Happy House Chinese Take Away in Gwynedd

The menu looks fantastic, so we decided on our takeaway. My husband chose the ribs and I just fancied a portion of chips. The ribs were quite good but the best bit was the sauce, my chips were disgusting. They had a funny taste, some were hard and the rest ugh! The best bit was the salt.

Curry sauce carton slipped out of my hands which resulted in too much curry sauce on my chicken fried rice They should take further precautions to make sure this won't happen again Food was lovely though 10/10 would visit again

This is a lovely family run business . I’ve been here before few years back and now I’ve decided to order some lovely Chinese food again. This evening I ordered the Sweet and Sour Chicken , Fried squid with herbs, and fried rice . The food smells absolutely Devine . So much flavours that makes you want to eat more and more . Can’t wait for tomorrows dinner already. 🙊 Lovely food .

Honestly it was inedible - I had a tray meal which was noodles, rice & bbq sauce - the rice was like rice pudding, the noodles were undercooked & the bbq sauce was not bbq sauce. My partner had chicken chow mein & spring rolls, the chicken chow mein was again inedible because of the taste and spring rolls tasted like aniseed - couldn't eat any of it - all went in the bin - I would avoid.

I ordered deep fried crispy veg with sweet and sour sauce, when I got to eating it was just a tub of orange mush like basically raw batter and veg which tasted off, definitely wasn’t deep fried there and then and has left me feeling sickAlso the dipping sauce with mixed starter tasted like orange sherbet which was also grossAvoid this place like the plague - never normally go here but it was the only place open on a Monday - truly disgusting and disappointing, will never waste another penny here

Happy House had good food and the staff are polite only flaw is that they don't deliver I wish they did I would order much more often

Definitely recommend Happy House, under new management the place has improved immensely. Consistently good food and generous portions.

Best Chinese in North Wales, always clean, always the right order and the nicest food! Lovely staff, go here at least once a week!

The food here is really nice considering their prices. Very cheap and convenient for a takeaway. Will for sure return soon.

I have tried most of the Chinese takeouts in Bangor, desperately trying to find a local, go to. Gave Happy House a go, one night and was pleasently surprised. The fried rice dishes are all decent. My bf likes the duck, Salt and Pepper Chicken. Crispy Won Tons are also good. The only dish I have tried that was terrible was the Chow Mein. It was very saucy(should be a dry noodle dish) and vermicelli noodles were used instead of egg noodles. Yet to find a Chinese take out in Bangor that has an authentic chow mein, hence why only gave Happy house 3 stars.

The food here is so good, I stick to where I like, we've tried a few around Bangor, must say every time we have food from here it's never a let down no matter what dish you order, plus when they give you a time when it's ready, it's ready!! Would definitely recommend.

Décor very dated and not very clean we should have walked away then. My husband had sweet and sour pork. The pork was bigger than golf balls, the batter wasn't cooked on the inside and was soggy. The pork was obviously what you buy from cash and carry places frozen in uniform chunks. There was only a sauce to pour over the top no onions, vegetables or pineapple. I had chicken curry. The chicken was obviously the same as the pork in tiny cubes and the curry sauce was sweet. We both had just a few tastes and then threw it away. It was a total waste of money and to add insult to injury they had the cheek to charge extra for chips and rice which should be included in the meal. Needless to say we wouldn't recommend it and certainly wont be going back there..

Enjoy getting my Chinese from here regularly, always excellent quick service and food, well worth visit.

We had a takeaway from here recently. What I realised is the quality used to be much better, which is still not bad. But I hope it'll get better again!

Was recommended to go to the happy house, glad we did, plenty of variety on the menu, enjoyed food so much, that we preordered meals for the following Saturday, the chips are also great,

The quality of the food has rapidly declined here and the prices have risen. There are so many better Chinese takeaways in the area

Yo siempre uso este chino como... bonito grandes porciones me encanta la sal y la pimienta chili son patatas fritas tan sabroso... el curry me encanta y no demasiado caliente y no demasiado suave es un buen medio. Siempre estoy lleno y satisfecho después de este lugar

Chose this chinese after another one in Bangor dropped it's standards. I call it a cheap and cheerful Chinese as there are better ones around but for the price, you can't beat it. I always enjoy the food I get from there.

Random stop here instead of shahin. .never again..opted for the special curry & fried rice..."BIG MISTAKE ".holy moly never have I tasted such an awful curry & I've eaten a few in my time..tasteless curry & meat was awful..would have been better eating ghandi's bloody flip flops....tuff wasn't the word..avoid like the plague. Even my dogs turned there nose up at the meat..
