Happy Garden Chinese Take Away in Rotherham

Called as they was not far off closing , happily obliged with my order , brilliant service, absolutely lovely people , definitely recommend x

Not sure if new owners but that was the worst Chinese food iv ever eaten. The rice was like rubber and chips tasted like they were from yesterday warmed up in microwave. Odds on I'm feeling bad tomorrow because that meat tasted and looked dodgy. Dont like to leave bad reviews but this was that bad it needs saying. Iv left loads if ya want to pick it up for any pets.

Me and my boyfriend were fancying some Chinese and everywhere was closed, so I searched up a place to go and happy garden came up. Woman was really nice on the phone and the delivery man was the nicest delivery person I’ve ever met because he seemed so happy and friendly. We do recommend this and will be ordering back again

Love this Chinese. The shop doesn't look like much but the food and portions are excellent. One of the best in Rotherham in my opinion

Should have read the reviews before because jheeze they are true, ordered dry ribs absolutely not fit for human consumption, brown dirty tasting egg fried rice with no egg, dry left over chicken in a sauce that cannot even be explained, stale prawn crackers, the whole lot went in the bin, called them up to rude abrupt unhelpful staff all screaming and shouting at each other passing phone from person to person reported them to rotherham eats and environmental health, no refund, no apology nothing MEAT MAY HAVE COME FROM AND UNKNOWN SOURCE AVOID AT ALL COST 🤢

Don't order first thing at opening times, you get the previous last night food. Not freash enough very fusty smell to it.... order after 18:30 when they have got rid of the last stuff left in the pans from the night before.

Orded to pick up ourselves was told 20 minutes, I had to wait a further 15 minuites in the shop for the food. Then a mile or so from the shop my partners phone rang saying they had forgot to put in the rice, back we went, nothing free, nothing offered by way of apology, poor. When we finally got home with the food the house special chowmein had very little meat in it and one prawn yes just the one. We also had crispy duck that was like chewing gum it had no colour to it like it had been boiled and was 50% soft fat ??? Worst Chinese I've ever had, longest I've ever had to wait and then to have to go back for forgotten food without anything by way of apology just isn't on. 2 out of ten at best. Last place ill ever go.

Ordered yesterday, was told 20 mins for pick up. It took 35, which isn't so much of a problem but there's a big however coming... Long story short, they forgot the rice, I had to go back. No apology, nothing free, poor. Should have been free spring rolls with my order, guess they forgot them too. Prawn crackers, not very prawny and verging on stale. Here's the biggy. So, I thought I'd try the crispy duck. I'm not sure how they cooked it, but I'll take a stab at boiled. I've never ever seen anything quite like it. It appeared to be grisly slithers of grey meat, we'll go with boiled and sliced, with the rubbery skin still on. Nowhere in this little box of mess could I find anything that remotely resembled a crispy duck. So, to top it off. Total waste of money, long wait, poor service, worst food I've ever encountered. Will I give it another go? Not a cat's chance in hell.

Just had a special fried rice, beef in Shanghai sauce and in both dishes the meat was sparce not a touch on what it used to be with the owners before. And tasted like the work oil was being recirculated and never being renewed. I won't be recommending or using again, sad because the previous owners had built up a good business by serving quality food.

Curry sauce was a flavourless blob in a tub. Chicken and mushroom wasn't value for money at £5.20 was very little Chicken, only thing that was enjoyable was the pancake rolls and salt and pepper chips.

Was not happy with this food one of the worst ever especially the cogielled curry sauce disgusting all went in the bin

Lovely food do exactly what you ask extra chilli not a problem other Chinese takeaway do not listen never make extra spicy definitely order again

Used to be ok & keenly priced, but wow,,, the last delivery was a joke , small, dried up portions, like a bad school dinner

Order was a bit late but forgivable. the food is nice but wow it’s very salty. I love salty food but it’s a bit overboard.

Not bad food 30 minutes later than expected, chips too crispy and curry sauce top smashed and leaked, rest of food ok.

Worst ever meal, have had takeaway from here before, not the best but gave them benefit of the doubt. Tonight they excelled themselves. Had foo young, must have had an egg shortage, special fried rice! Boot leather and whatever other scraps they've found left in the dog bowl as for prawn crackers never experienced anything like them. I have never left a review before in my life but was that disappointing it was a must!

The shop isn’t much to look at but does that matter when they sell great food.

Love the food, definitely the best in Rotherham. Delivery times are suffering a bit, probably because of popularity.....more delivery drivers please.

Food was hot and fresh best I have had in a while.

We order and pick up ourselves. Never had a problem. Great fresh cooked food and good value. We have been going for years and will continue to do so.

Very disappointed with the response. After 40 minute wait and called again was told would be a further 20min at least. Won't use again, unfortunately!

Don't go on just eat if you can't handle the orders just spent half hour trying to put an order through they kept going online and offline then took an order and cancelled it thanks for the mess about.

Good food, but often slow because of the number of phone and online orders they have.

Just down the road from me but I'm lazy & I order! I have not had any problems with them & my food has always been fresh. If you wan't something delivered within 30 minutes then order a kebab or indian where the food is usually pre cooked & heated up to order. Chinese make fresh on the day so if you wan't quality, you have to give them a bit of time! No issue's what so ever & it's my only play I go to when I order. Never liked Jade Garden before, they used to just cut up fish sticks into my crab meat soup & didn't even bother to remove the wrappers! Happy Garden, best Chinese for me!

Now happy garden under new management- lets just say I was less than happy!! Waited 1hr and 10 mins for delivery only to recieve the wrong order, when I rang to report this the lady asked me what I wanted her to do....obviously send the correct order I was then told they would send a replacement, another 40 mins later and I am still without food!! Will not order from here again!!
