This was my first time trying this outlet on recommendation from someone else who swears by their delicious chicken. They are pretty strict with what you can have in combos and they don't switch out sides. Every single order is prepared fresh while you wait. I cringe to think what a lunchtime rush would be like. It took about 20 minutes to get my order. The chicken actually was tasty and there's so much sauce that it leaked through the bag very quickly. So I'd suggest some more sturdy bags for the wings please. The chicken had a weird odour but this is me as I find all chicken in England smells rather strange. The tables could have done with a wipe. I'll order from them again, but only if I have a craving and the leisure of time to sit and wait for an order.

Raw chicken and order wrong. Very unprofessional

Had to wait more than 30 minutes for a piece of chicken and fries. Lemon and herbs chicken was tasteless, and fries were dry and taste of old oil.

I tried there fried chicken sorry to say it was dry & tasteless, also they charge 50p for a small pot of mayonnaise/sauce which is annoying. Avoid

AVOID!! Terrible uncooked food. I ordered chicken rice and it smelt off and chicken was uncooked and chewy (chicken was pink inside). Don’t buy food from them as it’s a waste of money. Disgusting quality and they deserve to close!!!

Very poor customer services. Very mean staff not giving any sauce with food and ask for 50p . We hardly go there as pepes on whippendell road ia much better than the high street one.

Open till late. If you like spicy, try peri-peri fries.

Dear owner of the business, I'm not sure if you are aware of this but if not I would like to make inform you that even though it mentions on Google its open till 1am but that isn't the case. I drove 20 minutes to get there at 11 23pm and the staff informed the they have closed the kitchen and only serving pre cooked chicken and rice box which was really disappointing and has nasty taste . Please look into this

Service is always quick and food quality is good. This place never disappoints

Nice place overall. We ordered a few different courses to try. The quesadillas could have been presented better on the plate, and placed beside each other instead of on top of each other. Since they are dripping a little the bottom one gets a bit oily when you have to pick it up. They have several different spice levels, but beware, they are not kidding around. I chose the "hot" variety, which is step two, and it was at the level I can manage. There are two more levels, very hot and extreme. I don't even want to think of how hot those are. We enjoyed our meal here.

Bad service and food We order larg chips but been given small also service was very bad. Will never come back to the shop

I call this place, Pep Fraudiola... If the Pepes on Whippendell Road is the Real Pepe Guardiola this place is an absolute FRAUD. Pepes on Watford highstreet, is an embarassment to the Pepe's brand. I eat at Pepes every single week but this shop on the high street is a stain on this company who will lose many loyal customers. If you've been you'll know there's no difference between extra hot and mild, the spicy gravy is diluted to a disgusting degree and they didn't even spare the poor garlic sauce. The best thing about this place is the soft drink, but they still got me a Pepsi max when I ordered a Regular coke. Disgrace!

Ordered a chicken wrap for take away and I had to wait 30 minutes for it just to be disappointed… the chicken was tasteless and the entire wrap was tasting really bad…I would never buy from them again! Bad customer service as well.

I’ve just received my order 30mins late!! It arrived cold, and tasted dry. The lettuce looked like it had been left out for a while. We specifically asked in the notes for our wraps to come without salad and mayo and again, the notes were ignored! We were also given the wrong drink. Won’t be ordering from here again😡

Worst pepes ever. I was given Someone else’s order. Called the restaurant to complain was told you can have that order and nothing to worry about. WTH

Ordered some food and half the order was missing, when we contacted the restaurant we where told 20mins to deliver the missing food. They guy on the phone had an attitude. Nearly an hour later it turned up no apology though. The food used to be good but now it’s just rubbish

The chicken and rice is good, but that's really the only good thing about this place. The customer service is decent, would not recommend if you're going to order anything else. Just go in for the chicken and rice!

Food was good, but to my disappointment, i was given 1 satchet of Ketchup for one chicken meal ( Hw crazy and unthinkable is that). After asking for more , i was told its 1 satchet per meal , Then i had to pay for the satchets at 10p per satchet.. I feel ripped and dissatisfied.

I've asked for HOT flavoured wings twice, and got plain twice. The staff don't listen or care lol, I repeated 'are they hot flavour' 3 times. Stick with Whippendale Road!

My partner and I placed an order for 2 x paneer and rice and despite normally going to the whippendell road branch we picked up from the high street. NEVER AGAIN!!! Don’t waste your money!! When we got home, there was absolutely no peri peri marinade or sauce. Effectively we bought 2 boxes of dry rice and cheese. When we called to complain initially we were told that, that was how it was meant to be and has always been. We knew this not to be true because 1) how can you sell a peri peri product with no peri peri - ridiculous! And 2) we have been Pepe customers for years. They then made out they couldn’t hear us and the line went dead, so awful customer service or should I say no customer service on top of no peri peri... that’s how much they care about their customers. They tell them they’re wrong and then put the phone down on them!!! We called back and shared our thoughts on their “resolution” We were eventually and very begrudgingly offered 50% off our order, not that we even up eating it!!! We will never be going back and advise you don’t go either. We will now be looking for a new peri peri shop so any recommendations welcome :) Please see attached pictures....

I have been ignored on a few websites regarding this brand or chicken I have been to the one on Whippendell Road on many many occasions and as we are all aware this country well the entire world is in a massive crisis therefore clean safe food is of the most highest of importance therefore I am asking again what procedures do you have

Poor quality food with very high price, very disappointed

Popped in here on a Saturday lunch time recently for a meal deal as advertised on the window. 2 burgers and fries for £4.99, both had the chicken fillet, it was fabulous, piping hot, non greasy and excellent crispy chips. Nice friendly service in a diner type restaurant beats the big High Street names hands down

I visit this shop regularly as i work in the shopping center,but recently their prices have gone up but the quality of food and service has gone down. Very disappointed.

Been a few times for lunch and takeaway. generally limited items, freshly prepared and tasty. good value for money. friendly staff. recommended.

Went to buy food and was served by a 16 year old with an attitude! Then told that they don’t accept credit cards! Come on we live in the 21st century get real! I wouldn’t go there even if you paid me to!

Cold food, overpriced and only takes cash

I bought a burger a couple of weeks ago and it was stone cold by the time I got back to work (I work 30 seconds away from this s**t establishment). I took the burger back as I had told the guy behind the counter (who calls all females 'lady' (rude) that I would be coming back if I wasn't happy with it) When I returned he knew straight away and took the bag. He preceded to tell me that I shouldn't have put the drink in the bag that's why it was cold. Um, no. The meat inside the burger was cold. How could a can of drink freeze the inside of a burger, you fool? He gave me another burger, although I regret spending my hard earned money there. Just now I was told that he called me rude. ME? RUDE??? I didn't even have to say a word when I went in there! The place is a joke. Don't bother wasting your money. They are rude, Their food is crap and it is grimey! I had to give a 1 star rating because there was nothing lower! It deserves no rating. At all.

Best Pepes branch I’ve ever been to great service especially from Ed love the food

Ordered family platter, 6 pieces of fried chicken, chips and salad (instead of beans). Chicken pieces were very big and the taste was nice but the coating didn't stick to the chicken very well. Probably wouldn't get the fried chicken again but have tried the grilled chicken with rice before and that was better. Prices are quite high. Excellent service. I would recommend eating here but go for the grilled chicken rather than the fried.

Disgusting food. No customer service whatsoever. Never returning. Bought 2 chicken pita meals to takeaway for £11. Got to the park and opened the bag, pita bread was all moldy. Chips seemed to have been fried over many times over. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY..

Chicken and rice box all day, make sure to get the garlic sauce. Their piri piri chips taste better than Nando's piri piri chips. Quick customer service, decent seating space.

We went to Pepe's in Watford around 10pm and they had ran out of all their grilled chicken which was quite disappointing. They could just about make us some chicken burgers and we were starving so ordered 10 chicken burgers. Pretty average as one can imagine frozen chicken patties to be but it fed us. Usually their grilled chicken is decent; I almost always order their mexican chicken panini; it is really tasty! Their sauces are great too but chips often quite cold. All in all good value for money!

Value for money! This fast food outlet serves tasty chicken burger, chips and drink for as low as $3.5. Although mostly crowded, you do not have to wait for very long as they serve food fast.

Poped in by chance for a lunch time take away.but wish I hadn't. Ordered the grilled wing meal. The chips were cold wings were tiny tasteless and drink was watery coke. Will give it a miss.

I WAS a regular of this restaurant until Wednesday gone when i visited during lunch. I was in a rush to get back to work so i ordered and paid in advance and let them know i was just nipping to the bank over the road and would collect after. When i arrived back they had given my order to someone else and went on to say it was my fault because i had left the shop. I explained that i already queued and paid for that ticket number/order in advance, as i explained before because i was in a rush to get back to work....

Food really good, but even in collection 20 minutes late...

Never order from here for delivery, they expected me to wait for an additional hour. I had to go and collect myself and still had to wait for half an hour. They do not give you a courtesy call to inform you that your food will be delivered an hour late, I had to call them. They should not be on just eat if they cannot deliver at the specified time a customer has requested. The food was good, but will not be ordering from them ever again.

Two hours late, than the meal arrived not what I ordered and the two prime pitta's had burnt dry chicken! I had to ring them as they never Called to advise me, poor food even worse customer service!

a complete disgrace this is the 3rd time ordered from this company and the 2nd time to have a problem, the 1st time was told 2 hours to wait or come and collect the order. Thought give them another chance could have been an off day, so 2nd order was grate. then tonight the 3rd order. ######## disgrace as waited almost 2 hours for the delivery no call to say was a problem. there phone number constantly engaged and then when the guy arrived no apology or anything at all. my partner and i gave up and had toast for dinner as he is up at 3 am for work and now they won't take back the delivery that is useless to us. A TOTAL WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY PLEASE BE ADVISED NOT TO BOTHER WITH THEM.

It was the most horrible place ever the fod was cold we miss our drinks wich we pay for it we wait fir two hours until the delivery comw never got our drink and when i call them ti give them my complain the y tild me they were to busy never again and i will go to the store to do a formal complain

Food excellent as always. Set delivery time for 21:15 (gave them 1 hour 10 minutes time) and they changed it (without informing me) to 21:45. The food eventually arrived at 22:00! Ridiculous service/delivery. From order to receipt of food took 1 hour 55 minutes and they are a 5 mins bus journey away. The earliest I've ever received my food from here was 15 minutes late. I suggest if you want to order from here, you order 2 hours before you actually want it...

Still haven't received food after waiting for 2 hours, and being told after an hour that there is another 30 minute wait. Not acceptable and not recommended.

Food was cold when delivered. Also delivery driver couldn't find my address even though I live 5 minutes away from the shop. Then Complained To the manager on juty Muhammad and refused to refund my money. I have eating food in the past from pepe's and it was great however the delivery service was appalling!!!

The first time I ordered it was DELICIOUS so I ordered again in a few days. BUT completely got the wrong order this time. I ordered extra hot peri peri but received some lemon flavoured thing which completely killed my mood! The chicken was not even as juicy as before! and ordered a whole chicken but got 3 breast pieces and only one leg! If only they get the correct order and the food is as juicy as the first time its a great place to order from otherwise its very upsetting!
