China Wok in Southampton

My friend and i both got food poisoning. The hygiene must be appalling, never again. Do not eat from here

I ordered food on the china woke app to be delivered for 8pm when I get home from work, it got delivered at 6.45pm while I was still at work. I phoned up china wok to be left on hold for 10 minutes and when I did finally speak to the woman she said "what do you want your food has been delivered" I explained i ordered it for 8pm but it has arrived at 6.45pm while I am still at work" she did not want to help me and she literally shouted at me down the phone then hung up. I phoned back 4 times before she answered again then offered to send the driver to pick up the food and give me my money back which I agreed. The driver then phoned me saying he can't give me the money but they can put it back on my card which will take 10 days. Never will I use this place again

Just had crispy chilli beef and sweet sour chicken balls and chips really good and proper chips only complaint is ive got belly ache because ive .eaten too much !

Phoned in to complain that my duck was pink and they said that's how it's is supposed to be but when I search online it says duck must be cooked until not pink. I told her this and she said "it maybe probably might be okay" wow no offer of a replacement or anything

pad thay had no taste, no.lime, no nuts 2 prowns, not recommending this

Cancelled my £18 order because it was under £20, even though it went through just fine on their website, then rang me with the most stinking attitude shouting and screaming not letting me get a word in, never ever trying to go there again!

This was the worst meal I have ever had from a chinese restaurant. The curry hasn't been touched and is going in the bin. The chicken balls were like they've been in the microwave.

Almost tasteless. Soup was disappointing! Sweet and sour was barely average. The lamb curry was the best item although the lamb was very tough. Would not recommend.

Not going to lie it was awful and the soggiest Chinese I’ve ever had, I couldn’t even eat it and felt so annoyed I wasted £25, prawn toast was thick and squidgy, chicken balls mush, chips not even good. Was so annoyed they need to step up their game

Ordered salt and pepper wings ,chicken,squid and chips x2 of each ... you couldn't eat it there was that much spice in it we've been left with blisters in our mouths !!! Paid £42 ,rang and they didn't want to know said we csnt eat spicy food ( had the same 2 weeks ago and it was fine ). Hubby went back with the food and was given just £20 refund after an argument and them phoning the boss ! I've never experienced anything like it . We like and enjoy spicy food from most countries but this was ridiculous. As I said had the same meal a couple of weeks ago which was spot on but god knows what happened this time

I ordered over £30 worth of food. It came super quick which is great. What wasn't was the amount of oil on my floor when I put my bag down. Also, when dishing up, oil was dripping from every container, and there was a puddle Inside the bag. Chicken balls were full of gristle, and the flavour of grease overpowered the whole thing! Couldn't eat it so threw it away. Not happy at all

Absolutely dreadful. I spent £25, had to chuck it in the bin and then proceed to make food instead. Wouldn’t feed this to my dog, they should be ashamed to be producing such poor quality food. Annoyed at a wasted £25

Now, I've seen the other reviews and they must have been having bad days. I've been here a few times now and I can without a doubt say it's amazing. The portions are massive and the chicken must be in steroids because the chunks of chicken are massive! 100% would recommend.

The food was covered in loads of oil, the shredded chicken tastes like sugar and oil.

Have ordered her previously and it has been lovely but on this occasion it was really disappointing. The crispy Duck was really fatty and wet- just not very pleasant to eat. Chow mein, chicken balls, prawn toast and seaweed were really nice as usual. Would still order from her as previously has been so nice!

Food wasn’t delivered but the app said it was, also was unable to contact the restaurant as they weren’t talking on the phone to see what happened

My food hasn't been delivered stood outside in the cold waiting for my 17 pound meal 45mins before the time due to my battery running out and saw no delivery neither refund

My order arrived sooner than estimated which was great and the food was hot and tasty. The portion sizes were very generous too. All in all very pleased and will definitely order from here again.

Food of good quality and fast delivery

Literally the rudest lady I have ever spoken to in my life .......said it was delivered when they made no attempt to look for my address......stood in the road for 30 minutes! Do NOT order from these people.....had to pay cash to driver for redelivery......food was beyond awful! So basically waste of time!!!!!!!! Reported to trading standards

Normally chips are great. This time very hard as if they were reheated.

Our food was meant to come at 19:25, it was marked as delivered at this Time, but had not been, we tried to contact, the time was changed to 19:50, our good arrived at 19:45, but it was cold

If I could leave zero star I would, so I ordered deep fried salt&pepper chicken, which they've got even picture how it looks, it I got delivered ribs, so I phoned them, lady was arrogant and assuring me I've got right order, well I clearly can see what I got delivered, so I took pictures of all I contacted just eat! The dim sum was gorgeous, the noodle were lovely but the rice was jus a little dry. But it was midnight, such a lovely delivery guy too . So yeah I would recommend this place. Thank you so much.

Chicken in Thai curry was pink and slimy and not like chicken at all. Chicken chow mein noodles were dry, no sauce, barely any beansprouts or veg and noodles tasted weird. Really disappointing meal, won't be ordering from here again

I ordered here really late. i also have a ring door bell so can see on the camera when people have come to the door!! It had been 2 hours since i ordered so i rang them back and asked where it was the guy was so rude and said someone came and knocked the door and i didn't answer so he wouldnt be bring it back so i checked my ring door bell and no one had came!!! i ordered late so i just think they just wanted to finish which is fine but just cancel my order rather then make up a lie! After i checked my ring doorbell i could see they lied i called straight back and demanded my food i had spent £50 on and he said i had to pay a late fee which at this point i just wanted my food so i did. Also would like to add the food was boiling hot when it arrived !! but he clamed it had been sat their for an hour.... it also took another 40 mins from the time i called back i could tell it had just been cooked!! i also know this is a lie as my friends have ordered from them in the past and they had just left in on the door step! was disgusting service

Food wasn't very nice soggy and a bit greasy and the chicken was quite rough

I've used China Wok for my takeout since 2011 even after moving from st Mary's i still use them now. Literally only ever 2 occasions where the food's been not great (chips cold and the sauce was very watery. Chowmein was raw) Rest of the time my orders have been great and the delivery staff always very friendly even a couple of times we've had free drinks and extras given to is on very late nights!

The young girl that took our order is quite rude ordered a st Mary’s special that’s a set meal with rice chips curry sauce and a drink barely any sauce so was really dry annoying sauce don’t cost a lot now does it too much rice not enough chips and sauce and like I said they young girl that serves her attitude is rude a few people I know have said it and also I’d like to know if the boil there chicken from raw disappointed it used to be my favourite place not no more and probably will never eat from there again and I’ve been a customer for quite some years now very dissatisfied be careful what you order from here.

We used to order from here collection all the time as we lived on the same road. We moved away in February to sholing and I’ve missed their food. We ordered today and I was worried it would be cold because it’s fairly far but it was piping hot and still delicious 🤤 yum

Delivered to wrong door and cold

Got the wrong order I had prawns in my food and I don't eat prawns so had to throw it away and the chicken chow mein was infact pork not chicken will not be ordering again totally put me off food

Good arrived stone cold, chow mein was to dry compared to what it normally is, chicken wings were hard. Just not impressed with the service and will not use this one again.

Generous portions and the chicken balls were fresh but the hot starter was dry and stale tasting, I really wanted crispy seaweed which is why I ordered that dish but it was bitter and not enjoyable. I know £18 is a small order but it's a lot for me to spend to be unable to eat the food, I would have been happy to wait longer for a fresher tasting dish.

Disgusting customer service Never will I ever order from here again. The woman on the phone has no respect or customer service at all. I ordered through their website and was sent an order from the 17th December 2022. I phoned to ask for a correction but the woman was so rude and did NOT acknowledge that I paid by card for an incorrect order all I kept getting was how this was my fault although she could tell me what I had ordered even after agreeing that the order sent was from 17th December. She also tried to tell me that I hadn't paid for the order even though I showed the delivery driver my banking app transaction. The driver was in agreement that I could not have paid the exact amount for a different order from 2022. The woman at the Chinese kept saying she would get her driver to collect the food but I'd have to pay for the food I have touched. COMPLETE SCAM, STAY AWAY FROM THIS CHINESE. Whenever we order from China Wok via JustEat app, it works just fine. but every time we get food delivered, we always get flyers encouraging us to order via their website, so we can avail of 15% discount. and when tried to do that last nite, the website won't accept it. stating that our postcode isnt eligible for delivery, we can only collect; which don't make any sense.tried to call the restaurant on the number that was on the flyer and website; so that i can place me order over the phone, but nobody pickup. goes straight to VM. and at the end ended up ordering the food via the just eat app. i just feel that i went thru all of this trouble of trying to get a discount, but at the end still end up getting nadah. since im a regular customer of ur restaurant. i wish to be compensated for my troubles. kindly credit me my 15% discount for my last order, plus the £2.50 charge i incurred from using the app, due the faliure of ur website. and will call it a day.
