Have visited this place at a night out with my friends to celebrate and had a great time. We were all amazed by the atmosphere made by the decoration of the place as well as the services and staff. Especially Christos and his popular drinks made a big impression on our group. Never had as good cocktails as his ones. Big Thank You and looking forward to visit the place again. Would recommend to all the people who just wants to relax, have fun and spend a nice time with delicious drinks.

Nice friendly staff and in a nice location. We popped in for last drinks after a show. It did seem slightly expensive which I think was due to it being connected to the Radisson blu hotel.

Visited on Sat 25th Feb. I had garlic mushrooms on sourdough, cheese n broccoli pie and choc n orange bread and butter pudding. My partner had the spinach and goats cheese salad, a burger, and apple crumble and ice cream. Everything was absolutely spot on. No rush in between courses. A great atmosphere and attentive staff. Local resident from the Scoff & Banter restaurant in Canary Wharf. I am always amazed by the warm welcome and the quality of customer service from all members of staff, especially Stephan who always goes that extra mile to make me feel welcome, satisfied with my food (even if that may not be on the menu) and an overall feel good energy once I leave the restaurant. Always a pleasure to see you and to be taken care by yours truly. Thank you & Kindest RegardsFrom your loyal customer Flora

In Leicester Square for an early movie on a Sunday. The Scoff & Banter (S&B) is clearly focused on hotel guests, but they certainly have no problem taking the business of my family of three. We were dressed in business casual. S&B was 15% full and the four staff seemed to be ignoring us as we arrived. Eventually one came and said he would find a table - I could see 20 empty tables (?). When they came back two minutes later we were perfectly placed next to the waiter's station, with all the noise, smells and general unpleasantness of collected plates. Three orders of eggs benedict. One was fine; second was overdone (hard egg) and the third was under the heater so long the hollandaise had dried out and the egg resembled a golf ball. Tea took eight minutes to arrive, without milk. Just a mess at every level.....and we paid £23 + VAT for each of the eggs benedict plus the cost of the OJ, tea and coffee. Wow. I have lived in London 20+ years and this was in the bottom 10% of my experiences. Maybe you are asking why I did not ask for the properly prepared meal once is came back wrong. Well, we did not have time for that; I should not have to 'defend' myself from bad food; and we should al expect our food 100% the first time.

Although we visit London fairly regularly, due to relatives living there, we had never been in the Hampshire before, but were after a pre theatre meal and somewhere to rest our weary legs after a day walking around central London. We viewed the menu, and the prices looked reasonably (At least for this part of London), and went in.We had a couple of drinks whilst looking at the menu, then requested a table for 5. The food was lovely, and found the service to be good......(The food was reasonably priced, though drinks were expensive, but expected that in this touristy part of London anyway.)Location is good, just a couple of minutes walk to most Theatres, and will definitely be returning.

For somewhere so central and with obvious aspirations to be something it's not this hotel and it's ground floor bar restaurant are best avoided. With hindsight I should have recognised the signs - couldn't care less attitude from the maitre d' and a choice of tables all waiting to be cleared were the clues. Beers to drink while we chose our food took 10 mins to come. We checked if they could get us through quickly before we sat down and the snail's pace service only added to our stress levels. We ordered steaks as they need 5-10 mins to cook and 20 mins later were still waiting despite repeatedly chasing up the kitchen via the variety if waiting staff who deigned to grace our table with their ponderous presence. A visit to the bar inside only confirmed the worst - i have never seen more dirty glasses and crockery in full customer view - a disgrace to see and clear evidence of either a staff strike or that it's time for a complete change of team. Horrible. The food eventually arrived without the cutlery or even the side dishes we ordered - tasty enough but impossible to enjoy when you have to bolt it down - £55 for 2 dinners for the privilege. Appalling. Avoid

A great afternoon tea. Such friendly and polite members of staff, nothing is too much trouble. I requested sandwiches with no mayo and asked for 2 lots of 2 sandwiches rather than 4 different ones and this was accommodate with no quibble. Nothing was too much trouble. With 8 sandwiches, a goats cheese tart, 2 scones with jam and cream and 4 deserts each, there was plenty of food and we couldn't manage it all.We had a virgin experience voucher, but we didn't feel we were treated any different or less favourably than the regular customers.Would fully recommend and can't wait to go back again

Our 2nd visit here but only due to its location for people watching and chilling outside. Impersonal staff and maybe a little over priced, A big group were having some kind of celebration in the main area ( we sat outside ) but they were loud and quite obnoxious . . . . Pacing in and out on mobiles like they had never used a phone before we could hear their full conversation and they did come across as the type of people who would certainly put me off again next time . . . Granted its nothing to do with the place its self but shows how standards have slipped .

Dark and moody with gentle music - jazz or mood electronica when we were there - makes for a lovely ambience, and the staff are discreet - sometimes to a fault and you have to coax them into coming to your table, but that just makes it feel more intimate and private - though it's not actually very private.A full range of cocktails are available, all taste wonderful and are presented with flair, and the prices are on a par with the rest of London. We'll be spending an hour or so in here on our next visit.

After my frienda had soent time and effort organising a trip to london for a surprise birthday treat we arrived and the gorgeous hampshire beautifully located. In oar of the interior we were seated quickly. Yhe mood of the day was then to be ruined by what i will call the waitress from hell. After walking over and announcing she "assumed we'd all have breakfast tea" with o introduction or welcome nor a varience or alternative on other teas, which we later found out there was a list of teas more to my tasting. The waitress theb came back and asked which afternoon tea we were having...not knowing there were more than one option the girls promptly showed the lady which we had pre booked and that it stated afternoon tea which we could add a glass of presseco for an extra £7.95...This was instantly dismissed and the lady went on to describe a pink tea (where yoyr food is dyed pink, whether this was for charity we never found out)After a cobfusing and embarrassing conversation and beig denied the offer we then ordered tea and a bottle of presecco....this apparently highly amusing to the waitress who went on to imply later after ordering a second bottle we could not afford...much to our humiliation and anger. The food was promptly brought out with a gluten free option and i must say this now...the food was exsquisite, the chefs should be proud of the light delights of the cakes and scones..such a shame it was tainted with the taste of embarrassment.Aftwr awaiting ti be told what each item was..we waited a long time...when asking another waitress as ours had now disappeared, my birthday wish coming true, asked rudely "why? Do you have an allergy". At which i replied "no. I just prefer to know what i'm eating"....At waljing off to ask the chef the deacription was a s follows "a chocolate one, a lemon one etc" clearly i must look not only poor but unintelligent that i could not work this out myself...Not very good that the foh staff do not know what they are serving...The meal was over and after feeling discriminated against because of reasons unsure... we paid and left...In typical ladies fashion a quick powder room stop happened and whilst waiting in reception for the ladies to re group to take me on to my next surprise and salvage what was a dissapointing high tea...i enjoyed listening to a male member of staff ask very loydly to a colleague..."who are they and why are they hear" i turned to.see him pointing at us...who were quietly stood waiting .... a great end to the whole experience bearing in mind the yound boy had just come off the phone saying, i quote "i know sick bruv"Whether the hmpshire discriminate against under 30's or we had clearly come on a bad day...we had travelled to london for a brilliant weekend and this over shadowed it...Really disgusting behaviour and coming from the hospitality industry a poor diaply of FOH service compared to other high end london afternoon tea hotspots. The price was fair but for what you pay i do not expect to.be treated in anyway..so if you are visiting i would be prepared to be judged and not expect good customer service. I thank the hampshire for spoiling the efforts of my friends and my surprise birthday day.

It was about 4.30 pm on Friday and we wanted a quick drink. There were plenty of tables available outside, so we decided to pop in. I stayed in this hotel with my partner and the first thing I must point out is the location. Its right in the heart of Leicester Square next door to the odean. We couldn't of asked for a better location with so much to do and see all around you also only a 15 minute walk to oxford street. The hotel itself was very welcoming with a very relaxed feel in the hotel bar and restaurant with a lovely ambience. The service by the staff was first class always happy to assist you in any way they could. The room was very nice with all the amenities you need on your stay I was quite happy with the fact it had an iron and ironing board in the room, small things please small minds ;). Over all it was a very pleasurable experience and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who was planning a night or two in the west end of london. Will definitely be staying here again

Before making our way to Scoff and Banter in Mercer St, we stopped at the other Scoff and Banter premises in Leicester Square, for champagne. It was pouring with rain, but the spectacular view of the fun fair in the Square made up for it. The service was excellent, and the Proseco we settled for in the end was reasonably priced and delicious. My friends asked for nibbles and we received a medium sized bowl of Olives, which I never eat, but which they told me were OK. We were disappointed not to be offered nuts or crisps which we usually receive (without having to ask) in other top London hotels. The problem with this venue is the seating: there are two sets of doors to the outside giving a tremendous (cold) through-draught so no-one can sit immediately between these doors without being frozen. In addition the other chairs are swivel-style and extremely uncomfortable - huge gap between seat and back of chair so one feels as if one is waiting for lift-off on a plane. Cushions might improve the situation,Never-the-less, this is an extremely popular venue and we will continue to visit, if only because, when there is a film premiere, customers are in a prime location! (But that's our secret...) We did not eat here, but the food looked fine.
