Hammond's Fish Bar Limited in Torfaen

This was our 2nd consecutive visit for Sunday lunch and yet again the roast lamb could be cut with a fork. The vegetables were cooked with just enough bite and we'll presented. The atmosphere is well suited for families and the staff are attentive and polite. Great venue.

Came here for a Sunday roast and it was divine! Dog friendly too, though we had to check in advance and they had to move our reservation as they were only allowed in part of the pub!

My partner was so impressed by the pub that he started his own YouTube channel in the pub giving a review lol. Lovely little Welsh pub, friendly locals, great ale.

Had an 80th afternoon tea for 18 at The Lion yesterday. The presentation, food and impeccable service all contributed to making this a most enjoyable experience. Highly recommended! Retha Durose

The food was very nice, slightly pricey, but enjoyable. We were seated quickly, and the waitress was polite and attentive. However, when it came to the end of our meal, I asked for a receipt as I was on a business trip. The waiter informed me that only his boss could provide one, but he was away on holiday. He took my details and asked me to call back the next day. When I called the following day to request the receipt, the boss of the waiter was unexpectedly aggressive and defensive. I even had to ask him to calm down over the phone, something I’ve never had to do in a professional setting. While I did eventually receive the receipt, the interaction left a very poor impression. Unfortunately, due to this experience, I won’t be returning.
