Happy Garden in Southampton

Shops a bit run down but the couple that runs the take away are good, one down fall they would rather you paid cash if its a small oder which I font always have food good.

Ordered house special curry with egg fried rice and chicken chow main not sure what they have put in place of my house special curry but it definitely isn’t what I ordered too late to pick the phone up so I’ll just leave a negative review instead won’t be using there services again

Been ordering from here for the best part of 6 years with minimal to no issues. Tonight we ordered delivery and part of our order was missing. I phoned to complain about the missing food, the phone was passed to 3 different people who couldn't seem to understand that food that I'd paid for was missing and became very rude and aggressive. They have now lost a loyal customer.

Best Chinese takeaway we go to.

I have been getting their mix special chow main and schezuan dishes for a while now and the quality and quantity is very good! Travelling around the UK and abroad for me their special chow main here is one of the best 🙌

Best chinese i’ve ever had to be honest i recommend the kung pao chicken it’s like sweet and sour it’s delicious.

Food very average. Had sweet and sour pork, however the sauce tasted of strawberries. Not pleasant. Service was good however

Ordered my food with no welcome. Than a finger was pointed to a sign, Not having my glasses on asked what was wrong then was told I had to spend £15 to use a card. I was ordering 2 dishes more than enough for one. Having no cash which is more than common these day I had to leave as I couldn't pay for the food ordered. 1/ customer service non existent 2/ £15 minimum spend hideous, I appreciate it cost them when we use a card, therefore add it to the cost at source. 3/ i felt discriminated for being a person on my own.

Ordered takeaway for delivery, it was meant to be delivered within 45min, but we have waited well over an hour. When food finally arrived, it was all soggy and not crisp. Disappointed.

Best Chinese take away in the locality

I keep reading bad reviews regarding this takeaway but I gave them the benefit of doubt! Their food is good and was ready on time will use again

First time ordering. Food was not very hot salt and pepper chicken and chips was very bland and had a hair in chips wont be ordering again.

Perfect food every time without fail!, friendly staff, always extras added in to your menu choices and freshly cooked food! Good to have a Chinese that does chicken chow main without bean sprouts!

Was horrible egg fried rice had no egg never order the satay chicken as it's just plain chicken sat in dirahia sauce and the salt a pepper chicken is pure batter with no chicken overall avoid for a Chinese as they ignore phone calls too.

I’ve been using this takeaway for years . They’ve recently replaced their staff . Now I’ve been charged for £2.50 delivery when I’m only in Hedge End . Yet it states £1.50 when your over 3 miles away . I’m 1.5 miles . Queried it . Guy says I’m too far . Crazy . I won’t use them anymore.

First time ive used them, overall not bad. The chip's were not great if im honest and the chinese chicken curry had no mention of containing mushroom's but bar that it was ok. I would use again but i will try other's first.

had a delivery for dinner tonight and the chips wasn't cooked properly and they weren't cooked fresh I spoke to the manager and he was rude so I definitely won't be using them again

Literally the best Chinese in Southampton I'm yet to find any on par with happy garden if you guys are reading this then keep doing what you're doing no one's doing it better than you!!!

Will never order here again rude woman put the phone down after they messed up our order. No sorry, no resolving really bad customer service. Avoid and go to others nearby

Nunca he tenido una mala comida de Happy Garden. Siempre comida caliente cuando se entrega. El personal de la tienda y el personal de entrega siempre son educados. Excelente relación calidad-precio. Se recomienda que el menú fijo sea para dos (alimentos 3 - 4). Cerrado los lunes, así que de vez en cuando pruebo en otro lugar si me apetece la comida china, pero no he encontrado ningún lugar al que prefiera quedarme, así que siempre vuelvo a mi favorito.

Reopened yesterday and had a takeaway tonight. Best one yet! Tried a new dish, roast duck in plum sauce! It was fabulous! Well done guys, stay safe in these hard times but please wear masks!

Love this Chinese quick delivery and there chicken balls are the best not burnt or chip shop batter the real deal , there meau deals are very good

AVOID AT ALL COST Terrible food, appalling customer service. Food arrived late and everything was stone cold ended up in the bin. Called to complain and they came round and made us go through our bin to get it all out before swearing at us and walking away without resolution. Terrible!

Lovely food, but why have a number on your website if your not going to answer it .. beyond a joke been trying to call since you opened yet when you finally get the ringing tone it gets cut off... youve just lost a customer ...

After using this take away for a long time, we received an awful meal which cost me £35 all of it on arrival was cold, called up to tell them it was cold, i was told id get a free meal next time i ordered, when i called to get my free meal i was offered £4 of the total price of the meal!!! An absolute disgrace and will never use it again

Recently moved nearby, so thought we would try out the nearest Chinese which I was worried about as Iam so fussy. Well happy garden didn’t disappoint in the slightest, haven’t ordered from anywhere else since. Great tasting dishes and always consistent which is key. 👌🏽

Phoned to place an order. Was asked to hold 25 minutes later after listening to her take orders from people coming into the shop she put the phone down. Phoned back to be told that she said hello but she could not hear me. What for 25 minutes. When I said are you not even going to aplolgise she put the phone down. So rude never ordering from there again.

Buenas raciones a un precio razonable. Llamé con la orden y recogí la comida. Esta fue la primera vez que comimos desde aquí. Yo recomendaría las bolitas de pollo agridulces y las costillas. En general, es una buena comida china. Nómada lo peor, pero me gustaría, sin duda, ordenar desde aquí de nuevo. También hacen la entrega dentro de un cierto radio.

Don't get the chance to use this place as much as I'd like to but whenever I think of a decent Chow Mein, this place is at the top of the list. Service is always great too.

Poor service, more interested in telephone orders than the customer stood in front of them, waiting to pay, whilst food obviously ready, and food wasn't worth waiting for after all, We won't return .

Have used this Chinese since we moved here 13 years ago. Food is consistently good and staff are friendly and helpful. Wouldn't go anywhere else.

Ordered my Chinese from here since I was little and never had a problem. Always used pick up and never had a problem with cold food or rude staff. Not sure what the other reviewers are talking about. Tastes great to me! Only given 4 stars because I've never used their delivery service and a larger portion of rice would be appreciated!

So I went in to collect phone ordered food as its only a couple of minutes walk from home collected food and got home to find a chow main with literally a couple of pieces of chicken in it,warm ish chips and a so called satay sauce which I can only describe was like watery soup and smell discusting. I called them straight away and try to explain which turned into argument and I said I'd bring it all back and was agreed.so I walked round quickly as I was hungry and just wanted it replaced and found they had just disappeared and gone home after agree for me to exchange for fresh. I only gave one star as no option for zero. Absolute disgrace!

Tasteless and expensive and when your food arrives it is cold . I certainly will not be dining from here again
