Las Iguanas in Watford

Completely empty but only accepting people with reservations. Checked the website before going and it was not listed anywhere.

Went on a Monday night for unlimited tapas and had a very average time. There were three people working and only one seemed to be serving and running round whilst the manager and the third member of male staff stood on their phones. Andrea was fantastic and very attentive however the other two just walked past tables that were waiting to order and didn’t seem to care. Have eaten here several times and never had a problem but was really disappointed today.

I don’t know why I was excited to go here today. I don’t learn. The reason was my son wanted Mexican food and coincidentally an email cam offering £15 bottomless tapas. What could possibly go wrong? Booked via the phone as it was impossible to book the offer online. Turned up bang on time. Keep in mind the restaurant was around 40% occupied. Do I have a booking I am asked. Yes, I say. Of course she can’t find it. Good job the call was recorded. She explained that they were fully booked but she would squeeze us in. Seated, she asked if we understood how the bottomless tapas worked. We are allowed 6 dishes, amongst the four of us in the first order and then we can order in batches of 5. This is ridiculous but we went with it. Given the first order too 30 minutes of our allowed 90 minutes we were no doing great. The food was at best average. No Latin American is eating that I can assure you. There was no care or love put into the food or its presentation. We asked to order more food and we were told, only after we had finished what we had. What? As a grown human I will not be told to clear my plate before I can order more. The experience was poor. What has happened to Las Iguanas. It used to fab. To be fair I don’t know if this nonsense is just the Watford branch or if this is how it is across all locations. The person who appeared to be the duty manager does not have a clue about customer service. Her way of cleaning tables was also terrible, as she cleared a table next to us by brush any food waste on the table top onto the floor and left it there. Maybe I’ll try another branch but Watford Las Iguanas, we are done. Folks, save your money and go elsewhere. I certainly will.

Sai makes the best long islands this side of England! Great cocktail maker will be back just because of him!

A couple friends and I decided to try out Las Iguanas after seeing the All-you-can-eat Tapas January deal. We were sceptical about how well the service would be and whether they'd try to limit our orders within the 90-minutes given - but we were pleasantly surprised! We were well taken care of, by a gentleman named Prateek, as well as two ladies who I didn't get their names. The food was great, especially considering the value of the deal, and the staff were attentive and very welcoming. The atmosphere was also pleasant with good lighting and spacing, and seemed quite lively for a Thursday evening. All round great experience, would certainly recommend for the Tapas deal!

The service at Watford was extremely disappointing. The staff were rude and unprofessional, and I definitely won’t be returning. I ordered a piña colada, but it arrived as little more than a glass of ice. The plantains were both undercooked and burnt. Additionally, the wait time for drinks was unacceptable. I do not recommend this place to anyone.

So the place is nice, the nachos were a bit hard tho! I had the fajitas with steak prawns and chicken which were really nice nice however they were quite tight on the pots of sauce. The cocktails were nice and the staff were okay just didn’t come over much. Went into the toilets and they were broken and quite dirty. Would come back for the fajitas

It was under staffed and so we were waiting a long time for our food. The food was also bland with not much flavour and the churros just tasted of oil.

Food is so-so, small portions, can't get full. Waited really long for waiters to notice us and give an order. Really cold inside too.

Awful, the waiters were polite even though they were overwhelmed as they were understaffed, the food was crap, the sweet potato fries for which you have to pay extra look like garbage, the chicken was burnt in both dishes i ordered, the hot honey cheese bite presentation was low and everything was screaming scam and it was The cocktails are the only reason worth going but food defo never again

Had an amazing bottomless festive brunch here. The food and drinks were brilliant. Jayden was our server and he is an absolute superstar! He went above and beyond to make sure our meal and experience was extra special. Give this guy a promotion!

Went for the festive boozy brunch with some girlfriends on a Saturday afternoon. We were looked after by Aayush who was amazing! Drinks were constantly topped up and he checked in with us often to ensure we were happy and had everything we needed. Food was good and the cocktails were stronggg. We had a really good time and would deffo return.

The rice and curry was very bland. Only the taco platter is worth it. But the tacos themselves were cold. The food was just good enough to be passable. But I wouldn't recommend going there expecting flavorful food. It's very bland. The quantity is great though. You will leave full but maybe not fulfilled.

Met a friend here for a meal, staff were pleasant and lovely, I asked for a burrito but with no cheese (I'm aware they are meant to be cheesy but I don't like cheese) in which I was informed they can't do that as the burritos "come as they are" which I understand on a busy Saturday evening they have to prep, but could of made me up one without cheese for a possible returning customer 🤷🏼‍♀️. I don't usually leave feedback but felt maybe they could take this into consideration next time someone asks. the gentleman serving us was lovely and smiley

Hygiene of waiter hands were not good. Nails were dirty and so long. Maybe they were clean enough, but not looked like.

Went to this restaurant and had a set meal! It was terrible! Probably worst food I’ve ever sampled! I say sampled as couldn’t eat it! Coke and Fanta - I’ve had stronger squash! Starter - small portion of nachos - it was like it had been microwaved - weren’t even crispy and all just stuck together Chicken burger - a disgusting chicken breast with pink on outside and black/brown bits served cold! Fries just lukewarm Dessert - 3 what was meant to be churros but looked more like a chip pan cooked onion ring Don’t look anything like pictures Las Iguanas advertise online! I spoke to a server who said they’d pass it onto management!! An absolute joke. Don’t waste your time or money and go get food elsewhere! Disgusting.

Aayush was so attentive to our table was 8 of us and we never waited for anything. Service was amazing and he offered recommendations and advice to everyone in the group. He was a great member of your team and he made my birthday very special. I was so nice to not have to look for or wait for service anytime we needed anything he was there.

I was at this place before and it was spectacular the food the service. I can Ed again today and everything was even better the food was just amazing however they took way to long to give me the bill I missed my bus because of it if u are in a time crunch do not go here!

Very good drinks and very nice atmosphere we really liked the design inside and outside, the food in my opinion was mild and mediocre something you would eat at taco bell cheaper, the service was good though they were nice with us even though when they forgot to bring something they explained to us the situation and everything was fine and they also compensate our wait with a drink. Our server Ayman was the sweetest, I've had the occasional of finding her in another day as well working hard and we had a lovely chat about our meeting again, she took care of us and get away the margerita I didn't like a bring a lovely blue lagoon and a long Iceland for my baby chicken ❤️❤️❤️

Siana was absolutely amazing. She had an adorable vibe, very friendly and was definitely attentive. Our entire party of 4 absolutely loved her. The cocktail deals were amazing. We were the last table that left and the team were so kind and patient. We appreciate it so much. It was my first visit and it sure wont be my last. xx

Just had a lovely meal here. Service was great, all three courses for both of us were excellent. Nice atmosphere. Staff very attentive. Although it has an extensive menu we both agreed we would probably have exactly the same three courses on our next visit as were so enjoyable. Thanks guys. Keep up the good work. We had a lovely lady called Seanna, she was so friendly, gave advice on drinks and food and overall made the evening much more enjoyable with her friendly demeanour.

This was without doubt the best service we’ve had in a very long time. Efficient friendly staff who made the meal a really great experience. Drinks came within minutes, the food was delicious and our waitress Seanna was outstanding- her smile lit up the place and her recommendations of cocktails were helpful. Great atmosphere. Only reason I took a star away was because they had no churros. Will definitely be back soon

Absolutely obsessed with las iguanas cocktails! The pina coladas and the pink colada will forever be the favourite. I’m not the biggest Mexican food lover so I can really only judge the cocktails!

Ayman/Aiman/Aymen (can’t remember) was fantastic and so sweet! Tried to hire her for my company but her loyalty is unwavering. Will be back soon to recruit her again.

Honestly, not sure where it went wrong for Las Iguanas. Maybe we ordered the wrong dishes, but the food tasted so ordinary. Like dishes I could have cooked half heartedly at home tired after a long day of work. It's not really the standard you'd expect from a restaurant, very uninspiring. It didn't take me for a journey to Latin America, it took me for a journey back to my home kitchen 15 minutes away. The servers were polite but it's another place that you pick your own table, scan the QR code to order your own food, then get asked if you want to tip. I've already done half the traditional job of the waiters by this point. We decided to try to embrace it and go for the 2 for 1 cocktails. These cocktails are priced at 150% of what they would be elsewhere, which somewhat explains the offer, but worse, they were tasteless. We ordered the mango spritz and it was all spirit and soda with none of the mango flavour. I stopped after 3 sips as it was bitter and not even close to a proper spritz. Unfortunately, we won't be returning in a hurry.

Due to a technical glitch with their booking system the restaurant were not aware of our reservation for 15 even though we had received a reference. They quickly arranged a table and got us all seated and were patient with a group of noisy and over excited children. Service was fast and friendly and they were helpful and answered all our questions with a smile. Food came quickly and was very good.

Good location, we been there lunch time but I would like to mention we get in for some drinks but because of the great service we stay in and we get some food, what was delicious, tasty. Mylesh make our day/lunch great the service was very good to a high standard, to make us to stay longer there to have more drinks more food and on the same time to cancel out reservation to another restaurant. He was friendly, welcoming and very polite around his service, some questions come up from us about food menu his answer was with knowledge about food menu and he made us to stay more . Place very clean , and very well maintained. Well done Mylesh great costumer service. Definitely we will come back and thank you.

Previously visited the branch in York which is great, So didn’t hesitate to visit Watfords Branch. Not much to say about the food other than it was poor in taste and presentation when comparing to York. The restaurant it’s self was extremely noisy and after giving up with the wifi registration, app download, registering an account, and attempting to use the app to order I called a waitress over to assist. We all struggled to hear her due to the music and general background noise and mistakes were made. Not the best experience.
