Everything was handmade and incredibly tasty. Fresh ingredients, perfect flavors, and beautiful presentation made this one of the best sushi experiences I’ve ever had. Highly recommend!

Exceptional. Cozy spot we dropped into after visiting Kew Gardens, we were able to walk right into a seat at about 2pm. The food was of excellent quality.

Simply the best sushi place in London. It gets really busy but worth the wait. Every Single Item is freshly made right in front of you. Recommending to Ask for chef special. You wont regret it. Hanana sushi needs to be known so a lot more people can experience the real japanese cuisine without even leaving thr country.

Best sashimi/sushi I've had in the area. I went for the first time today after going past it for 5 years since living in London, and I wasn't disappointed!! I had a sashimi sharing platter, the salmon and the tuna were delicious, and I had some yummy chicken gyoza too. The chef was friendly and keen to tell us about the cuts of fish we were having, the service was great. I will absolutely be going back soon to start fill out my loyalty card!

My favourite sushi restaurant in London. Been here a few times and the food is amazing every time! Also interesting being able to watch the chef work. Small place without many seats available, but I find this adds to the experience.

Exceptional. My first time in such a restaurant. Loved the tuna nigiri. The chef explained that it was a prized cut we were being served and my goodness he wasn't wrong. Now I know why people love tuna sushi! Will definitely go back here for another special occasion! Almost forgot to mention the prawn tempura. Sooooooo good too 😀

The best and the freshest sushi in London 🤩

The wife and I stopped off here for lunch, it was the best sushi we have had. We got the Hanana sushi set and we especially liked the Hanana futomaki which was delicious!

My favorite place for lunch! Have been here hundreds times. The only place in Richmond where you can taste real sushi, maki and donburi for a fair price. This is a boutique small cafe only for 7-8 people maximum. But it is worthwhile. The owner and chef is a nice guy that works his whole life as a sushi chef. Well done! Richmond became much more attractive with your cafe.

The food was amazing and authentic with such a big portion! Amazing chef and superb customer service.

Very poor hygiene. Wearing gloves doesn’t make it hygienic if the same gloves are used to clean the bar, collect empty dishes and rearrange furniture and make sushi. Sashimi didn’t taste or smell fresh.

I've been here before and it was generally good. This time maybe the chef was having an off day. Sushi was very rushed and poorly done with rice overload, it also tasted vinegary, strange.

The best sushi I have ever had. It is the most authentic Japanese sushi bar in London. It feels like you are in Japan. Very fresh food. The tuna (Toro) is divine, it is like eating butter, it melts in your mouth. Great atmosphere, and the chef is super nice. My family and I are regular customers and we highly recommend it.

Amazing food, service is impeccable and the atmosphere is the closest I've found outside of Tokyo to a proper, small, intimate sushi bar. They can only feasibly sit 6 people which only adds to the sense of authenticity. Worth the journey for even if you're not in Richmond 10/10

The Sheaf is a master and the produce he uses first rate. I would give more stars if I could. It’s food you want to take to a dark room and be left alone with.

It’s a lovely restaurant with great food. I recommend the eel donburi and soft shell crab tempura. Sashimi is the thickest one I’ve had in London. It’s clearly hand made, I’ll be back again.

The service is not good. As a customer, I do not feel that welcome vibe. Theres no smile and the guy seem impatient with me. I used to travel to Japan and I know what I expect from a Japanese resturant.

i come here once every couple weeks the food never disappoints and the owner is always so lovely providing great service and great conversation. would definitely recommend to people who love fresh and tasty sushi. i’ve been to many sushi restaurants even big ones like Nobu but Hanana is still number 1 for me :)

Very authentic and delicious jap rest

Best Japanese food I have had. Food was freshly made in front of us. Had a lovely conversation with the friendly chef who was knowledgable about the food and different combination to have - the food reflected his expertise. Food came 10 minutes after ordered and tasted delicious, succulent and fresh. The restaurant's Japanese atmosphere and ambience - alongside with the relaxing music being played in the background made our experience a 10/10. Can not recommend this spot any more if you live or visit Richmond, definitely will come back here! Thank you to the amazing chef!

Hidden gem. A truly unique and authentic sushi experience - exceeds expectations every time! I’ve probably eaten here more than 30 times and will eagerly continue. Gluten free options and gf tamari sauce. Get the drink of your choice from across the street as there is no alcohol license.

My 6 years old and myself had a show at Richmond theatre so decided to stop by this well rated Japanese restaurant for some lunch. It was very small so we decide to just order a take away. The sashimi were badly cut with some bones in it. Quality of the salmon was not great with quite a lot of fat. Disappointing.

The restaurant is small with only 8 seats, the table was sticky to the point where my bowl was stuck. Food was not what we expected to be, we ordered a sushi and seafood bento and it came out with 3 pieces of maki that had no fish in it, the fried seafood with rice was wet and not fresh.

This is our favourite local restaurant. Excellent fresh sushi prepared right in front of you. It's a very small space, so you get great attention and service from the wonderful chef. We love the prawn tempura uramaki and the spicy tuna uramaki, too.

This is the best value - price/quality ratio - not just in Richmond but in the whole of Greater London. The owner chef is an expert and a great guy too. Always delivers spanking fresh sashimi and sushi, other interesting buts and pieces on the menu, and always ask for recommendations as some dishes are seasonal.

Unbelievably good sushi. We stayed at the Orange Tree Hotel a couple of doors down, and tried take away from here. Wow! Everything was fresh, delicious and expertly made. The salmon sashimi salad was perfect, with a dressing that worked perfectly with the fish and lettuce. The sushi rolls were tasty and a good size for the price. The large platter has a signature roll that is unique to this shop (the chef proudly pointed it out to me). It was really amazingly good. Great find! Note: they only have room for six to eat at a time. Bring patience!

The food was absolutely stunning and delicious! Friendly staff, would recommend to come early as it gets busy and they only have 6 chairs.

I was intrigued, given the great reviews and would love a delightful local sushi place. However, I would say this place is just average and one notch higher than Itsu, as the sushi is served at room temperature vs being from a refrigerator. However, the quality of the fish and texture of the rice is nothing to write home about.

Hanana Sushi is a cozy little restaurant where the chef prepares the sushi in front of you. The service is friendly and pretty quick. The food is delicious. If you ask questions the chef will give you all of the explanation you need. The hanana futo is their creation and it is a real specialty. Highly recommended!

I can't go to Richmond any more without finding an excuse to go to this place. The owner is a great guy and a fantastic chef and I love the intimacy of yhe restaurant. Have to second the recommendations on the Hanana Futomaki.
