your mobile phone at the table, but you can at the bar, given that I was at the bar at that time, the manager threatening to ‘kick me out’ for what I wasn’t doing, which seemed illogical -And whist I’m not an economist I’m not sure serving two pints then refusing the customer to pay for them, seemed somewhat fiscally inept, all I was going was stood at the bar getting my app ready to pay for the beer! Don’t go!!

We went here to eat and the service was incredibly slow. We waited for about 15 mins for our drinks which were all simple bar drinks and then ordered food which took another 40 mins and some menu items were not available. The food was extremely underwhelming and not worth the price or wait. Some things also did not meet the menu description. We were also told to stop looking at our phones as they have a no phone policy which would have been fine if they had not kept us waiting for so long for disappointing food.

Just back from a 2 night stay over and was a little concerned by some of the reviews before we arrived but needn't have worried in the slightest. The management couple have been in situ for 2 months and you can see their passion for getting the pub perfect. All the staff are friendly and chatty. Yes it's no phones or technology in the pub itself but it's actually really refreshing to hear people chatty g to one another. Perfect location for venturing into Leeds or further afield. Had evening meal 1 evening and breakfast on both mornings, all very nice and tasty. We were invited along to the monthly quiz night by the owners and had a fun evening with the locals....we even won, much to the excitement of the owner!! Don't take any notice of the bad reviews, go and see for yourself. Will definitely stay here again when travelling up north

Lovely pub, good service, nice beers, but was a little overwhelmed at all the rules! No mobile phones or laptops, no swearing and no standing at the bar. As a 1st time visitor I was a tad overwhelmed and felt a little like being at school. It's a leeds area pub, not the ritz!

Chaotic. Booked lunch and travelled half an hour only to be told that they weren’t serving food! Poor.

A great location but unfortunately very poor maintenance and up keep of the room. Hopefully the new management can turn it around. Complaint went to head office and to say the customer service was bad was an understatement but after many unanswered emails and phone calls we were reimbursed.

Just had a wonderful two night stay in this lovely country pub, to attend a wedding at Wharfedale Grange. The new tenants go above and beyond to ensure complete satisfaction and made our stay most enjoyable. The food was great quality and very reasonable. Perfect location for Harrogate too! Highly recommend.

What a wonderful little hotel. The rooms were clean and well serviced. The shower incredible. Beds comfy. The food was great, served quickly and with a smile. The breakfast was spot on, full English as you would expect. We absolutely loved the digital detox part of the pub, it was refreshing and fun. There are board games, newspapers and good company. Well done and thank you to the team for hosting us this weekend it's been a lovely stay.

This was a nice pub a few years back, now the place is staffed by rude and obnoxious poeple, I was standing at the bar waiting for someone to serve us and was just closing down my walking app, when this really rude member of staff came round the corner, Barking at me that mobile devices are not allowed in this pub loud enough for the whole bar to hear, there was just no need for it, but you can still pay your bill with a your phone!!! Sorry that's double standards. Staff really need training on how to talk to customers.

Friendly staff, I asked for gluten free bread and the chef made a point of coming over to our table and checking what I could and couldn't eat, which was really good. On the downside, I ordered a chicken burger and was served a beefburger, I don't eat beef. I took this back, and it was replaced with a chicken burger, but the chips looked and tasted like they had been reheated, so I'm guessing they were the chips that were served with the beefburger. I wasn't offered a refund for the difference in price between the beefburger and chicken burger, I had to ask for it. I certainly won't be eating there again.

Frustratingly we have to give the hotel a 3*. It has such potential, the staff are lovely, the rooms are spacious, the breakfast room is light, airy and grand. The food, particularly the meat, was very good quality and perfectly cooked. We couldn't wait to eat there again...... Now the reason for the 3 Star, the bedroom was not serviced (according to info pack, rooms are to be serviced everyday) and as such our towels and teabags were not replaced. There was also no bistro table and chairs, although there was room for them. This was particularly noticable when we were forced to order a take away... We had spent 8 hours out walking in the local countryside, were absolutely famished and looking forward to dinner. We were actually discussing the menu on our way back and deciding what to get. Looking forward to a relaxing evening of food and drink. BUT when we went to the bar we were told (after we ordered drinks) that they stopped serving food at 6pm.. this would not have mattered had we been told as we would have planned to say to make it back in time. The information pack in the room stated that food is served daily until 9pm. There was no other eating establishment in the village open so our choices were to start researching the next towns for where to eat and get a bus, or order a take away. We were so hungry we went for the latter, which now meant the lack of a bistro set in the room was really noticable. We spent the last night eating from our beds! Not ideal, especially when we specifically booked an inn rather than a b&b for the convenience of the bar and restaurant after a long day. I would have liked to have discussed this with staff when checking out.. but..even though we had to check out before 11, no-one was available and the doors to the bar were all locked. The reception area was open, but the shutters pulled down and a note to say it would reopen at 1130. There were phone numbers which we called.. they never answered the first and the second rang behind the shutters! We walked around looking for a key drop to no avail, and eventually posted the key under the door to reception. If the staff had communicated the time changes in restaurant, there would be no issue.. if staff had informed us our room would not be serviced, we would not have left the wet towel on the bathroom floor.. only to have to use again! Very frustrating!

I walked into the shop during lunchtime get a sandwich give you some context I am a South Asian male. I didn’t get a greeting at all when I walked into shop neither did I get approached to ask what I wanted to get. I must have paced up and down the shop a good few times to get someone’s attention the workers could see me but chose to ignore me and put their head down carrying on working. It was a good few minutes at this time. Another gentleman (Caucasian/White) walked into the shop at this point there were only two of us I was the first and only customer to arrive. The lady began to serve him straight away with a very nice greeting and continued to ignore me. This behaviour is disgraceful from your business and I will escalate this issue. I expect to you check your CCTV to back up what I’m saying. This is clearly discrimination and you clearly have some racist staff working at your store. I won’t be coming back and I will be telling others about what happened to me.
