Happy House in Bolton

Would of been quicker to get an ambulance, Tesco delivered our drinks 45 men's before food both ordered at the same time. Quality was cold food thanks.

I wanted to take a moment to share some feedback based on my recent visits to your restaurant. I have previously enjoyed the service at Happy House, but my last experience was quite disappointing. During that visit, I found the chips to be undercooked and overly sour. Additionally, the hot king prawn dish did not meet my expectations, and I experienced a significant wait time for my order. While I appreciate the efforts of your staff, I believe there is room for improvement in both food quality and timely service. I hope this feedback helps in enhancing the overall dining experience for all customers.

Always great food, salt and pepper wings are easily the best around!

Awful food, the worst. I bought Sweet and sour King Prawn balls, duck and cabbage spring rolls and half chips/rice. It was truly awful and inedible. The king prawns were hard and rubbery, the batter they were in was cooked on the outside and raw and wet on the inside. Same with the spring rolls, a mushy mess on the inside. I binned these and just ate the average chips/rice. I'm presuming these items are bought in frozen/ready cooked and just quickly heated up to serve as they were so wet. The service is strange too, screaming women on the counter.

Best chinese takeaway in Bolton. Very clean and hygienic. They don't do deliveries at the moment. Can't wait for that to happen. You can order your food online or by phoning them. Oh, and it's worth every penny you spend cos food is just top notch.

Sad to say the noise of the women screaming and balling behind the counter and impatiently dealing with orders started the night off wrong . Everyone was leaving shaking their heads . Two of our meals were fine . But the chicken fried rice dish was appauling . The shredded chicken was like chewing blotting paper . Very dried and chewy . Tried to ring numerousvtimes but couldnt get through . With respect l wish the young man whose english is good would take the orders . It was a very difficult order to placewith the lady shouting and speaking very fast down the phone and not listening to my order properly .

Been going here for many years and never had anything bad rate it very high.

Honestly the sweetest people ever! I had am issue with my food, and they replaced it no questions asked. They apologised multiple times as well, and because of this I'll be buying from them again! The food is also top notch. We got chicken chow mein & Thai Pan and I could not recommend it anymore! Absolutely delicious! 10/10 food and customer service!

The food here fluctuates between good, very good and excellent. I tend to be boring and stick with my usual dish (S&S Chicken HKS with egg fried rice (you can take abbreviations too far). I've never been disappointed yet. The other dish I got for my partner was Shredded Chicken in Chilli Sauce. Usually this is excellent, but it has occasionally not quite been up to Happy House's usual high standard. The staff are friendly and polite, but usually busy, so don't expect small talk. It's best to place a telephone or online order first, otherwise you can be in fire a bit of a wait. How've, the other customers are usually quite friendly which helps the time pass. They do not deliver, but do now accept cards. Hopefully, I'll soon be able to update my grade to 5 stars across the board.

Waited 1 hours and 19 minutes for order. Husband read order back when collecting she said it was all there. Got it home 3 dishes missing. Absolutely disgraceful will never step foot back in again. Shocking

Ordered food at 6pm told it would be ready at 7pm.Went to pick up at 7pm not ready,sat in car till 8-20pm waiting for food wont use again

Awful Takeaway ordered on Uber eats. Waited 90 minutes for the food. Called the shop because it hadn’t arrived to be told “we don’t deliver there”. Well why did ubereats accept the order and charge me £5 for delivery. Instead of agreeing to provide the food they just cancelled the order. Terrible.

Ordered via Uber eats. I phoned to see where my order was after 1.5hours and they cancelled it saying they was to busy. Meanwhile Uber eats took the full amount for the order. The man I spoke to was very rude and unhelpful. Never again will I order from here

Best Chinese in Bolton, been going for over 15 years. Don’t live locally and always go in area or sometimes even travel Good quality has dipped on a few occasions but go on a Saturday when busy and fresh top notch food

I rang to order food at 4.45pm, happy house opens-5.00pm. The salt and pepper box was overcooked. All meat was either rubbery( chicken) or like a brick( beef). Im guessing we must have had the previous nights left over meat. I expected fresh food, seeing as I was the first customer after opening. I won't be having any more salt and pepper box. Its a shame, previously this was superb, as this is their flagship dish, or at least it was.

I have been coming here for many years and this was the first time I have been disappointed. The Singapore style chow mein was not. It was flat noodles and chicken in a gloopy clear sweet sauce. No hint of curry, chillis or any real taste. Just chicken, sauce and noodles. The egg fried rice was just plain rice. Finally the chicken in satay sauce was an almost identical sauce to the chow mein, again tasteless. I don’t know what happened yesterday, but very disappointing.

First order from here after eating with a friend who regularly orders. I thought my local was really good until I came here. Ordered almost £30 of food over the counter and was fresh and hot in 15 minutes. It was very busy when I went in to which is always a good sign. Will definitely be my go to now and well worth the 5 mile round trip to collect. Keep it up guys. Excellent!

I don’t normally leave reviews but this was appalling, chicken was very chewy, heavily over spiced and the chilli chicken was more like sweet and sour. Next time I will wait for Jennys house to open…£20 down

Can’t knock the oriental side unfortunately it’s not open Friday. I ordered my food and the husband ordered chicken omelette. Unfortunately it was not a chicken omelette more like scrambled egg with seriously over cooked chicken which was rock hard. So upset with it he returned it back to the shop. No apology just his refund literally threw at him. Poor customer service and maybe lessons in cooking omelette required?? Oh and when he originally ordered the food they gave it to the wrong customer he had to run to their van to get it 👌

Literally the best Chinese takeaway I've ever had! The salt & pepper selection is to die for! Been coming here since it opened and the food never fails to impress. Staff are fantastic. Food cooked in an open kitchen with the freshest ingredients.

Got the salt and pepper wings. They were tasty but insanely spicy. Way too many chillies used, found myself picking some of them out as the spice overwhelmed the flavour.

looked at the reviews for here and the ones I saw where good .I ordered chicken chow mein as soon as I opened the tub I new it was fake chicken pumped full of water and other things I didn't eat any of that rubbish but the sauce and noodles in the dish were OK .

Phoned the order at 6.10pm. Told it would be thirty minutes. Arrived to pick up at 6.45pm... Had to wait outside till 7pm for it to be ready. Sadly this is a recurring issue. Order 61 ready before 59?? Go figure. Fortunately the food was amazing.

Favourite place for excellent Chinese food.

Hands down the best Chinese I’ve EVER had!! I travel from Manchester every other week just to eat here. Fresh and hot, crispy chips and they actually make it how you want (I ask for less oil and extra garlic and chilli).

The Bento boxes/ Oriental side of happy house is just fantastic, the manager is always there giving brilliant customer service and making all The food fresh. If there is a little wait it’s just because everything is so fresh! Would highly recommend!

Happy house 🏠 very good very hot when you get your food . So it's very tasty and it's always full with people waiting out side or sat in there 🚗 and someone brings it out to the car for you .

Great Take around great Manchester area , used to travel from Salford to come get a great Chinese here now , I’ve moved up north towards Burnley way I still travel here to have a great Chinese takeaway, that how great the quality of food and service is . Absolutely 10/10

Had to return a dish that was not fresh and had a stale smell. Absolutely appalled at their response. As a first time customer, I certainly will not be going back there. Instead of apologising and offering me another of the same dish or an alternative dish, i was made to feel as though I didn't know what I was talking about. Even though I had informed them that all the other food I had purchased was good except for the one I was returning.

Full of salt couldn't enjoy it honestly like a full bag of salt was poured all over it rang and ask to change it with less salt and they would do anything about it told us we are not a regular customer so they won't sort us out disuting

The food was ready quickly and every dish we had was fantastic. I had wontons, brilliant followed by Chicken with pineapple, sticky, sweet, lovely. Chicken Chow Mein, wonderful. Well worth a visit.

The food is good. It's the waiting I can't stand. If you order via telephone you are given a number and a time that it's ready. On average you can be waiting 20 -30 mins. Today is a new low. I've been waiting 45 mins and still no sign of mine.

Ordered last night, got 3 meals, rice, chips, prawn crackers - total bill £20.30 Food fantastic - best chicken balls ever> will definitly be visiting again. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. EXCELLENT.

Cannot beat Happy House for quality Chinese food. Never disappoints. Salt and Pepper chicken outstanding but try some of the others too. Loads of hidden gems on the menu. And the bento box is a gret deal if you want to try a few different dishes

Been going here for 15 years and always excellent food. This place don’t need to deliver, people (like me) are willing to travel to them to get good food! Also, the idiot complaining about not taking card, banks charge for card machine facilities - why would any business man want to share his profit with the bank! Takeaways are like horses for courses, you have your favourites and this is one of mine. If you’re unsure, go elsewhere and then I won’t have to wait behind your order!
