Food was great, pleasant atmosphere & the service was the best thank you Georgia.

Food is delicious and well priced, the Staff are wonderful and very attentive, especially Hannah and Jodie.

1 slice of raw carrot. pink chicken. 3 small roast potatoes. Definitely not worth visiting never mind £26 each. We were refunded for 2 of the meals staff were friendly but seemed used to the complaints. Even the table next us said they would not return. don't waist your time. Over priced and under cooked...

The views are amazing here with plenty of outdoor seating areas. The staff were fantastic. We had lunch there and stayed all day. Only disappointing thing was it was a lovely sunny day and they would not serve dinner outside. Food was ok but Vegan food was not really tasty (mushroom dish). Would definitely come again though.

Served by a lovely young waitress called Paige.She was so friendly and chatty and made us feel very welcome and relaxed. Food very nice and service 1st class.Thank you

We had a table for 3. My girlfriends son had a steak which he ate without complaint and a dessert. Both looked good and he seemed happy with his food. The fish we ordered was frankly really dry. My girlfriends fish was pretty much inedible, I ate mine as it was slightly better, but we expected better quality for the prices. The place was extremely busy which i felt the staff handled very well. We amended our booking at very short notice and they sorted it immediately. The place had a nice atmosphere. The location is amazing and the staff were very helpful and apologetic when we complained about the fish. They refunded my girlfriends meal and gave her son his dessert for free. All in all, not the experience we were hoping for but may give it another shot and try something else.

Met with a welcoming smile and served by Helen and Hannah. We were with our granddaughter and we all enjoyed your meal as well as being looked after Helen and Hannah very attentive. Thank you Ps Emilia loved her fresh fruit salad

Good selection on the menu, reasonably priced, beer pricy

Great spot to chill n relax with the family/friends. The vibe is Mellow and fits in with the views and environment, not to mention you can bring your well behaved dog with you.

This is such a lovely place, whether it be for a pub lunch or to sit outside and enjoy a drink whilst looking at the beautiful scenic view of Manchester. Also looks so pretty at night time with there fairylights. Definitely worth a visit.

I Called in for a nice cool shandy but ended up staying for a quick bar snack. Even though it was busy the bar and seating area inside and out was very clean tidy and pleasant! Being very busy I expected to possibly have a short wait but this was wrong as the kitchen staff and bar staff who I can only say were extremely polite and professional coped very well. It's a delightful place with extremely good staff and management! Will be definitely calling again! Thank you.

Shocking service Waited and waited food was just OK Eont be going again

Sea Bass so small, chips and garden peas, not value for £20, chicken sandwich really hard and dry. Was very disappointed with both meals. Service was good and polite, Drinks were very good and reasonable, pity about the food.

Came in on the off chance for a bite to eat, Cara was very accommodating and managed to get us a table. Service was exceptional, very friendly and the food was served in quickly. Hot, tasty and fresh. The fish was super flaky and tge steak and ale pie was delicious, compliments to Chef John. This newly refurbished pub, with ample outdoor seating and a new outdoor bar, is a must visit for locals and non locals alike. Such a great atmosphere, with spectacular views across the whole of Manchester on a clear day. Fab visit.

we did not book but had a really good time and was lucky enoug to be given a table with a good view. ordered the stirloin steak with pepercorn sauce which was cooked to perfection will be back again soon ☺️ would like to thank cara for serving us

No effort been made by any staff Food was ages and was cheap and cooked badly then tried blaming the suppliers hahaaa out of there control apparently joke the views good but shame its been ran by random people that dont care

Wow what a fantastic location this pub Restaraunt is sat on top of Werneth Low this gorgeous location offers some of the most amazing views, you can see for miles across the Cheshire plains and can even see the aircraft flying into Manchester Airport nose to tail as they swoop down from over the top of the Pennines on their final approach. The food and drink here is second to none and it is a perfect place for refreshments following a breathtaking walk across the hills. The staff here are amazing, we were served by the lovely Hannah who ensured we had everything we needed and all this at a very reasonable cost. I can highly recommend this amazing pub restaurant and will definitely be returning soon 🙂🍽️🍷🍻🍹

Excellent value for money and variety on the menu. Our steak was delicious and cooked to requirements. Our chicken burger was tasty and our steak burger was just right for my son. Service was fabulous and the view is amazing. Well worth a visit.

Staff either overworked or lacked customer service skills. Food average, but roast dinner was a 2/5 as parsnips undercooked, green beans water logged, gravy lumpy!

This is a lovely country pub with great views of Manchester and the surrounding countryside. It was very busy when we arrived and fortunately one of our party booked ahead for dinner. The bar service was pretty slow, and only one staff member serving/pouring drinks. I found the food quite enjoyable but lacking in quantity. This is a pet friendly place, so there are loads of pooches. Our table was served by Millie, and she was great.

Ordered a roast dinner which came out on really hot plates. The plates were hot but the food was cold. No one came to ask if everything was ok . Had to call a member of staff to take the food away. Ten minutes later I was told they would replace my meal, by this time the others on my table had almost finished their meal so I refused a replacement as I would have been eating alone. The others on my table also said their meal was barely warm but I was the only one to complain. We ordered the rump beef which tasted ok but was very fatty. The cost of my meal was removed from the bill but the overall cost was over £126 for 4. Certainly not value for money Overall it was very disappointing so will not be returning.

Absolutely stunning here, from views to food! Decided to visit for a last minute lunch date, ordered the sausage, mash and peas with crunchy carrots - Best meal eating out in a very long time! The chef (Cal) hats off to you 👌 what ever you did with them carrots 🤤 never tasted anything like it 🤌 Has become mine and hubby's favourite go to!

Been back again tonight after visiting a few times with my family and as always had excellent food and service! Massive thank you to our server Cara, particularly for amusing our two year old, we’ll be back soon!

Visited at lunchtime sat outside with our little dog the patio area tables and ash trays were filthy we sat on a round glass top table it was filthy so we did not eat ... only 1 member of staff serving on his own on the outside bar poor lad so was actually quicker to go inside order n pay for drinks n carry them out ... tables were left cluttered with dirty plates and glasses and the shrubbery they've planted on the patio needs pruning looks very very unkept such a shame because it is a stunning place to visit ... no hello hi eye contact from management but have to say the young man outside on the bar very nice and the young lady serving on the bar inside very friendly and polite ...

Visited for lunch on a beautiful day, everyone in our group enjoyed thier meal which was worth every penny. The team that work there are so nice, helpful and knowledgeable. If you get chance to visit - DO IT!!

Fantastic scenery. Outside (Uni) bar person very friendly. Waiting staff inside nice & personable, just the lady dealing with table allocation not the friendliest. Food not the greatest. Service quite slow & we in no hurry so....Wished would of taken photos to back up review. Fish & chips not ideal, more batter than fish. Halibut on bed of lentil was disappointing & so dry, missing the advertised Asparagus & lemon butter Sauce. When asked for said Asparagus & Sauce, was met with disdain from the lady who allocated tables. She did not appreciate any criticism of the meal!! Overall, the pub is just lovely & a pleasure to be there, especially on a sunny day. Wouldn't rush back to eat there though.

Disappointed with the change to the vegetarian option for Sunday lunch - a whole beetroot inside a bit of puff pastry. Add to that the price increase from £15 to £18 and you get a customer who won't be back.

The gluten free food was atrocious 🥹 Ordered and had to send it back the first time due to not listing all the ingredients of the meal on the allergens menu (not great) waited 25 minutes for it to come back out, with raw bacon, unmelted cheese and the same hard patty that had obviously been sat under a warmer for half an hour had gone rock hard. Didn’t end up eating it and paid £16 for the privilege. Serving staff seemed utterly miserable and disinterested too. Kinda put a dampener on the whole thing.

Beautiful pub and location food just bland

Have been for lunch today with family. Sunday lunch. Couldn’t eat the beef as it was so tough and overcooked. Couldn’t cut through the parsnips as they were hard as rocks. Couldn’t eat the Yorkshire puddings as they were dry and hard. Really disappointed all round considering the price. Spent almost £80 for food for 3 of us and would have gotten a better meal at a £6.99 carvery.

Overall, the food was okay. I had the fish and chips which I will say I enjoyed! Though my family weren’t massively content on their meals. We were all able to finish our meals of course, so it wasn’t offensively bad. The main points I received was a lacking a range or vegetables and one was quite lacking in meat. One of the major points though seemed to be a lacking amount of roast potatoes! Though like I said, the fish and chips was quite nice! We were served by a member of staff who is named Georgia. Very lovely and polite. Pretty great service! She made sure to check up on us frequently, though not too much that it would be annoying if you understand? Like it was just right. Overall pretty decent experience, could just do with a slight improvement on the food side of things though.

As always, great and friendly service. Pet friendly, and a great place to see some adorable dogs. Tasty food and a good view. Particularly friendly was Lainey who looks after us.

Delicious breakfast within and lovely outdoor terrace. I had dinner there once they could do with a few more selections of starters. As they were a little limited. But that's not the pub issue more the chain. The staff were lovely and great atmosphere.

Love this place. The food is lovely, the outside space is amazing, even has an outside bar when the weather's nice. Furry friends are also welcomed which I love.

We were a party of 8 after a funeral,the food took some time to come out,and unfortunately, one meal was actually cold,so it was sent back. By the time it came back, the majority had already finished their food.The food was on a whole good value,to be fair the staff were very nice.It was me and my wife's first visit,but will try again soon.

Nice atmosphere, great location and views. Unfortunately we came for food and so asked for and were given menus. We then proceeded to order and pay for drinks only to then be told we couldn't order food as they were too busy. This would not have been a problem if they hadn't had given us menus as we would have left and found somewhere else as this happens sometimes. However now we were stuck with paid for drinks

We had a lovely family meal here on Saturday 5th April 25. The food and service were amazing despite being very busy!Nicole was our server and she went out of her way to help.

Me and my partner went for lunch today. We ordered the signature burger meal and fish and chips. The burger was like a big slab of fatty bland meat, frozen chips and the fish had a crispy batter on the outside but the a fat soggy layer underneath and again frozen chips. The pub itself is clean and has a lovely atmosphere and the staff were very pleasant. It’s a shame the food isn’t nice.

Ordered steak and ale pie, when it came it was cold so sent it back. Second pie came and the pastry was like cement with very little filling. To be fair, they didn’t charge me but I was out for a night with my family and they had finished eating before my second cement pie arrived, so the evening didn’t go well. Servers were very nice but the food was really poor.

Table of 6 Saturday night. Very well looked after by Ellie, all menu choices taken well and attentive service throughout our meal. We all enjoyed our food. Very pleasant Manageress when settling the bill.

Booked a table 3 days before, 6.30 pm, Tues evening,when we got there we were informed no chicken or pork dishes were available , limited food ,ordered 3 fish & chips and steak pie / chips , fish was over cooked, and pie was dry, absolutely terrible meal, won't be going again, .

Staff lovely, attentive, friendly and helpful. Outlook is gorgeous with lovely views. Food was just ok, Chips were cold and steak tasteless and a bit tough. Such a shame because it is such a lovely setting.

Visited the Hare and Hounds for a Mother’s Day breakfast treat. It’s a lovely place but the adult food portions were very poor particularly the salmon and eggs very disappointing for the price.

The young lady who served us was absolutely lovely, I think she was working on her own so she was really busy but still kept up great customer service. Food lovely as always.

We came here to celebrate a special occasion and it ruined our evening. Firstly the toilets were disgusting. As you walk into the entrance hall you are met with a strong smell of urine. In the ladies only 1 of the three cubicles was working. When the food arrived the vegetables were tepid and the chicken had the consistency of dry shoe leather. We had to return two of the meals as they were inedible. A totally ruined evening.

My girlfriend and I had a lovely Birthday meal on the 17/03/2025. We a great time, the food cooked by Chef John was amazing and the service from Hannah was amazing too! Thank you both for making a very memorable birthday for us both. My only thing was I ordered a pint of Guinness from the bar and it didn't have a four leaf clover on the top 🍀 this would of been extra point but not essential. Thank you again Hannah and Chef John for a lovely birthday meal! We will definitely be back for other date nights!! Another thank you for the other staff, all were very welcoming!

First time ever been here ordered the food and waited for while to receive it on table service we asked for three Beef burger on a chicken burger with no bacon on it which is I have mentioned twice no bacon after awhile we have received the food on the table and finally end up with bacon on top of the chicken burger and when we give a shout to the staff and asked for the replace the food they take it inside and after literally two minute came back with the same chicken burger and removed bacon on top , Fry the same chicken burger Which is unacceptable. The chips was cooked twice and never taste good. the table uncleaned. never try again. Not really recommended to anyone.

Excellent food. Excellent service from start to finish. Friendly helpful staff couldn't do enough for us. Highly recommended and we shall definitely be back to try more from the varied menu. I had Steak and Ale Pie and it was truly divine. Full of meat, the right amount of gravy and the crust exactly how I like it.

Great service. It was busy, so there was quite a long wait for food. My son really enjoyed his meal ( hence the 4 stars ) but I was less happy. Perhaps I just chose the wrong main course.

Had a Sunday here to watch the sunset, service was top tier from Georgia. She was incredibly helpful and looked after the table, would return so long as it’s in Georgias shift!

Had a terrific pub lunch here on Monday 10th March 2025, great food and good beer, accompanied by a friend who lives locally and thankfully didn’t make me walk up the hill. Must be lovely as the weather gets better and you can take in the view. Thanks to Jodie, Hannah and John.

Average food toilets dirty and stank of ammonia lack of staff so long waiting times very unispired.

The views here are off the chain; you can see the whole Manchester skyline. Lovely beer garden, nice and cosy inside too. Top real ales on tap served by friendly staff. I only had bar snacks here but the food I did have was great.

Liked it here until the young dark haired girl with an attitude problem on a power trip made us move out of the “restaurant area”. There was no one there when we walked into the seating area and it was quiet so didn’t see the problem until she came over like “you alright? This is the restaurant area”. I looked around at the empty seating area and said “yeah we are eating thanks” and she turned her back on me saying “err do you have a booking??” The place was empty, come on have some awareness! And there was no staff there when we arrived to the area, so the attitude was not needed. We moved seats anyway, not that she acknowledged it. She then spent the whole time stood behind the bar gossiping. Ruined our experience sadly. Everyone else was nice enough but she was really rude. We were also told that they don’t serve food outside but then saw people eating outside? Weird.

Great service by Georgia, she was very attentive and flexible to our needs as we were a little demanding! Food was good, atmosphere good, would recommend.

Came in with my wife, son and dog on a Wednesday evening. I’m not sure if I said something to offend the lady behind the bar but I found her very unwelcoming and dismissive. I can’t comment on the food as we decided it would be better if we ate elsewhere.
