Happy Flavours in Watford

Usually fabulous but this time not so. The plantain was totally burnt and fused together and to the paper like it had been left in a microwave far too long. It smell of burning in the bag so someone must have smelt it was cremated. Rice was lovely and I liked the greens. Only 3 joints of oxtail and 2 were gristly. Sorry. Usually so good here

Finally a local Caribbean that tastes authentic and good . Food was amazing even kids noticed a difference from where we would usually order from. Straight away they said, this is so much nice than. Usual. Highly impressed!!! Delicious

We actually order food right now from this place and received 3 quarter of rice and 4 small piece of oxtails. We called them and they didn’t care whatsoever. We wrote a complained to Uber eats, so please be aware when you order as you cannot see what the portions they’re putting. So 2 large portions for £40 and mostly rice, that’s truly disappointing and dishonest, giving people what cost the less (rice). This is a shame as those 4 pieces of oxtails tasted good. You just lost 2 customers… Shame on you to make money this way..

Just had this for the 1st time following a recommendation. Very very good! Goat was soft, real depth of flavour and portion was plentiful - looking forward to our next visit already

Tried this place for the first time today, ordered curry goat today which comes with rice and peas and steam veg. All I can say is the food is amazing, quality and quantity are both superb. Wasn't sure what to expect at first. If I'm ever in that area I know where to order from again.

Delivery never came. No number to contact just says will be emailed in a couple of days with resolution. Issue is not the restaurant is the deliver service

I have recently visited Happy Flavors for the first time and I feel I want to give my review on them as they are an independent business which always needs supporting. Firstly, they are very nice and friendly people. I also feel the cost per portion is value for money based on experience of other establishments. All of this is solidified by the authentic taste they provide 10/10 Happy Flavors location locked in big up respect Jay.

Missing items. Unacceptable given the price and the fact that they charge a lot and separately for service, packaging and delivery

Coleslaw is way too sweet. Too much sugar added and over priced.

I order from happy flavours regularly but was disappointed on this occasion. Our order was delayed by an additional 40 minutes and they sent small meals even though medium meals were ordered.

I am a regular customer who drive to this restaurant at least every week. Many time they take the order on the phone but given the order not the way I want. Every time they apologise and say we will sort it out next time. Even today I took this up the chin and requested for a small coleslaw and then changed my mind asking for a large one and the lady behind the counter started lecturing me like my grandma when I went to eat rice and jerk chicken. I found the lady very disrespectful and unprofessional towards me. I have no complaints about the food, but they have lost me as a customer and will never go back again to get treated like a dog. I don’t spend my money for your stinky attitudes.. Learn to respect people and you will always get it back. Today I walked out of the shop asking them to bin the food. Quite frustrated that I couldn’t get my dinner!!!

Delivery was delayed several times up until 1hr later but food was nice

DELIVERY WAS LATE AND MY FOOD IS EXTREMELY COLD. THE DELIVERY DRIVER FAILED TO DELIVER MY FOOD AND SAID IT WAS DELIVERED WHEN IT CAME 10 MINUTES LATER THEN HE SAID IT WAS DELIVERED. MY DELIVERY WAS LATE OVER 25MINUTES. HE TEXTED ME AND REFUSED TO ANSWER MY CALLS OR FOLLOW MY INSTRUCTIONS FOR DELIVERY. PLEASE REFUND ME AND STOP HIRING INCOMPETENT DRIVERS.

Everything I've tried from here has been delicious (jerk chicken, brown stew chicken, patties)but the curry goat in particular is *outstanding*. Not an expert on Caribbean food but growing up in NW London, I know enough to know when it's the real deal. The lunch deals for £5 are by far the best in the area - the quality of food and the portion size are unbeatable. Would thoroughly, thoroughly recommend.

Ahhh I’m disappointed :( the first few times we ordered from here the food was delicious! Sadly today it really lacked flavour. The oxtail didn’t taste of anything. No rice and peas? and no complimentary plantain or veg, disappointed. Will probably try again but not great this time.

Ordered a takeaway after looking at the reviews and thought I would give this new restaurant a try. My partner and I opted for the goat and jerk chicken. The food arrived piping hot and in tightly sealed containers. Good start! Even better when we started eating it. Fantastic tasty food. Definitely would recommend and can’t wait to try more of the menu. Well done for bringing great Caribbean food to Watford!

We were never informed when the food was delivered. So it's been sitting in reception for the last 15 minutes. Disappointed.

Food was DISGUSTING! very basic and bland for Caribbean food. We visited tonight where everything was reheated out of the freezer which made the food dry. Kids crawling around on the floor at 9:30 pm.

Great food discovered this hidden gem a few weeks ago and have feasted here almost every day. They’ve now started doing Jollof rice which goes great with their authentic jerk chicken.

Found this little gem while visiting my son in hospital. Had the Jerk chicken with rice and pea, was that good I had to try the ox tail! Bloke in the shop was friendly and knew his food!! looking forward to going back! Strongly recommend if you like your Caribbean food!

Great food very good portions brown stew very good

Food was average. The cabbage that was on top of all the food was not pleasant and affected all dishes taste. Slightly unfair to charge 13-17 pounds for a main that is 70-75 percent rice. The medium and large dishes were the same size and no difference in quantity of main dish versus rice. Fritter was saturated with oil. Unfortunate meal for the price it’s charged at.

This little gem live up to its name " Happy flavours". This is my very first time that I have ordered food from this restaurant. I had curry goat & rice peas, oxtail and macaroni & cheese. As a native Jamaican I must say if you are looking for authentic Caribbean food , you won't be disappointed. The goat meat was tender literally falling off the bones. It has the right amount of seasoning, the taste from "Home". As for the oxtail there is only one word to describe it absolutely " Delicious!!!". Furthermore,The portions are generous and the prices reasonable. All in all, I salute the chef for bringing to our door steps the best authentic food ever. I will definitely ordered from this little gem again and again:)

I'm new to NW London and I LOVE Caribbean food, so I'm relieved to have found this place on UE. I had medium brown stew chicken with rice and peas (my fave Caribbean dish), saltfish fritter, festival, and fried dumpling (I was being safe as some places do small festivals and dumplings but both were big here). Everything was very tasty and good value with satisfying portion sizes. I'll definitely be ordering again; next time I'll try out the chicken curry and patties. I just have one request/tip for the owner. I only gave you 4 instead of 5 for service due to one factor: sauce. I liked that the rice soaked up the brown stew flavours, but it meant I had no sauce left in the tray and nothing to dip my festival and dumpling into. Please think about including a small pot of extra brown stew sauce with your orders because it would make a big difference. It only needs to be a 2oz pot.

Oh my god the person that cooked this cooked with love Really generous portions lovingly wrapped so you don’t loose any of that divine gravy The Mac and cheese. Mature cheddar, warm comforting . A hug in a box. Don’t even consider Caribbean in Watford, they do not compare. Thanks guys x

Spot on.... Stumbled across it by accident. Not easy to get good Caribbean food in Watford. I had Oxtail, everyone else had goat. We all loved it. It I had to change anything it would be the colslaw, it was nice but could be better. We're going back 👍

Nice food but awful service this time around, I’m a very regular customer of this place and there usually great now I do not believe this is all the restaurants fault but they use just eat drivers, I watched my driver drive all around Watford for 45 mins before finally deciding to deliver my food, on arrival I asked why he’s late and he started shouting profanities at me, I recommend employing your own drivers to avoid this as I now have stone cold food

The food at Happy Flavours is consistently delicious. I've visited a few times now and ordered different dishes each time and they have all been really excellent indeed. Good quality food cooked with skill and care. Nice people as well. Highly recommended.

I bought the jerk chicken with rice and peas, curry mutton with rice and peas, oxtail with rice and peas, two patties, coconut cake and carrot cake and three bottles of water. Food is Amazing!!!!!! To be honest I had stopped eating Caribbean food for two years as the majority of restaurants just changed up the taste of Caribbean food and I must couldn't find that original classic Jamaican taste. But guess what!!!! Happy Flavours has made me very happy today and revived my confidence in Caribbean food again.

Excellent curry goat meal! Fantastic flavour and the portion size is generous for a medium (plantain portions a bit small though). Quick service delivered early and very hot. Unfortunately - jerk wings sides were unavailable. It is annoyingly usual for Caribbean shops to always have something you want unavailable!! But I am so pleased to have good quality Caribbean takeaway near me so will be a regular and try the jerk chicken meal next. Highly recommended!

Finally! Decent Caribbean food in watford! Germaine and his wife are a lovely couple and their service is only matched by the incredible food they produce! I eat all over the world and this place has become one of my favorite places to eat!
