Arrived and sat down on a comfy couch . After being ignored for several minutes managed to make eye contact with the waitress......the xtra large Eastern European one with bleached blond hair. I asked would it be possible to order and she abruptly replied " you order from the bar " turned her back and walked off . There is no signage to inform customers this is the protocol? So I walked up to the bar and she disappears knowing full well I wanted to order food ......bizarre/ unbelievable! After couple of minutes the other waitress took my order . Pleasant young girl with glasses. I ordered bacon & egg sandwich & coffee ......a few minutes later the sandwich arrived minus the fried egg . Few minutes later ( no problem mistakes happen ) the correct sandwich arrived with a request for me to go to the till after I finished to pay for the egg ! I have never ( I'm 64yo) experienced such rude ignorant behaviour in a restaurant. Hall & Woodhouse .......you should be ashamed employing such incompetent rude ignorant staff that can barely understand English and do not understand the meaning of the word service . The food was EXCELLENT but will not return .

I need to leave this here, you pay £4.50 for this amount of chips. No joke, that's the box on the picture. I'll leave it up to you weather you think this is acceptable.

We started off with a pre-booked tour of the brewery. Our guide was excellent with her wealth of knowledge of both the history of the company and ther processes within the brewery. We finished up in the bar/restaurant with a generous selection of the current Hall & Woodhouse range.......The Coffee flavoured "Master Stoat" stout was surprisingly tasty. We decided to stay for lunch and chose from the varied menu. The food was tasty, timely and well presented. Will certainly be calling in again.

We were very disappointed with our lacklustre Christmas dinner. We had obviously been looking forward to it and had booked it months before. The staff were badly trained and the atmosphere was not festive. The food was mediocre and dull…..But we were given a full refund so that helped.

In September we was just out for a walk so thought let’s pop in for a drink. As soon as I got to the bar what a fantastic welcome we got by all the staff so warm and helpful you couldn’t get better. Well done to you all. We enjoyed it so much. A week later went back for fish and chips which was so nice and ones again the staff was outstanding. Well done Hall and Woodhouse.

What a lovely gem of a pub attached to the brewery! Lovely welcoming staff, pub is beautiful inside, very industrial. Great selection of Badger ales and lagers, my husband enjoyed a new peach lager that I also ordered after a huge portion of cake with a pot of tea as part of a coffee and cake deal. They have live music on Thursday evenings from 8pm according to the signs. Kids eat free in the summer with an adult meal and the food coming out the kitchen looked lovely. They also have an onsite brewery shop and offer brewery experiences which you book online 2 days in advance. Will definitely return when next in the area visiting family

We visited the Brewery Tap for lunch. Pleasant place and I liked the industrial aspects of the building interior. Beers good as you might expect and whilst a jacket potato was small and not wonderful the steak and tanglefoot pie was exceptional.

The venue is lovely, and old convcerted indutrial building. So it's troom and full of character. Our firm went there for our Christmas lunch and is was all a bit average. There were no Christmas crackers on the table, the knives and forks were set the wrong way round. The paper napkins looked like they had come from the pound shop. Our table had the biggest wobble ever and we had to fold about 3 beermats to prop up the wobbly leg. The staff were nice enough, but efficient rather than friendly. The food was decent and plentiful, but but the time everyone had recieved their food, it was far from piping hot. This was the chance for the establishment to showcase what it could do and make a great impression on first-time visitors, but sadly it was all a big average.

Better than I was expecting for a restaurant in a brewery. There isn't much to choose from, and a lot of it is fried, but what we had was alright. If you're already there for the tour, I see little point in heading elsewhere

We stopped here to visit the brewery and have lunch. We didn't do a tour, but the taproom itself is great. It has interesting modern brewery-industrial decor with many specific touches like a chandelier made out of old bottles from the brewery. They also have memorabilia throughout and a mini museum up stairs with interesting artifacts. The food we had was excellent. The Tanglefoot ale & steak pie is excellent. It produces some great cask ales and the store has many items, including a good range of shirts, glasses, bottled beers, and more. Of the breweries we visited in England on the trip, this had the second-best store/shop in terms of range and variety of items, after Hook Norton.

The food here is exceptional and it’s by far one of the nicest restaurants that we’ve visited. The menu is full of proper home-cooked staples and the desert is one of the best we’ve ever had (the chocolate torte is unbelievably good!) It also goes without saying that the beer is outstanding too! The staff are super friendly and genuinely lovely, particularly the waitress who ran out of the brewery to catch me because I’d left my coat (big thank you!) If you’re staying in Blandford Forum or just passing through, we definitely recommend a visit here!

The brewery tour is about 2 hours. A lot of detail at the beginning about the history of the brewery and then a tour of the facilities which is enjoyable. Tour is good value but make sure you book for lunch or go for breakfast. The food is really good value and you get to choose a pint of beer after the tour. You also get 10% off if you buy something from the shop. Great thing to do on a rainy day.

We celebrated my husband’s 60th birthday with a private tour followed by a ploughman’s. Trevor gave us a fascinating and entertaining tour of the brewery including a history of the company; he coped well with our questions and pitched it very well considering several of us were already quite knowledgeable. The ploughman’s was huge and very good quality and we were able to taste the beers without feeling rushed. They also provided plates and forks for the birthday cake. All the staff were friendly and helpful. It was amazing value for money. Thank you making it such a memorable day

My wife and I love coming here, got a nice atmosphere about the place. Food and service are usually good, however, this time, the chips were way of the mark, over cocked and nothing in the middle we've had better scraps from the chippy. Maybe single frying rather than triple frying is the answer, and its no use hiding them under the ham or fish.

Having intended to try the cafe here for a long time I met up with a friend for breakfast. Initial impressions were great. Free parking, a lovely historic building tastefully fitted out to provide a characterful eating area and friendly staff. We both ordered cappuccino and the Drayman’s breakfast. The coffee was good but the breakfast was a huge disappointment. Most of the items were warm at best and the scrambled, egg which was dry, rubbery and cold was inedible. We noticed that both plates were missing a sausage which was added, with an apology. This was the best bit of the breakfast as it was good quality and at least hot. Shame we would have loved to have made this a regular meeting place. The friendly service bumped my score up to an average otherwise, I’m afraid, it would have been poor.

Came here with wife, daughter and her partner for lunch on a Saturday afternoon having had a lovely walk around the town and Stour park. The brewery tap bar and restaurant at the brewery visitors centre offered a good choice for lunch and a great selection of drinks (I would highly recommend you try the 'paddle' which offers a selection of beers to test). The ploughman's lunch had a very good selection and was well presented (if you are a light eater I would suggest one ploughman between 2 and order a side order of the scotch egg); our daughters partner enjoyed his fish finger cob. The staff were very friendly and are passionate about their brewery. If you have never been before and are looking for somewhere a bit quieter with character then I would recommend you try this place out.

I will be honest in that my recent experiences of service in the crown have been very disappointing in fact poor, although I have never bothered to leave bad feedback. However on Saturday night I would like to congratulate the service and staff that served me.Firstly the young barmen whose name I failed to get who noted the order in which you arrived at the bar and although a particularly attractive lady waited next to me and was directly in front of the barmen he still explained i was next and came over to serve me when I really wouldnt have blamed him for serving her. Secondly whilst we were most of the way through our pint of guiness another bar member, Dean, went beyond his duties and service by asking if we would like a further round, and would we like it to start being poured as appreciated 5 guiness take a little while to be poured correctly. We took up his kind offer and made a point of thanking the excellent service we enjoyed on a relatively busy Saturday night. I am keeping my fingers crossed it will be the same on my next visit! Thanks again for the service.

Currently it is undergoing a renovation. We made the last tour just about! The tour guide was great and certainly very knowledgeable about the beer brewing process and the beers themselves.the visitor centre was very good in terms if seating and displaying the physical history of H&W. unfortunately when we went there was no food on offer - this was because they had packed up the kitchen in order to get the renovations underway. i would love to go back and have a brunch with some proper badger beers. My suggestion to improve the tour - have a section on the various speciality beers what recent ones were, whats coming up etc. Also to have the ability to have 2 half pints for your voucher would be good especially if you want to try different beers. all in al a great place and experience. i look forward to seeing what it will be come September.

My partner and I are big fans of Badger Beer, so we nipped in here, hoping to get on a brewery tour. Unfortunately, they only run one tour a day, and we'd missed it. The only way to cheer ourselves up was to stock up on the beer! The guy in the shop was very knowledgeable and helpful as we stocked up on some ales that might see us to Christmas - well, you never know!! Disappointed that we didn't make the tour, but looking forward to sampling our purchases!

Had a lovely meal at Charlton Inn, every time we come here, we are greeted with a friendly welcome. The menu is extensive on the choice, we chose off the specialist menu and decided to with Haddock mornay, and I had Steak with Guinness pie, which both came with chunky chips and a side of vegetables, both were excellent, and very reasonable value, the whole lot with 1.2/2 pints came to under £36.00, great service and a great pub

Disappointed with the pot pie can’t really call it a pie pastry sat on top of a ramekin dish with a couple of pieces of meat under and seasonal vegetables only kale. This was the light lunch £14. Customers dog sat watching us the owner sat at the bar not taking notice of what his dog was doing. This was lunch out for my birthday so disappointing.

Decided to try this as it’s under new ownership and within walking distance. I booked ahead for Sunday lunch at 1pm thinking it may be busy but the main bar was was completely empty. The staff greeted us warmly and were offered drinks which we decided to have at the table in the the restaurant away from the loud music. Obviously the staff were playing what they wanted rather than something suitable for the clientele. The restaurant only had one other couple dining, it was completely empty apart from us. The waitresses were very young, sweet and polite. After a considerable wait we were served our food. What a disappointment! The lamb wellington consisted of 3 slices of lamb with a thin layer of pastry around the outside, my Mothers 3 slices of pork looked nice and I have 2 slices of overcooked roast beef. The vegetables looked ok but were barely warm and and roast potatoes were yesterday’s and had chewy skins. Very disappointing which we pointed out to the waitress when she asked how our meal was when she cleared the table. I could hear the same comments from the other couple when they were asked the same question. We decided that we’d go home for our pudding rather than chance a repeat reheat of yesterday’s. Such a shame, we weren’t offered any explanation, but one only had to look around to see why the place was empty. My husband who doesn’t cook could have produced a better meal. It cost us £56 in total. We shan’t be returning and I don’t suppose the other diners will either. I took the meat home and there were no complaints from the dogs!
