After returning our daughter from Cornwall to London to recommence her uni studies, we happened upon this charming little restaurant. The service was wonderful and the food superb. Will definitely use again

If I didn't write this now, I may never have done ! After eating in the restaurant, solo several times,I loved the food, certainly not the ambiance. Tonight? My biggest regret , over half the meal went into the waste disposal. Ordered at 19.20 arrived COLD at 21.00. gave post code and address 3 times , plus telephone no. Amazingly the delivery guy couldn't reach me after going on a 5 mile detour , restaurant is half a mile away. Even heated up, it was vile, absolute disgrace, I'm still wondering if Happy Villa in Child's Hill, has a sister restaurant. This gets minus 5 stars. I feel sick. Oh and they only accept cash!

Freezing cold - there is no central heating. they bring a little electric heater to your table!!! Absolutely no atmosphere in there what so ever. The people who work in there have scarves and sweaters and coats on it's so cold. Unreliable opening times. They seem to open as and when they feel like. I was there at 5pm a couple of Sundays ago (when it says online that they open) and they weren't open. Kitchen looks dirty. I have only ever had takeaways from there and they have on two occasions got the order wrong. Last time they got it wrong was a couple fo weeks ago. They asked for me to bring the wrong dish back (spare ribs). I said no as it was freezing cold but as they had got the order wrong they were more than welcome to pick it up from my house (which he did admit). I told him I couldn't eat what he had sent as it had chilli in and i don't eat chillis. He knew me and said not to worry - the next time i come in he would give me a free order of the correct spare ribs. Went in today & he point blank refused. He said "the policy" is that i have to return the wrong dish!!!!! Not sure that that policy is written down anywhere and, if that is there policy, then clearly they make that mistake all too often if they actually have a policy regarding wrong orders being made!!!! I reminded him of our phone conversation where we agreed i didn't have to bring the dish back but he still said he didn't say what i said he had. I wasn't going to argue over £5 or whatever it was but if thats the way they want to treat their long time customers then they wont be getting my business ever again. If they want to focus on policies then maybe they want to focus on a heating policy, a cleanliness policy and a good manners policy.

I believe that this restaurant can improve the way they function in terms of service. As I ordered my dish however, it took a while before i could enjoy the dish. overall, it is a nice restaurant but however I believe their could offer more than just what they have given me.

We have been to Happy Villa several times and never once disappointed. Service is always polite, friendly and understated. Menu has great solid choices all at excellent prices. The food is so good and all freshly made.. the squid with chilli and salt, the duck in black bean sauce, too many others to mention. I look forward to many more visits for a long time

We tried Happy Villa for the first time to see how this place compares to other chinese takeaways in the wider area. Having tried takeaways from Edgware to Cricklewood to Childs Hill and Finchley, this was a pleasant discovery. The place was small, clean and had a steady queue of orders being readied. The service was by a charming steady elder statesman who managed to keep everyone happy and did not seem at all stressed even though it was clear that he had slightly more orders waiting than would have felt to be comfortable. Having ordered far more than we had thought we needed, we managed to devour almost the whole order probably more down to how tasty the food was than to our hunger. Overall the takeaway was very good value without compromising on the taste. We will be getting more from here most certainly

The chef had finally retired and is selling the restaurant. However Hee's Take Away is still open across the road. That runs as a separate business under the brand. Farewell to the restaurant.

Was just a quick stop to grab lunch as the prices are reasonable and the food is very very good. Only thing on this day was the fact that I ordered sweet chilli chicken that had just finished as was

Normally really good, but the quarter of duck had no meat on it, just fat , enough for about 2 pancakes only.
