Portion size is amazing and I was pleasantly surprised by the prize. Cheapest and biggest Chicken Fried Rice I’ve ever bought!!

Absolutely disgusted called to say something was wrong with order was calm and polite and was told to shut up and listen to him I'm so blooming angry spend £39 and don't even get free prawn crackers would avoid food wasn't even warm

You won't get a better soft tender beef dish than here at the happy garden fantastic food and very reasonably priced

Salt and chips are serious heart attack material had to throw them in a bin.

Just eaten the worst Chinese meal of my life, first thing wrong...waited about 2 hours for delivery, next thing I noticed...spent £27 not even a free bag of prawn crackers, next.....opened container and the beef chow mein smelled like one of my kids nappies, next, the crispy noodles were basically freeze dried noodles in a bag, completley tasteless and plain, next...chicken balls overcooked, next ....chicken satay as if it was out of a jar from Asda, simply awful, i left halfway through eating and resorted to eating pringles to take the taste out of my mouth .....avoid at all cost!!!!

Just got a 21.10p mega munchies box got it cold no prawn crackers food was very disappointing small food parcel in a mountain of chips certainly won't get that again back to canton I think better the devil you know

Ordered here all the Time. Ordered in Saturday didn’t have my order even tho was placed on app. Food eventually arrived…. 3 items missing. Called they denied it even tho I paid for the full order. Calling me a liar!!! AVOID AVOID AVOID

Being going here for 15 years, however something has changed in the past weeks/months. Tried calling a few weeks back and after 10 mins on the phone trying to order a Chicken Curry, gave up and never bothered ordering as they couldn’t understand what I wanted. Decided tonight I would order online to avoid confusion - estimated time 40 mins. After 1 hour gave a phone, again much confusion, couldn’t find my order and needed time to phone back. Phoned back to be told it was enroute and will be with me soon. 30 mins later and no food so phoned back to be told again they would have to phone me back as they didn’t know where it was. 10 mins later they phone back to say that they will have to make my food again - not too sure I believe this was even on its way. Food finally arrived - now just over 2 hours from initial order. It’s a real shame as the food from here is really good, but the service has just become unbearable. Will now be looking for another local Chinese.

This used to be my favourite Chinese but after last night's experience will be looking for somewhere else. 2 hours for a delivery, phoned after an hour and 20 minutes and they hadn't even started cooking. Not even a sorry! Food was so much more salty than usual, sweet and sour was quite runny and didn't have as much flavour as usual. The beef curry was nice though and the ribs had lots of meat even though they were salty.

Excellent takeaway food. Best Chinese food I've had. Highly recommend. Fantastic, lovely staff and very hygienic from when I collected on a few occasions. Delivery is typically very fast or on time and as I said, staff are so lovely. Food is delicious.

Unequivocally the worst chinese takeaway ever. As a regular customer of Happy Gardens, I am dismayed that the standards have plummeted through the floor lately. Every item in the mixed combination starter was over-done, dried-out and hard. The quarter slice of prawn toast was a struggle to cut through, the pancake roll and curry puff were just little parcels of greasy pastry, which clearly they buy in frozen at minimal cost. The skewer of satay chicken was tasty but dry and hard, and disturbingly, we paid extra for the single chicken wing and single spare rib, to be made salt and chilli style, despite there being no cost difference if you order them separately. They both arrived without salt and chilli. The chef's speciality mixed meat garlic and chilli had no garlic taste whatsoever, and consisted of 70%+ vegetables, three small slivers of beef, two small lumps of char sui pork, two prawns and the rest of the meat made up by cubes of processed chicken, which was tasteless and served in a wattery sauce that never thickened up even after a night in the fridge. The chicken was so bad, I wouldn’t feed it to an animal. Chefs special ??? My ARSE. The side-dish of fried rice, which they have the cheek to charge £2.40 for, had clearly been put in the container hours before and left in a warm oven, as it was dried out and horrible. The side-dish of salt and chilli noodles, at £4.40, were cold and in the container the seasoning was accumulated on the noodles at some areas but not in others, and therefore made the noodles appear burned. The onion rings, although edible, were very greasy, had burned bits on the batter, and were far from the usual Happy Gardens standard. The only dish that was acceptable were the salt and chilli king prawns. They were just as expected, and quite lovely. The takeaway was very busy, although I fail to understand why , if they are serving such slop, but busy or not, there is no excuse for such awful service and product. If I had wanted greasy-spoon standard cafe food, that is what I would have gone and bought, instead of paying these jokers £30.00+ for a takeaway for two. Happy Gardens. ?? …. Seriously unhappy customer !!! BTW, I sent this same review to them, over 2 weeks ago, and they haven’t bothered to reply

Food was nice. Generous portions! £21 for all of this. Small portion of prawn crackers free. Fed 3 adults and enough for a 4th. Char Sui fried rice was nicely done but too much fat on the meat, plain noodles smelled and tasted a bit burned,🧂 & 🌶 chips are good, curry with onion and plain fried rice lovely. Taking a couple of stars off as the place looks quite dirty. The red curtains look rank and the ceiling… 🙈 don’t look up, it will put you off your dinner 🥘 needs a good scrub!!!

if you are looking for Chinese Orange Chicken, this isn’t the place, it’s literally an Iceland Frozen Chicken Breast in Orange Juice :|, also Portion to Price ratio isn’t it either

It’s ok, salt chilli chips big chips are always good, chicken curry portion nice size. Always busy at the weekend but for a takeaway it’s good quality and prices well

being using it for years. Good is good but service at times can be absolutely shocking. Walked out last time after waiting nearly 30mins for an order inwas told would take 10mins and was completely ignored. Reluctantly going elsewhere now.

Sweet and sour chicken cantonese style..eurgh, bland , small portion and as chewy as a really chewy chewed thing. Majority of it went in the bin.

Placed an order for collection, went and picked it up took it home and they gave me the wrong curry so I phoned them back and they guy (who could barely understand me and I could barely hear him) told me they would deliver the correct thing to my house... 5 mins later I receive a call from them telling me that they won’t deliver it unless I paid he delivery fee otherwise I would need to pick it up, so I had to go down meanwhile my dinners in the house going cold and they try to give me the wrong thing again...furious isn’t the word £20 it cost for a cold dinner shocking

Really nice team. Clean kitchen and good food at a reasonable price. Special green Thai has lots of meat and not shredded to bits. :D

I ordered duck and pineapple and it was disgusting. Didn't look or taste like duck.

Let's be CLEAR on this review. As a family of 6 adults....we were big fans of Happy Garden for a long time. I ordered a meal tonight. Roast duck..noodles..mushrooms..and a won ton starter. No.1 temperature was lukewarm on arrival. (We only live quarter of a mile away. This was delivered at 2225hrs. It's normally served hot) No.2 The portion size of duck was miserable. Also...Just little strips instead of slices. No.3 The wonton starter was a small portion also. I suppose the deep fried mushrooms and thick noodle portions were par. But ALL the food was not served hot, as they have done in the past. However, as former fans...we will not be ordering anything else from them. With all the choice of carry out food in this day and age, you are only as good as your last order.

Always order out of this Chinese when having a takeaway . Although the meals are really nice I feel the chips let the meal down as they taste and look like reheats everytime I get them . I haven't left a review before thinking next time it will be better but ordered a meal tonight and yet again the chips are rotten !

Poorest customer service ever.. non of them speak English and they keeping taking the order wrong them they blame it on you.. never to order..

Best chicken curry I've had in this area in a long time. Sauce was amazing! Not too hot , not too mild, just right 🍲😋

Called up for a delivery of a few different things, delivery was about 15-20 later than was told. Then finally arrived and wasn't happy with the portion size we got for chips and cheese it was to be a large portion but was more like a small kids like portion and then hardly any cheese, called up to complain (calmly complaining and advised the portions be a bit bigger especially for the price asked) they said that's the way they come we says it's a ridiculous amount of chips for a large portion and says we were not happy with the service or product and that we wouldn't be willing to order again and they says that's ok thanks anyway. (Not even tried to resolve the issue or a sorry etc) . Bad customer service, bad product not worth the price asked. Delivery guy was kind and no issues with him good guy he was.
