Called in with family, I wanted a good burger, nee McDonald's, can't remember what I ordered, but my burger was stunning, juicy, the juices dripping onto my plate with every bite, really enjoyed and will return.

Booked a table for 11 for sons 21st one of his favourite places to eat,on arriving son noticed menu had changed and his favourite burger was not on menu,chef came over and explained what he would do to make it as close to his favourite burger. Food arrived for 11 of us and was excellent cooked to perfection,also our waitress and all staff were brilliant good to see customer service still exists

Nice Xmas eve meal. I was put off coming here after having a bad experience ten years ago but decided to finally try it again it and has changed for the better. Much more vegetarian choices. Husband had the typical bed burger and enjoyed it with the skin on chips. I had a falafel minus bun with sweet potato fries- also lovely. Will try again.

So, I eat alot of proper burgers and wings it's my favourite treat. The wings here are hands down the best I have ever eaten, no joke they are unreal! The burgers were mind blowing too, honestly not the best burger I've had but a rock solid 9! My wife loved her chicken burger and it was the best chicken one she's had this far. Always wanted to try this place and am gutted I took so long to do so. Will be back here no doubt about it. The guy who served us is a credit to the company too. Warm, friendly and funny guy. Thanks guys you rock 🤘🏻💪🏻

This is the second time we've visited whilst shopping at the Metrocentre. We arrived about 15 - 20 minutes before the restaurant opened but were welcomed by Damien and offered drinks, until the kitchen opened. I have a dairy intollerance so it was lovely to have a hot chocolate made with soya milk - instead of the tea infusions I normally have. Lovely. For lunch I had a Hawaiian burger with grilled fresh pineapple in a vegan bun. My husband had a Mexican burger with jalapenos, avocado and a couple of spicy tortilla chips. We both had sweet potato fries . The meal was delicious and filling -our thanks to chef Kris, and Damien regularly checked to see if we required anything further. Worth the return visit . Staff were friendly, food was tasty, filling and value for money

We were helped to a suitable table ( there was a wheelchair user in the group). The service from all the staff was friendly and efficient. The food was delicious and overall it was a very pleasant experience. Highly recommended for a easy going lunch.

This is our favourite burger restaurant. Never had a bad meal here. Until today. Service was excellent as always. Food arrived quickly but the burgers were over cooked and rubbery. We'll give it another chance but if it's poor next time there's lots of other places selling posh burgers...

you will get served but if it is a busy hour of the day then you may have to wait for a little while. we did not. have to wait as it was just before the dinner time rush. all our needs were met. we got what we had requested. food was hot. we have no issues

It was a Monday lunchtime and the first working day of September. Technically it was "back to school day" but not many schools go back on that first day, do they? The Metrocentre was busy. We walked in, a family of 6, and waited to be seated. There was one server busying herself at the back but she didn't see us. Eventually, another server (who seemed to be "in charge") appeared through a door and got us seated.We then proceeded to look at the menu. I have to say that I was a little taken aback by the pricing but it was my daughters choice as it was her birthday. I withheld my Yorkshireman "instincts" to mutter "how much?!".It took over 15 minutes for a server to come and take out order. At the time we were seated we were only the 3rd table with anyone sat at it.We seemed to wait an awfully long time for the food to arrive. Annoyingly the sides (chilli-cheese nachos and some chips) arrived way before the actual burgers did. They were definitely cool by the time they did and I was actually about to ask for them to be taken back when the server arrived with the burgers. Remember: these were "sides" not "starters".Once we have finished, and to be fair the food was nice so our plates were empty, it again took far too long for either of the 2 service staff to notice, despite is being a table they had to pass in order to go to their station and kitchen. They came to take the plates and I had to remind them that two of our children had ordered kids meals that came with ice cream.We were now really pressed for time, so we asked for the ice creams to go. They were fin with that. But I had to laugh when they brought them over. They must serve these icecreams in a bowl with an up-turned cone on top. They had recreated this in a plastic pint glass. When I asked how they expected our children to eat that they sent us away with two long metal spoons and told me to "just keep them".Aside from the tasty food I was left very disappointed by this food outlet. Poor service and high prices (for what is still a burger) let it down for me. I have to say that £3.50 for a small bowl of standard chips is pushing the boundary of taking the p*ss in my book.We won't be going back, to either this outlet or any of it's others.

Me and my wife visited here with our 8 month old son, after a shopping trip in the Metrocentre. The place was empty, only one other set of customers. We placed our orders I went for the "Slow and low" Burger and my wife wife went for the D.B. Cheese Burger, and also a side of chips we also ordered two refillable soft drinks. Despite being the only other customers in the restaurant the food took 25mins to arrive, our drinks had also not arrived at this point so we reminded the waitress and she said she had forgot about them and went to get us the drinks. The food itself was really nice, I enjoyed my burger and my wife also did and the chips were also clearly freshly cut and cooked to order albeit rather small in portion. We then asked for the bill and as we had a Tastecard the whole meal only came to £19.60, which isn't too bad in terms of price however if we didn't have a Tastecard the price would have been closer to £30.00 which for two people is not good value for money. I take issue with the menu because most burger places as standard the burger comes with chips whereas here the burger is literally just a burger which somehow is the same price as a burger and chips elsewhere and then you have to add chips which costs and extra £3.00. They do have a deal on sides where if you buy 3 sides it costs £10.00 this is clearly a ploy to try and get couples and big groups to buy extra sides they don't need to make it look like you're saving money. Anyway I digress, when I did ask for the bill and the waitress brought it over I informed her I would be paying by card, she said she would be right over, 25mins later she had still not come over to me, I tried to catch her attention a few times but was chatting behind the counter and at the refillable drinks station, in fact my wife had time to leave with our son, go to another shop and come back at which point she went to the till to pay as it was clear the waitress was not coming to us. I would give a 1 out of 5 but the food was good therefore it gets a 2.

Burgers, sides and drinks, excellent. Friendly, quick and helpful service. More expensive than anticipated.

Tea out before cinema, usually food ok here but not this time what a disappointment burger arrived in good time but was bit burnt on outside and looked pinkish on inside told waitress who apologised i didn't wait for new order i decided to leave rest of food didmt have time to wait again

Went there today and he staff there were really friendly and helpful. We ordered 2 burgers and side. The pepper burger was fantastic. My wife had the juicy Lucy and she didn’t realise it would be a bit pink in the middle. We mentioned it to the manager ( James) and he instantly sorted it out for us. The waiter who was serving us apologised too which wasn’t needed at all.

Service was fantastic. Sides were amazing. Prices were a little higher than I like but still within reason. Burgers were good, but it felt like the sides outshone them by a million miles. The restaurant is tucked away in a corner at the back of the food area and unfortunately quiet and lacking ambience, but the staff were lovely and the atmosphere wasn't bad.

£35 for family of 4, using a Kids Pass Kid's eat free voucher. Kids eat free when you buy main, side and drink for an adult. Kids meals also come with a dessert and drink which even at £5.95 is good value. We ordered a burger each 3 portions of chips, onion rings and 2 kids meals, 2 portions of chips would have been enough for the 4 of us I would say. Chips were the best part of the meal, great fresh cut chips - the chips set this place aside from other burger restaurants in my opinion! Goof choice of options on the menu for burgers and side, we both went bunless.

The Metrocentre restaurant was empty when we arrived at 1.30pm, the other restaurants in the food court were busy which should have been a warning sign... I ordered a burger with a gluten free bun and my partner ordered a burger with pastrami but was later told this wasn’t available and was replaced with bacon instead. When the burgers arrived the patties were dry and over cooked and the gluten free bun came in a sealed plastic bag, it was warm, like it had been microwaved and was so dry! My partner said his burger was tasteless and ended up sending it back, he didn’t want anything else so the cost was taken off the bill. My burger was ok so I ate it but it definitely wasn’t worth £10! We have been here before on a few occasions and been happy with the food but it appears to have gone down hill in the last year. Very disappointed

Visited Handmade burger today for my husband's birthday, it's his favourite place, he was overjoyed that the peanut butter burger is back! I had juicy lucy - amazing, always great food here...James couldn't do enough for us, very friendly & helpful. Keep up the good work & we'll be back soon.

Brilliant place hidden in the corner food is amazing highly reccomend the cajun chicken burger, the staff are lovely too.

Been here a few times now always enjoy the food but the staff always make it that little more special! James is always a pleasure to chat with and is such a happy guy. A Credit to your company. Tasha and Andy x

This place is a little hidden gem in the metro centre. I can never understand why it’s so quiet all the time as the food is absolutely gorgeous and the staff are nothing short of wonderful.

Visited for the first time today after cinema to find the place almost empty. Not a good sign on a Saturday afternoon. Greeting from server was very friendly and we were able to pick where we sat. Drinks order was taken and delivered quickly as was our food order. When the burgers came they were large and well filled with bacon cheese and salad. Taste was fantastic, meaty and juicy with a great flavour BBQ sauce. Server was attentive without being overbearing and refilled drinks before they were fully drained so we always had something there.

Visited on Thursday for dinner time and was seen and seated straight away. Our server was a lovely lady who went out of her way to make sure we were all happy with our orders etc (wish I caught her name as she was fab!) I ordered sweet potato fries and the veggie bean burger and wow. So great!

We stopped here for lunch whilst shopping at the Metro Centre, Gateshead. The decor was clean and tidy and the staff friendly . We were shown to our table by Laura and ordered drinks. I have recently developed a lactose intollerance and wanted to make sure that there would be something on the menu I would like and could eat. I was introduced to Damon who questioned me further about my intollerance and gave me a brief explanation of how their food is cooked and any cross contamination minimised. I chose a burger with peppered mayo in a vegan bun with vegan cheese and my husband chose a vegan buger with sweet potato and ginger, and some sweet potato fries. Both meals were tasty, filling, value for money and Laura and Damon were friendly and sociable.

Went with family for lunch. Seemed to be understaffed. Food came out very quick though! Sadly it was poor standard. I ordered the Mexican and the burger itself was slightly warm but as all her ingredients and bun were stone cold it was freezing and I sent it back. Their second attempt wasn’t much better the burger slightly warmer was all! Chips were good. Girls were pleasant. £5 milkshake was awful and just milk basically. £60 later we feel dissapointed and won’t be returning.

Service was really slow when we visited (they were very busy though) and the burgers were OK but really nothing special.

Ok – the bottom line is – the burgers (the actual patty) are completely delicious. They came slightly pinkish in the middle – a sure sign of freshness. A burger from say – McDonald's will always come cardboard-grey, meaning it’s been frozen since the ice-age. How does HMB’s offering stack up against a Whopper? To be fair, the comparison was not equal in this instance; I got their more expensive Avocado & Bacon and a Mexican; both of which had so many toppings – it was just a mush of textures and flavours threatening to mask the beef patty’s taste. But – amazingly, the patty’s flavour shone through - on both styles – showing great quality. I should have opted for the Classic HMB which would have made the comparison with a Whopper – more equal. I suspect if I had done that – the HMB would have been slightly better in overall quality and taste. The Classic HMB was cheaper too; so if you’re looking for a classic taste – the err – “Classic” would be a better choice. The place looks ok; not too American and clean. The lone serving waiter – was nice and friendly and very helpful; but what makes me give them a 5/5 is that they still have “full-fat” sugar Coke on a re-fill glass. If this is really the case – then they’ve gone for quality and not for the “Slimming World” nonsense; it’s also more expensive for them because of the sugar tax. If you’ve come here to eat – you’re not bothered about your weight; you’re here to enjoy your beef! (the chips were not too exciting – the only let-down)

Visited today having visited previously and had a very tasty meal on that occassion. Today however we took advantage of the lunchtime special i opted for the classic chicken burger but did not take the option to "double down" on my burger. How dissapointed was i when my burger arrived to find that the chicken ( which had been a nice sized succulent portion on my previous visit) had been replaced by a very thinly cut sliver of chicken which was about 1/5th the size of normal chicken breast. The burger was tasty but did nothing to assuage my hunger most disappointing. If you are hungry i would avoid this place at lunchtime .

My partner and I visited the handmade burger co as we had a voucher on the back of a cinema ticket for 2 burgers for £10.95. We were served by Becca who was absolutely faultless. She couldn’t have done enough for us and was so smiley and polite. The drinks came so quick and the food not long after. The burgers are absolutely off the scale for tastiness. We were blown away by how nice and full of flavour they were. James then helped us sort the bill and cleared our plates for us and he is so pleasant and funny. Becca and James together were lovely and really made us feel welcome. We will definitely be returning to this store for more scrumptious food and impeccable service.

Had to wait a good 5 mins to be seated as the two waiting staff ran around. The manager sitting down doing the books and totally uninterested. Eventually were seated but then we asked to Move.

Very friendly efficient service. That’s where the good news ended. Very cheap buns, burgers over cooked, dry, small and lacking flavour, chutney horrible. Chips tasted raw and nothing was approaching hot. Burgers at GBK are far better but sadly they have closed at Metrocentre.

Unplanned visit but we saw the sign offering a burger, side and drink deal. The guy that served us was very friendly and welcoming. We were served quickly and the burgers were large, hot and very tasty. The restaurant and toilet facilities were very clean. This is a great place to call in when on a big shopping spree.

Called in today for a burger and we were more than happy with service and staff right from the start cannot recommend this place enough we are definitely coming back you can keep maccy d and burger king if you want a real beef burger don't hesitate get your backsides in here 10 out of 10 all day long .

I was reluctant to even enter this establishment yesterday but I am so glad I did. Being a bit of a chain snob I did not hold out much hope. How wrong I was! Well gauged service, knowledgable staff, amazing food! It doesn’t get much better than that. if you want a burger then this is one of the best I’ve eaten. We were asked how we would like it cooked and cremated was not on the menu! Succulent burger, crisp salad, fresh bun, well seasoned, hot food, clean crockery and cutlery. Their coffee was a welcome surprise as well, strong but well rounded, good even taste. Will definately call in again. Thank you.

We went here for a burger the other day with our family. Great selection of burgers, outstanding ingredients. Very fresh! Had some cocktails as well (2-4-1, awesome!!) special thanks to our host Damon, great lad. There was one point of attention, the music wasn’t exactly what I expected. It didn’t really fit. That was all though. When wandering around MetroCentre, I’d recommend swinging by here.

Visited today and was very disappointed with the service received. First, I was told the fish finger burger is no longer on the menu. This is a burger I have had since this place first opened. The food was ok, chips greasy but the burger was nice. The main issue was the service received from a waitress with bright blue hair. She literally threw our food at us, rolled her eyes when we asked for sauces and honestly could not have cared less about our experience. She also binned my receipt so I had to ask for another. Overall a very disappointing experience which is a shame because this place used to be great.

I enjoyed my chilli burger - flavoursome, fresh ingredients etc. The chips were a bit over brown for me, but that’s personal taste. Nice enough decor for a shopping centre eatery. Kids menu involves a burger, side, ice cream and drink. They liked it.

Staying at the Gateshead Marriott for our 28th Anniversary and walked across to the bewilderingly huge Metro centre.

I’ve been to this restaurant in Newcastle which was fantastic and thought I’d try this one... was very disappointed when me and my partner visited. The staff didn’t seem like they cared I had to go up to the bar to pay the bill in the end after asking several times for the bill. The food was lovely but I was disappointed with the meat itself it was very flat and it was all bun cheese and onions. Overall the food was ok and the service could have been better. I probably won’t return

Just visited. Vegan burgers awesome as always and excellent waiting staff! Good selection of vegan mains and desert appreciated.

We were visiting the nearby cinema and seen a sign outside for a deal on the burgers so we thought we would try. We were shown to our table and our drinks order was taken. Drinks soon arrived and our food order was taken which we could alter the burger as much as we wanted and we ordered the 3 sides which they had a deal on. Food was nice and good portions. Atmosphere was lacking as it was very quiet but food makes up for it.

The food as always was just incredible, truly superb. The service was fast, the food well priced, an all around great meal.

I have ordered peppery burger and Mexican fries, the burger was amazing and tasty. The place is nice and the service was friendly. You can ask for the meat to be Halal as well.

Came here for the first time and both enjoyed and didn't enjoy it. We ordered a veggie burger and chicken burger. A veggie burger and beef burger arrived. Thankfully it didn't bother us too much and we ate the beef burger and it tasted really nice! It's a little pricey but you get a good size burger.

You may think this restaurant is just another burger place but it is so much more, the burgers and chips here have to be some of the best I have ever had in the UK, they are just fantastic, highly recommend.

We had a meal here last week. I got the dirty burger which on the menu was described as “a smaller burger” so I got a double. It was HUGE haha. I mean I am not complaining at that. The maple bacon that was on my burger was delicious as well. We also got the 3 sides for £10 which were ok, the chips were alright, though didn’t have a lot of taste, and the deep fried halloumi was nice. The waiter was lovely, made sure we had everything we need. There wasn’t many people in when we came in, and the place just seems a little quiet.

Visited this place with my friend. While looking through the menu, I mentioned to the waiter how they used to do butterscotch milkshake and it is not on the menu anymore, one of the waiters overheard this and said she can make it for us and it was really nice. We also had chilli burgur and mexican chips both of which were excellent. The 5 stars are for the milkshake and the amazing customer service. They also did student discount.

Went once. Gave us glasses full of ice for our drinks. Ok. Called the waiter and said could he chick some of the ice away for us, he took our glasses and chucked the offending cubes back in the communal ice bin. No way of knowing which cube I sucked but somebody else no doubt had a turn of it as well.

Reopened after being closed with new ownership. Food was quick and tasty and on this occasion just what we wanted. We also cannot fault the service. The waitress on duty knew I was apprehensive about the curry burger and let me taste the sauce in order for me to change my mind. Just needs a bit more atmosphere, there was just something missing. Let’s hope it works the second time around.

I Visited this place with my wife and our 2 young children (17 months and 5 weeks old). Most of the restaurants in the Metrocentre were very busy but we noticed that this restaurant had a few spare tables so decided to try it for the first time.

One of the best tasting burgers we've had in a long time along with the coleslaw. Although it is hiding in the corner of the food court and not as obvious as all the burger places within 50m, make sure you hunt it out. Two others have closed down recently and this one hasn't, there is a reason for that.

Came here today with my family for the first time, considering it's boxing day the place wasn't busy, my girlfriend went to order the food, there was 3 people in front of her and it took 15 mins to take her order as there is only 1 till and the guy taking the order also has to sort our drinks.

Called in Sunday 17th for a meal with my wife Christine . I ordered peppered beef burger which came with salad and onion rings. Christine american cheese burger. Had to order chips extra. Both meals were spot on but tad expensive for burger and chips. Price was £28. Place could have done with some decor or at least Christmas decorations. Staff should have uniform . food and service spot but just nice , nothing special.

Love the burgers from here. Much better than the other burger chain just across the food court. Excellent service as well.

I never normally write reviews but I am making an exception in this occassion. My wife and I ordered a burger a side and a drink each. There was a special offer of burger, side and drink for £14.95. Ironically my burger side and drink would have cost £15.05 without the discount. My wife's would have been £13.90. The bill was £31.10. Not a huge discrepancy I know but a point of principle non the less. I raised the error with the young waitress, who's service was exemplary, at which point the manager interjected proceeding to tell me that she was an engineer and the bill was not incorrect; implying that I was thick and unable to add numbers up. When I asked her to do me the courtesy of checking the bill she aggressively spun the till screen around to prove herself correct. A chef who witnessed the situation suggested using a calculator to check the bill as the till can make errors. It was proven that I had been overcharged but the manager still wanted the last word and decided to run everything through the till again. Unbelievable! Fortunately one of the chefs stepped in and reimbursed me which was not his responsibility but a touch of class clearly lacking by the manager in charge. She needs to rethink her whole demeanour as my experience at this establishment has been soured when a little common courtesy and decency would have transformed the experience. The food would have scored 4 or 5, as would the service by all barring the on duty manager whos customer service was a zero.

I visited on a Saturday lunch time with my mam and sister. the staff were very friendly and showed us to our table. We ordered the chilli burgers and an original burger and chips on the side. We were pleasantly surprised to find the chips were hand cut proper chips not frozen and the burgers were decent burgers and really spicey just the way I like them, The buns were also really nice not brioche which seem to be a trend every other eatery is using. Our waiter told us he was the kitchen manager but spends time out in the restaurant to get a good picture of what the customers think of the food which is an excellent idea in my opinion. Well done. The only criticism I would give is that I hate the Americanism of being greeted as guys and my mam had a cup of tea which wasn't hot but it's very hard to find a hot cup of tea any where these days.

Family day out - great meal - excellent service and with a toddler very good care of allergies.Interesting specials and altogether an enjoyable lunch.

I was near the outlet when I got their email offering a burger for £5. I went to see the menu at the entrance and a guy, I later learned was called Smiler, very skilfully persuaded me to enter.He was indeed very smiley and pleasant, a credit to the brand, he went on to tell me which burger was his favourite and the drink he preferred. I took both pieces of advice and he wasn't wrong! The fried chicken with sweet chilli, normally just under a tenner, was a generous sized, tasty offering and the elderflower fizz hit the spot, I even managed a free refill. My garage rang to say my car was ready so I paid, leaving a decent tip, happy with all parts of my experience.

Normally wouldn't have been our first choice, and now I know why. Couldn't fault the friendliness of our server, she was super helpful with explaining the menu etc, but the food was really poor compared to other options out there. All sides were extra, so I literally had a burger in the middle of a plate, which managed to be both raw and burned at the same time, we shared loaded fries which were A- not cooked in the middle and B- had an overall sweet BBQ sauce. For our 27 pounds (2 mains, 1 side and 2 soft drinks) I would rather have gone to Five Guys.

Surprised by great veggie options and great for gluten free too. Separately wrapped bun. Fries and desserts also available in gluten free. Very happy!

We stopped off at this place whilst shopping at the metro centre, situated in the food court. We were greeted by very nice staff, shown to a seat. We choose the lunchtime menu with a refillable drink. Lovely chips,plenty of burgers to choose from. Very nicely presented. Served hot. Very tasty. Staff kept checking to see if we needed drink refills. Very nice and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Six friends and I visited the Handmade Burger Co today for lunch. When it was suggested that we have a burger for lunch - I thought that we were just visiting another fast food burger joint - wrong!!!!!I decided on Chicken Breast, Brie and Cranberry burger with a side order of Fresh Cut Chips. The butterflied chicken breast was cooked to perfection and was topped by 2 unctuous wedges of quality brie and a generous slather of cranberry sauce. My friends chose various burgers from the extensive menu and they to were highly delighted with their meal.A few of my friends decided on the Handmade Sundaes, which they declared to be a delicious indulgence! I settled for a freshly brewed cappuccino coffee as I had no space for another morsel!!The highlight of my visit was the excellent customer service provided by staff - who clearly enjoyed their jobs.Our order was taken by a very helpful young lady called Aliana (sorry if this is not the correct spelling) and the delightful Smiler and Alan - who not only catered for our every request but provided excellent banter and entertainment. They truly enhanced our customer experience and are a credit to the Handmade Burger brand.Needless to say - will be back soon.

I always enjoy eating here, the burgers are always great, and especially the handcooked chips. There is a great choice of burgers and staff are always pleasant. It is quite expensive however.

Recently visited Handmade Burger Company in the metrocentre, gateshead with a group of friends. Staff were very welcoming. Our waitress Kirsty was extremely helpful and delivered great hospitality. I tried the dirty fried onion burger which lived up to its name, very juicy with a delicious burger sauce. I went for the fresh cut chips which are simple but very tasty handmade chips- can't wait to try the bbq and cheesy chips next time! I also tried the new frizzy drink which was great as it was refill! Can't wait to visit again.

Tried this place as Wagamamas was closed as they had a gas leak and this was more or less adjacent. This will be the first and last time they will have the opportunity to fleece me for a very ordinary and overpriced burger in a noisy and lacklustre environment.I thought I would try their classic. It comes with nothing, so you need to order sides as extras. I went for chips and coleslaw. My guest went for the same but with the 'Jimmys Farm' mature beef burger.The service was quick and efficient and the food turned up in good time. Not surprisingly as the place was empty. My burger was noteworthy for its ordinariness and blandness. The bun was soggy, the burger was plastered with somekind of sweet relish with a single lettuce leaf and a thin slice of tomato inside. The more expensive 'Jimmys Farm' offering was more or less the same. Interestingly neither of us could tell which burger was which... they were just bland meat patties. The chips looked great, they clearly started life as being a spud but I'm not sure that they were fried. They had all the hallmarks of being an oven chip, albeit a somewhat upmarket one.The BIG shock came when we got the bill. £34+ for two burgers, two sides of chips, one coleslaw and two diet cokes. The diet cokes were £2.60 each for a teeny bottle!! So, if you want a bland, overpriced burger in an exceptionally noisy environment this IS the place for you.

omg! what a fantastic place. would recommend. the team was fantastic with my aunt who is in a wheelchair. great service, respectful, pleasant, prompt and attentive. food was lush burger was tasty which i cannot wait to go again, im drooling thinking about it. thanks to the team it was a very good dinning experience.

Lovely staff and great food - quality all round. The burgers were as good as home cooked and the chips oil free and crisp. kids loved it. The desert was excellent also. We Totally recommend visiting Handmade Burger in the Metrocentre!

Great meal. Burgers tasted as good as steak. Chips crispy with scranchy and Pironi cold. Service attentive but not intrusive.

Used to love handmade, went yesterday and slightly disappointed. Menu changed to try to compete with new restaurants i imagine, good choice and some nice burger options. Chips used to be fantastic now they taste deep fried from frozen (hardly freshcut)Burger was good buns not as good as they used to be. Shame really. Better places in metro now.Stopping refillable drinks is also badKelsie our servicer was very good!

The taste of the burgers here at Handmade Burger Co are delicious. The food is presented very professional with great tastes to assist. Service is good and the food is very fresh. A show kitchen in corner is nice to see and it reveals how freshly prepared all of the meals here are.Very impressed and I will return. Until next time, thank you indeed!Craig

First time here. Very good service, friendly staff who talked us through the menu and made recommendations. So many choices of burgers, you can make your own burger and request the burger come without the bun. Chips sold separately to the burgers but at a reasonable price. Both members of the party thoroughly enjoyed their meals. High quality burgers and delicious chips, topped off with a delicious milkshake. Worth a visit, will definitely be returning.

Three of us went there for a burger meal last night. Parked in the Metro car park (free), then walked to the restaurant which was not to far away especially with a gammy hip. Reception was friendly and obliging. The meal was absolutely delicious. Knocks spots off Macthingy. Staff great. The wine was a bit overpriced. The place itself lacked a bit of atmosphere/ style. However if you are in good company, that makes up for that.

Food ok.... "smaller burger" very tiny...wish salad was iceberg lettuce & trimmings rather than watercress & rocket - these leaves are more expensive and harder to swallow- or is that just me?...Coleslawa bit bland. Waiter service nice. Background music too loud and unnecessary.

Tried here after a "friend" recommended it..... One one trash is another mans gold ! Average burger, everything else is an "added extra" and the drinks are priced to Scandanavian standards.. So what starts as a cheap eat turns into restaurant prices for bland Burger King meals.... Dont bother !

The seating areas are lovely, you can build your own burgers, quite a selection to choose from, chips in a bucket, which is always nice

This has got to be the worst service I have ever received from a restaurant. We stood at the entrance for at least 5 mins to be seated only for the waiter (who looked like a manager) to drop the menus on the table and run off without saying a word. Our drinks were taking that long I had to ask the waitress to get them. Not only rude waiting staff but the wrong order came and had to wait 10 mins for a new burger - needless to say everything else was freezing cold by the time it came. I will not be returning here!

Been to handmade burger company a lot and the food is always lovely but the last 2 visits I have made I have waited a very long time to be served and in the end I have had to ask one of the waitresses to serve me as I was waiting that long and they were all just walking past me even though they could tell we wanted to order.

We've been coming to the HBC long before the Qube was extended. It has always been friendly and delicious burgers. Unfortunately on our last visit alot has changed. The burgers are alot smaller and although tasty, no longer value for money. The menu is less interesting (bring back the Yorkshire pudding burger!) and the service was painfully slow. In the past you couldn't actually pick up one of their burgers to eat, now you can easily and we left feeling unsatisfied. They seem to be going backwards and maximising profit. Probably not sensible considering the increased competition available now right next door.

We decided to try the Handmade Burger Company after a night at the movies and we were left feeling underwhelmed!On the evening we visited there was only one other table of 2 so service wasn't an issue but sadly the food didn't live up to its billing or indeed our expectations.The menu itself whilst extensive was essentially a reworking of the same core ingredients i.e. burgers and chips plus a selection of drinks including shakes which by the way were far and above the best part of our meal.Along with the main menu you'll find a selection of special offer flyers but beware - they not neccasarily as good value as they first seem particularly if you fall for the up sell i.e. "would you like chips with that". If you say yes you''ll be charged extra even though the special offer will more than likely come with an ample supply of chips on the side.The food itself took a little while to arrive which we expected as we assumed it was being cooked to order and when it did arrive it was well presented - now for the negatives!Both Mrs Wanderer and I found our burgers to be way over seasoned with salt and despite our best efforts we had little choice but to resort to sipping a mouthful of shake with each bite of burger in an attempt to dilute the salt. The accompanying chips were also served lukewarm and as such they were a bit on the soggy side for our liking. It was almost as though the chips had been re-fried in warm oil rather than hot oil, perhaps because the fryers had already been turned off for the night and the oil was being allowed to cool before closing. We did mention both issues to our server who simply said “I’ll mention it to the kitchen staff” but he failed to offer either a replacement or an alternative!Given that there a number of other burger outlets nearby Mrs Wanderer and I won’t be in a hurry to return to the Handmade Burger Company anytime soon!

I popped in here to use credits on my loyalty card. I had been shopping so had a few bags with me. Burger and fries were very tasty. House red wine was good quality. Waitress was very helpful and friendly. I recommend that you try this place!

There's every burger you could imagine and more. We often go here, great food and service is ok but to be fair, you order yourself at the till and it's self serve for soft drinks, so there's not a lot for the staff to do to rate them fairly when they simply carry plates to your table.

We stopped here for a meal whilst shopping on Christmas eve.We were greeted promptly by a pleasant young Lady who let us choose out table which is good as i dont like to be on show while i attack my food. While we pondered out meal choice we had a very pleasant German lager that really hit to spot.Decided as time was scarce that we would forego starters and have burgers. Our chosen meals landed promptly and were well presented and well cooked,The beef used in the burgers was very tasty. Only downside was that the tables were a bit grubby and needed a good clean but with it being the busy festive period i guess we can let that one pass. Overall a very good place to drop in for a bite to eat.

The food and staff here are always top notch, having been a few times now, it's always a good place to go with lots of variety and usually some good deals!

I had heard good things about the handmade burger co so decided to go here for a family's special occasion. In short, the waitress who served our table was rude with no regard for paying customers... She tried to bill us for two tables exceeding £115.00 when ours alone was £80.00 - We received no apology and in the end the manager had to resolve the issue and added credit onto our table for the hassle. The food was lovely, but with the metro centre having other great restaurants with both lovely food and great customer service, I doubt we will return.

Loved the choice of different beef and chicken and all the different burgers. The wait wasn't bad but we were informed that a burger in preparation had fallen to bits and it would be another 10 minutes. To be honest they didn't need to tell me this and the wait wouldn't have been too bad anyway, but we were offered various freebies in compensation. This is proper customer service and is what I would hope any good eatery would do, but in reality so few would have said anything.The staff seem to genuinely care about your experience. Well done all concerned.The blue cheese on my burger was VERY tasty and the burger was real quality.

I had a selection of 3 mini burgers the first time I went and they were all really tasty. If you like a good meaty burger this won't disappoint.

Visited this place after a shopping trip. Was a bit put off that you had to go and order at a counter and pour your own drinks as the prices were similar to that of tgi's however the food was amazing. Home made chips. Obviously freshly cooked food. Wow wow wow.Will Defo return.

I paid a visit to this eatery with my friend after a strenuous afternoons shopping. We both ordered the Mexican burger with Mexican chips. Firstly, the Mexican burger is supposed to come with a rather larger tortilla crisp in the middle, to which it was not present in both burgers.We then waited almost ten minutes for this to be rectified to which our burgers were cold, however we already suspected they weren't that hot to start off with. So off they went back to the kitchen to be reheated.Another problem was, for the price you pay, you'd expect the burgers to be fresh! The menu, and the place kind of threatens that whole 'we cook our burgers fresh from scratch' malarkey. They weren't fresh, the burgers tasted as though they were pre cooked earlier (in the day) and just warmed up. Bad!!There was no chipotle sauce in our Mexican chips, and the layer of cheese wasn't even melted to the correct standards of which you'd expected it to be!The manager who apparently goes by the name 'Smiler' had to bring out the chipotle sauce. Also there was no mango sauce present for my side of halloumi (which was promised on the menu), and the cheese itself was bad I though. We also had a side of BBQ chicken wings.Basically, everything was of a substandard quality and tasted as if it were just warmed up in the microwave. I was not happy about this. And despite the manager 'Smiler's' efforts to be humorous, it just didn't work I thought. At least the sprite I had was decent through....I'll probably not go back there for a while. The trouble we had, we wouldn't even get that at McDonald's.

My daughter in law and I went to the odeon cinema and there was a voucher for the handmade burger co with the tickets so we went there it was 5.30pm only 3 tables in use we ordered our burgers and a side of slaw and chips the burgers were over cooked and dry the slaw watery and tasteless not good at all I used to be a fan of this restaurant not any more even with the voucher a waste of money
