Muffin Break in Gateshead

The staff at the Muffin Break always give excellent customer service even at their busiest times. The shop is always clean and tidy and food is displayed nicely. Highly recommend

I was at the metro muffin break with my daughter a couple of days ago,and may I say what lovely friendly and cheerful staff you have.They are a credit to you I hope this is filtered through to the metro centre Muffin Break as it’s nice to be appreciated.

Excellent staff and a family-friendly atmosphere. Good coffee and good food, at a relatively competitive price.

We always have good service at muffin break but today was exceptional. Thank you to the staff today came in with my disabled daughter and the staff could not have done enough. Coffee and food was excellent my daughter thoroughly enjoyed it. We will be back soon. Thanks again

Keep serving customers and all tables are absolutely messy and not cleaned all dishes on every single table and expecting customers to clean and collect dishes from table themselves! I've asked for a try to clean the table and one of staff never even said sorry, never said we will come and clean them ..she just gave me the tray to clean it for them! Shocking .. I don't think there is a manger there to mange things ...and of course so expensive..with this situation! Sorry Never again ..

Toasted sandwich = two slices of bead could just make out the filling. Bit of pickle and could just say find the cheese £5.90 what a rip off. Waitress washing up threw the pots around so much you couldn't hear yourself think let alone talk. She had ear phones in so couldn't hear how loud she was being. Would not come back

Smashing cappuccinos, great staff. Perfect place for a pit stop, or to sit while the other half is shopping.

Lady at the till is by far the most rude person I have ever met...

Just had a really good Gyros flatbread, but experience was spoiled by the amount of dirty plates and trays lying about the outside seating area,

Great service, very helpful and friendly staff. Delicious food. My fruit scone was lovely - crunchy outside and soft inside without being stodgy or heavy - delicious. Hubbys Biscoff cheesecake was totally scrummy too. A good cup of coffee alongside. Made a great start to shopping.

Wat a waste of money and let us not talk about customer service horrible attitude. I can live with avg or below avg food but Customer service really need to look. Never again

Good venue for a coffee and snack staff excellent pleasant and friendly worth a visit.

Avoid at all cost. I bought a TGTG bag and this was the type of muffin that was given. The inside was white and tasted powdery. The other for comparison, is chocolate but bland. Wrote to them but got no reply.

The muffins at Muffin Break are undoubtedly the star of the show. They are baked to perfection, with a crispy exterior and a soft, fluffy interior. Each bite is a heavenly experience, and it's tough to resist going back for seconds.

Very busy and had to chase up melted cheese sandwiche order.

Best to drink tea here. Noticed that the coffee baskets aren't fully cleaned before ground coffee is added for next order thus creating a bitter taste. Although it was a busy lunchtime the service at the counter had a chaotic feel about it. Slightly disorganised. Very noisy at the back of the shop as they collect and stack the dishes. Not good for an ambient atmos! Sandwich was fresh, bread soft. Can't go wrong with a Tetley teabag and a pot of hot water.

Muffin break..... The worst muffin I have eaten... You'll know why your tongue it's itchy after you have finished your muffin.... Must have been on the shelf forever... Very disappointed... Good coffee.. only.

Good place for a coffee or tea plenty choice for a snack

Stopped at “Muffin break” before the stores opened. Very quiet in the morning, it was great! Hot chocolate was delicious and so was the muffin. The staff were super sweet and loved the ambiance.

Order we got was awful and not like how we wanted it. Lady asked me if I wanted cream on my coffee I said no but when I received my coffee there was cream on it anyway???? The coffee was about 90% milk and barely any coffee taste to it and it was barely even warm when we asked for it to be extra hot. And had The staff were so rude there were 2 ladies working there and the one wearing glasses was so rude and there was another man there and he was even more rude and very ignorant. The store was closing at 6 and we had like 30 mins before we had to leave and the man begun turning over the tables while purposely banging hard other chairs and tables on the chairs we were sitting on literally caught me off guard he's clearly trying to tell us to go away even though the store closes in half an hour and there were other customers there too. Don't recommend anyone to come here it's supposed to be a chill place but it turned out to be an absolute disaster. 3rd time this has happened. Never going back.

Coffee is ok, muffins are lovely. Prices are really bad though for anything but coffee - especially for basic bottles of water. There used to be a high minimum payment by card, but I'm not longer sure if that's still in place.

My favorite coffee shop in the Metro Centre. Good coffee good snacks excellent friendly service.

Coffee tastes like sewage. Never looking at this place again let alone coming back. Very expensive too. £11 for 2 coffees and a water.

The lady who took my order was nice and polite. Unfortunately the girl who made my coffees was quite rude after I complained about my single espresso. She said the grinder needs fixing so she can’t make a better coffee….shame it’s a coffee shop

Came in to do some work only to find out that all of the sockets are out. Was told the electrician just didn’t come back.

Always come here with my mum under normal circumstances. Love the flat white and muffins and the staff are all lovely, it's a big miss not being able to visit.

I've gone here for many yrs infact since it opened its perfect for coffee tea cakes scones sandwiches

Just bought a too good to go box. Tried one of the gluten free muffins. Delicious thank you for recommending it.

Amazing experience, sitting here now on 3rd August 2020 at 16:23, the lady behind the counter was very friendly and kindly let me know they where taking part in the government scheme, as a result of her friendly attitude, I was sold and decided to upgrade my small coffee to a large and take a bite to eat. Coffee and a sandwich for less than £4, amazing, and it was delicious. Would recommend even without the scheme, located on the ground floor opposite Primark, handy for a dad who is happy to let the wife and daughter head off shopping. Also really clean and set out well in the current climate.

Had the most horrible cheese and red onion toastie ever!!!! Rubbery Cheese slices !!!! And the red onions were brown mush!!!!!!! Never again!!!!!!! Staff were ignorant !!!!!
