Just to commend Paige who served us. The best any waitress could be. Cheerful, Friendly, attentive, on the ball.

Dreadful meal. This was the second time i have been for a meal since the refurbishment. I will not be going again. The food was lukewarm and I would say was not freshly cooked. Like a fast food restaurant but expensive. It's a shame as the surroundings are lovely.. The server began by telling us all the things not available which included gardrn peas!

Great country pub for both food and drink. They'd run out of beef by 1345 on the Sunday we visited which was a bit disappointing but the food we did have was excellent. Great service from Ella who was very attentive to our requirements.

Sadie was great. I remember Sadie’s first night, she is still the lovely bubbly unassuming person she was then. Nothing is too much trouble. The food was tasty, thanks Ste. Keep it up!

We went for food and drinks and can not fault the place from arrival to leaving. The staff are all very nice,polite and very professional. The food was gorgeous, plenty of it. The price was not overly expensive, but you get what you pay for, and it was worth it. The surrounding area is stunning. The views are amazing.

Absolutely amazing food, service and all round atmosphere. Lacey was very friendly and helpful whilst serving us and made sure we were satisfied, very attentive young lady. Adam the chef cooked our steaks as specified to perfection. We would highly recommend and will definitely be visiting again. Loved the music that was playing too.

Had a lovely meal here for my sons birthday, Brooke was a great host and so friendly thank you for making it extra special for us.

Beautiful location however food was horrible. Honestly I have no idea why they ask how would you like your steak to be done if it's gonna be well done anyway... Great place for drinks only and to enjoy the food.

We came for dinner and everything was amazing, i had the seabass and my boyfriend had the beef burger. We shared the chicken to start and a chocolate fondant for dessert. The service from paige and hannah was great, they were so lovely and helpful. A wonderful evening meal.

Stunning location and view of Manchester. Amazing food and service. We had Sunday dinners - lamb, pork, sirloin steak. All well cooked and plenty of sides and amazing complimentary beer and butter. Ella served us who was brilliant and went above and beyond. Head chef was Owen. Food was amazing (bring back the lamb shanks!!)

Pan fried chicken was absolutely divine. Also had the salted caramel sundae which was well worth it. The atmosphere here is unrivalled and the service fantastic - special thank you to Hannah, Diane and chef Owen. Sitting in the outdoor garden with the music was a lovely experience on a sunny Saturday afternoon with friends. I'll definitely be coming back again and soon. Hare and Hounds is well worth stopping in when passing by and the view of the area from the garden is gorgeous. I'm definitely coming out to here more often in future. Can't recommend it enough.

I'll leave my original posted review for comparison. Recently had a marvelous meal for three plus dog! Been back again since too and up to same standard. I'm happy to say the review below must have been about a different Chef as it bears no comparison to present high standard. ...proud to make Hare & Hounds my "go to" places s I'd originally intended! =old review= I'd love to leave a rave review, I really would as I'd like to frequent this establishment regularly. Its a great pub and lovely atmosphere. Sadly the food this time let it down... We popped in on a late Sunday afternoon for a dinner with the dog. We look out for dog friendly pubs and this one is right up there. We chose the three meat roast dinner. There was a lovely showpiece of pork crackling but the meats were cool and tough. The veg so so, no mash, tired roasties, rather herbal gravy, and a Yorkshire pudding so soggy it was better eaten with a desert spoon. Desert took some doing as we had to prompt for a menu twice despite the place being reasonably quiet (<30% capacity). Bakewell tart and custard performed well and my cheesecake was delicious but came embellished with plantlife that served no purpose. Fifty odd quid for a Sunday lunch for two (and some chicken for the dog). Not bad but disappointingly I won't rush back. Which like I say is sad as I really like the place.

Excellent pub, service by Georgia and Joe was exquisite, really enjoyed the meal, 100% would come again!

Food was actually very good but the ‘crouton’ was inedible - chef said that was just the way it is - implied I’d never eaten one before. Someone is going to break a tooth! I dare him to eat one. Excepting the above - the cottage pie croquettes were flavor bombs. The veggie humus dish was enjoyable and the sausage and mash spot on.

Too busy for us to eat there so drinks only great views outside.

Amazing food and amazing view plus free parking

Lovely atmosphere, fantastic food, unrivalled view of greater Manchester. My kids love playing in the fenced off grassy areas next to the patio.

This place has beautiful views and was very clean. The beer tasted nice however sometimes took a while to get drinks due to large queues but it was busy so that is understandable. The food was mediocre at best at a very expensive price it also took nearly 3 and a half hours from from ordering to get are main meal this to me was not acceptable, however, they were extremely busy so I let that slide. However, when it comes to their staff, they were extremely rude One starter came out 25 minutes after everyone else is start a game out. We brought this to the attention of one particular staff member and put forward how we have been waiting. Nearly 20 minutes for the last starter when trying to put forward are point she rudely walked off completely ignoring us. Once bringing the starter out the same member off staff brought it over and banged the dish on the table and walked off. I would not return because of this.

Enjoyed a lovely meal for our anniversary, food was excellent and the portions were ample, so much so that neither of us could manage a desert . My only criticism was the ploughman's plate starter on the specials, nowhere did it mention that this was a sharing platter nor was the price listed. Even when we ordered two starters was there no mention that the ploughman's was for sharing. It was very nice but far too much for one.

We had a lovely lunch, food was very nice and the service from Georgia was friendly polite and timely

We just has a lovely family meal here! Couldn't fault a thing. Kids ate every last bit (which doesn't usually happen!) Will definitely be returning 🤤 thank you to Georgia who was very helpful x

Totally understaffed and big queues for drinks at the bar that stretched outside. Staff looked overwhelmed. Lovely pub and a cracking seating area outside with views over Manchester. Just need to spend more money on staffing levels or have a better rota setup, as people were leaving after 15 minutes of queuing.

Came in for a meal and drinks with my family on Thursday evening and was served by Joseph. Really pleasant lad who was extremely attentive and polite he is a credit to the Hare and Hounds. The food was also great too. Will definitely be back.

We came in for a drink and bar snack. The cask beers were out, so I went with an IPA. I ordered the sausage roll for £4.90 - expensive, but I was hungry. The 2" sausage roll was less than 4 bites and needless to say a big disappointment. Very nice pub in an amazing location, and I expect their mains are great. But don't order the sausage roll if you are hungry!

Not been here for a while after a few poor service experiences in a row. Gave another try as they are a Chef &Brewer which has a lamb shank cottage pie which is amazing! Pleased we went as was a great visit last week - food was spot on and the service from Georgia and Jaden was brilliant! Lots of checks on food, drinks and generally all round attentive and friendly. Very pleased and will go back soon! Will stick to mid-week evenings as quieter and service was totally different to busy weekends.

This place is nice for the view and a drink but for food I wouldn’t recommend waited so long for food and when it came it was not to a nice standard quite disappointing. My beef was to pink and so hard to cut though at parts.

Wanted to have breakfast today at Hare & Hounds this morning. According to their website, they serve until 11.15am. When we asked for a table for two for breakfast at 11.16 - we were refused! I could understand if it was 5 minutes after breakfast finishes as there has to be a cut off point, but to refuse to serve us at ONE minute after was really petty, said it would affect the dinners. It was Supervisor that refused us aswell.

Hare & Hounds is a great spot for a family meal, especially if you’re looking to enjoy a hearty Sunday roast. The roast was absolutely delicious, with tender meat and perfectly cooked vegetables. Our kids had the chicken burger from the children's menu, and they loved it. It's great to see a place that offers a dedicated menu for kids, making it easier for families to find something everyone will enjoy. The atmosphere at Hare & Hounds is warm and welcoming, ideal for both adults and children. The staff were friendly and attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed. We also appreciated the reasonable prices, which made the meal even more enjoyable. An unexpected but pleasant surprise was the complimentary bread, which was fresh and tasty. Overall, Hare & Hounds provides a wonderful dining experience with quality food, excellent service, and a family-friendly environment. We will definitely be returning!

Not been here for years but its still the place its always been. The food is top notch, service is excellent and the atmosphere is very relaxing, beautiful views and a very clean and friendly country pub. Well done to all the staff 👏 👍

The food that you make was absolutely rubbish it was a cannon bear to start at £16.00 then we just pick 3 starters we got toast burnt with the cannon bear which came to another £40.00 and it wasn’t good enough for the price that you was asking but we paid it but will not recommend the hare & hounds to anyone very very poor really you should be ashamed of yourselfs and the poor waiters getting all the grief as I think you have a very poor chef but please call me back as I’ve left my name and number on your voicemail.

Paige & Georgia made the experience brilliant with outstanding service. Smiles throughout, nothing was a issue and put us at ease. We are from Leicester so swt us up for our trip back home. Thanks guys, and if we are in the area again, we will pop by for another great meal.

A late afternoon visit, we got our favourite indoor table by the window. The food is standard pub food spec'd by head office but it's very well cooked and chef always manages my wife's requests for variations and on this day served a fabulous salad in place of chips. My wife also enjoys the wine here. I had fish n chips which were very nice. Served by Talia and Hannah, sorry didn't get (female) chef's name. Friendly and efficient as always.

Kudos to the team at Hare & Hounds! As a returning customer for last 8+ years it's so nice to see constant improvements in quality of food and service! We really enjoyed our last mid week meal and Joe has provided us with an exceptional service. Thanks a lot!

Cold food slow service and very pricey for drinks a tenner for a pint and a large coke go find your own knife and fork from empty try lovely place but need more staff and better service to justify prices however was refunded and an apology so think I might give it another go and put it down to a bad day but it wasent busy when we arrived

Lovely view. Nice interior. Staff very friendly. Small issue with food rapidly sorted. My mother may have given the impression that the chef was keeping us from leaving (she was lovely and we were having a very nice chat) but in reality my mother just needed to catch a train.

Very disappointed. Ate outside, renovation lovely and inviting. Waitress really good and friendly. I was really looking forward to eating the bakewell tart after main as I had had it before, albeit about 12 months ago, and it was lovely then. When it arrived it didn't bode well as the appearance was that of a pale custard tart not a bakewell but I tried it, still anticipating the taste of what was expected. Wrong! It was very bland and undercooked, no flavour or texture and the pastry was hard. I asked the more senior waitress to come to the table. All I wanted was to point out it wasn't good. I was very quiet, polite and respectful but her attitude wasn't good, her tone was quite aggressive, just pointed out it was bought in, just warmed by them and was properly cooked. Wasn't customer friendly at all, seemed to take personally. I was offered something else but refused. She then walked off. I just think they need to change their supplier and speak properly to the customers.

Great location and lovely staff, however do not buy the salads here. We paid £16 for a chargrilled peach and Brie salad. The peaches weren’t chargrilled and it left me wondering what they did with the rest of the ingredients…

Went early evening as the weather was warm, it was busy but still enough room to sit outside. There was music playing.. in the background..ordered food and was served by a lovely girl called Brooke. She was very attentive and checked we had everything we needed. Extremely welcoming and friendly. Definitely an asset. The food was lovely and portions were good. Couldn't fault anything. I didn't meet Helen, the Landlady/manager but she's definitely got the place running perfectly. We will be back. Thank you

Lovely views and staff kind but the food really lets the place down (esp for the price). At £20 for a Sunday Lunch main you'd expect quality, but not any better than Wetherspoon's food, and that's being charitable. Anemic, soft roasties; overcooked, dry chicken; mostly hard, undercooked garden peas. Roast carrots were reasonable and only thing I enjoyed. In the end was removed from the bill so can't fault the staff, but don't think we'll return for food unless there's improvements as its not worth the disappointment and answering the "Is everything okay with your food?" question and feeling bad about giving our honest answer: "unfortunately, not".

Went for the view but had a couple of drinks too. Proper cosy traditional pub inside, with the best view of Manchester. Plenty of parking, and places for walking around.

Popped in for a lunch today with a 6 and 7 year old after a swim at Hyde leisure centre. Hannah our server was brilliant! really attentive, nothing too much trouble even when the kids asked for more cheese on their already cheesy pizza 🍕 food was nice and bar area relaxed and welcoming. Views also good despite the June drizzle!

I’ve coming nearly every week tonight’s food was awful sirloin came with blood in it even though I asked for well done then came back it was tough full of fat and grizzle it was awful . My husbands mixed grill egg was not cooked it all looked like thin off cuts worse mix grill from here he has ever had I wasn’t asked how our meal was because I would have told them it’s actually put me off from attending again glad to see someone else’s review tonight stating food was awful and 9 chips I’ve come home to have my tea as I’m hungry
