Harbour Fish and Chips in Mid Sussex

What an amazing chippy, as a proud northerner for some 50 years or more, I’ve eaten more than my fair share of what I thought the North had to offer, and to be honest I wasn’t sure so far South, that this could be done. Well, I take my hat off to you here, from the military method of frying exactness and excellent customer service to the crispiness of the chips and the utterly amazing accompanying battered Lemon Sole and lovely tasting mushy peas. I enjoyed, both fried items without a single hint of grease on either item, and all served cooked to perfection. Thanks again for an amazing Chippy Tea. I’ll definitely be back.

Very disappointed! I ordered large fish and chips. It looked like small fish and very few chips! It is not a place for portions anymore. I am a regular customer! Last week I went to ship street their branch at it was same situation. To be honest it’s test better then few places I have had. Very disappointing today.

I was extremely disappointed... Harbour view london road felbridge advertising themselves as award winning, Unfortunately I thia was not my experience i had what was supposed to be a large chip at £4.25 ( I live close to this chip shop) when I got home the chips were definitely not a large portion and were luke warm and looked liked they had been recooked. Needless to say I will not be returning.

Had the cod freshly cooked to order by Simon. Lovely chunky pieces of flakey pearly white fish wrapped in crispy batter. Nice chunky chips and plenty of them. Simon and his team are always really helpful and everso friendly I could use the local (to me) fish and chips but I feel it's worth the journey for perfection.

The last time I will buy fish and chips from this establishment. The most tasteless chips I have ever had and dry fish. Not worth the money.

Food not bad, worst one by far tonight though. Fish and chips was bagged up then she decided to ask the kitchen for my saveloy...10 mins later it was finally ready....Staff are just so bloody miserable.

Worst one we have had. We get delivery a lot and it seems like they have massively reduced their portion sizes. Also overcooked tonight and overpriced for what we got

Travelled a bit further to try the fish and chips . It was well worth it. Ordered the special "jumbo" haddock which was fabulous. Lovely flakes of pearly white fish and beautiful crisp batter. The big fat non greasy chips were great too. Jen and the boss and all the staff are really friendly. Will definitely be back soon.

We’ve tried a lot of fish and Chips places. This one is our new favorite. Here are a few reasons why. 1) portion sizes: the fish is huge. The sack of large chips was big enough to feed me, my wife and my teenage son. 2) didn’t sacrifice quality: fish was fresh and their homemade tartar sauce was excellent. 3) Customer service: the couple that runs this place is so friendly and generous. Offered some free extras just so we could try some of their new stuff. Love this place and we’re going back as soon as we can

Just not consistent. On a good day the meal can be absolutely delicious but can also be very poor at times. The last 2 times we ordered large cod and recieved ludicrously small portions that were also quite cold. Fish very flat - mostly skin and batter. I also love cod roe but now never order it here as they charge £3 for a portion not even a centimetre thick - very poor value. Generally quite expensive for not very generous portions.

Have given this place enough chances, but it is so frustrating when you order and confirmed a collection time, to have to wait outside (in the cold) for an additional 15/20 minutes! Tonight my husbands cod was smashed to smithereens during the wrapping process. No point going to East Grinstead chippy, it’s owned by the same people. Why don’t they continue to fry during busy periods and have large, medium cod etc,. In the hot plate on the counter (like other shops) must be easier to just take one from there when the collections are due! Quality ok but have had better.

My husband and I order fish and chips at this place quite often since 2016. Once a month. Last time we order just before christmas, then its lockdown. This place change a lot and have high standard of cleaning. I can tell the way they prepare the food in the kitchen. They way they packing also using very good standard. I like the idea they change the packaging using box. Its even look more professional and food temperature will keep longer. I feel save and ordering food from here. This place always have customer even during lockdown as I often pass this place whenever we went out. We decide to start order the food from outside after lockdown relax, and fish & chips is our 1st option to try. We miss it a lot. And very happy they have new varian menu (spicy chicken) It’s taste delicious. Good for snacking (friend while i watch TV) and as always i order fish and chips and sausages. We tried most of the menu there and probably only fish cake is not really suit me. Other than that are fabulous. The staff are soo friendly and they know how to manage the customer to follow the health protocol. All good. When i was there, there are 7-8 people que outside. So basically we were safe to order dood from here. Hope the business back to normal soon so everyone will happy and more relax to order food.

This has to be a joke thought we try their new chicken on the run. NOTHING like it was advertised, not even the burger bun was the same as the photo. The chicken from the McDonald’s burgers is better. I also received dry chips. Would NOT recommend. If you want chicken go to KFC it’s literally better and that’s saying something.

Perfect fish and chips my favourite is Skate absolutely perfect. The best fish and chips you could wish for and value for money.

Excellent fish and chips, Fish a good size and well cooked. Ask for the chips to be double cooked and then they are crispy.

Have now had 3 takeaway meals in June & July covering cod, plaice and huss (rock salmon) and all have been excellent with really fresh fish. Also excellent and cheerful service.

So this was our first visit to Harbour Fish and Chips in Felbridge as we usually use the Harbour Fish Bar in town,and don't usually like to change but being owned by the same people we decided to give it a go! And so glad...

Today’s cod was absolutely perfect. As fresh as though it had just been plucked from the sea. Very light and tasty batter plus superb chips. Highly recommended.

Best fish & chips we’ve ever had. Not at all greasy and I’ve not seen cod so white. We usually eat fish & chips 2 or 3 times a year but will now have them much more often. Well done guys.

A bit worried when they changed hands recently but the quality of both fish and chips has improved; just love the carryout boxes - a great idea

Very disappointing. Dry & hard chips. Fish tasted like it had been reheated. Pie had a hard crisp lid. Been kept hot too long. Battered sausages could of been better. Last visit here for me.
