Halloumi Southside in Glasgow City

This Halloumi is a sister branch of the amazing Halloumi in Glasgow City centre, so we thought we'd give this restaurant a try. It was a quiet work day, so it wasn't that busy. The waitress gave us the menu and suggested that we order 2 or 3 dishes each for sharing. So we order 2 each, plus a bowl of hummus and toasted pitta bread. The rest of the order was 2x Loaded Halloumi Fries, Halloumi Gyros, Vegetable Moussaka, Mac & Cheese and Swordfish & King Prawns. The dishes were quite generous and even only 2 dishes each was hard work for us to finish off. I prefer my cooked halloumi to be firm and always worry that the fried halloumi will be too soft, but these were cook perfectly. The fries were accompanied by fried halloumi cubes garnished with chilli and spicy mayo. It was a perfect blend. The moussaka was also excellent. The cooked vegetables were so aromatic with all the smell and flavours held in by the top layer of mashed potatoes. Everyone enjoyed the meal and we would definitely revisit.

Very helpful staff in assisting with menu choice - excellent food and efficient service. Will definitely return if only to try other dishes. Good value and generous portions. Only complaint was the premises were cold.

Really lovely Greek restaurant, excellent choice of dishes, really good quality and tasty, authentic beer and lovely cocktails too, takeout if you prefer.

Fantastic experience. First visit and servers explained brilliantly what and how much to offer. Food lovely. Portion sizes perfect. Now just need to open one in Milton Keynes as I was only visiting in Glasgow.

Greek Tapas in a nutshell. Relaxed low-light atmosphere with good servers who really know there stuff. We went without the kids on a Monday night without a reservation & got seated right away. It was 75% full at one point during our meal. Gret meal with us ordering a mix of dishes. We had 5 between 2 of us. Fully stocked bar with some cool cocktail options. Definitely recommend this place!

Came here to celebrate my birthday and absolutely loved my time there. Staff were helpful. Particularly who I think may have been the manager/supervisor for the night. She recommended a certain number of dishes and helped make sure we had a lovely evening. Relaxed atmosphere. Incredible food. Cocktails were great too. Excited to come back again soon.

Friendly folks, good food and a relaxed approach to service which is appreciated. Food was tasty and although portions small they do suggest a couple of dishes. Only downside was lack of Gluten free bread to help enjoy their great dips, only so many carrot sticks a person can take !

Fabulous visit to Halloumi southside. I've been to the one in the city centre many times but this was my first visit to the South side restaurant. We went for the boozy brunch which was fantastic. Excellent value for money. Food and drinks amazing. Highly recommend the chicken souvlaki, calamari and Hercules cocktail. Will definitely come again. Thanks

Went for a meal with my partner and friend. I’d been before a few years ago and enjoyed it. When we arrived we were informed that 5 dishes were unavailable from the menu, which wasn’t a great start. For me, the quality of the food just doesn't justify the prices. The food is pretty average (Tzatziki is lovely though) Portion sizes are good but we were just overall disappointed with the quality of the food. In terms of atmosphere, it’s ok but the music is quite loud and there are takeaway delivery pick ups coming in constantly so the main door is open a lot which isn’t great if you are at a nearby table. Main issues were related to customer service. At one point in the evening I had to ask 3 different members of staff for a drink. The first 2 people I asked didn’t come back to take my order. The most concerning issue was that 55 minutes into our evening with a table full of food, we were told our table would need to be vacated in 15 minutes. I queried this and advised that I thought the standard was usually 1 hour 45 mins. I was then told it’s 1 hour 30 mins. This was still 15 mins short of that. I then looked up our confirmation email which clearly states that tables up to 4 get an allotted time of 1 hour 45 mins. A short time later we were told we didn’t have to leave our table but it was disruptive to our evening. I think it’s poor service to advise customers in the middle of a meal after less than an hour that they need to vacate the table. Again disappointing evening and unlikely to return.

Flawless in all aspects. Atmosphere, food, drinks, service all top notch. Neringa was a great host. 10/10
