Hare and Hounds Pub in Tingley in Leeds

Second time we have been now- the first time my family came to visit from a couple hours away and they requested that we book hare and hounds again as they loved it so much the first time! Food is amazing and really well priced. The staff are all so lovely and accommodating. 10/10.

Great pub, very lucky to have this gem as our local, the staff are lovely and the owner is warm and welcoming. Great atmosphere in the beer garden, nice for Sunday lunch and drinks whilst watching live sports. Love this place

This a great pub with fantastic food,have enjoyed each visit. My only criticism is that I've been on some days we're food not been available .

I was very impressed bu the Hare and Hounds when we came in for a family meal between Xmas and New Year 2024. They got everything right. I had the brisket burger which I literally inhaled it was so tasty. Others in our group had the lasagne, and various pizzas and everyone loved their food. One of our family is gluten intolerant, and the bar staff were sympathetic to her needs and knew what was suitable and what was not from their menu; no dramas at all. Very refreshing to find a small local pub this good. Highly reccommended.

Just celebrated new years here last night...Great pub with a brilliant atmosphere and despite it being absolutely packed, the staff and organisation was excellent...

I really like it, the food and beer are really good, and my dog is welcome too.

Had a funeral tea here and they couldn't have been more helpful and buffet was really good

We had a large family gathering here yesterday and despite the numbers, the food was faultless. The staff couldn't do enough to make our visit the very best, especially helping my 91 dad getting to the marquee after the meal and even put his shoe on when he left it at the table! Made to feel so welcome both in the pub and afterwards in the marquee. Very highly recommended and will definitely be back!!

Absolutely fantastic! We booked & was in the marquis at the rear of the pub which was very homely, sofas with cushions & throws, several large Christmas trees and heaters. Pods in the garden too. Food was also amazing.....good value too. Was highly impressed & will definitely return 👌

Went last night, the staff in the outside area were attentive, polite & very nice. Lovely food and really enjoyed the cocktails, last orders were called so the staff advised that we could go indoors. We were served drinks and sat down to be confronted by a member of staff who said our attire wasn't allowed. The lady in charge chose to stand by our table, hover round us and ask to drink up. We questioned our attire to be spoken to with such disrespect and discrimination all whilst others in sportswear were allowed in. The lady replied with ‘its not the vibe I want’ turned her back & refused to answer our question about this policy. Shame really when we had been given top service by the staff outdoors, really hesitant to return now.

Booked a table here 2 weeks in advance and on arrival the staff had no idea we were coming. Table was initially booked for 8, luckily only 5 could come as we had to be squashed onto a table for 4. Staff then pestered us about the booking, insinuating that we were at the wrong place or that we hadn't received confirmation of the booking. I showed them the emails in the end and that seemed acceptable, but still no apology. Food was acceptable, but service was incredibly slow. Pizzas were brought out 2 at a time with around 5 minutes between them and the final pizza was brought out around 15 minutes after the rest. The staff actually came to ask if the food was okay before my pizza was even delivered and I had to point out mine hadn't arrived. The pizza was okay, but most of the vegetables on top weren't fully cooked through. Following the food, we stayed for another hour or so but didn't get anymore drinks as the staff all seemed to migrate to the other side of the pub and weren't seen on our side of the bar again for the rest of the evening. Overall, I don't think I would be in a hurry to return I'm afraid.

Lovely outdoor area, clean & well kept. Unfortunately the small carpark is a problem the overflowing cars on the road can be an issue.

Fab food, brilliant happy staff and great dog friendly venue

Massive marquee style room at the back of the pub which holds several parties. See through domes with fairy lights outside as well as outdoor tables. Large gas heaters in the marquee. Leather sofa seating with blankets. Must say tho that the sofas must be ready for replacing as they get that much use they are firm anymore and its difficult to get up once you sit down.

We had the seafood share platter for 2. It was amazing,very tasty and plenty of it,more than enough for two. Great pub with a fantastic outside area.

Love this place. Many different areas to the pub to suit peoples varying tastes. The bar prices are on the expensive side but they clearly put a lot of money back into the place. The garden area especially is beautiful. We also had home made pizzas, the meat feast one and a vegetarian one and both tasted amazing.

we stopped off her on our way to our holiday after reading the reviews of the lovely food. Unfortunately we were told they only serve food Thurs- Sunday which was a shame we were not the only people to ask for food whilst we were there

We had my daughter's 40th birthday here, absolutely loved it! The staff were super, really friendly and helpful. The buffet was incredible, so tasty and definitely more than our guests could eat lol Even better that they had a live singer on part way through...we had a few children so we were booked from 3.30 till 8pm, fabulous!

Sorry to say, love the pub had food before, but went Thursday with family, my wife had steak pie, son in law had chicken skewers both happy my self and daughter had chicken burger and cheese burger both very disappointed very dry bread was hard no garnish, sorry still will come back.

Second time stopping here after a walk from Ossett. Come on a Sunday both times and it's been pretty busy inside. Sat outside at the back and had a drink and a pizza which are fresh made and baked in the outdoor pizza oven. Pizzas are great and pretty cheap too. Also not a lot of pubs serve Tinothy Taylor's Knowle Spring which is one of my favourites.

First time visited and was amazed. From the front looks like a normal pub but out the back they have another bar area that is just beautiful. Staff all very friendly and food was great. Will definitely visit again

Couldn't believe how much this place has expanded since I last called in. The outside facilities are brilliant and the pizzas are very reasonably priced.

Great service ,great food in a nice setting

Jacqui and the team have worked hard over the years to make the Hare and Hounds a great place to visit, eat and drink at. During Covid the pub went from having a small outdoors to now having a huge outdoor pavilion with plenty of comfy sofas, giant bubble dining areas for cosier eating and recently added a bottle and shots bar in the vastly expanded beer garden. There's regular entertainment, live music and comedy included plus big screen TVs for any sporting events. The menu is very diverse and the food always of the highest standard.

We had our wedding reception there Saturday 13th July absolutely amazing Food which was exceptional atmosphere amazing and the staff so professional customer service 100% and Jackie fairburn made us feel special on our special day, thank you to everyone for making our day one we will always remember will definitely be going again and recommend to anyone wanting a special occasion to celebrate keep up the excellent work ❤️❤️❤️

Attended a party in the outdoor covered area, plenty of seating, heaters, and an outside bar with toilets. Also has a lovely area as well for weddings or just to sit in large outside beer garden on picnic tables. Great service. Didn't try the food, but people couldn't recommend it enough. Hidden gem.

This place is a little gem, friendly staff, fantastic food at a very reasonable price. I had a wood fired pizza and I can honestly say the best I have ever had, plenty of toppings - just how a pizza should be. The wife had teriyaki chicken kebab which looked amazing. Will definitely be coming back again and again and again 😉

Lived near the pub 20 years and today when visiting I popped in. Didn't disappoint. Massive outdoor seating available with wonderful views. Service a little slow but it was busy. Won't wait 20 tears to return!

Brilliant pub, highly recommend it! The atmosphere is lovely with plenty of different places to sit, good value for money, great service - they answered the phone quickly, we were seated and catered to well and the food came quickly. It was very busy as it was a sunny Saturday so there were some waits to order at the bar, but totally understandable. The car park is small so if full, street parking looks a bit tough. We took the last parking space.. The food was ok, but very well priced. Will definitely return again, it's super dog friendly too, very happy overall thank you :)

Got a beef sandwich it was perfectly cooked. Nicely presented £10.50 with chips and salad.

Attended a family members Gender reveal party yesterday and had a wonderful time. Location, staff, room dress-up, food and atmosphere were great. Would definitely go again. However, the locals threatening to call the police when I was legally and considerately parked, on a public high-way was way too entitled!. Didn't spoil my day though.

Brilliant Sunday dinner. First time we've eaten there. Won't be the last! My son never leaves anything but the triple meat beat him ( only just!) Fantastic!

Lovely pub, my niece had a birthday party here, and the food was amazing. All I will say is it gets VERY busy on a weekend,so don't go expecting to get sat down. But this shows how popular the pub is. The gin is presented very well with ice, fruit and a little flower. Just an all round great pub.

My local, my favourite, the outdoor area is delightful, the pizzas are so yum, the bar staff and owners are great. The lodge is super cute and cosy with all the gas fires going and blankets to snuggle under. Drinks selection is top class. Pub quiz is a lot of fun. Can't fault it.

Wow , what a deceptive pub . Walk through to the garden and you'll be met with pods with blankets to keep you warm . A shed with real heaters and another bar ( added marquee) . Really attractive space . Well done .

Last day of February. So an indoor meal. Very impressed with the outdoor spaces on the way in. Good food at lunchtime. Great service, though it was not very busy. Choice of lounge or snug. Proper pub grub in a proper pub. Beer, was really 👍

It's really disappointing to leave such a poor review but I can only rate it on the experience we had. We were booked in for 4:30 so arrived at 4:20. The service was clearly strained due to being so busy - however, they only have around 8/10 tables for food so hard to understand why they can't cope. The starter was fantastic, mushroom soup was really tasty but we waited too long for it. Then we waited nearly an hour more for the main - by 6:05 we'd only had the starter which given our booking was for 4:30 is poor to say the least. However, looking at the food which was coming out, we thought it would be worth the wait. Home made Yorkshire's, nice looking roast potatoes, the whole thing looked amazing. What we received was completely different. Clearly we'd received the dreg ends. We received 1 roast potato per dinner, a tiny portion of mashed potato, 1 tiny frozen Yorkshire pudding and a huge portion of stuffing. Personally I went for the roast pork with crackling but received no crackling and the pork was pure fat (literally). They did provide me with a lot of chicken as a backup for this. To receive such small portions of the main ingredients of a roast is unacceptable in my opinion. I have to say, what we did have was very tasty which adds to the disappointment really. The staff were pleasant, the main lady in charge was a delight and very friendly, the place has a nice atmosphere. They just let themselves down badly. The way it was handled was the main disappointment. They should have just been honest and said they'd run out of food and we'd have accepted their honesty and known what to expect. To make us wait nearly two hours for half a main course is again, very poor. The whole experience was ruined. We were offered a round of drinks off the bill which I refused out of sheer frustration, annoyance and not wanting to accept an empty gesture at the end. Such a shame as we thought we'd found a local place we could visit time and time again. Sadly not.

Fantastic warm welcome from Joanne. Come sofa's in the marqee with lovely warm heaters.Felt like we were in Covent Garden. THE FOOD was delicious and reasonably priced. Will certainly return.

Lovely environment, warm and cosy, nice helpful and approachable staff, I had the signature chicken burger but sadly it was a bit dry 😔 I'll defo be back though cos this hasn't put me off!!

Great pub! Went for Sunday lunch and although they were fully booked they have plenty of space to sit and you can still order a roast in a box. Also tried a pizza from the wood fired oven which was also great. They pour a good guineas too. Huge amount of outside seating with some unique pods.

Love this place! Just had celebrations for my 50th birthday and all my friends and family were really impressed with everything too.
