I miss Hong Kong-style milk tea, the taste of Hong Kong.

When you walk into the store, it seems like everyone is Hong Kong! Everyone seems to be speaking Cantonese, so I tried to use my less confident Cantonese when ordering. The waiter didn’t reply to me in English because he didn’t understand! (Very happy) The boss is very nice, the price is very good in the UK, and it’s delicious! If I have the chance to come to Manchester again, I will try it again!

The dry-fried beef river is delicious, and the hot milk tea is delicious. It has the taste of a Hong Kong tea restaurant. I will order it again.

The food is average...poor. It looks like a takeaway shop catering to foreigners, not Hong Kong style at all.

The frozen milk tea and red bean ice were excellent. Once you drank it, you knew it was from Hong Kong. I ordered Yangzhou fried rice. It was fried very dry and I liked it. It is worth recommending🥰

Today I went to the Happy Valley restaurant with my friends. It felt so authentic and Hong Kong style. I ordered the dry-fried beef river and corn meat rice. The beef river was so wok-flavored and the white sauce was also very fragrant. The Hong Kong-style milk tea was really Hong Kong. style, after asking about it, they really use Hong Kong tea. It feels very professional. Their service attitude is very friendly. I sincerely recommend it to everyone.

The curry beef brisket had a few bits of minced meat that looked like the head and the tail. I had to add another one. The beef was worse than the first time. I won’t help you again.

A pretty cute HK style cafe. The toast could have had a little bit more condensed milk but it was okay. I have no complaints about the drinks. The owner was attentive.

No curry smell. Beef brisket is not considered brisket. I had a hard time picking up the left side of the beef tendon, but I don’t remember getting one or two pieces wrong. There is a 10% surcharge for unmarked service 😂 The first time is also the last. Report completed

I've been hearing people say this restaurant has good food all day long, so today I tried it by turning on the two clocks on the left and I found out... I'm disappointed and I won't be eating there again. I arrived at the shop as soon as it opened and saw that there was only one seat available. When I entered the shop and asked the staff who was there, he immediately asked: "Do you have a reservation?" Of course, he didn't say anything! Come to think of it, you have to make a reservation when going to a tea restaurant. I know that many British restaurants ask this question, but when I went to a tea restaurant opened by a Hong Kong person, I felt weird when I heard this question. . As for the food quality, it's really average and not hard to eat. My name is Zuo Typhoon Shelter Salt and Pepper Pork Chop Rice, er...... a lot of fried garlic, if you call it Salt and Pepper Pork Chop Rice it is acceptable, but it must not be Typhoon Shelter😅

absolute top class Hong Kong food - satay beef noodles is a must-try! Unfortunately the restaurant was freezing, I understand it’s costly to keep the place warm but it did affect overall comfort

The food is delicious, with a Hong Kong flavor. The entrance is very spacious, and the stools are comfortable to sit on. There are many food choices and the waiters are very friendly.

The stir fried beef flat noodles was excellent! Other food was just average. The pork chop was dry and tough, and the deep fried chicken leg was small and not juicy as it should be. The place is small so better make a reservation before you go. We have waited for more than half an hour for a table on a Friday.

That five-spice pork cubes is so good I ate a western toast together. The peanut butter was enough. I also tried their frozen lemon tea. It’s almost like Hong Kong.

Nice Hong Kong style food so closely resembles the original Typhoon Shelter Salt and Pepper Pork Chop is so delicious! The fuyong eggs are so filling! The most correct one has a plastic drinking tube, so I got the lemon first. Less sweet and less ice ~ that’s right!

Honestly, how good was the food when it first opened? Although the price is not affordable, it is still worth helping. However, the quality of the food here has declined. Even the famous curry beef brisket, the shredded beef brisket is soggy, is very different from what other food reviews say. The service attitude is of course average, so this is the last time

Quick stop on the way to Manchester airport. Food was lovely, I especially enjoyed the French toast in Hong Kong style! The owner was very very kind and brought a taste of home whilst being away for a while.

The roasted pork and tofu is very delicious. The best tofu and pork belly rice I have ever eaten in Manchester.

There weren't many customers in the restaurant, so I didn't know what he was in a hurry for. Some people may think this is nothing, so forget it. 2. When checking out, my husband and I worked at the cashier for a while. The cashier was a little impatient and said: Order? /What do you want? (What's wrong?) I'm not disturbing anyone else, am I? There weren’t many customers at that time. I don't know why he is so impatient! ? All in all, fellow travelers are not too shy It doesn't matter if I'm a Western guest. When winter comes in the UK, the days are short and the nights are long. I always crave comfort food. When I come to Happy Valley, I always order egg white rice or curry beef brisket rice. Tonight, I ordered beef brisket rice. Set menu, eating the familiar taste, chatting with their staff, relaxed and satisfied😊😊I have to worry about getting up early for work tomorrow💪🏼💪🏼

If you want to try authentic Hong Kong cuisine, Happy Valley is one of the best Hong Kong restaurants in Manchester. Highly recommended!

The most underrated Hong Kong cafe in Manchester! Beef stir-fried spaghetti is so tasty and fresh!

Today at 2:30, I went with seven relatives and friends. My friend's name was West Toast. He gave me butter toast and asked him if I was wrong. He asked me if my friend wanted 93 or 83. We didn't want it. It's about remembering the number. If the waiter wants to eat, he will ask for another one. Actually, our name is West Toast. If you double confirm the number, we won't know. After that, I asked for a drink and told me the number. A male waiter asked me to ask for a drink, but it was difficult for me to tell the number. In fact, I weighed 140 pounds, and everything seemed normal when I checked out the order. The male waiter asked me to go back to the store, and it seemed like I didn’t have time to check in. I felt so bad that I thought I was back in Hong Kong. In terms of food, the Hou Beef Brisket is a bit salty, other foods are normal, and the red bean ice is really a lot of ice. The overall feeling is that the service really needs to be improved.

Very interesting to see an ‘authentic’ Hong Kong restaurant have a 10% service charge. The food was fair, nothing special, and a bit pricey. Won’t recommend unless you really miss Hong Kong food a lot and willing to pay £15 per person for food and drinks.

Never have been so homesick after having dinner with Happy Valley!! I have ordered the fish there and they made a soy sauce in a nice way;) also I have tried the Red Bean soup which is famous in Hong Kong dessert ( traditional way ) and I can taste they have added “陳皮(chan pei)” a dried orange peels inside it!!! Which is very nice 👌🏼 and overall I have been there about twice now and I can say their food and service is excellent 💋 xxxx

Ordered 2 bowl of noodles for me and my friend. Mine was good because I ordered the add on sour and spicy soup. My friend's one was tasteless.

I had a great time at the restaurant—the food was delicious, and the service was excellent. However, an unfortunate incident occurred when I was leaving. My car was parked in the back lot, as the designated parking spaces were very dirty, with lots of trash scattered around. When I returned to my car, the exterior was covered with insects, so I used a tissue to clean it off. Unfortunately, one of the tissues accidentally fell on the ground. I admit it was my mistake, but since the area was so filthy, I didn't want to pick it up. At that moment, the person shown in the picture approached me, claiming the land belonged to them, although I didn't think that was true. They accused me of littering. Just as I was about to pick up the tissue, they started taking pictures of my car, so I took a picture of them in return. I asked them, "If you're so concerned, why don't you clean up all the trash around here? My car was covered in insects because of the garbage, and I wouldn’t have needed to clean it with tissues if the area were clean." While dropping the tissue was my fault, I didn’t deserve to be spoken to so harshly. I was frightened by their aggressive behavior. So here’s a word of caution: if you plan on dining at this restaurant and parking nearby, be mindful of this person.

This is a good place for people who crave for HK Char Chan Teng food. Satay beef is one of the good ones that I would recommend. I have to highlight the HK style milk tea☕️… Brilliant 🤩

The food is getting better and better. When I first came here, the peppery taste was too strong, but fortunately it didn’t reach the point where I won’t do it next time 😂; but recently, there are more side dishes👍🏻. Today I had Yangzhou fried rice, which was beyond my expectations⋯⋯ The results are overjoyed, very good👍🏻, I hope they will continue to improve! 😊

Tried their new Zhuhou beef brisket and curry beef brisket side dishes. The brisket was very cooked and both sauces were cooked well! My husband thinks the curry is a little bit spicy, but I like the richness of the Zhuhou Beef Brisket! The price of £14.8 comes with rice and canola. I think I have eaten at many other Hong Kong-style restaurants.

After looking at the ratings and seeing the pictures, I was a bit disappointed. I ordered Curry Jelly Pork Chop Rice. The pork chop was so flat that it looked like a big piece, but it was so thin that I couldn’t bite it off and felt like I couldn’t eat the pork chop. It was fried into a mouthful, but it needed a little overcook, and the crispy skin was a little hard. I found it hard to eat. The lemon tea was normal. My friend's curry beef brisket rice was average, but it wasn't as attractive as the ratings said.

Not a bad place. I've only been here once and not to sure I’ll visit again. I ordered sweet and sour and for some crazy reason when it came it was spicy! I've been eatog sweet and sour for 20+ years and this was a first. They did rectify it, but….. Good job I’m not allergic to spice! I just don't like it!

Good portion and value, a nice Hong Kong-style cafe to try some Asian food. The menu can be a bit hit or miss. The salt and pepper pork was great, but some of the Western-themed dishes were not as good. The shop is not big, so call and book in advance would be a good idea.

This is quite a special find. It’s located just on the edge of the city centre (about 15 minutes walk from the Arndale). The food, service and atmosphere were fantastic. We tried the Chicken Steak Rice Noodle Soup (8) and paid £1.50 for hot and sour soup base which was delicious, the chicken was so tender. We also tried the beef tendon brisket with rice (17) the beef melted in your mouth. We finally tried the Singapore Fried Vermicelli Noodles (46) the noodles were a perfect texture, being the right amount of chew to softness. The portion sizes were v. big so we took some home. The meal came to about £50 which is very reasonable for 3 full meals between two plus drinks. For drinks, we had the Hong Kong Style Milk Tea (Cold) because it’s summer - if you’re a fan of strong milky but sweet tea this hits the spot, The food quality was great, the food came out fresh and hot and all within 15 minutes despite it being busy. We had a great moment shared with Ivan (a regular customer) and his partner who both went out of their way to recommend some traditional Hong Kong dishes - forever thankful to them! Highly recommend this cafe to anyone! The food was too good so apologies for lack of photos.

Food was very tasty, 100% hongkong taste, I ordered a cold lemon ice tea (凍檸茶)which taste a little bit sweet but still taste very good. Staff there was very nice. Would definitely go there again. ☺️

Bonafide HONG KONG style cafe Finally !!! …I felt nostalgic on the first sip of HONG KONG tea sitting in this cafe took us back to the streets of Tsim Sha Tsui . Very clean set up and the service is quick . The food didn’t disappoint at all. We ordered the kimchi pork rice and the Beef Ho Fun both were delicious. Portion size is great too . We only found the ice lemon tea too strong (next time we will request for it to be made weaker )

We had the sweet and sour king prawn, chicken stir fried noodles and, salt and pepper pork chop. They all tasted amazing with decent portions. The salt and pepper dish is especially outstanding in a way that the flavour offers a certain level of depth with the magic of deep fried garlic and caramelised onions. The members of staff are friendly and prompt in addressing your need. Would definitely come back again!

The flavour was great and the pork chops were really huge😳 If you like Hong Kong flavour, please try it Most of the staff are Hong Kong people but they can understand you in Mandarin and English, so don't worry, there will be no communication problems.

They should’ve let us know items that are not available on the menu and we would’ve left. But never mind, I decided to try out other items on the menu… My soup noodle had no soup, tasted like msg, plus the noodle was undercooked. Restaurant itself looks nice and clean, seats are comfy.

The food is normal and acceptable. The five-spice diced pork tastes ok. The toilet is clean but full of clutter. The location is convenient and easy to find, next to the prison. It takes about 10 minutes to walk to Victoria station.

We visited at dinner time 7pm and it was full house. They are available for booking and walk-in. I like how much choices they have and everything tastes better than expectations. The price is affordable and the place is very clean & tidy. There’s also a parking lot at the back of the restaurant. The staff is nice and friendly. Basically it’s a nice spot for family and friends!

I had some delicious food here with some of my friends. Very attentive staff and they amended my order to not have any cheese as I requested. They also had a great selection of drinks, the pineapple and sprite Hong Kong style beverage was delicious! Thanks

As soon as the Xingzhou fried rice arrived, I was the first to call. Not only do I know the taste of returning to Hong Kong, but I also need to eat well. A cup of frozen lemon tea and frozen milk tea are both delicious. If you are homesick, you must come here.

Wanted to try this place out after seeing some food pictures on Google review. We ordered beef ho fan, rice noodles with beef brisket, dumplings with noodles and chicken curry with omirice. Total came to around £57 (cash) or £63 ( card) with drinks. Only downside was to me the food tasted bland. Needed more flavour. Portion side is generous. Service friendly and plenty parking. I would visit again but I would choose a different dish.

There is a 10% service charge. It is 10% off compared to cash and the price is reasonable. Except for the diced pork chop and noodles on the left, the diced noodles are good. The pork chop is very old, the five-spice pork diced noodles and the diced pork are chewy, and the pork belly rice and pork are chewy. Good firewood, the old rice is always frozen...the best is a cup of frozen milk tea.

Super authentic Hong Kong style diner! Brought back great memories. Food is really good, it’s noisy as it should be! The Hong Kong style French toast is brilliant, oily and delicious. The noodles were great too. Will go back, proper hot comfort food on a cold day. Recommend reserving or going early to avoid disappointment.

Bustling little HK style restaurant, was packed at dinner time so had a little wait despite pre booking a table. However food still came out fast and tasty. I really enjoyed the curry beef brisket rice. Filling and decent value. Salt and pepper chips were great for sharing.

Luckily we managed to get a table relatively quickly and the service was friendly and quick. We ordered the red bean drink, milk tea, beef brisket noodles, curry beef brisket rice and beef hor fun. I recommend the drinks, all very authentic and deliciously made. The curry beef brisket was very fragrant and flavoursome(a little bit of the fatty side though), and would have been nice to have just a bit more rice. The beef hor fun had the usual wok hei and tasted like it had the correct ‘charred flavour’. I would not recommend their soup noodles, lacking flavour and no real broth flavour.

The drinks were alright especially the coffee with tea '鴛鴦'. The food was served very quickly soon after placing the order. If we need be to absolutely critical, some ingredients were cold/luke warm, which made us questioned about if those were freshly made. The taste was fine though with great service offered. Would not recommend.

Absolutely love this place, such a hidden gem! This resto has such a friendly vibe unlike some of the restaurants in China Town... Food was excellent, extremely quick but came in piping hot! The Hong Kong style milk tea and the red bean drink was amazing too not too sweet. Definitely worth revisiting multiple times, if only their location is slightly closer to town !!!

The taste is in line with expectations for a Hong Kong-style tea restaurant, and the portion is sufficient. It would be better if the cheese baked fries were made with thicker fries.
