The team are always welcoming. I’ve never had a bad meal or a bad experience here. I always feel safe and welcome. The food prices are good and a great selection of drinks. If you like a craft beer the team always keep a good selection on hand pull. Typical pub atmosphere, modern, clean and lots of entertainment available in the evenings.

Had an elderly distant relative come visit so we decided on a meal out and as we had used the Hamstead many times before we could guarantee a good service. Due to ill health he could only manage a small dessert instead of dinner but the staff didn't make a fuss of any kind and treated him with utmost respect and kindness. Thanks Leah and team you rock x

I've lived in the area for 24 years and never knew this place existed! Wonderful pub, lovely atmosphere, great decorations, toilets were pristine, great food and the staff were so friendly, especially Keith! As Arnie said I'll be back!😁💗🙏

Lovely family friendly pub lovely bar staff will go out of their way to help you food was excellent we were a party of 10 the food all came out together piping hot we have been a few times now never disappoints great work by all the team

Regularly meet friends on a Tuesday afternoon for some real ale, food and a game of play your cards right. Staff are always friendly and helpful and it's a great afternoon out.

Been here previously and had nice food but after today there is no way I would ever go back. Me and my friend ordered taste of the southern deep, consisted of a chicken fillet, chicken strip, buffalo wings, chips, dirty coleslaw, dirty gravy BBQ sauce and baconaisse sauce. The chicken fillet and strip we coated in Southern coating which was hard as rock with not much chicken inside, the Cajun wings had obviously been cooked and then rolled in Cajun spice so the dry spice powder was falling off, only ate half of one and couldn't eat the others, the dirty gravy was spicy and watery , more like something you would have with samosa but not as tasty. Worst of all the corn on the cob were cold, I mean ICE COLD. That was also inedible. Mentioned this to the waitress who mumbled a sorry then walked off. No proper apologies no offer of a part refund or complimentary dessert. So basically paid £13.49 for 3 mouthfuls of chicken where the coating was too hard and a few chips. Absolutely awful.

If you like good BEER 🍺 this is a fantastic pub. Brewery 🍺 grade A thats cold from the pumps not like the other local pubs that do flat end beera. Pub foods great to. Highly recommended 👌

The pub has a wonderful cosy feel, the food is very good value for money, the drinks options are extensive including cocktails. I highly recommend the Long Island Iced Teas made by Steve and Nathan 🤌

Came in the hamstead 24th February 2024 with family staff were amazing had the best night I could’ve imagined from it! Will deffo be coming again!

This is our go to place every time we come back to Great Barr. Leah and her team are all amazing but a special mention to Steve as he was brilliant with all of us but especially our daughter. Looking forward to our next visit in the New Year

We only visited for few celebraty drinks haven't been for couple of years. Very welcoming and friendly. Loving the new layout. Nxt time will go for a meal as the food looked scrumptious.

Well Carling and vodka and Orange £13.45 need I say anymore. we left after one drink Drove a mile same drinks was £8.55.

Even though I was there for a sad family event, the staff were polite and efficient and served good value and quality real ales

as usual from the minute you walk in you are greeted with the most friendiest staff, and this service lasts throughout your stay, whether you are there for a meal or just popped in for a pint. Megan looked after us on our last two visits and was exceptional.

Popped into the Hamstead after a long day at work feeling tired and a bit fed up, looking forward to a few pints and it was ajoy to find that Megan and Kiran were working. Every time they have the uncanny habit of brightening up my evening.

Friendly staff. Food was very nice. Spoiled by the glasses that were not sparkly .clean Wife had to clean the tops of the glasses .

Yesterday our family visited the Hamstead Pub in Green Lane 6 Adults and 3 Children fir Sunday Lunch. Never been so disgusted in my life with the food .we spent over £85 we had to send 4 meals back 2 were cold mixed grill was burnt. Steak sausage and gammonws black the burger meals were also burnt all unbeatable theyhchangesthe the mixed grill

The looks u get from the regulars in here make u feel very uncomfortable. Its a very clicky pub and it's like they have never seen a person of colour before. Staff were ok but not that friendly tbh food was disgusting but maybe because they were looking for kitchen staff. NEVER LEFT A BAD REVIEW BEFORE BUT FEEL THE NEED TO WITH THIS PLACE

Very clean. Nice staff. Can accommodate events for births and receptions/wakes for funerals. Two separate car parks, but the bays in the smaller car park aren't very big.

Staff are beyond lovely and accommodating. I'm vegan and quite picky about textures so I tend to be the headache of the party. But they are always so nice, helpful, and understanding. I've had their vegan pie once and their vegan burger twice. I prefer the burger but I'd be happy to see their vegan menu expand in the future. I tried their vegan ice cream as well but it was much too sweet for me.

Ok. Just found it loud. Asked the barstaff if they could turn the music down. Apparently they couldn't! It actually got louder. Met a group of old friends. Literally had to shout to each other, on a quiet Wednesday night.!!! For a local pub on an estate ,. Its not Broad Street !

Something as changed at the Hamstead, unfortunately not for the good,.. last week we were served burnt food which had to be sent back, again this week burnt food sent back but replaced with still frozen in the middle substitute. Shame really cuz it's a lovely pub with great friendly staff.

Hosted the wake for a school friend coincidence it was the day of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Excellent buffet prepared. Bar staff patient and polite. Good choice of beers, wine, spirits as well as Tea, coffee etc.

The food here was really good, awesome menu and pub is very nice. A great outside eating area too

There after a funeral but haven't been there in many years and what a lovely pub it is. Nice staff and they provided a fine buffet of hot and cold food. Would go again as I'm sure their meals would be very good quality

Found this little gem. After living in the area for over 20yrs and never visiting it. Wow since our first vist last week we've been back 4 times already for food and drinks. If you like good pub food, cheeky deals and a lovely team to serve you well this pub is for you. The staff and chef are extremely welcoming 🙏 The real ale is also top glass. Thanks guys

I always enjoy an evening at the Hamstead or an afternoon lunch with my friend to catch up on family gossip. Added bonus it's across the road from my house.

Food here has always been lovely, we live local and come here so often. It’s our first choice always when we want pub grub, but unfortunately our last two visits for food have been disappointing, I don’t know who or what has happened but both times after biting into food the middle was stone cold, rushed & just chucked together, quite a shame as we love this little pub, hopefully food becomes great again soon :) staff are ALWAYS pleasant and very very polite all the time, no fault with any staff member , always feel welcome and here.. :)

Quick service and tasty food. Chicken Katsu curry was very good. Uses the My Pub application so you can order food and drink to your table. Lost one star as not sure listing the Ales available as simply Ale 1, Ale 2, Ale 3, etc was particularly helpful as not obvious what you were ordering

Nice food northing was a problem

The sports doesn't work half the time which is pretty annoying when you're watching football etc. Quite pricey here for drinks compared to 90% of the pubs in the area. Most of the staff are nice and the foods quite good and good value for money.
